It's like arguing with an AI / Samsung rep 😮💨
I just don't get it your point was that Samsung uses "fancy" names only for marketing purposes, I made 2 scheme and even a summary for you. And honestly you called me a Samsung rep but you just don't want to assume that you're wrong about the Qled.
So please give it up 🙏
Then the argument should have stopped right here, you're the one who brought the s pen into this even though you were wrong.
It’s not nonsense at all, it enhances colour quite a bit. That’s why QD-OLED is superior to W-OLED when it comes to colours.
I would love a 12-bit Dolby Vision Monitor that’s based on QD-OLED / MicroLED at 480Hz 😄👏✨
A display like that genuinely would have 10 years or so life in it before needing to upgrade.
Weird then how there are no Q-LED mastering monitors; they're pretty much all OLED
Omg
Want to be sure, are you talking about gaming monitors ?
No
Well QD also relates to Monitors so I guess we are discussing them too 😄✨
And the QD Monitors are excellent
Especially for their main advantage which is colour
QD-oled is so beautiful
Yeah, I’ll have to get the LG OLED in a few years but if Samsung ups the Hz I’ll switch to the QD-OLED in a heartbeat!
Personally i'm way too poor to afford one had to stick with the Samsung g5, but have fun with it tho
Ahh you never know in a few years 😄
Ugh, stupid late unlock time for Ratchet & Clank tomorrow.
huh? when is it?
cool, thanks. Looking forward to playing it, even after all that wait
Ratchet and clank is that ps action and adventure shooter right?
apparently ray tracing has been disabled for AMD cards at launch but tbh with how poor ray tracing performance is on AMD its a meh kind of thing
yeah, quite a bit of fun from what I remember but I'm going back to PSP days. Been so long since I last played any ratchet and clank game
Rift Apart is good. I enjoyed it on PS5.
where are you downloading it
Pc or phone? -lol
Yeah, not sure what I’d compare it to really. Basically a platformer with guns and upgrade systems
I enjoyed rift apart but there was 1 trophy I couldn’t get that never got patched which was annoying so could never get the plat
Got my RTX 4070 up and running, wow it demolishes everything. Huge gains compared to my RTX 3060ti
still running 1080p 75hz, though lol. But I'm set for a long while and most likely getting a 1440p monitor or 1080p 144hz(or higher)
Nice
100+ hz is so nice. The smoothness is just very satisfying
yeah I used to have an 120hz monitor but it broke, settled with this 75hz monitor
which is very nice, MUCH easier to run and 75hz is a lot better than 60hz, but I do miss having higher than that
but now that I can run 144hz no problem in any game, I am def gonna try it out again, It's between that or 1440p which will be tougher to maintain 144hz. But long as it's g-sync compatible should be fine
Rift apart is deck verified
1440p 144Hz won’t be an issue for a 4070 tbh
does anyone know how to fix the error code 20006 or error code 216 on pc gamepass ive tried everything like repairing the files

seems limited to Zen 2 processors. I was going to share a link to this on here a day or two ago but wasn't sure if it would be wise
Yeah, not much you can do besides getting the patches when available I suppose either way
yup and for that users affected could be waiting until as late as December for that fix. Meanwhile EPYC Zen 2 has already been patched
Affects series consoles right? Being based on zen 2 architecture
that's what I was wondering but I'd guess since consoles can't really be altered to the same extent a PC can they would be unaffected or at the very least far less risk of impact from this vulnerability but yeah, they also use a Zen 2 processor
But the browser supports JS and this bypasses the hypervisor sandbox. Sooooo
I had to test for Spectre mitigations years ago on site, they'd only applied software patches and I managed to get it working again. Client wasn't happy that the fix was "wait for the microcode patch"
iirc for some software patches might have been the only option or to upgrade to a newer CPU that would have hardware level mitigations against Spectre and Meltdown. Though I think it was mostly Intel CPUs affected by that. AMD CPUs were mostly unaffected (until a later discovery at least)
Yeah I have some Sandy and Ivy CPUs that were in that list but never really had any issues
There's a Powershell script knocking about that can test for Spectre, think there's c code too, to build an exe
majority of users probably won't run into issues but I still find it good to be up to date anyway in regards to security. Rather be safe than sorry
Yeah for sure
Oh certainly the end user won't really care. Enterprise users protecting PII/PCI data have to care
From end user point of view as long as your operating system is being updated with security updates that’s the main thing.
I've met users that won't even do that. "I'm not installing that, I only get 59FPS in rocket league now instead of 60, ITS UNPLAYABLE! AMD BROKE MY COMPUTER!" etc
wait, seriously?
Semi serious lol but there are users that won't update because of diminishing performance
I always install my security updates
I remember some of the impacts spectre and meltdown vulnerabilities brought were quite severe but come on, that's just being silly lol. Either update/apply measures and soak up the diminished performance or upgrade to a processor with hardware mitigations
Yeah I mean especially on a windows machine you want the security updates asap to be on the safe side
Agreed
I didn't really notice any difference tbh after the patches
Just cause u have bad perf wont mean anything if pc refuses to boot if someone exploited the vulnerabilities preupdate
I agree with you, but the saying in info sec goes "you can't patch stupid"
Spectre won't corrupt the OS, just leaks data, unless you meant "others"
Any1 Shatterline
NOTE: At the eight minute mark, the RX 570 is compared to the PS4 - we meant PS4 Pro. The RX 570 has 32 GCN compute units, similar to the PS4 Pro GPU, but runs at with higher clocks.
We received an advance build Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart on PC ahead of time, but with not enough time available to do a complete analysis. So here, we take a lo...
Their max spec PC is pretty much the same as mine (I have a 13900K compared to their 12900K and 64GB Ram compared to their 32GB) so will be a decent comparison for how it will run for me (when my damn key arrives).
where did you get it from? I got my key via CDKeys just after midnight. Had it preloaded and ready to go shortly after
From CD Keys. It showed in stock, but the order shows pending and won't give the key.
hmm, that's odd
The PayPal transaction still shows as pending too, but the money has been taken from my bank. Not sure what they're doing.
mine went through instantly check there isn't another email with download on it and then it takes you to the part to get your key code
I'm in the order list on my account.
I've had it stuck at pending before one time. I just sent them and email and it got sorted after that.
Rhinne that sucks. Hope ur order get processed and u get ur key
Bad enough it was a 4pm unlock. No idea how long it will take support to respond.
They are usually pretty quick when I've had to get in touch
Like less than an hour
PC min still looks surprising good !
Yeah it does
I'm watching atm, game is unplayable on a HDD which is pretty much expected but interesting to see in practice.
that part where it really stutters and stuff is that the thing Sony claimed the game needed the SSD on the PS5 to run properly? If so for me that was buttery smooth. Not a single stutter or that. Pretty cool effects and at 4K maxed settings it looks great. Much needed change of pace from all the Diablo IV I've been playing lately 😄
I think if you have a PCIE gen 4 drive with good speeds will probably be about the same or a bit better. I think they are doing more testing with that soon with an in depth
Does Rachet and clank needs rt?
Nope, it's not even possible on AMD atm.
Then why did they give specs for 4k rt lol
It's only on Nvidia atm, will be patches in later for AMD at some point
I guess not stable atm
I thought they release a driver update yesterday 4 amd
yeah, I have the WD Black SN850X 2TB, one of the fastest Gen 4 M.2 available. If it doesn't match the PS5 SSD it beats it for speed. Will eventually move up to Gen 5 but only when the stars align oops, I meant when speeds get closer to peak 16GB/s Gen 5 is capable of and prices come down to a point it's £100/TB or less and for my next SSD upgrade I'll be going 4TB so £400 or less
Yeah that's the same drive I'm using in the PS5 atm
I tried that motorfest closed beta terrible. I had to roll back my driver to even play it. Only like 20 to 30 fps no upscaling
AMD also acknowledge there's an issue within the notes of the 23.7.2 driver they launched earlier today and hope to have a fix soon (probably another driver)
Well, even if I were to get the key I wouldn't be playing tonight as the pre-load I had installed is only half the game and would need another 35GB+ to download on our crappy internet.
Urgent:
How do I access Xbox's LFG feature for certain games like COD MW2 on PC?
And no im not talking about the PC version of their LFG on Xbox I just solely want to access the LFG that includes xbox players
That is not urgent.
it is
from sources PC and Xbox arent allowed to use the same LFG in the xbox companion app
Well they removed it I guess, but how can I rollback my xbox companion app to access it again
Then maybe you can't, but either way, it's not urgent in the slightest.
the companion app has been discontinued
do you know how to access the lfg
No
the one xbox uses on the console
Use an Xbox
bro ur not helping im on PC
Then use this severs lfg or cod discord servers lfg
So with the loading aspect basically a high end PCIE3 drive doesn’t make any difference on the game compared to a drive at PCIE4 speeds although a Sata SSD has a lot of noticeable stuttering which is interesting and kind of expected but the first game we have seen that in as far as I’m aware.
Testing on a mid range pc video is out soon so will be interesting to see that as well
thats not my question
Info online says it's not an option.
Don’t think so, the companion app is separate and unsupported
there is a way im sure
when i had the series s before i sold it there was a couple PC players joining our lfgs
so im trying to figure out how to access it
Not with xbox app pc u cant. U can try the game bar
LFG is in gamebar
If it's not in the new app, then you don't. You can't roll back the app, that app is discontinued.
How do i run my games in -dx11?
Depends if the game has an option for dx11 or not
Ok, I'm trying to do this for Hi-fi rush, because of a hibiki crash, at start
I cant seem to find any fix for this
I don’t think the game even supports dx11 according to pc gaming wiki.
oh
yeah, not every game afaik will allow you to set a directX 11 override and these days most games are now running DirectX 12 only. There are some games that might allow use of -dx11 but there will probably be a performance penalty with it (like in Ghostwire Tokyo for instance)
I thought hifi rush is dx12
it is
What's a good 60% keyboard under 100
something I've noticed with Ratchet and Clank Rifts Apart. It supports Nvidia and Intel ambient occlusion implementations (HBAO+ and XeGTAO respectively) but no AMD CACAO (Combined Adaptive Compute Ambient Occlusion). Also FSR implementation seems to be v2.1 rather than the latest v2.2.1
Ironic when it's a game built for the ps5(amd hardware)
Insomniac sure do love their particle effects 😄
How's the game running for you, Sub?
Its kinda weird that i ended up using my steam deck more than my desktop now
Not really weird at all! It’s a cool little pc handheld 😄, I really want
Gotta say, it runs nicely on the ROG Ally so far. I put it on medium preset because they’ve not released the latest AMD drivers for the Ally yet but it looks nice and runs smoothly.
That's cool, I've heard mixed things on midrange setups. It seems to scale pretty well to low or high end builds though besides some bugs mentioned in the DF video.
Feels weird seeing xbox button prompts in a Ratchet game as well haha
I may be able to tweak it to get it to run with a higher frame rate with lower settings, but that's just a quick test with the medium preset.
I likely won't play it much on the Ally, but I'm away this weekend so will be handy to have to play a little of it maybe.
I wasn't a fan of playing it with an Xbox controller on my desktop though. The half press and full press trigger controls for guns doesn't translate well at all.
It also tries to replicate the Dual Sense haptics on the Xbox controller which doesn't work. The subtle vibrations for the footsteps end up being strong vibrations with every step, so I had to turn those off. I've switched over to using a Dual Sense now, but I hate having to use it wired for the Dual Sense features.
That's pretty interesting, I didn't think about that actually but the dual sense trigger feedback was quite important on that game now I remember it for some weapons.
I can see that being an issue on the Ally with there being less range of movement in the trigger buttons.
Unless there's an option in the controls to use a modifier of some kind.
Shame the dual sense isn't supported in wireless mode according to the website on Windows. Hopefully that's something that will come in future which would be nice for the Sony specific games.
The controller itself is, but the Dual Sense features won't work, so you need to be wired for general vibration, the advanced haptics and adaptive triggers.
The game is running real nice on my desktop. Got everything completely maxed out as far as it can go.
It's running around 90fps with DLSS off. With it on I get between 150 and 170.
runs great for me. Been exploring and framerate seems solid and no hiccups or that I've noticed as yet. Nixxes and Insomniac Games should work together with other game devs on all future PS PC releases if this is how good things have got
I'm curious to see how it runs for people on more midrange hardware like a 3600x and 3060 etc. Seen mixed results with that so far.
I'd love to bung it on my rig to just watch it explode in a swarm of bolts 😂
Somehow I think an i3 6100 and a 1660 super ain't gunna cut it
That is still better than the minimum DF was testing with I think. At least on the GPU side
Might be ok locking it to 30 and low/mid settings
I could live with that
If you had a chance to drop in a 6700 or 7700 at some point would help a lot as well
7700 is about equal to 3600x which is kinda midrange still now
I've considered beefing up the CPU, but not sure it's worth it, they don't seem to benchmark that much higher?
It would definitely be a lot better than the i3. The extra cores and threads will make a difference
did I see right that DF lowest spec system was running a rare Ryzen 3 3100? if so I remember something about them that was quite negative. I think AMD put the 4c/8t it had over 2 CCD and back in Zen 2 CCD consisted of two blocks of 4 cores and their own L3 cache (per CCD) so instead of it all being on one CCD with half of it disabled (iirc that would be how the 3300X works) the 3100 is like 2c/4t x 2c/4t
They seem to be about £70 on ebay, so after getting one and flipping the i3 probably about £40 overall ish
who did the port for rachet and clank on pc?
nixxes
Nixxes, same who did spider-man
Tbh it runs what I try to run fine. I'll probably keep it until it gives up or can't run something I want to play, then I'd rather just build a DDR5/Zen rig
nice at least with nixxes we can actually trust to do it right
Is the port any good like spiderman or bad like last of us part i
I probably get it next year since from now til end of the year i would be buying a lot of games. Im guessing it cost 70 usd 4 rachet and clank
Aye it's full price right now
£35 on cdkeys for a bit of a discount
This is capped at 60 for the capture, but it's running at 90 without DLSS and 150-170 with it enabled. No issues with the port so far. Solid job.
Nice what u think nixxes next port is? I say either ghost of tsushima, god of war ragnarok or forbidden west
Probably Tsushima
One thing I find super annoying about using the Dual Sense on PC, aside from needing to use it wired, is that no matter how I set my default sound output, it will always switch to playing all audio out of the damn controller speaker.
that would be annoying 😄 I just stick to using an Xbox controller. Though I'm slowly getting used to the idea of using it over bluetooth rather than wired all the time
Dont a dual sense link via bluetooth?
Im sticking to wired
It does, but only for basic controller use. If you want vibration, haptics and adaptive triggers you need to use it wired.
That makes no sense at all
hmm, kind of hard to tell if Ratchet and Clank Rifts Apart is making use of the 3D V Cache or not. Keeps fluctuating between the 3D V Cache and frequency cores. There's a chance I may see improved performance yet when this gets fixed
Would recommend getting the wireless adapter if you have the spare cash it's much better than bluetooth
My wireless xbox controller can connect to pc without adapter why do people need wireless adapter for connecting wireless controllers to pc?
If their PC/laptop doesn't have bluetooth.
Also, the USB wireless adaptor uses the proprietary Xbox wireless protocol which has a more stable connection than bluetooth with less latency.
So basically any of the pcs with last 5 years should have bluetooth
Yeah you can only have 1 controller connected at the same time as well. The connection can be pretty flakey on BT and on some games causes performance issues.
Yeah. I just wired my starfield controller. I dont use bluetooth at all
The wireless adaptor allows for 8 controllers at once.
Plus two headsets. Or might be four.
I probably get the starfield headset next year. My current headset only playable on xbox
But getting the offical wireless adapter is hard to find brand new
Anyone try remnant 2 on pc yet
I'm not sure why the adapters are harder to get now. They were everywhere a couple years ago
Are they discontinued or something now?
I know right. Without spending upwards of 50 or more
Interesting, I wasn't really aware of all this but yeah, I think I'll just stick to wired after all
Yeah that's weird I got a couple of them for like £18 in 2021 for my PCs from argos. I guess ebay would be your next best option
might go as far as to disable the bluetooth on my PC as it probably now isn't going to see any use. Btw, with the new charge kit for the Series controllers is the cable long enough to use or only to charge? I looked on the Xbox site and it wasn't very clear with the cable length
I don't have a recent one but the play and charge kit on xbox one was a decent length cable
I'm not sure about the Series controller cable. I'm using one from the Elite v2 and that's long enough to stretch from my PC to the sofa.
Yeah I don't use anything on bluetooth, especially having multiple devices going on bluetooth causes issues all the time with Windows.
I have a pretty decent PCIE Wifi6 adapter with bluetooth as well
I have question, can you play windows store games launched through xbox app without other people seeing me online, including friends?
Show as offline
Usually 2m
Should i get RDR2 on PC to replay this masterpiece if i already played it on PS5 but on 30fps with low res?
if you have the hardware to run it I don't see why not. Also, remember the download size will be pretty large
120 gigs if im correct
But i enjoyed the game alot after the story i installed a mod menu for offline and was fun messing around in there
With its use of DirectStorage 1.2 and high-end ray tracing, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is a cutting-edge PC release aiming to match and exceed the PlayStation 5 version of the game. There's much to commend here, but it's another PC release that arrives with users with bugs and issues that suggest that the game isn't quite finished.
Subscribe...
true. i need play around in that. i havent even started the game up yet except modify the settings
no pings pls 🙂
sorry
no worries mate
tbh i havent even beaten rdr2 on console yet its a very long game especially if u want to do everything
so based off this video (at around 26:29) SATA SSDs are still relevant after all. M.2 SSD only improve load times by some 3 seconds with no noticeable improvements going for faster M.2. All this hype around new tech. M.2 vs SATA SSDs shouldn't even be comparable (M.2 being between 7-24x faster!) at least on paper they are not but that rarely shows in actual hardware performance, even with what little we've seen so far of DirectStorage. Glad to ditch the SATA cables but I feel like I've been made a fool of with all the hype in some sense. DirectStorage should have only supported M.2 SSDs imo, like it was originally planned before, for whatever reason SATA SSDs (and even HDD iirc) got added too
Careful, you'll start the "why storage cards so expensive" thread again
I wouldn’t be surprised if performance is improved with patches, as it stands PS5 is faster at loading than even the fastest PCs on the market during those portal sequences. No difference between PCIE gen 3 and 4 speeds for this game specifically which is interesting. Sata SSDs just have more loading and more judder between sequences but still playable.
Looks like you would need to have a pretty beefy system to match PS5 settings otherwise though. The 2070 super Alex was using needed quite a lot of changes and texture resolution needed to be downgraded due to 8GB not being able to handle it.
the game looks good but i wait til it goes on sale
Guess my issue with anything faster than a SATA SSD is it doesn't seem to make that much difference? Like a basic SSD is significantly faster than a HDD, but anything faster than that is just bells and whistles IMO
i decided to go back to spiderman remastered and miles i need a nixxes fix
well that's where DirectStorage was meant to come in and allow even faster loading for when SATA SSDs become too slow to load complex worlds etc but I feel it should scale with the speed of the SSDs so say a gen 3 M.2 SSD loads one of these complex worlds in 30 seconds gen 4 being able to offer approximately double the bandwidth should load that same thing in around 15 seconds and then gen 5 in around 7-8 seconds. That was my understanding of this technology with SATA being deemed "minimum spec" or not recommended as it would be considerably slower
so sata ssd is ok for rachet and clank probably no for starfield.
Not sure if Starfield will be using direct storage
sure hope it does. What has been shown so far it's a game that could use it
direct storage will be more used on win 11 than w 10 pcs i assume
windows 10 still supports DirectStorage though to what extent idk. Would be interesting to see a windows 10 vs 11 comparison with DirectStorage
agreed. im on win10
does rachet and clank makesgood use of direct storage
seems to as there is some proof of it doing something if you aren't running on at least a SATA SSD as certain scenes (as shown on the DF video linked above) may cause the system to grind to a halt like the game is going to crash and the devs do recommend an M.2 SSD
but it doesnt seem something thats noticeable
it can become noticeable. I'd certainly be annoyed at the game coming to an abrupt stop for a second or two while it loads stuff in the background on a slower storage. Was very smooth for me on my M.2 SSD to the point I passed one of the parts where the M.2 SSD helps without realizing it 😄
i put all my games that release within the last year or so on my m2 drive
list the specs or the pc here
Xbox i like the new update
Will a PC with a Ryzen 5600g and rx 6400 outperform a Xbox one x
a windows 10 with dell and with nvidia nvs 3100m is the same thing as an original 2001 xbox or 360 thats all i know
hard to say for sure but both the CPU and GPU being far more recent it should be a significant improvement over the hardware the Xbox One X used though you will probably find the RX 6400 is lacking in game performance
Im on pc xbox and its not allowing me to use my ps4 controller connected to my pc is there any way to get it to work on xbox games?
guys i have a question and it might be a stupid one
whats the difference between ULTIMATE AND GAME PASS?
ultimate actually lets you play online and have friends and gamepass just gives you free games. In simple form ultimate+gamepass= playstation plus
CPU yes, GPU no
Never should you buy an rx 6400, it is really underpowered.
u switching from what exactly? both 980 and 990 pro are gen 4s ssds
though not by much. perf 980 pro vs 990 pro is very small and wont be something that is noticeable
for that get better internet
Price difference is also negligible between the two, so much as we’ll get a 990 Pro.
true. but that depends on their budget ofc
I am at like 8 ping so i dont think internet is something i need to think about
But like what samsung says that the 990 pro is 50% faster then 980 pro
But idk because i dont have much experience with m.2 but more with ssd's
Pretty sure it was in the writes speed. The reads speed are nearly identical.
Make sure to get the firmware updates if you go with 990 pro. Heard those have some issues
Depends if it’s new or old stock. Would be best to get the newer firmware to be more safe
I personally would just get the SN950X, not heard of any reliability issues with those.
Like all i need rn is to not use 2 min to load into sea of thieves
Either would be fantastic, if you can get the 990 pro for cheaper than go for it.
I mean i found a 990 pro without a heatsink for 120$ but found a 980 pro with a heatsink for 100$ plus it in my local store
I also have a question if i have lets say sea of thieves on steam but i use my microsoft account that is logged in on xbox website. Cant i like link something so i can play it on the series s
No
Damn bro then i have to buy sea of thieves all over again.
If you bought it on Xbox you would have both versions as it’s play anywhere game but steam is a separate purchase
what should I do about trying to find a new game to play on my PC and I try a game and I get bored quick repeat. I don't know if I want to continue playing old school runescape. It's hard for me to pick up a new game and enjoy it. Maybe I need to try new things idkl
Exoprimal
Im trying to use my ps5 controller to play decenders, it will let me skip through the intro bit but not ride or move at all. I can play other games on the pass like mk11 but not descenders. Any help?

yo anyone got spiderheck
I tried it out but playing solo isn't fun lol
found something odd with Forza Horizon 5. Apparently a recent driver from AMD finally fixed performance of the RX 7000 series GPUs but it seems to have specific conditions this so called "fix" if I run with TAA enabled things remain as they were in previous drivers in terms of performance but turn off TAA and enable MSAA and have it set to 2x and I go from 130 FPS to 150 FPS and there is where it gets odd... Shouldn't MSAA be more taxing on hardware than TAA?
Probably a bug
Hello I have a problem where I cannot see my XBOX friends online while they are, which means I can't play with them, I already tried every solution I could find online, please someone help I just want to play MineCraft (if this helps : I'm on PC and my friends are on PS4/5)
why doesnt msi afterburner work on fh4?
You need too give details MSI after burner works with your pc not the game
it works on most games
sure but that isnt giving details
iirc there was a way to get MSI Afterburner to work with FH4 but I can't quite remember it all. Think it involved enabling the pre created profiles from RTSS (if you also use that) I'd also make sure MSI Afterburner (and RTSS, again if you use it too) are up to date
Hello, I have a serious problem since I have two xbox accounts with the same gmail, and I can't access the main one, and I want to delete the another account , what do I have to do?
is it possible to add different accounts on xbox pc so they can all access the same content as one account that pays for the xbox game pass ultimate, just like how you can do this on an xbox console
Contact official xbox support no one can help u with acct issues
There is no gameshare like capability on pc.
Anyone else played BattleBit remastered? It's such a fun game. Basically battlefield but with a Roblox-esque style
actually there is... somewhat, at least for steam. Family library sharing or something like that.
true. but not for xbox acct via xbox app or such
still think its worth mentioning
But it was irrelevant to the original question that was asked.
Hey so I bought the mk11 ultimate edition (I have mk11 itself through gamepass) and everytime I try to unlock the content in game it causes "gaming services" to stop working and I can't access my whole library on pc, I've uninstalled and reinstalled the xbox app multiple times and I even hard reset my computer but nothing seems to work, does anybody know what I need to do to fix this?
Anyone know if you can make a grapich card work on a xbox?
No
What are you talking about?
No like i want to try and somehow connect a grapich card to a xbox.
You mean to record the output?
bro not recording but like not use the xbox grapich that rae inside bui make it work with a rtx 2070 for example.
No and I'm pretty certain that's never worked with any console ever
Well that sounds against rule 12, as curious as I might be
Do what you want but it can't be discussed here
oof i didnt see that this was pc gaming lol
I meant the server in general

hello. is there a place to report issues related to pc gaming in this server?
Nope. Most games have a report feature
someone help if i try to log in xbox pc app browser instantly crashes and i cant login!
https://twitter.com/Sebasti66855537/status/1685389848603951111?s=20 idk if this link will work with how X, formerly Twitter works these days (RIP Twitter birb
) but this is interesting. I thought DirectStorage wouldn't have a performance hit or if there was one it was minor. Without it some lower spec systems may actually be able to play it
Makes you wonder if the direct storage should be an option too. Longer loads Vs higher FPS
I think there might also be a launch option (Steam) to disable DirectStorage so having to go as far as to delete certain dll files seems a bit far. Whether or not that works though is another thing but I might check it out and see if it fixes the crashing I've been getting
DirectStorage by its very nature is GPU-based Decompression removing the load from the CPU
some that tried this have somehow reported marginally faster loading with it off vs on. Someone tell me how that makes any sense... I tried it and can't even jump through one of those rifts without the game crashing on me right now. Makes it unplayable and I have send every report post crash so here's hoping there is a fix in the works 😦
Then maybe don't delete files that the game was shipped with and intended to run on?
The devs are not responsible for crashes related to modifying the game file list.
I reverted that after. Had the crashes before, during and after
It is worth noting he does not list what hardware he's using
judging by the comments it looks like it's a 4090
@Sebasti66855537 I would assume, that the CPU is now doing the decompression.
So if you are not CPU limited and the data that needs to be decompressed isnt more than the free CPU power can handle, than you basicly just get ekstra GPU awailable to help in your GPU limited situation (I assume).…
pretty much this
in areas with no asset streaming you're naturally going to only have the cpu handling loading. Whilst playing in standard areas and once it's loaded in, the cpu is not bound much as most of what's on screen has already loaded.
btw, I tried the method without removing the dll files suggested. I was right in there being a command for DirectStorage supported games that would turn it off but idk if it really made any difference or not
Looks like it's an RTX card problem according to Reddit and Twitter
So you probably won't see any difference atm since you don't use nvidia right?
yeah, all AMD and right now there is a known issue with crashes happen but it has been reported as when RT is enabled, which the devs disabled for those on AMD GPUs currently and I'm even on a more specific driver version that supports the game (23.7.2 didn't) and claimed to have fixed the crashing (clearly not) I think the most recent game patch has made the crashing worse if anything
found out there is a way to roll back to the previous version of the game (v1.727) didn't know Steam supported that tbh until I found it within the game's properties page on Steam (right click the game and select properties and go down to beta). Might give that a try and see if it was v1.728 or if it is the game overall
so far so good no crashing. Might even try the command to turn off DirectStorage now that I seem to have figured the crashing out
since earlier I stopped bothering about DirectStorage since as Albzi pointed out it was an Nvidia issue but rolling back to v1.727 from v1.728 seems to improve performance and reduce the chances of crashes occurring (though I still wasn't completely crash free)
And ppl wonder why ms doesnt use it
Bought a new xbox controller and started using it on my pc i updated the firmware and started playing apex legends and im having an issue seems like quite often when i hit Y to swap weapons its like it doesn't register the press
Any idea what this could be or how to fix it?
To clarify it is a wireless one
Does it happen when using it wired?
I will test that when i get home
Thinking it might be interference.
I considered that as well but not sure by what yet.
If you are using bluetooth it can be pretty unreliable. Would recommend getting the xbox controller adapter for long term use.
One of these, although they don't seem to be in stock often anymore for some reason. May have to use ebay if not.
Found it on amazon for $40
so i noticed that in the new beta you can use the new renderdragon thing how do you enable it? is there a resource pack that will make the option usable? i would also like to test it on my phone.
If you're looking for someone to play with, please go to #1094715375884697600
Do you directly plug in your controller to your pc with a wire?
why does my mcc get stuck on a black screen with the golden logo at the bottom not changing
Who here has game pass and wants to be friends
the US site doesn't even list as sold out, it just has no buy button at all. I'd say its effectively discontinued even if temporarily.
the loading of the update of my xbox elite serie 2 controller does not progress for 2 hours it is blocked at 0
I will buy a new pc, can I play xbox game pass games without paying extra on the computer?
PC doesn't require anything like Xbox Live Gold and it has it's own version of game pass (PC Game Pass) but depending on the games you plan to play you might need a pretty good PC to run them and that may set you back quite a bit
I need help plz help per dm

Okay thanks so i must to pay extra for pc gamepass right?
if u only getting pc gamepass which also includes ea play. pc gamepass isnt free
Anyone here have the problem with the interference of xbox controller and bluetooth audio devices when connected them to PC ?
Bluetooth isn’t really ideal for gaming
Agree, but I just dont want to pay more 20$ for the official wireless adapter
Your only option is to use the wire then or try and reduce interference
But the thing is it only happen on my PC, there is no same issue in retail store. I'm have change to some 5.0 bluetooth dongle but it still there. 5.3 is on the way.
upgrading bluetooth spec probably won't make that much of a difference without the device that is being connected to bluetooth also supporting that spec
So, what should I do to deal with it?
sorry, I should have been a little clearer with what I meant earlier and included that bluetooth spec should be backwards compatible but just don't expect use of any new features 5.3 supports for instance if connecting device doesn't also support v5.3. Should be alright otherwise
How do i play minecraft with a friend that is on console?
PC part ordering process for the Starfield Build ™️ is officially complete.
Which version for starfield build?
Ah, I went with this: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/wQszKX
Part List - Intel Core i9-13900K, GeForce RTX 3090, Fractal Design Meshify 2 ATX Mid Tower
Given price to performance, and stability with my audio production software, I saw no value - after weeks of studying and consideration - moving to the DDR5 platform
So u staying with ddr4? Nice. My gpu is not as good as urs but could do starfield at 4k. 6800xt which fsr can boost it to 30 or 60fps hopefully.
Hopefully they all arrive and u can build pc before september 1st or 6th depending which version u got
yep, the last parts arrive this week.
nice. yeah, i got lucky with a friend who upgraded to the 4090 and sold me his 3090 at a great price along with the AIO and PSU
I just built my pc in november but didnt get my gpu til early jan. I have a amd build 5600 non x 6800xt and 32gig ram. A 2tb sk hynix p41 and a 6tb hdd
I was on a i5-4670k and rx 560 2gb
I probably wont upgrade til 2027 or later
my PC component spending is done for a while and I have but one regret about it. Not waiting to get the 7800X3D instead of the 7950X3D and saving some £250. A build like what I have done is probably going to be one off with me dropping down to the high end on the GPU side again (no higher than an 800/80 SKU) next time around
random question, has anyone ever had problems with the gaming services not working while trying to use the xbox app?
Yes. Not me tho. But someone has.
finally upgrading to DDR5, going to be some good gains in 1080p
and my new motherboard will match the rest of my system lol, my current motherboard has silver accents but every other part I have is blacked out
what CPU etc you getting to go with this upgrade?
still using my 12700k, I had bought a cheaper DDR4 motherboard with it awhile ago
nice
prolly gonna upgrade once 14th gen comes out since it'll supported on 1700 socket
tbh I'd maybe even skip the DDR5 upgrade and 14th gen upgrade and wait for 15th gen. New platform so it will require a new motherboard and will likely be DDR5 only. Will cost a fair bit but would make more sense imo in the longer term
yeah thought about that, but decided to just do it now to benefit quicker, I'll prolly just skip 15th gen and wait for the 16th gen refresh which I assume they'll do
that works too. 16th gen would be what Raptor Lake is to Alder Lake but for 15th gen
Someone got a suggestion of a good controller? I prefer wireless but if there's a MUCH better for the same price then it would be ok too
Xbox controllers on PC are the most compatible and easy to setup in games
Yeah I’m sure the 15th Gen will face some kind of a delay, Intel haven’t been so good recently.
The 14th Gen will be a 5-10% improvement over 13th from what the numbers are showing that are floating around, so not too bad. Maybe even a price drop too - however I would still get a 7800X3D as it uses way, way less power & can match/beat a 13900K.
Guys 240 hz 1ms or 165 hz 0.5 ms which one is better i m playing FPS games
Do some research, you'll find neither of those mS numbers are accurate or mean anything
so i should take 240 hz right?
Are you even running the games at those high frame rates?
i dont. i ll buy a new pc i m looking for monitor
Okay, will you be running the games at those high frame rates?
Yeah bc i ll play FPS games like fortnite, Apex legends, Battlefield 1
I'd look at the kind of PC you'd need to run those games at those frame rates first of all, because you'll need a powerful PC for that depending on resolution. If you're not going to be running the games over 120fps then it's not really relevant and the response time difference is negligible.
so you want too see my PC?
wait bro i already buy a pc rtx 3060ti
Lol
Guys I have a pc
Unless it’s OLED, then it’s really 0.23ms
So the statement isn’t entirely true
165/240hz aren't to market yet though? Are they?
165Hz is a bit more common as an OC mode on monitors and 240Hz is slowly becoming more common. I have what was "world's first 4K 240Hz monitor" with the Samsung Odyssey Neo G8 (fell for the marketing like I tend to do, lol)
but yeah, OLED are the only ones reaching 1ms (and less) how? idk it's some wizardry
but I hope to some day be on OLED myself
240Hz has been out for months now on OLED. There’s in fact at least 4 brands of 240Hz OLED monitors in the 16:9 aspect ratio, all using the same LG W-OLED panel. The UW at the moment I believe are all Samsung QD-OLED panels.
It’s not wizardry. OLED can hit as low as 0.01ms and average 0.23ms easily because of the way the technology & pixels work.
https://www.wired.com/story/downfall-flaw-intel-chips/
More "side channel" exploits in processors: now intel (it's spectre/meltdown like, but not as you know it)
https://www.phoronix.com/news/AMD-INCEPTION you raise an Intel vulnerability and I raise an AMD vulnerability! 😄 (this time one that affects Zen 3 and Zen 4)
sounds like Intel Downfall is more severe as there is some performance penalty
Hooray! More side channel shenanigans!
are there any battle royales that are well optimized except fall guys?
Apex doesn't need that much
my pc's good, im just tired of games always stuttering
What are your specs?
rx 6650 xt, ryzen 5 5600, 16 gigs of ddr4
Should be reasonable in most of the modern BR games
If you are getting stuttering maybe try capping your FPS
https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/1895880/view/3669923275222297769?l=english yay! time to give it a go
Hey everyone, Today's update for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart on PC enables ray-tracing features on compatible AMD GPUs when using AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 23.10.23.03. We have also updated our system requirements with recommendations for AMD GPUs. This patch also includes various visual enhancements, bug fixes, optimizations and stability...
Did they lower the gpu requirements?
not sure, think they may have been updated to include AMD GPUs in the ray tracing specs. Now, to find a spot in this game where it will really shine

Finally got my new motherboard and DDR5 RAM installed, only took a bit over 2 hours because I hate doing this ☠️
Large hands and a mid tower case equals worst thing ever for PC building
And I had to break the pcie slot lock on my old motherboard, because it literally would not become unlocked🙈
Thankfully, my new motherboard has one button away from the graphics card, that I hold down to easily remove my graphics card
laughs in mini itx
☠️
It’s always those CPU power connectors. Every time
I need to get a case where the top is removable
haha, yeah tell me about it. Building a PC can be easy but there are some things that only present themselves when you have all the components and are building and I don't like that. Like having to use a large screwdriver to free an installed GPU as there was no way my hands were reaching down to free it otherwise and at the time I had a 5600X so I was in no hurry to take off the CPU cooler (even though it would have made things far easier). If I done that every time I took out the GPU I'd need a fair bit of thermal paste and a lot of confidence that the CPU doesn't come away with the cooler but luckily that isn't a problem with AM5 or Intel CPUs, though like your motherboard I too have an easy release type button so it made things hassle free
yeah PC building can be incredibly frustrating, like I'm so SO done doing it after like 12+ years, it's only gotten more annoying
and yes, when I saw my motherboard had that easy release PCIE button I was even more sold on it
it's the Asus Z690 Strix E, it's way way down in price. Other high end Z690 board's are also much cheaper now
nice, I have an Asus Strix B650E-F and kind of regret buying it as the wifi card on it is a downgrade over what I had on my old motherboard (limited to 80MHz compared to 160MHz width but does support Wifi 6E)
I don’t even want Wi-Fi on my motherboard, but every single good motherboard that’s coming out, has it included.
I’d much rather have a cheaper motherboard
At least they all have Bluetooth now
Unbelievable how expensive motherboards are now. In 2019 I finally bought a high-end motherboard for around $240.
It was the same Asus Strix E one, but older. Without discount the new one I bought started at over $400
I wish I could have ethernet as I too could then do away with wifi and save some more on a motherboard (though I'd probably still end up spending about £300). Bluetooth is meh, more so after finding out it may cause performance issues a little while back so I uninstalled the bluetooth driver and even went as far as to disable the bluetooth card (guess it is wifi/bluetooth as both are Mediatek)
Bluetooth is nice to have but for some reason when I try to use it with my wireless Xbox controller it either doesn’t work or it’ll randomly cause games to lose a massive performance for no reason
yeah, don't get me started on motherboard cost these days and the features I have lost while spending the same £300 (or so) 3 times now lol
It’s a massive rip off to build a decent computer now
You have to buy used at this point, and I don’t touch used motherboards
first motherboard when I got into bulding a PC I had was an Asus Z170 Maximus Hero Alpha paired with a 6700K. That had it all. Q-Code, great audio and a cmos clear button. Fast forward to my second motherboard, Asus Strix B550-E, that lacked the audio and a cmos clear button and now the Asus B650E-F lacks even a Q-Code...
Yeah, basically only the very high end boards have the LED codes now.
Mine does, but it also retailed for over 400 dollars
when I had all those features on the Z170 motherboard that cost me about £300 new (way back in 2016) now for the same features on a motherboard you are looking at around £700. Really is horrific
Saddest part of it all is I bet a dedicated CMOS clear button, Q-Code display and high quality audio amp and DAC barely cost more than £100 yet they are gouging us silly
I think I'm going to upgrade my kit of RAM sometime soon
It was decent when DDR5 came out, but now it definitely falls behind
I don't really need an error code display, but good audio is required
which is why I always buy Asus Strix board's, their SupremeFX audio is fantastic, I liked their sound cards in the olden days too
but you gotta spend more than you should to get it
I stuck with Asus as it was what I bought for my first motherboard and just kind of gone on to trust them since but that trust has been tested, especially when the reports of Asus motherboards exploding with Zen 4 X3D CPUs were emerging though as time has gone on I've just put it behind me as if I was to constantly worry about it I'd never be gaming or that
my next motherboard probably won't be Asus so I'll be going out of my comfort zone to try something new and hope that doesn't backfire like my most expensive CPU upgrade nearly did...
btw, idk if it is silly but I feel I may even look at upgrading my CPU early to correct the mistake I made impulse buying a 7950X3D when all I really need is a 7800X3D. Might look at replacing the 7950X3D with the 7800X3D's Zen 5 successor (provided there is one of course) but then I'll probably need new RAM as the sweet spot for Zen 5 will be higher than it was for Zen 4 (6000MHz CL30)
yeah I saw the 7950X 3D is pretty messy
have to disable some cores or something, can't really use all of them with the 3D cache
with the scheduling done through Xbox Game Bar as soon as it detects a game is being played or game mode through Windows settings is active it will park the frequency cores though there are a few games listed with exceptions that will do the opposite
said frequncy cores may still be used in certain cases though so they aren't completely disabled. Some instances where games will use more than 8 cores and 16 threads and that will activate the frequency cores as necessary but with it a latency penalty too since the way Ryzen CPU cores are designed within chiplets
Looking to throw together a cheap gaming rig but don’t want to spend much on it do you think this would be alright if I throw a gpu in it https://www.ebay.com/itm/295870355407
And add more ram over time
not sure that case will fit a lot of GPUs of today and you'd probably also have to consider upgrading the power supply
Course idk how big of a gpu I could fit in that case lol
SFF being in the name too might also further limit things
usually means small form factor
SFF usually have weird mounts for power supply’s to
is it normal to get below 30fps on a rtx 3080 in jedi survivor even after all the patches?
yeah, jedi survivor is a mess
What’s it get on series?
look at this pic I took a few weeks back. This was while running at 4K maxed settings and for the fun of it I also enabled ray tracing. Never seen such high RAM usage before and performance? well, that's to be expected without the use of FSR (or other upscaling techniques) while using ray tracing
Might be able to find a non sff that someone build already that’s used
For around same price maybe
They announced a PS4 and XB1 version of Jedi Survivor coming so that should be interesting to see how those run
if it means the specs are getting lowered then that can only be a good thing. Hopefully means upcoming patches we are about to see some nice performance increases but with Starfield less than a month away jedi survivor will probably be forgotten about for a while (unless of course a major patch releases with major improvements)
Yeah I’ve still not played it due to performance issues. Probably one I’ll come back to if they fix the issues
same with the coming back to it
won't be playing it with ray tracing active either as I just don't believe the performance hit is worth it and it will be a while before I take ray tracing seriously. If anything I'm already looking ahead to path tracing
even after the patches?
yeah, the patches really haven't offered much in terms of improving performance
i saw promo material from amd showing 100+frames so i thought they fixed it 💀
that could have been when playing at 1080p and/or high settings or using FSR, unless they mentioned specifics
there is a rumour that AMD may be about to make their Polaris (RX 400/500) and Vega GPUs legacy from September. At this time it is a rumour so take it with a pinch of salt but last driver version for support on these GPUs may be 23.9.1 or 23.8.X though part of me doubts the Vega part of the rumour as they are still being used as iGPUs in Ryzen APUs - though recently AMD has switched to RDNA 2/3 iGPUs so there may be something in this
What does it make it legacy? Stop support from all gpu driver updates?
yeah, with the exception of critical security updates these GPUs would no longer receive future day one game or new features drivers
I think Polaris has a bit more life in it especially considering Nvidia still updates even 900 series with updates. Hopefully another 3-4 years more at least.
I would say anything under 2gb ram they probably should drop
Even 750ti gets updates due to being on Maxwell still and that thing is ancient now lol
How the hell can 750ti play any modern game?
I guess for games like Overwatch and CSGO etc it would be ok
But not at a good fps for competitive shootets
Yeesh the market value of my RTX 3060 ti is so bad now lol
Going for $250 on eBay, I might sell it but may not now
Imagine it being that low in 2021, GPU market definitely more than recovered
3060Ti is not bad still
Its a pretty good card for 1080p and 1440p gaming
yeah it's still good, but the 8GB will def hamstring it soon......good thing Nvidia gave it's successor 8GB also
Not ideal yeah
For more recent games the trend is the more vram the better
mostly due to poor PC ports I'd imagine, no reason on earth for 8GB not to be enough for 1080P but we're getting there
Anyone knows what do I need to do to play with Xbox series xs controller on PC? Like on steam or something
wired series x/s controller plug and play
It's Bluetooth
U can get a xbox dongle to plug in connect all things with it
What's that
see if ur pc could see ur bluetooth controller when set to pairing mode on controller
They can pair together if that what u mean
yep
The thing is steam sees it but says it can't read it
Like is there a file or something I should download first??
did u go to settings and external game pads?
Yep
did u enable steam input for xbox controller?
It works fine with mc bedrock on the PC but when it's a steam game or something it doesn't
I did
U can get a little usb dongle that has i button on it to connect like u would on the xbox and u can connect headset at same time
Xbox 1 or 3rd party
I can connect the headset and the controller at the same time
I'm not using a console
I'm just using the controller with my PC
im using the new starfield controller it works for sleeping dogs definitive edition on steam
no
I use the same pad for both pc n xbox. Just connect to the 1 im using
i literally paired it 2 my pc and started up sleeping dogs on steam
i do the same ghost
Ok thx for your time anyway I'll try to search the issue on reddit or something
i really dont use bluetooth. i just wire the controller
Lol dont really matter aslong as it works 👍
i dont sit more than 2 feet from my xbox and pc
Yea im not that close
i like wired cause wireless connection can be flakely at times
its the most stable connection plus i dont need to use any kind of batteries in my controller
Hey, I just recently got my self a RX 580 gb, which drastically increased the amount of games i can play, and i'm looking for some story rich games, similar to CyberPunk 2077, Far cry games, or Dead Island 2, or for some third person games, it could be similar to Assassins creed franchise, or others. What are some games that look graphically beatiful, that you think i would enjoy?
Red dead redemption 2
The Great Giana Sisters - Menu Theme
i listening many time that one hour straight when i was a kid
game was good also
RX580 is about the same as a 1060 which is pretty old now but you can certainly play some older games at nice settings or less demanding newer ones.
Horizon Zero Dawn will look great and will probably run reasonably on that card with some toned down settings, same with Gears 5
https://www.tomshardware.com/news/intel-downfall-mitigation-performance-drop-linux ouch! luckily it doesn't affect Alder Lake (12th gen) or Raptor Lake (13th gen) but all the rest before it will see some performance loss. With the mitigations of other vulnerabilities in the past I'd be surprised if some CPUs run at all at this point
That's a big performance drop
I need help cuz i have xbox gamepass ultimate but when I try to get gta it says I have to connect an xbox or something like that but im on pc
Gta isnt available on pc. Only via cloud or console
I'd rather just have the vulnerability at that point
is there someone that played ready or not?
how do i find clubs on pc?
PC is BEST
no platform wars
sorry
ok hi
you more then likely wont need a psu but guarenteed wont with a 6600xt its up to you if you want i can give you some benchmarks
hmm
but the rx 6800 xt will let me play ultra 1440p
whats your cpu if i can find accuriate benchmarks i would gladly get it
i5 12400f
the 6700 can do this like i said that card is more a 4k card
you sure? benchmarks online make it seem weaker
also why the 6700 over the 6700 xt
what games do you typically play
also ya 6700xt is a great price
fortnite, forza, halo MCC, rainbow six, quake (need a huge gpu for quake.), decenders
basically game pass games
Sapphire is good iny experience
it's like 350 in america if i buy the xt off amazon
yep its sapphire or xfx for amd
i would share images but i cant
basically i found an xfx speedster rx 6700 xt for 329 rn
there psu is exactly at minimum
I have an XFX Merc 319 6900 XTXH
im getting prob a xfx 6600xt
clocks similar to 6950XT
yeah i want to play all these next gen games that rock my socks but im getting mid preformance at low 1440p 144hz
I want to get a 4090 for compute eventually
i also do virtual school so thats also why i want an upgrade... multitasking...
8+ cores is what you want for real multitasking
not bad price to do these days either
8 cores? i only have 6
i got a nice benchmark for ya
6 should also do fine
ok thanks can you share the link pls
Ryzen 5?
heres spiderman 1440p with raytracing do keep in mind raytracing tanks fps
I have a 3955 WX which is basically a rebadged EPYC lol
just dont turn on raytracing LOL
they have a i5 12400f
for gaming you want as strong single thread performance as you can get
my cpu is fine lol
yeah it is, as its 12th gen
11th and earlier may get questionable with the vuln mitigation performance impacts
im just not convinced though the 6800 xt looks WAY better
okay for mcc halo and and fortnite do keep in mind it should be on low settings to priotize fps however fortnite averages 254 fps
also the 6800 supports 650 watts
well yeah lol but the goal for my upgrade is to be able to get the highest settings possible while hitting 144
fsr or na
no? it says it's rated for 750w +
what's NA
standard 6800
means no fsr lol
oh lol
yeah i use FSR, good boost in fps for little graphical reduction
will i go over or will i be fine
well its bare minimum 650 watts but however a nice tool that could be helpful is this one moment
undervolting?
a power supply calculator should help for if your not going over
it says 600-699 but i do have a spinning hdd along with my 2tb nvme c drive
i rarely use the hdd so i should probably disconnect it just to be safe
hdds are bad anyway LOL
alright thanks just the gpu should be fine and its the price of a series x
cheaper actually
base 6800
thanks for ur help lady i really appreciate it - i'm 16 and work a minimum wage job and i'm trying to spend my money wisely as summer's over and i have to go back to school
ya if i had to be honest with you buying the pc parts would be better overall then a series x due to every xbox game comes to pc as well as it has a larger library thats seemingly endless
yeah and i use my pc for almost everything
guess my original one is gonna have to do for bedside gaming for just a bit longer
i do to actually its why i stopped paying for gamepass ultimate whats your current gpu may i ask
okay so just to clarify - i'm gonna order this specific GPU. on sale for $449
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09KW68M2G/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1
you don't know my current gpu? lol
it's a 5700 xt
if you wanna be on the same side i can recommend a power supply and youll still be paying less then a series x
meh i should probably get an upgrade ngl
but then i'd be spending crazy money...
one moment
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B4345YV7/ref=ox_sc_saved_image_4?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1 is a 850w good to shoot for or higher
let me quickly check my psu i have on pc part picker as its a tad higher brb
ya that should be good for that specific card
is it overkill though?
like - once i take out my hdd should i have enough power or is it safer to just fork up the 139 usd
nope actually it leaves some wiggle room for upgrades
example my psu i have on pc part picker is 1000 watts
jesus christ it's gonna cost me $627 usd
oof... how long until i need another upgrade??
with a 5700xt you can hold off for a bit like a few years with 1080p if you really wanted to
well - i DO want to upgrade and i don't mind spending the money. i will sell my 5700 xt to recoup some of the costs
i'm just concerned whether or not the 6800 will last me a while (3 years)
well heres a thing about pcs future proofing doesnt excist its the matter of trying to have your card for the longest you can theres some people out there with a 1080ti still
and if i'm going for the psu anyways should i go for the xt or is base fine
if you wanna spend the extra sure for 1440p
meh ill just stick with the base rx 6800 for now i think adding the psu and all that other stuff is too much for me right now - i'd be spending $800 usd
Whats your psu again
650w
Let me quickly ask one more person just to be sure
it seems very reliable
oh - one more thing
I'm going to be using 4 monitors with it
3 1080p and 1 1440p ultrawide
i hav 6800xt. i have a 850 psu though i could have gone lower like 750 or 650
What do you need 4 monitors for out of ceriousty
school
Ah that makes sense I was cerious about it
alright so it's ok? buy it?
That recommends a 750 i think it was a good buy
The only multi monitor setup I have is with my MacBook and sidecar on my iPad
Ya your fine worst case you have to undervolt it a tad
ok cool
ill buy
Dear god why is it so hot outside
cause its summer lol
I hate the summer loool
wait will the XFX Speedster SWFT319 ,Radeon™ RX 6800 Core Gaming Graphics Card with 16GB GDDR6, AMD RDNA™ 2 (RX-68XLAQFD9) be rated for 650 like is it across the board or is it different for different models of the same card
oh the website xfxforce.com says it's rated for 750w.. https://www.xfxforce.com/shop/xfx-speedster-swft-319-amd-radeon-tm-rx-6800-core
A Google search says minimum 650
but that specific manufacturer says 750
i would go higher just to be safe
Wait a second Intel....
is intel more power hungry
Is Intel a feezable option here
i use a 5600 which uses 65w
They want 1440p 144hz with fsr
Which I think a 6700xt should cover that no?
cpu not gpu
Ah why is amd so weird with there naming
I'm still almost positive a 6700xt can give the exact performance you want at a cheaper price
you sure
It will always very game by game but I am positive
there's like barely a difference lol
it be good for starfield but maybe not at 1440p144hz but we see in less than 3 weeks
yeah for RN im going to ride it out, the series s looks like better value than this lol
If the game even works at launch on anything besides high end GPUs
Do keep in mind consoles can only do 120
120 vs 144 is barely a difference
plus consoles only have 1 output
Actually can I ask a quick question
yeah
So I have a 600 watt psu https://www.xfxforce.com/shop/xfx-speedster-merc-308-amd-radeon-tm-rx-6600-xt-black this GPU says it requires a 650 howecer most say I should be good with my PSU because of the tier ratings am I good?
meh yeah I appreciate the help but I'd rather just wait for prices to lower and new stuff to come out before upgrading
I would realiscally even get a6600 just to be able to play starfield at 1080p ultra
wait til black friday and save up
I have a Rx580 its why I'm considering it oh sorry it's bright outside thought it was rumbly lool
it should be good but when comes to psu/gpu i would go higher than lower
even if i spend a bit more
i also have xfx 6800xt merc
Im on a very tight squeeze as I'm also paying someone to upgrade the GPU and psu because it's out of my comfort zone with my current case
My GPU takes priority simply because i have a rx580 but I noticed it depends on the model of the 6600xt if it requires 650 or not
and I need a GPU like now I'm pretty sure mine is dying
i was even worse than u. i was on a i5-4670k and 2gb rx 560
My current CPU is a 3600 not a bad CPU ngl
thats fine.
ya both are really good parts but its about time for my powerful rx580 to get upgraded
goated gpu
get 6600xt or 6700xt rn on us partpicker shows majority 6600xt vs 6700xt pretty much around the same price
my bro has 580
i play at 4k so i could afford to use a lower cpu cause my gpu takes on majority of the workload at 4k
the best gaming cpu is a x3d for 4k
I know but i did a full build during black friday last year i couldnt afford a x3d chip. It was either 4k card or x3d chip. I went 4k card
Far easier to upgrade a GPU
Always wiser to get better CPU over GPU imo
actually this is when im getting my monitor more then likely
at 4K the CPU hardly matters in a lot of games. It will be the GPU that will be tested to its limits
thats true but x3ds are typically great for gaming its gpu bounded then some games not many are cpu bounded
yeah, the 3D V Cache is great. 1080p and 1440p the newest CPUs can beat even Intel's very best (13900K) while being far more efficient too
Does anyone have any experience with WD Black NVMe drives? Curious what people think of them in terms or quality / reliability
they're reliabile
is pc gaming working rn for you guys?
weird question, but yes
yes
just as good as any other name brand, gen 4 drives are faster, but unless youre MAXXED out, any decent drive from a name brand (WD, Seagate, Samsung, Crucial, SanDisk, lmk what i missed) is abotu equal and should eb fine
get what is the best deal tbh
Do I need to buy the official wireless adapter to play when my pc doesn't have Bluetooth or does any Bluetooth adapter work?
I just bought a Xbox controller
from a past discussion I think the official wireless adapter is recommended otherwise I wouldn't go bluetooth as it may reduce performance and you'd be better off going wired at that point to prevent that. Still don't entirely understand how bluetooth can cause a loss in performance on PC but it happens
I use Bluetooth just fine
I would get the adapter always worked for me and I can’t connect without
I would recommend getting the wireless adapter
The official adapter is like 80 something dollars for me
They don’t seem to be in stock often for some reason. May need to shop around to find one for a reasonable price.
I wouldn't pay more than $20 to $30 for it you can find it at that price but it isnt easy. They mainly come bundled with a controller. You can also find 3rd party ones on Amazon for much cheaper.
not sure I'd trust 3rd party unless it comes with the same protocol as the official wireless adapter. Certainly something to be careful of
they wouldn't work if they didn't have the same protocol lol of course they do.
https://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Xbox-Wireless-Adapter-Windows-Packaging/dp/B0785SFKYF/ref=sr_1_3?crid=2INAV3TD6PY73&keywords=xbox+wireless+adapter&qid=1691916123&sprefix=xbox+wireless+adapter%2Caps%2C189&sr=8-3 took me 2 mins to find one and its official no box though. But no where near $80 the op was saying.
https://www.xbox.com/en-GB/accessories/controllers/xbox-wireless-controller-adapter-win10 there's also a Series X/S controller with this dongle (used the UK site) but it mentions bluetooth. This stuff is confusing
They can be found on eBay searching for a bit around £15-20 for legit ones, not sure about US
how is it confusing?
The controller support Bluetooth so you can use that
As a added option you have the "option " to buy the adapter
but that is a bundle that comes with the controller and the adapter but its cheaper than buying the controller and adapter separate
the fact it appears Xbox devices require an additional accessory for optimal connection when most motherboards should support Bluetooth out of the box but this may add latency and may lack support of some features with some wireless devices. If anything I would have thought the opposite. Adapter adding latency while the included bluetooth support being the lower latency offering since it is attached to the motherboard. That's where most of my confusion is coming from
the latency is minimum though the average jo is not going too notice. The wireless adapter exists because it covers your point about bluetooth especially when it comes too audio
that's because the dongle does not use bluetooth
it uses the Xbox Wireless Frequency
yeah, that part I remember from a similar discussion before in this channel but how come the link mentions it supports bluetooth then instead of this Xbox wireless frequency? Sounds more specific and proprietary than "oh, just use bluetooth". Not a single mention about this Xbox wireless frequency
no
it supports both. just like the second generation xbox one controllers.
Xbox consoles do not use bluetooth at all.
oh, well I think I get this a bit more now. At first I was wondering why people would even suggest an adapter over built in solution (where supported) but now it is adding up and is proof of how little I really know about bluetooth and the likes. Tbh, where possible I still prefer to be wired as there is no latency or charging of batteries required and other than a forced change to wireless (in whatever form) I will happily stay that way
also good to know in future should I decide to change my mind and want to go wireless not to use onboard bluetooth but to instead buy one of those controller + adapter bundles. Was looking at getting a new controller myself pretty soon anyway so this is good info that I would have otherwise have had no clue of again, other than the previous discussion that had me uninstall the bluetooth driver and disable bluetooth from the motherboard BIOS shortly after
in other news, Still experiencing crashes on Ratchet and Clank Rifts Apart and that's even after updating the game version and AMD Adrenalin drivers. Reported it earlier today. Only game I've had any kind of issues with since upgrading and it is frsutrating as I enjoyed what I've played of the game up until it, for whatever reason has decided to become a crash fest 😦
That’s a shame, maybe a specific setting in game causing it?
I'm not sure tbh but it happens whether I'm using RT or not and seems to be specifically happening any time the rifts pop up in the sky or I travel through the ones that can be interacted with
What are games that would be fun with the Xbox controller?
I play essentially everything except some first Person games and osu with Controller. So... All of them!
Gears 5
OSU with a controller sounds like a bad time
Yeah haha. Well I use a Controller for osu!catch and Taiko but for regular osu! and mania I definitely need a Keyboard/Mouse/Tablet
why use controller I KNOW MY RIGTS
What
Probably need to cut back on the Mt Dew
A 12 oz can of Coca-Cola contains 39 grams of sugar. A 20 oz bottle of Mountain Dew contains 77 grams of sugar

Hello .I have gamepass ultimate. Im playing overwatch 2. I dont have xbox console. How can I get hero pack for pc?
You need to log in on a console to redeem it.
Doesnt seem it needs high end gpus
Yes. However; Remember that this is the same engine Elden Ring is running on.
Don’t expect steady frame rates and even frame pacing, that’s never been something Fromsoft excels in
M o u n t a i n d e w
anyone know how to add quake 2 gamepass to adrenalin software? i cant seem to find the exe for gamepass games
nope. i have no idea where the exe file is, i dont bother with game pass/windows 10/ms store games
yeahhh. i understand. well do you know of any way to smooth out the chop on quake 2 then? my monitor is 75 hz but if i run it at 165 it's choppier than 75. even at 75 theres weird slowdowns. maybe because it's going in and out of freesync? i was hoping to add it to AMD adrenalin so i could enable enhanced sync but even the global settings wont work with it
run it at 60hz
or specifically intervals of double-even.
30/60/120/240
games downloaded from Xbox app should be found in a folder named XboxGames. In the past it took some tinkering around to get into some of these games folders but it was made easier a while back (though depending on game it may still use the older way). If Quake II is a recent release on the Xbox app its highly likely AMD won't have added the new .exe to their detection too, that will probably arrive in a newer driver (newer than 23.7.2 anyway)
Ms double down on starfield. In xbox app pc loading screens show starfield images
thanks to you i enjoy very much! even Steam has some special configuration for Xbox controller.
anyone know why i cant select my other drive to download games on?
Would that be best on a 75 Hz monitor?
I created a specific folder on my C drive and I find most of it there but not the exe. I've looked in program files and x86 program files too. But yes quake 2 enhanced just came out I think on GP
I was thinking of capping the game at 165 Hz and running enhanced sync but if AMD won't detect it I can't do it. Doesn't work from global adrenalin settings either
I could never find my exe files for my ms store/game pass games so i gave up
Yeah....my GPU expires in February and I'll probably not re up because being able to tune my games the way I want to in AMD adrenalin is important to me
what do you mean by tuning games through AMD Adrenalin? like game by game settings? if so there is some stuff to note on that
Yes. Game by game
ahh, well from what I understand games that support DirectX 12 and Vulkan can't use a lot of the options
added some indicators that might help but for DirectX 12 at least green = works, orange = works but may be certain conditions it doesn't work and red = doesn't work
This is helpful. I generally don't touch the advanced tab but I do keep v sync on at the gpu level as well as freesync. I've been lead to believe they work in tandem and not mutually exclusive? I really want to enable enhanced sync for quake 2 because I can run so much higher fps but the game can't be found and global settings don't seem to affect quake 2 thus far
I don't know why but for some reason if I have v sync off but freesync on I still get tearing. My 75 Hz monitor I cap at 70 or 72 Hz with v sync off and freesync on and I still get tearing so I just now keep v sync and freesync on at 75 Hz
enhanced sync turns off vsync and afaik with AMD GPUs you don't need vsync enabled at a driver level like is (or was) the case with Nvidia GPUs and a G Sync monitor. You also don't need to cap the framerate either with AMD, though it is optional. Enhanced sync does sound like it will be a good choice as that should reduce the tearing when framerate exceeds a monitor's refresh rate by at least 2:1 (150+ FPS : 75Hz refresh rate)
I didn't realize it had to be at least 2:1
Do you have any theories then why on Halo infinite or world of warcraft I get tearing if I set the fps to 70 with freesync on?
to my understanding it has to be 2:1, I may be wrong there but AMD also have another feature that is tied to their Freesync Premium tier monitors called low framerate compensation (or LFC for short) where you have a freesync range and I believe this is only available on monitors that support 120Hz+ this freesync range has to be at least 2.5:1 (48-120Hz range) and should the frame rate drop below 48 the refresh rate on the monitor is doubled (so 47 FPS becomes 94Hz).
As for Halo Infinite and WoW, I'm really not sure why they could be behaving that way. How are they when uncapped?
I find most games I play are choppy and tear when uncappef
what monitor you got?
ASUS - ProArt PA278QV 27" IPS WQHD Adaptive-Sync Monitor
I do also have a Samsung odyssey g5 144 hz but I really like how the pro art looks
Preload starfield on win10 tomorrow steam on aug 30th
https://www.tomshardware.com/news/amds-inception-fix-causes-up-to-54-performance-drop this is on linux but ouch!
Oof
Im serching for a game in the xbox store but i dont find it all my friends found it but idk whats wrong with my store does any one know how to fix it?
Which game also if u talking about console version this is the wrong channel for that
I hope this fix isn't required. I'd rather not cripple my CPU over some vulnerability that likely will never affect me anyways.
Sea of thieves and no me and my friends on pc
It varies a lot depending on which instructions you're using. The only thing in that test that gets hit as badly as 54% is MariaDB queries. I even wonder maybe there'll be a patch that improves that performance a little, once this mitigation is fully understood.
how do i play my xbox games on my pc?
Stream from your Xbox to the PC.
i dont want to stream from my xbox to my pc
Then you can only play the games on your PC if they are Play Anywhere titles. If not, you play them on your Xbox.
i cant find the game i want to play
Then it's probably not Play Anywhere
Then see above.
Updated specs
That’s pretty hefty specs
checks out low
very hefty and the funny this is at 4K the CPU is hardly going to make a difference. Unless of course you are running something from 2018 or later by which point the latest CPUs will have quite and improvement but I've seen benchmarks where 5600X and 5800X3D have been effectively equal at 4K while the biggest difference was in the GPUs used. 7950X3D is an absurd suggestion and I would not recommend it. Go no higher than the 7800X3D. Similar suggestion applies with the 13900K/KS. 13700K should be plenty
More heavy on the Nvidia side. 5700XT doesn’t equal a 2080 super and 3080Ti is much faster than 6800XT
something else to note with Intel CPUs, especially 12th and 13th gen is that the e cores may actually drop performance in some games too so going for the fastest CPU may not always be the best choice, unless you are ready to tinker with it a bit to get the best out of it (and that could vary from game to game quite significantly)
iirc the 3080 Ti and 6800 XT aren't that far apart but yeah. 5700 XT and 2080 Ti is off
depending on how far back that review was made AMD's results may have improved somewhat. If there were any DirectX 11 games in that comparison there was a driver that improved a lot of games performance so it would be interesting to see a follow up and see how things are today
Can someone tell me if a cooler is compatible with a Z490 chipset? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07WSDLRVP?ref_=cm_sw_r_apin_dp_ZYAKNSGX712V22YB3CDE
When looking at the spec page, it’s just telling me socket info?
That's how it works ain't it? CPU cooler has to fit the CPU socket layout. The Z490 has nout to do with it. Unless it's a chipset cooler
?
You want to remote play a game running on your PC to a tablet?
Or you want to remote play the PC Xbox App explicitly somehow?
i think remote play is only available from console to pc.
No support for Remote Play as is. You could try using a different PC screen mirroring technology, like Remote Desktop, but no guarantee that controllers would work through it.
And those techs are not necessarily tuned for gaming.
May I recommend parsec, great software that works for gaming and should to my knowledge also support controllers
I use Moonlight
I'm trying to download texas chainsaw I downloaded it nice but then it gives me a error while at 100% but the thing is I download another game it fully downloads and works so idk why Texas won't work
keep everything in #1091756150644555946 no need too ask in multiple channels 🙂
Anyone have a monitor with adaptive sync not freesync? No matter what I do I can't seem to get rid of screen tearing except with v sync
I turn on adaptive sync, turn on freesync premium in AMD software, set the fps limit to 3-5 below refresh, and I still get tearing
It's infuriating
Can PC game pass users also claim the monthly free games?
If you're talking games with gold I think that's over now anyways
its actually ends at the end of the month
only if you have ultimate
its not ending its changing too gamepass core with 25 free games instead of 2 a month
Sunlight/Moonlight should work for that
Maybe a stupid question but I barely ever play game pass on pc. Texas chainsaw massacre released today on game pass. Let's say it gets removed in a year from GP, will my progress be zeroed or saved if I purchase the game for pc later and continue then?
it will be saved to the cloud. whenver u rebuy the game u can load ur save data from the last time u played texas chainsaw massacre
Thanks 🙂
something to checka nd see if it still tears or rules it out. Set refresh rate to 60Hz (down from 75Hz) and try a game. If it still displays noticeable screen tearing then I think you may have a dud of a monitor
Even though the range is 48-75 Hz for freesync?
If I turn off my 144 Hz monitor it seems to work fine. So weird
ahh, your using two monitors? I'm kind of out of my depth past one monitor 😅 but since you have a Samsung Odyssey G5 that supports 144Hz why not use that for games? that seems like it would be the better choice out of the two monitors
agreed
No question for fps. But the pro art has better color accuracy and the picture really pops compared to the Samsung
I mostly use the Asus pro art for retro and non competitive stuff
But sometimes Halo infinite
who is playing starfield in 13 days
I wish. I want too play it on pc over my series x but im still waiting for my cablemod cable. Thankfully they put it on the site for order today but it won't arrive till mid-end of September. 😦
that sucks hope u get it soon
It's literally all I need lol. Just the darn cable.
how many 980s did u get?
i only got 1 2tb gen 4 nvme and 1 6tb hdd
I got them relatively cheap. About 140 each at the time so I figured why not.
thats around the same price i got my sk hynix p41
i still got another nvme slot left
with ur setup u probably could play starfield at 4k60 no issue on pc. i probably need fsr with my 6800xt to get 4k60
Here's hoping
I'm still using SATA for both my boot SSD and internal HDD, 500GB and 1TB respectively. Anything I need to store beyond that and it's in my Google Drive.
I have a 2TB NVMe and a 2TB USB-C SSD
I have a 2TB WD Black SN850X. Next storage upgrade I plan to get a gen 5 M.2 near it's peak speeds (16 GB/s) and 4TB while spending no more than £400 on it, ideally less but that won't happen for some time so it is one for the distant future maybe
Imo after any SSD, any speed increase is kinda moot? I've seen those loading videos of games on YouTube and the extra performance isn't really worth the extra cost. But that's the point of enthusiast equipment anyway. Pay more for that extra 1%.
Doesn't seem like good value to me is all I mean. I sort of get it with the direct streaming whatsit tech, but even then I wonder if the sustained speed is required by many games. Maybe it will in future I guess.
It's not so much the initial loading speed of the game, it's the in-game handling of data where it matters.
well I'd sure hope it is and once DirectStorage really takes off with games that can make proper use of it and scale with speeds of the faster SSDs I'd like to think there will come a time where an SSD like what I plan to upgrade sees use or I may not upgrade at all as I'd deem it a waste of money. Games are going to become more complex over time with the tech consoles have so if they eventually get to a point they are taking 20 seconds to load stuff again I want to be ahead of that and have it take ~5 seconds (when it scales properly)
Makes sense. I guess if you're building a PC right now, it would be something to consider, but if you have a working system with an SSD, probably best to just wait and see?
pretty much and installing an M.2 SSD is so much easier than all the faff involved with SATA cables while being at least 7x faster (gen 3 vs SATA). These more complex worlds could eventually make SATA SSD obsolete in strong favour with gen 3, possibly even gen 4 SSDs speeds
Unless the m.2 port is on the bottom of the board (which mine is). I'd have to strip the entire system down to get to it. Though that's what you get with mini-iTX
crazy to think gen 5 vs SATA SSD is some 29x faster. Obviously I know they won't reach exactly 16GB/s on both read and write but it won't be far off when the peak speeds start coming in and 29x the speed is crazy! 😮
As Rhinne said, for gaming, there’s a lot more factors, but I hope DS can be utilised so that real world benefits present themselves.

Nvidia Has a Driver Overhead Problem, GeForce vs Radeon...
Interesting indeed.
Not a drill: update winrar if you use it, new version fixes an exploit where opening a rar can run programs on your pc
I done one better. Uninstalled it. Isn't the first time winrar has been involved in some exploit/vulnerability that could compromise a system yet the owner expects people to buy it? not a chance. I'm sure there is a safer, better equivalent out there
It's called 7zip
https://www.reddit.com/r/cablemod/comments/15vczt9/darn_it_my_luck_ran_out/ (may contain a little profanity but no wonder, I'd have some very choice words of my own for what I think of this) how long must this go on now? even with some changes and 3rd party solutions and they still have the chance to burn out... Guaranteed if this was happening to AMD everyone and their goldfish would be calling them out and making song and dance about it. Meanwhile Nvidia and cablemods seem to be able to sweep it under the carpet and blame it all on user error. Is it seriously going to take someone's house to burn down before something is actually done about this? I'd avoid 4090 at all cost if you can until something about this is actually fixed. What a joke on a £1500+ GPU.
This is exactly why I was waiting for there 90 degree cable and not buying the normal cable and adapter. It's just another failure point. There's been dozens even before this guys.
Anyone from India brought Xbox PC game pass?
I cannot buy 🥲 tried all the payment ways even amex didn't work

I think that is a 90 degree cable (at least based off images 2 and 3)
It's the 90 degree adapter
oh, haha my bad 😅
who here plays stellaris
I've played a little bit
Anyone here played rocket league in 2014?
I did on PS Plus when it came out
Yo dm
And I can’t dm u
I don’t do DMs
@serene stratus If people don't want to DM, stop pestering them. I told you this the last time you bugged me about it.
I’m sorry
If you are sorry, stop doing it.
Also rocket league beta version came out in 2014
Gotchu
Did u have an item called gold rush?
No idea, not played in ages
Weird question can u download it bc if u have this item it will be great for me cause I want it
And if u are a good person u would give me the item I’ve been looking for, for months

But why is that a server rule
Because it is.
Have u played rocket league at all?
We're not dealing with people getting scammed. I'm not saying you are going to scam people, but the rule applies to everyone, regardless of your intentions.
Yes, I've played it. I have the platinum trophy on PS.
Why does everyone play on ps even tho this a Xbox server 😂
People can own more than one gaming plaform. It also released there first, long before Xbox, on PS+. I've played on Xbox a little too, but not as much as I did on PS.
But the main question is have u played it in 2014
I told you not to ask again.
I didn’t ask about the item
U said not to ask about the item
I asked if u played in 2014
