It's nice for portability, but I feel like the specs don't say as much as the desktop counterpart, ofc
Same.
Feel the same especially the cooling. They get very hot if u play games on them.
I use my laptop mainly for quick stuff I may want to do if the TV is in use, or if I want to use it at my desk/on the split monitor. I also use it when we're doing bot lobbies in Fortnite because my PC is connected to the same TV as the Xbox so I don't want to switch inputs back and forth.
Also when travelling, so I can keep my achievement streak going.
But with the new desktop, most proper gaming is done on there because I was able to hook it up to the TV.
Gaming laptops come in handy, but high spec ones are super noisy. The fans are louder than a PS4 when they kick in 😄
Im guessing they also get hot fast when playing games like cod
that would be no fun to listen to. I remember the PS4 fans well 😄 Why I much prefer a desktop PC over a laptop. Don't get me wrong, they are great for portability (something a desktop lacks) but that's about all. It all goes south from there really for the laptop
Plus upgrading laptop sounds very troublesome especially if some part solder directly onto the mobo
I wouldn't even dare try and upgrade laptop parts.
me neither. I've heard it can be really difficult to impossible
I've not built a PC myself for a long time and always hated doing it because I was paranoid about screwing something up or bending pins. I think the last one I actually built myself was when I had a 1060.
With these gigantic cards now and all the extra power cables and cooling needed, all kinds of different things that changed over the years, I'm well out of touch with building.
I can swap out/add more RAM and probably swap out the GPU if I get an upgrade in the future, but a full build from scratch is not something I can be bothered with any more.
Too much hassle and effort and a lot of risk if I mess it up. I'd much rather pay the extra and get a pre-built, or a custom made one.
only part I really don't like swapping when upgrading is the motherboard, the whole securing it with the 9 screws isn't an issue it's more connecting that extremely annoying 8 pin CPU cable at the top of the motherboard that usually annoys me the most. So little space to work with after you install an air cooler. 😠 If board brands could redesign that and move it near to where the 24 pin motherboard connector was it would make upgrades a breeze
I'm probably the opposite on that one. Built my own systems for over 10 years now and would be paranoid letting someone else build it for me as I like everything the way I want. Especially after watching all the Gamers nexus reviews on pre builds by these larger companies, that being said I totally understand why people decide to go with a prebuilt system.
and yeah, Rhinne I worry a lot about messing something up too. In fact, my rebuild didn't go completely smooth. I had my old motherboard remove one of the case stand offs and had a freakout moment but luckily someone on another server I know showed me how to fix that and all is good again but I feel by now, having rebuilt my PC 3 times since building it that I should be faster and able to breeze through it, yet somehow there are things that can still stop me/cause me to worry 😦
The last one I built, there was an issue with the CPU cooler. Everything looked fine, it seemed like it was properly secured, but somehow wasn't so the PC was overheating super fast and shutting down. Took me a couple of days to figure it out, then had to return the part and wait for a replacement.
I know a prebuild or custom build costs more, but I'd rather not be dealing with the hassle of troubleshooting tech issues all night when I do that all day in work, then having the hassle of dismantling, replacing parts, rebuilding. I just want to play my games.
my first PC was a prebuild and a rather poor one at that but it is what sparked me wanting to become a PC gamer and as they say, the rest is history. Even with how expensive things are becoming I don't think I'd go back now. Far too invested into it. Though I might just have to slow the upgrading down a bit, if that's possible 😅
Yeah that is understandable for sure. I think the main thing to avoid is those large OEMs like Dell on the prebuilds. They use proprietary PSUs and have some pretty poor configurations like only having single channel ram on the system reviews that I've seen. A custom build made by someone else though should be ok tho hopefully.
I went with ones from Scan for my recent PC. Same for the one I ordered for Lucy which is coming today at some point.
custom builds that give you a wide range of options for each component and having someone with say 20 years build experience behind them build it is about as good as it gets. That's the exception. I'd definitely avoid prebuilds but custom builds built by self or someone else all good. Should have a more personal and premium feel to it
Yeah and much better repairability as well.
My desktop I built 11 years ago is still fine now and a lot of my older systems due to being able to swap out parts.
nice. I think my first system's CPU would still be alright to this day as well (was only around 6 years or so ago I build it) get it a new CPU cooler etc and it would probably do something
I don't use it as my main system anymore but it is totally fine and nice to use as a backup or for old games that have issues on high thread count systems, which I notice seems to be more of an issue now with 10+ core systems on games older than 5+ years
My bit fenix prodigy ITX build I have used as a HTPC since around 2014 and that is going strong as well. Quite nice form factor just to have in the living room specifically and decent for older games and some newer ones.
there are ways around that I could suggest where you could have CPUs as recent and powerful as say the 13900KS and 7950X3D playing those older games perfectly fine but it would require some tinkering with a program called process lasso. These older games would have no clue what an E-core or second CCD is, might not even make use of hyperthreading/SMT either but you could work out the best core(s) on these CPUs and have that game run on those while disabling the E-cores/second CCD and maybe even multithreading on the fly. Would be kind of wild to see just how well these older games could run on a CPU that can reach 5GHz+ when frequency then was likely still in 3-4GHz territory
Ow yeah I am aware and is totally doable but nice to just have an old system on hand if you don’t want to fiddle around as much. Is a good suggestion tho with that tool
Just bought a nice headset, Arctis Nova 1P. Looking forward to using them.
It’s real!
Stay tuned for more 👀

They have way too many mobile stream Devices for games. First steam deck then logitech deck and now rog deck
They want to get in on the success of the switch. Can't really blame em lol
No i cant but each will put u back at least 250 to 350 usd each
is it true it has a 4090? (obviously not the full 4090) if so that is crazy. Great for warming the hands in the winter 😄
you can connect it to a 4090 egpu
Lol
ahh that might be what it was. All I remember was reading something about a handheld and a 4090 lol (and yes, I was double checking it wasn't some April fool's) ROG Ally actually looks pretty cool but knowing Asus that ROG branding is going to come at a premium. It'll cost more than the Steam Deck for sure
anyone had issues running Microsoft Flight Simulator? I can get into the menu etc but as soon as I try to load up a discovery flight it crashes on me and sends me right back to the desktop 😦 on the crash I get the suggestion that overclocking, overheating or due to a driver fault. Two of the suggestions I know aren't likely as I haven't overclocked (unless it wants to be ridiculously fussy and call me setting my RAM to DOCP II - 6000 MHz as overclocking) as for overheating neither the CPU or GPU come close to the thresholds to overheat, well below so it can only really be a driver fault...
Curious how that ROG thing compares to the Logitech G Cloud
they aren't competing products
For some kind of reason, whenever I'm using the xbox to download something from the game pass, it's really slow and my pc os really hood, ot has storage, my wifi is also good, what I mean by slow is that when I download forza 5, after 2 hours it only fownoladed 6 gb out of 135 gb
What about other apps like Steam, EA, Ubisoft Connect, Battlenet etc.. Do those have expected speed or just the Xbox App/MS store with issues?
Hello I have a question, with an Xbox can you use it like a pc?
in what way do you mean?
Like can I use an Xbox like a pc kinda if I wanted to?
there are many ways to use a PC
do you mean browsing the web? yes
editing a spreadsheet? not very well
really depends on what you want to be able to do
I was thinking school work, 3d modeling, gaming, and running my car
your car?
definitely get the PC
you too!
Perfection
No, I mean I don't want to buy the game because I have gamw pass ultimate, and some games download pretty fast, it's just the forza, what I tried is that i turned off to close the screen after time, and I started a screen saver from youtube
ive got a rtx 3050
I wonder if the patch is out for The Last Of Us yet. Was meant to be today.
still too early if I was to guess
You fixed MS flight sim yet?
yeah, think it was MSI Afterburner causing the issues so turned off the overlay and then when I turned it back on it crashed moments later so I gave up with it and uninstalled lol
Lol, I use CapFrameX, it's an alternative for afterburner 🙂
saying friday now
https://twitter.com/Naughty_Dog/status/1643025458232180737?s=20
A reminder that we will have a new hotfix live for The Last of Us Part I on PC tomorrow, and a patch on Friday.
We will share patch notes when the hotfix is live, and let you know some of what to expect in Friday's patch ahead of its launch.

I'm way too used to MSI Afterburner to switch at this point or I'd give it a go but yeah, the size of Microsoft Flight Sim and the time it took to download it all fully I had hoped for a better experience. Think the download size is about 160GB which is easily the biggest game (if you can actually call it that?) I've downloaded and it was immediately put under the spotlight due to that. Performance issues or something I just don't find interesting and it was uninstalled, just so happened it had the first but I did get to fly around a little and performance was alright but for the most part I had no idea what I was doing so just not my kind of game 😅
Plus another amd driver update for last of us optimization
I can't do flight sim games at all either. I have issues keeping plane stable and not crashing
😄 to my surprise I managed to keep the helicopter I was flying in the air but the controls were odd. A few moments where I lost control before regaining control
don't think I'd make a good pilot

If you use an game pass ultimate code, while you have game pass ultimate, it's just going to waist or it's add up for more day?
You can stack up to three years at one time.
As long as it's not a trial code, then you can add it on top of your existing subscription.
I would wait til ur active ultimate expire. Then get upto 3 years of xbox gold use ultimate code get 3 years of ultimate with conversion
What is a trial code?
Trial codes r like the ones uget from discord nitro
A code for new subscribers only to trial the service.
Ohh okay, I don't talk about 3 year inly 3 month that I won from an xbox oreo
I know, but I was letting you know how much can be stacked as you didn't specify any other details.
Alright, thanks!
Yep, just updated 🙂 thanks!
Aby improvements in last of us
Idk, I don't own it. I'll wait for a sale 🙂 haven't you updated yet?
Just saw it just b4 i left 4 work
So im still on the 3/22 amd driver rn
Glossy screen or no sale
4K 240Hz+ OLED when? I'd like to make use of Displayport 2.1 someday
4k oled at 240hz probably cost rn upwards of 2k
i’ve send my friends allot of invites they are on pc app and im on xbox console i send them the invite and they press on it and it just sends them to the home screen of the game and not actually into my game
Sweet
I will probably get the 8250x3d or later in 7 years or so
Or whatever is the equivalent to 7950x3d in 6 years
yep and I don't think it beats it. In value? sure but the 7950X3D has a different target audience to the 7800X3D. That being gamer/content creator vs just gamer and sure, I could have saved myself some £250 waiting on the 7800X3D but I was just too impatient. The wait for stock of the 7800X3D will probably be much worse than the 7950X3D so no real loss imo. It will pay itself off over time
Seems the 3D V-Cache CCD on the 7950X3D clocks a couple hundred MHz higher than the 7800X3D so technically when the software scheduler AMD implemented with Xbox Game Bar and some additional chipset driver components kicks in the 7950X3D should be the better processor overall, even if that improvement is small but if purely a gamer and looking to upgrade to the AM5 platform though take this advice and just buy the 7800X3D. Don't be like me and impulse buy. As great a processor as this may well be a large chunk of the time it will only be utilizing that 3D V-Cache CCD while the other CCD is parked (as is the software scheduling implementation)
So u reckon in 5 years they will be up to am6 and 8100 cpus at least?
Very likely on the 5 years to AM6 thing. As for what series it'll be, likely higher than 8000 series by then. If each CPU series launch is about 1 year to a year and a half with AMD, AM6 may launch as Ryzen 11000 Series. All speculative and I don't like to get into all that these days lol
They’re making that too
Rn those cost a lot
At launch, maybe, but prices always come down.
I know at launch i would assume around 1000 plus.
Sure
But then if that’s out your budget then 4K 240Hz is out of your budget.
You need pretty much the best hardware to drive that kind of display.
Windows 11 isn't good, at all.
Until my next upgrade in 5 years to 7 years. I will stay on a 4k144hz monitor.
Win11 best 11
My next upgrade is 2026
Have 5600 32 gig ram and 6800xt
Even 4090 you would have to turn some stuff down to get 4K 240fps likely or the CPU wouldn’t be able to reach it in intensive games
Yeah pretty much everyone in this channels knows your specs. 😄
Depends on the game.
4090 would obliterate most MP games on max at 4K
Yeah it does depend, like Plague tale requiem or Spider-Man I don’t think it would be possible to hold 240fps regardless on the CPU side or GPU
Those aren’t the kind of games you’d realistically expect to anyway.
Single player games u could get anyway with 60fps at the min. Shooters like cod better the fps
60fps makes my head hurt 😄
Minimum gotta be 120
Ideal is 180-240
If not I can wait a few years when hardware catches up again.
The 5090 will be a monster because brand new architecture so big gains expected, ofc it’s 1.5 years away.
Valorant, CSGO and those sorts of games would be no problem obviously. Warzone 240 fps I imagine would still be pretty hard to hold
Nah warzone would be possible imo just drop everything to High.
If this is correct it would really be pushing it at 1080p let alone 4K
Hi from pc can someone help me it wont let me change my profile picture and when i try to it keeps saying "looks like your stranded" even tho i update xbox
in xbox gamepass
it wont let me change my pfp
its been like this even since i made the account
213fps average not bad
tbh it hasn't been so great for AMD Ryzen CPU owners as there have been various bugs impacting performance since Windows 11 launched. I was even told to consider installing Windows 10 22H2 for my 7950X3D but instead opted for Windows 11 22H2 as I just prefer the latest stuff and sure enough that can come with problems but just in the same way these issues pop up I'd hope they can be fixed
Fair enough I can only speak for Intel as I’ve never had AMD
My point was a 4K 240hz tho wouldn’t make use for it on that game as even lowest settings at 4K is only 121fps avg
On the best possible config
13-900K shows 213fps
Yeah you are right on that one, got my charts mixed up there
one such issue that all hardware may be seeing right now with Windows 11 22H2 is CPU usage reporting being wrong. If you use any metrics software monitor CPU usage and it will likely stay pretty low (I've noticed it hardly pass 11% a lot of the time) and this has been a known issue afaik since the 22H2 update released
odd thing is task manager CPU usage reporting seems unaffected from what I've heard so something have clearly gone very wrong somewhere in the OS to prevent 3rd part from updating so fast or a change in how it is updated
I’m staying on W10 as well probably until 2025
I want to do that but at the same time also want the latest features so will probably end up on Windows 12, whenever that goes live publicly lol
I was the same with windows 7, there wasn’t really any compelling reason to use 8 over it and the UI on 8 was awful so just stuck with 7 until 10 came out
Not that 11 is as bad as 8 but there isn’t really any compelling reason for me to use it
Im more worried about amd cpu issues
I really want to see if the claim is true that windows 10 is more suitable for AMD CPUs because if it is I know what I'll be doing tomorrow (fresh installing Windows 10). Only feature I'd really be losing out on is wifi 6e support but since I don't make use of that it can be missed until Windows 11 is in a better state for AMD CPUs or I just wait until Windows 10 is no longer supported (2025) before skipping Windows 11
let us know
Hey guys I just wanted some help finding a good gaming laptop
Idk much about computers just need some tips if possible 🙂 btw I don’t want a pc bc im gonna get a laptop for school so why not just get one that’s good for gaming too
Is a arm architecture required to play minecraft bedrock edition?
This is a genuine question
No. It can run on x86-64 in Windows
Ok so I just need to update windows
I been having problems trying to download bedrock edition
Also how do you get arm architecture?
I mean what dictate the architecture
the CPU chip
Oh arm architecture is laptop thing?
Does gaming laptop have arm architecture?
As of last February, the Xbox Console Companion's streaming functionality was disabled. I needed this to record my Xbox One in OBS, but now that it's gone, I need to find an alternative. The newer Xbox app does have a "remote play" feature which I can use to record, but there's 3 main problems:
-
It's called Remote Play for a reason, (as far as I know) it doesn't stream the xbox to your computer screen, it plays the game directly on your computer itself, meaning that your computer has to be powerful enough to play the xbox games. My computer is not powerful enough to play xbox games.
-
It isn't showing up for, I've gone through guides and forums and support pages galore, but everything is either dated or not working, so the option to start Remote Play isn't available to me in the first place.
Does anyone have any insight on fixing this or any 3rd party softwares I can use to replace Xbox Console Companion's streaming?
#1 is dramatically incorrect. Remote play is playing the game on your console, just like XCC streaming did.
For #2, make sure you've enabled remote features on your console. You may need to sign out and in to your console after you do that, and you may need to quit and restart the Xbox app. But the consoles button should show up in the app after that.
I just learned that it was incorrect, multiple guides I looked at made it sound like it played the game directly on the pc
I already have remote features on, but the UI on the Xbox app has changed and all the guides I can find are outdated, there aren't any updated guides on how to do this
heys guys random question but how important is teredo tunnle thingy for the games here I can't get the thing to work will that stop me from playing online ?
Do you know how to get it to show up?
I gave you all the steps that are supposed to be necessary
you gave me nothing, you just said "here's the button" but it doesn't show up for me
Wrong. "For #2, make sure you've enabled remote features on your console. You may need to sign out and in to your console after you do that, and you may need to quit and restart the Xbox app. But the consoles button should show up in the app after that."
luckily, I just found an up-to-date guide that shows how to do it
I need to go into my profile and click on a little button on the bottom of the page that says "add console"
That's not supposed to be necessary but if it works, I'm glad.
I had remote features activated, I had everything updated, I just couldn't fine anything that told me where to go
idk what channel to ask this in but eh
whenever I start a recording (using the game bar) and put the game in full screen the recording immediately ends
how to make it not end lol
Sounds more a question for #1091756150644555946
Think I'll stay on Windows 10 until support is stopped. 11 is very buggy for me. And I was getting insane lag with COD MW2.
Hmm no issue here so far, in fact it rans games smoother for me than 10 did lately.
Turned out, that slow downloading is only with forza in the beginning and then it speed up a lot. But now when I'm trying to play the game it won't start, and I tried uninstall it and do a repair but nothing,. I even tried to reboot my laptop, and turn if off and on, any ideas?
Does laptop meet min specs of forza
Sorry my english is not the best, what?
Does your laptop meet forza minimum requirements
Yes of course
It has an i7 intel xpu, and an invide gtx for gpu
And I already played it on my laptop
That's why it's so weird
I really dont have an answer. If it meets min specs it should run. I dont know laptops. PCs yes
It's a legion y540 if it's helps
And both of my Elite Series 2 controllers won't connect to my PC. I thought out of date bluetooth but nope. Updated that. It see's it when I put it in pair mode and it seemingly connects but no input. My 50th anniversary controller is fine. That works. Just my Elite's won't. :/
Funny thing, my PS4 controllers work great. 😄
Worth getting the Xbox wireless adapter. It’s way more reliable
Even tried an old BT4 adapter and no dice.
It connects, just no input. Google time 😄
Wow!!!! I had to downgrade the controller firmware for it to work. :/
I've had no issues 😕 just the elites 2 firmware being too new for PC.
When it's updated and you try and connect to the accessories app, it says they're working to update it.
And when it's not updated, you can't use the accessories app 😕 what......
Anyone know a lot about gaming laptops ?
What’s the question?
@smoky flame look what I found !
My old benchmark from 2008
You can still download it for free & run it today after 17 years !
If anyone is interested in running a comparison you can download the 06 version for free 😄✨
😮 That's cool!
made an interesting discovery last night that made me feel like an idiot... A few days back I was installing the AMD chipset drivers while following a guide by a couple of reviewers as there are some additional setup steps for the 7950X3D and I think I installed the chipset drivers a total of 5 times trying to get the PCI driver to install. Only to last night, at about 3am go into my motherboard's BIOS and disable the iGPU and voila! Upon restart the PCI driver showed (showed as PCI device in device manager initially but a chipset reinstall fixed that) 😅
Does it matter if I connect my Xbox one s controller to my PC using a USB to USB-C connector or USB-C to USB-C? Does this controller support usb 3.0/3.1?
Can use micro usb to USBC cable if your PC doesn’t have standard A ports
It will work on any USB as they are backwards compatible.
anyone playing forza horizon 5 on steam?
I have a ps5 controller and would like to use gyro for steering, anyone know how I would set that up?
I was wondering if the ASUS - ROG Zephyrus 14" FHD 144Hz Gaming Laptop - AMD Ryzen 7 - 16GB DDR4 Memory - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 - 512GB PCIe SSD - Moonlight White is good all the things I’ve seen say so but I don’t know much 😂 so
And I was wondering if 512Gb is enough or should I upgrade it
Depends what games you want to play and how many you want installed at the same time
@smoky flame does ur pc run better with win10 or win11
still haven't tested it. Waiting to see or hear more from other users of the CPUs that might have run both. I'm only switching to Windows 10 if I hear that it can improve the overall performance vs Windows 11 and at least at this time I'm not hearing anything that suggests I should drop what I'm doing and fresh install Windows 10
Oh AMD! On the latest drivers (TLOU optimised) I'm getting 70/80FPS on MW2 2022. But if I'm downgrading the GPU driver (I miss out on FSR) I get a steady 144FPS.
there might be more to it than just the drivers with MW2 2022
Idk. But same settings apart from compiling shaders.
Not too much games installed and I watched a couple vids and it said you can basically run any game decently
14" isn't that big imo. It's a decent spec laptop but I'd go for a bigger screen. How much is it, btw?
it’s 1499 but on sale for 999
Not bad.
Very big price difference tbh
The screen was an issue but tbh if I want a big screen migjt as well get a monitor 😂
Yeah. For 1080p gaming or even on a 1440p monitor, you should be good.
I would get like a pc but I need a laptop for school and for gaming so this one covers both and I’ll just upgrade the storage
Yeah nice. I'd upgrade to a bigger SSD or get a portable SSD. But... it's good..... yes.
512GB then the OS takes say 40/50GB so you got around 450GB for games. Much easier to upgrade it.
Be sure to check though upgrading it doesn't void your warranty. You may need to open it up.
Yeah you just gotta flip it and open up the back
Oh I could get a portable one to be safer not to open it
Mobile 3060 is similar performance to 2060 desktop I think.
💀 it said I could run cyber punk but like it won’t be that good
Should be ok with DLSS enabled and 1080p medium ish settings
Would older games like rust and the forest be good
Or like sons of the forest that’s more new tho
Should be good for most older games like that
my dad used to have a laptop idk what kinda it was but it was cheap and it ran gta at 100 fps
😂😂 better than my consoles
And it was prolly a 3050 not even a 3060
GTA5 isn’t that intensive tbh
latest update for The Last of Us part 1 PC. https://feedback.naughtydog.com/hc/en-us/articles/14662356357908-The-Last-of-Us-Part-I-v1-0-2-0-Patch-Notes-for-PC
That's a lot of fixes 😮
sure is, looking forward to hearing how much (if at all) it improves the game but I don't think it is at a point where I'll be getting it myself just yet
I do have standard ports, just wanted to know if transfer speeds would be better with USB c rather than USB a (connected to the PC) if you happen to know :)
No it will be the same, the controller is only using USB2 bandwidth anyway.
is a 1080 ti worth it for 1440p gameplay?
I found one pretty cheap on facebook market place
You guys think a open box Best Buy laptop is worth it or no?
Depends what you’re playing
1080Ti while still perfectly viable is getting on a bit now. It’s on an aging architecture with more limited support for newer techniques in upcoming games.
can someone help me. i want to play assassins creed on the pc via the xbox pass but it always says that this xbox acc is already linked to another ubisoft acc. where can i see which acc is connected to what acc???
Hey, my controller wont work with my laptop, anyone know that to do? it shows that it is connected through Bluetooth but isnt working in any games or gamepad tester. im using a msi with a i9 and Gforce rtx, the controller im using is a wireless xbox one controller
mine did the same thing reconect it if still dose not work check batteres
thx, ill try that
i havent looked, i got xbox game pass the other day and so far just downloaded forza, minecraft, and flight sim
ok good games are in my opinion lets bild a zoo and hunter call of the wild are relly grate games
still doesnt work, any other tips?
what controler do you have ?
wireless xbox one controller
ok any other controler
a have a ps5 controller
cus i dont know if that one will conect
it worked for a day than stopped
take it to your local gamestop or bestbuy/game shop they may be able to fix it
alr ill see
google it to that may tell you the problem
i tried almost everything i could find on google, nothing worked
ill just take it to gamestop and see what they can do
ok have a good day
you too
i got it to work btw so if anyone has tips i dont need them anymore
I keep on finding out more about the 7950X3D and that I have somewhat set it up wrong... Had SVM mode enabled in the BIOS up until just now and since I don't make use of virtualization in any way it is safe to disable and initially I thought I needed it for the processor but I read the setup guide wrong lol and that same guide is also a little more straight forward than the one AMD sent the reviewers (that I happened to be following)
The original xbox one controller dosent have bluetooth connectivity
Yep, One S controllers and newer only have Bluetooth...
How do I complete play with friends on pc for Microsoft rewards
you play a multiplayer game thats in gamepass with people
Asphalt legends 9
I use that
Takes less than 20 mins most days to pop up
I use Halo's MP, works pretty well.
5 minutes within MP and you've got your points.
What do you guys think about the legion slim 7i 16” core i7-12700h 16gb 512 Gb ssd?
this one has a good screen the 14 inches seemed too small after seeing some comparisons tbh
Depends on the GPU that comes with it
Hello.
I'm having a problem with the "Gaming Services".
Can someone help me installing this?

I'm sad that it might be time to replace this drive soon 😅
No
funny way to benchmark CPU
That is BeamNG.Drive running at ~20 FPS with CPU rendering provided by a DirectX feature called WARP.
nice
Y’all think it’s worth it or should I go cheaper 😂 I feel like im gonna be unhappy if I go cheaper and the laptop sucks
Anyone want free Wolfenstein the new order key ? for GOG
Post it in #gaming-deals
Someone will redeem it, for sure. 😄
Yay my Windows 11 is broken 😄 can't download any Xbox game/MS store app. :/
Just got a thrustmaster for my msfs pc. It works amazing!
So a fresh install of Windows 11 and still can't download any Xbox games. :/
that sucks how about win10 version?
Yes, that's fine. ☹️
What's the issue? I had the same, but I recently fixed it. Everything was stuck on 0% downloading.
How did you fix it?
Go to windows store -> library, then click "get updates"
Even if it says there weren't any at first, loads would appear
Thing is, the store won't actually open. It's just a loading icon. The Xbox app works but won't download anything.
Have you done all windows updates?
Thats werid why xbox app works on win10 and not win11 4 u
should be able to repair and reset those apps to get them working again. Obviously try the repair option first, if it still persists then reset
Thanks SUB, that did the trick.
happy to know 🙂
I've been looking at getting a second PS4 controller but there's so many fakes about. ☹️
I bought 2, both were fake. They look real but my PS4 says it's not a genuine controller. :/
Want to get another, upgrade it's battery and use on PC....
would it not just be better to get the newer PS5 controller and use that? Only thing idk is if it is supported out the box or requires some additional setup as I just play games on PC with an Xbox One controller and that is pretty much plug and play (though there is the Xbox Accessories app to update it etc)
Thing is with the PS5 controller, the battery is very poor. I have a v2 of the DualSense and it only lasts like 5 hours. :/
I say v2 because it's the updated mechanical version. 🙂
that's no fun 😦
Yep, if I could update the battery in it, I would. But it was a massive hassle with the DualShock 4, can't imagine how hard the DualSense would be. 😄
ehh I'd rather not deal with stuff like that. I've kept my controller connected to the PC. Tried bluetooth a few times and think I prefer just sticking to playing wired. Though I might look at getting a Series X controller + play and charge kit as the left thumbstick on my current controller has seen better days as of late (excessive gaming?) 😅
What’s Zappa
Since when did NVIDIA allow VRR?
that’s across all devices afaik. Only option that seems to pop up for Nvidia hardware is the one above it, Hardware-accelerated GPU Scheduling (often referred to as HAGS)
First time I'm seeing VRR with an NVIDIA GPU. I've always saw HAGS but never VRR. 😅
@signal yoke, has been muted for spamming.
Anyone know how to fix a hdmi port on Xbox series s
I have a problem sending a picture of the problem, I can't send it
that was a change with Windows 11 22H2 so I'm guessing you weren't on that version before? in the past I believe the option was there but it was turned off by default. Windows 11 turned it on by default though afaik it only kicks in on games that originally didn't support VRR or something like that so it seems pretty specific/limited use case scenario but a feature I'd keep enabled tbh. Just like the option below it (Optimizations for windowed games)

This is a channel for PC gaming. If the console is broken, send it to Microsoft to repair.
👍🏾
Do you think it’s possible to make a 1080p gaming rig for under $600? That can play most games? Not including price of windows
not sure tbh. If you mean games today there are GPUs that cost that much alone and with both RAM and VRAM requirements appearing to go up so too is the cost. Minimum on both for games released this year I'd go for is 32GB on the RAM and 12GB on the VRAM and that is to ensure you don't run into any memory related issues
If you do decide to go the used path it would probably be possible. You might get luckily checking local sales and find a good rig someone is selling off or go for used parts on ebay etc that people are selling off at a discount.
VRAM is definitely becoming a problem with Nvidia in particular. They still sell expensive cards like the 3070 which are being held back by 8GB VRAM. Doesn't seem like a worth while investment for anything lower than 12GB atm and even then that is 4070Ti money.
Oooo nice
Looking forward to that game but can’t help but feel it’s another game to “wait” on rather than pre order/buy day one
finally got my 4090 i9 13900k rig who wanna play anything pref some fps
also anyone had this "To use party chat please update to the latest version of the Xbox App." [0x899231030]
Nice! a lot of people seem to be buying gaming systems with 13900K and 4090 in them
yeah i needed one that can also handle a fair amount of tasks but its so crisp and i am in love with the graphics now but i did get the m32uc monitor by gigabyte and its very solid monitor for the price also
i was trying to get gamepass to work the way it works on my work laptop but idk why the app is seeming off idk if that makes sense
has the Xbox app been updated?
i try to it has but gamebar constantly fails to update to compare this is also win10 pro vs win 11 home so idk if that is playing a factor into the issue
oh i seem to find it out xD
I wouldn't think it can. Tried repairing and/or resetting the app within Installed apps?
repair first see if that fixes it, if that fails try the reset and then check for updates
Yall see the preformance on 2077 with path tracing? Make the 4090 preform like a 3090 max rt
RTX still drops too many FPS so PTX will taken 1-2 gens especially as it’s pretty much in BETA mode.
Oof lol
4k dlss preformance for a stable 60 without frame gen. Holy....
I'd sacrifice my fps in a heart beat to experience that at atleast 60
anyone good with pc tech that can help me
This channel should be able to help with that, hyper
Btw, I’m wondering around in Cyberpunk 2077 trying to find a good spot where I could do a direct comparison between ultra + no rt, ultra + rt and ultra + pt to see how much of a difference can be spotted but that is somewhat difficult with some of the in game advertising boards and their content lol
Anyone tried ghostwire tokyo is tsr upscaling better or around the same compared to fsr or dlss?
Wait can the 7900xtx do path tracing? Oh I can only imagine the preformance....
what performance.
Or lack thereof, from what I've been hearing.
NVIDIA cards can barely handle it native let alone AMD
it's good the tech's being used as gpu manufacturers can work towards improving the calculations, but AMD's Ray-Accelerator design is terrible for RT performance compared to NVIDIA's dedicated sections of the die
I need to get further into the game to see as I've not actually properly started until today, but the benchmark and the intro run perfectly fine for me. I don't know what is different between my PC and those who are testing it, but I had no problems.
but also "can" work towards, doesn't mean "will" as we've seen with NVIDIA's complete lack of pushing VRAM up
it mostly just feels like a way to force DLSS adoption. since running at native requires more vram, adding RT requires even more VRAM (significantly more) they can just keep VRAM low, push DLSS, and make sure the competition can't compete in that sector
definitely isn't the first time NVIDIA's done this too
With DLSS frame generation on, I'm getting a pretty steady 100fps. With it off I get 60fps
That's maxed out at 4K with path tracing on.
yep.
"why bother increasing VRAM when we can push DLSS, AMD won't be able to compete since we're not exactly competing in the natural rendering space"
But I don't understand why others online with similar specs are reporting 15fps or lower.
Ah wait, I misread Tom Warren's tweet. He says 131 with DLSS on, not 13 😄
He's running at 1440p, but I had mine running at 4K which is why I was getting around 100fps.
well without ray tracing just ultra settings at 4K I get between 60-75 FPS most of the time. Ultra with ray tracing also set to ultra but no FSR enabled that sharply drops to around 20 FPS. With FSR enabled I can get around 60 FPS (at ultra performance) and ultra settings with path tracing enabled and no FSR I get 5-10 FPS with FSR set to ultra performance bringing it up to around 35 FPS
path tracing is the final form too
hybrid, svogi, and others just don't remotely compare.
It does look nice in Cyberpunk, I must say.
Ideal game for it with all the light sources everywhere.
Minecraft, Quake, Portal, and now Cyberpunk (not counting fan projects)
Cyberpunk's definitely the heaviest hitter
yeah, of the stuff I saw I even admit it looks stunning but that performance drop is absurd. Really got to be a way this can be better accelerated as I seriously don't see gamers wanting to play at sub-30 FPS for what may be a generation or two before it gets even remotely good
I just hope adoption of path-tracing increases since it's basically what has always came to mind whenever one thinks of "RT" other than those who only think of reflections at least.
when you say path tracing is the final form do you mean to say nothing else comes after it?
Actually...Alan Wake 2's out this year, Remedy's pretty ahead of the curve in a lot of tech, I wonder if they'll have PTRT in it
There's not really anything that can come after path-tracing (currently)
since it's acting as actual light does
RT simulates how light works, but it's usually a cast scatter of rays. path tracing calculates each and every individual ray
oh it'll for sure be in Control 2 and maybe even max payne remakes
AW2's out this year though so hard to say there
Maybe a post-launch update.
after we get path-tracing sorted then it's much easier to focus on fluid sim since RT can be used to calculate that as well.
which means smoke, fire, water, and even rain.
I think rain's the one spot where we need a lot of improvement
rain could arguably create some of the most demanding scenes a game dev has ever seen if we are talking path tracing in it's truest form. Crazy even just thinking about it that EVERY puddle and body of water could be reflecting light sources and not just that, at varying intensities too. Definitely exciting stuff ahead
path tracing already covers that
I'm not referring to light and reflections
that's entry level stuff
I'm referring to fluid dynamics
it could also be beneficial for AI as well.
since a lot of games use ray-casts for "line-of-sight" detection of objects and characters
just how "real" are games possibly going to get? 😮
using full-on RT, and Path-traced RT no less means that a character could use reflections and refractions to see movement/shadows/objects
I think the next game Nvidia may look to overdrive is Ghostwire Tokyo. Already looks great but take it to the next level with path tracing and oh wow!
eh. I don't know.
I think it'd be neat to have them work on Plague Tale Requiem with ASOBO
ooh, yeah there is that
btw, with DLSS 3/frame generation enabled on Nvidia GPUs can it also use DLAA? I heard DLAA is just DLSS without the upscaling component that can actually improve on most in game TAA implementations (at an additional cost though)
ehh it could use it too but Flight Simulator was already tough enough to get a grasp of without path tracing entering the mix lol
oh, so it can be used with DLSS? Thought it was a case of one or the other but if not, then if one wanted on an Nvidia GPU, they could have the full array of Nvidia's AI features at work (on supported cards) DLSS (quality, balanced or performance mode) + frame generation + DLAA. I got to see that in action 😮
one or the other for implementation usually

alright then I guess it's just going to release tomorrow
LOL
Was hoping to be able to carry over the game save I had on the Steam version of Ghostwire Tokyo to the PC game pass version but having no luck. Tried the manually adding it to the Xbox version folder and it isn't detecting the save 😦
yeah. they're different file formats
the only recent major game I've seen that lets you do that is Death Stranding since it has a built-in save exporter
Hey
Nvidia's Ada Lovelace roll-out continues, this time with the $599 RTX 4070, with a claimed RTX 3080-level of performance. Rich takes a look at 1440p performance, finding a card that is unspectacular vs Ampere 30-series cards but a solid enough upgrade for owners of 10-series and 20-series xx70 and xx80 GPUs. 13600k, 3060 12GB, 32GB ram, 850 watt PSU and picked out B660M Gaming X AX motherboard. think this is what I am going with for my daughter
will sort out drives closer to the time still debating how much space to get rn
Probably want at least 1TB. On the sales you can get a 2TB NVME drives at good prices
did I do alright with the choices. so many motherboards they all start looking the same 😄
Should be fine yeah. 850w psu will give room for future GPU upgrades
yeah thats the plan especially when they start using Unreal Engine 5 in the future
B660M is also a smaller motherboard just to make sure you are aware for whatever case to plan to install it in oh and with B660 you will likely need to flash a more recent BIOS to support a 13th gen CPU as that launched with 12th gen
seems the F21 BIOS for that motherboard is the earliest one that offers support for the 13600K though the latest one also has an interesting note about the 3060 so you may even want to update to that version
yeah its going in a Phanteks case
I can change it just as I said, way too many options
did it all through PartPicker and no errors came up
might be better to look at B760 or Z790 options to ensure the system will boot without requiring a BIOS update. Could be fine on B660 but just double check the CPU support part on the motherboard brand site as that will give you any additional information regarding BIOS updates
hey is somebody able to help me please

its posted if any of u lovely people will help
Can someone explain what is tsr and is it better than fsr or dlss?
it's unreal engine's own super resolution implementation I believe. As for it being better than FSR, DLSS or XeSS. Possibly better than both FSR and XeSS as it is baked into the engine but DLSS may edge it with all the bells and whistles Nvidia got going with that (AI and other stuff)
Probably test it out in ghostwire tokyo see if tsr is better than fsr
This looks cool. Definitely looking forward to this.
wow
Anyone else finding xbox games crashing like crazy on pc?
And no my system is op but it crashes all g pass games stream is fine
Steam
wut
I haven't have any games crash on me from the PC game pass in a while. Last one to have done so was probably Halo Infinite but that was back in late December or January and I may be able to put the crashing down to the state of AMD's drivers back then. This was also before the Season 3 update hit
My pc is mid. I haven’t had crashes. Probably same as other games, which is still rare for me.
why did we talk about PC things in this xbox chat
Because Xbox extends to PC gaming.
Super bugged in the settings menu atm. Can't even exit out of it or change graphics settings.
Never mind, a 2nd restart fixed it. Weird issue.
I won't be able to get it for a while personally.
Ah that's a shame, it's cheaper at the moment. More fun than I thought it would be but it's getting mixed reviews.
Seems like a few people had the same issue as me though, and restarts fix it when going into settings.
having some fun (if you could call it that, lol) on another server where we were looking at just how poor Cyberpunk 2077 with path tracing runs and this just makes me want to cry
(my system btw)
That's horrendous lmao
AMD moment
with how poor it was running I'm surprised it didn't just crash tbh lol. Never seen a game run at such low FPS. I even wanted to stop the benchmark many a time
I want to try Cyberpunk to see how my pc would run it, but I'm not interested in the game itself lol. Is there any good benchmarking tools to see how well my PC can run on the higher end?
Msi afterburner
Ah yeah ofc, totally forgot about that. Thanks 🙂
MSI afterburner won't benchmark your device.
That can just give info on FPS etc. And overclock, undervolt....... etc
If you want a decent benchmark, try the demo on the Steam store called futuremark.
Or even Uniengine superposition.
I'll look at those thanks
128 GB of RAM here I come lol
How does that cost only 207$
32GB 3200MHz DDR4 isn't really that expensive these days (though for some reason that price I'd say seems pretty high, though I'm guessing that isn't USD)
I got a 32GB 3600MHz DDR4 kit for my old 5600X over 2 years ago that iirc cost around £110
now have 32GB 6000MHz DDR5 with my 7950X3D that cost me £40 more than that DDR4 kit did
that's because it is 4 of them
oh, I missed that part lol but why 4 of those? you got a motherboard with 8 ram slots?
woah, what motherboard is it?
Asus WRX80. It can take up to a 64-core CPU and has 128 PCIe lanes
Its a HEDT/workstation platform
ooh, very nice
and Intel's Xeon got caught off guard by it lol
I'd have probably spent a fair bit more and gone for less ram sticks tbh. Doesn't DDR4 do 4x32GB 3200MHz kits that'll likely be more favourable by this hardware?
Filling all slots is the only way to maximize memory bandwidth on this because its 8-channel
I see. is this the board you got? Done a quick search and only thing and the original (one in link being II) showed https://www.asus.com/motherboards-components/motherboards/workstation/pro-ws-wrx80e-sage-se-wifi-ii/
yeah
hmm not looked into getting ECC memory? probably better for that platform
how to use a different microsoft account for xbox than is on your pv
uh oh, looks like Star Citizen has a free play until April 20th. Time to try it on my new and improved system!
anyone had issues with gaming services before? it wont let me download it
Switching to pc so I don’t get wrongfully perma banned again. Wish me luck
Word of warning. AMD's anti-lag does the opposite of what it says.
so
anyone know how to fix an issue of mouse and keyboard not working when I boot Windows? they work fin in BIOS
wired?
tried both wired and wireless, neither work, even tried ps/2
don’t need help just posting a recommendation a good gaming headphones for Cheap is the artic novas 1
Maybe a driver problem?
I wouldn't know, I can't even sign into to get into Windows
stop flexing I got a $46 Biostar T series TH67 that's god knows how old
I think it can vary game to game. Personally I'm not even 100% sure how AMD's Anti-Lag feature works/the condition(s) needed for it to work properly.
Enhanced sync is pretty straight forward. Exceed monitor's refresh rate and rather than cap FPS with Vsync that adds a latency penalty, enable Enhanced Sync and it raises the Freesync range ceiling allowing tear free gaming beyond say 120 FPS, 144 FPS and so on
Hmm I wonder if 16gb system ram is too low for SC...
well I was playing it at maxed settings and 4K and it used around 25GB RAM but resolution and settings used may alter that. Haven't really done much testing on that to find out but I'd probably still suggest at least 32GB tbh.
I'm the type that just cranks stuff to the highest settings, knowing full well it is not worth it from a performance perspective. Just wish there were guides online that could go through each setting and include visuals to spot the differences and where there is none but a decent increase in performance to be had I'd even look to drop some of those settings but to me it isn't as straight forward as to just drop from the ultra preset to high as there may be some noticeable loss in visual quality
Did they work when navigating the GUI on the windows installer using the USB boot drive? If so then you probably want to boot into safe mode and diagnose the problem as it is likely driver related.
Idk, I mainly play CoD and Fortnite and the lag/frametime was crazy. I took a screenshot. I turned it off, my FPS went from 80 to an average of 150 and I was getting 144FPS.
No more lag, too. Just smooth gameplay.
I always switch off software based “anti-lag” things
Yes, I have now. 🙂
I thought it would actually help but nope. 😄
Less is more for sure 👌
Acer nitro 5 27 or Lenovo 5 17
I think with CoD there may be some things at play as when I played previous titles setting stuff like frame caps (not vsync) via RTSS would result in a stuttery experience so perhaps they locked out adjustments like this from being made. Meaning there is no lag reducing options for those on AMD hardware within the game's settings (only Nvidia)
Is Inscryption playable on PC? It says it is on the Xbox store but isn’t listed on the Pc store
I use CapFrameX that uses RTSS. That's how I knew I had a problem because it records your gameplay. The frametime/framerate and stuttering was no joke. Turned off anti-lag and it magically fixed itself. No more stuttering and my FPS is on average the same Hz as my monitor. Win win. 😄
Can game bar clip 30 seconds or 15 seconds? Stupid question but I only ask because in the capture settings, it says it can do up to 2 hours. I have it set to the least but even 30 minutes is too long. 😄
does pc game pass have something similar to steam's shift tab?
couple things I got told about AMD Anti-Lag from asking earlier
Nice one SUB 🙂 probably why it doesn't work well with Vanguard/MW2 because they're DX12.
It’s the same thing, yeah
The actual technical reason as to why it doesn’t work with Vulkan/DX12 is because the render queue length is decided by the game engine, rather than the gpu.
This feature was super successful with DX9-DX11 titles because the default render queue length was 3, and controlled by GPU, not game. Turning this on reduced it to 1, resulting in huge latency reductions (like -66.6ms at 30 FPS). Most modern games are built to not queue that long anymore so it’s not effective, even if it were to work
Ex: Halo Infinite is DX12, so as I just explained the render queue is controlled by the game engine, not the GPU. The slipspace engine’s max render queue length is 1.5 frames. Because of how the game executes, it’s 1 frame or less. Even if the setting actually worked, it wouldn’t do anything.
definitely taking a note of this. Honestly to me feels like DirectX 12 has been somewhat of a step backwards rather than forwards
also, with Windows 11 22H2 there's the fullscreen optimization feature that expands from only supporting DirectX 12 (previously) to DirectX 10 and 11 while claiming to lower latency and some other stuff. Between that and features like Anti-Lag on a DirectX 11 API supported game would that technically be a game changer?

trying to find out what's better
Texture filter 16x vs CMP
trying to find out what CMP even means
if anyone can help that would be amazing
https://www.techpowerup.com/307353/
Dare I say it looks even better in first person
Man Forza Horizon 3 is a gem with a modern GPU. Just got an RX6600 and it’s so smooth. Full VRR support so I just maxed out the settings and let it float around 60
I got it with my Xbox years ago but never got around to playing it
Even the trigger rumble works over Bluetooth. I remember this being considered a poor port because of the performance but it’s very stable unlike most bad ports
@full flint, has been warned for spamming.
CMP is complete map pass. It is a type of texture filtering.
Finding information on CMP via Google is proving difficult. Bing AI however did get me something.
you can buy a 3 month PC gamepass code for $24 on Amazon RN 🔥
Nice
does anyone know if i can use a monitor with at least 120 hz i fi have a amd radeon rx 570 graphics card? thinking of upgrading my monitor
currently have a 60 hz monitor
my main game is Destiny 2
you likly will need to upgrade your gpu if you want 120 especiallyin destiny
ah, is there any wiggle room for a bit more hz? without upgrading? probly not
maybe 100?
not really that GPU is quite old I would at lest want a 6700XT
what resolution do you want to play at?
with how old the RX 570 is now I doubt that. Without lowering the settings some more but you could always buy a higher refresh rate monitor with the option to upgrade to a much faster GPU later. Though just be sure your power supply is good enough to handle that when the time comes and the new GPU fits in your case and all should be good from there 👍
i wanna say my power supply is either 350w or 450w i cant remember and i cant find the box it came with lmao
then you need to upgrade your power supply as well
ah i figured
not gunna lie i thought the 6700xt would be expensive lol im not really great at keeping up with the new tech amd is making, i should tho
You are lucky the 570 even works if it is a 350w psu. Probably best to work in a new build entirely if the rest of the config is more than 4 plus years old
i lied i either have a 450 or 550 my b lol
i have a ryzen 5 2600 six core CPU, raden rx 570 GPU with 4 gb, 16gb RAM and somewhere between a 450 and 550w power supply
Probably want to upgrade to a 5600x at least for modern games these days. 2600 will hold you back from most modern midrange gpus
You might be able to keep the same board if it’s supported when upgrading the cpu
true
lemme find my MOBO on newegg so i can shw u
----ASRock B450M-HDV R4.0 AM4 AMD Promontory B450 SATA 6Gb/s Micro ATX AMD Motherboard----
thats my mobo on newegg
Your likley better off just starting again and doing a new build
my bad for bombarding the caht with stuff like this, i was just curious on wat i would need for future upgrades
so a ryzen 5 5600x, rx6500xt, at least a 650w power supply
Yeah it would work. You would need to upgrade your bios version if did go that way https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/B450M-HDV R4.0/index.asp#CPU
Supports AMD AM4 Socket Ryzen™ 2000, 3000, 4000 G-Series, 5000 and 5000 G-Series Desktop Processors; 2 DIMMs, Supports DDR4 3200+(OC); 1 PCIe 3.0 x16, 1 PCIe 2.0 x1; Graphics Output : HDMI, DVI-D, D-Sub; 7.1 CH HD Audio (Realtek ALC887/897 Audio Codec); 4 SATA3, 1 Ultra M.2 (PCIe Gen3 x4 & SATA3); 6 USB 3.1 Gen1 (2 Front, 4 Rear); Realtek Giga...
is 16gb of RAM still good?
im not super tech savvy either i had a friend help me like when i was getting the parts and he helped me build it, he was tech savvy af lol
16GB of Ram is okay
It depending on what you want and going to be doing. If you stream alot and do a lot of video editing then you may want to think about 32gb RAm
should i get these parts off newegg, like last time or go somewhere else like somewehre local to me
thats up to you
i dont stream or anything like that, just wanna get some better specs for a better gaming experience
32GB is becoming more common to see as recommended now. 16GB will be ok for a while longer tho I think
if your budget could allow you to get it I'd even look at getting the 5800X3D. Pretty much the best AM4 CPU you can buy and is great for gaming though you might need a new motherboard with that as I'm not sure how well your motherboard will handle it
am i gunna want to get DDR6 ram in the future as well
Not anytime soon. DDR4 is still perfectly fine
sweet
Also if u getting amd 6000 gpu and amd 5000 cpu recommend getting ddr4 at 3600 since ryzen 5000 series work better at 3600
i mean i spent around 600 on my PC parts when i got them to build about 4 years ago so id say my PC is doing well, for wat i have
But if u planning on playing anything new like destiny 2 or starfield ur pc needs a full new build
i mean i can do Destiny 2 at 60 frames for the most part, i just have graphics settings on average or normal watever they are set on for my GPU
just when i get into aaction heavy areas that it tanks around 30 fps
but not all the time
Destiny 2 isn’t that intensive but starfield probably will be
i dont really do starfield lol, mainly Destiny 2, minecraft occsionally, diablo, grounded, i used to do warzone on PC but that was a little intensive
At the min the gpu cpu and psu needs to be replaced if u want to play and current gen and future games at a good framerate
thats wat i thought id have to upgrade at first
Yeah probably better off just starting on a fresh build if it’s multiple things that need replacing but up to you
Plus majority of new games require an ssd
so a ryzen 5 5600x, rx6500xt, at least a 650w power supply, some 16 or 32 GB of RAM 3600mhz ddr4? i problyu would new a better MOBO for all that, any good suggestions?
6500xt is garbage, not even much better than the RX570. You would want an RTX 3060 at least to last a few years
6700xt sounds better
Usually more expensive but yeah
Also look at m.2 ssd recommend either 256 to 1tb versions
U could get away with 5600 non x
https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/vRry6r here's something I configured with pcpartpicker. Not sure it is within budget but I'd say it is a solid system overall
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D, Radeon RX 6700 XT, Fractal Design Focus G ATX Mid Tower
Yeah that is a pretty good list of parts to work with. A good place to start.
i have a 6500xt with a 5600G its alright I get 1080p 60 in most games
man i wish i was working rn aaahh i just wanna build this PC NOw lmao
If you want 120FPS though i would defo not go with a 6500XT
wat would go good with a 120hz monitor or more?
yes i said before 6700XT at least
just take your time when you do get the components. It can be a little stressful but follow the manuals and nothing really should go wrong, I also feel it is very rewarding when it successfully boots into the BIOS for the first time. When I built my first gaming PC back in 2016 I'm pretty sure I shed a few happy tears when I got there 😄 since then only gone from strength to strength with my PC knowledge
yeah i wanna try to be more tech savvy
since i like trying to understand how to build computers, at least for gaming lol
Yeah just watch a how to guide on YouTube. It’s not really that difficult to put everything together
one other thing I would like to note. Be sure to have a USB with Windows 11 ready to install and another for any BIOS updates you may need for full support of your CPU. 5600 would require a later BIOS than is likely installed on the motherboard I added to the pcpartpicker link above (and it does note that!)
ahh thats where im stumped, not sure how to do the whole BIOS thing and i didnt have to buy windows 10 for my pc now cause a friend got it for me lol (same guy who helped me build PC)
im sure youtube could help
well luckily for Windows the key should be linked to your account and I believe a W10 key can be used to upgrade for free to W11. The BIOS though is pretty straight forward. Press F5 to load optimized defaults and then there's only 2-3 things I'd maybe change. DOCP support (that will enable the RAM to run at 3600MHz), disable fast boot* and disable Asus Armoury Crate (that program I found is more hassle than worth)
- optional but have read it can cause problems with certain hardware, hence its inclusion
Windows license is one key per system but you can upgrade from 10 to 11 for free on the same license
Generally new motherboard consists of a new system but sometimes you can get around that
With phone activation etc if they ask for it. Otherwise might be out of luck
if there are any other things i should know could you guys DM me when u have a chance, im gunna go for now, but i do really appreciate the help and the knowledge 🙂
sure thing
Like when you tie the key to the account, that massively helps with avoiding this
whats up?
Anyine running triples here?
pretty sure you could get by with a RX6600 no problem
i have this card but looking at what you said it seems the obvious choice if you dont wanna upgrade the PSU
the main thing is you get up to 8GB vram because you might as well stick with the RX570 otherwise
This isn’t Xbox
Some PC gaming is.
I use Xbox on PC all the time. Especially with gamepass.
I tried to download rainbow six siege from xbox gamepass, i downloaded ubisoft, i connected my xbox, but when i press install from xbox, the installer always comes up and it doesn't install solution?
Hey guys! I am having a problem with an xBox series X controller.
I have been using it for around a year no probs, I just wanted to connect it to a new PC and when its in pairing mode and I go to bluetooth and add device windows cant seem to add it. Any ideas?
I have already plugged it in via cable and that works fine
the controller is also up to date

Thanks sorry!
No worries. Figured I'd point you in the right direction 😉
Yes you'd use the app if you own them digitally and they are play anywhere titles
Whatever is yours and downloadable will be in your library
ok thx
Is gamepass always a bit of a pain when trying to update/install new games or should it be a fairly simple process? Just trying to work out whether it's a me problem or not.
It's usually fine for me, but occasionally the ea play games get weird and I have to update something
If I get a stuck download I usually just stop it and try again later and it's fine.
Damn, I think it's probably a me issue then. I get stuck at "downloading 0%" often when downloading from the xbox app.
Yeah, I may just have to try again later. I've had things download previously but honestly not super sure how they worked and current ones don't.
Yeah it should not be like that. It did that to me when I first got the app, but hasn't in ages
Check your windows store, just in case there is an update that didn't get done automatically?
Sometimes that happens to me . No clue why
I clicked "get updates" on windows store and it downloaded some things, I restarted PC and still 0%. Thanks anyway, I may just wait. Google says it happens to quite a few people so maybe something they are aware of. In the mean time I will just patiently wait lol. Cheers
anyone got a reccomdation for a good free game? idc the genere
Personally I got a lot of time out of Apex Legends, Rocket League, CS:GO, Rec Room & Warzone
If you aren't sure what you like.. tbh i tell peeps to go play Roblox. Lots of free options
Yeah Roblox/Rec room are quite similar there. Roblox is a good suggestion I had forgotten about that too
Peeps downplay it, but there are some really fun games there
And lots of styles of games
It's a good place to test what things you might like
i play roblox on console but i might try rec room again, been a long time
Fortnite is a good shout too. Especially now there are tons of user generated UEFN maps
I forget that went F2P. May need to pick that up again
Its cute. Very fun to get the cute outfits
i already play it, can't get it to run on the computer i have rn tho
Ah that's a shame. I didn't realise how intensive Fortnite was unfortunately
Is fornite on cloud?
idk
It is, but it doesn't run super well if your connection isn't great.
I thought it was... If it is that may be a better option that trying to play natively..
If you have a good connection yeah
Shooters on cloud can be tricky unless you have a decent connection. But yeah you can always give that a go if you have one, may be worth if just trying the EUFN stuff
Most UEFN stuff I've played has been story driven rather than shooting
im really just tired of the action games, ive tried doing modded minecraft for a bit but ive been playing for a week and its getting boring, i want to play a game with story and adventure but they are all so expensive
Maybe Rec Room or Roblox then, they have tons of user generated content, may find something that you like from there
There are also games like Path of Exile that are free. Or WoW up to level 20 I think it was
hey guys i just started playing skate 3 on the xbox insider hub on pc, but my controller keeps controlling the mouse and when i play the mouse "moves" out of the screen to my other monitor, any1 got a way to deactivate mouse controlling on the controller?
if you mean like a big cursor on the screen then i had the same problem you can’t change it
Do you have steam? If yes disable the desktop configuration
I assume they are playing on cloud streaming, Skate 3 isn't on PC
hi, can i play gta san andreas with Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU G620 @ 2.60GHz 2.60 GHz , 8gb ram but just 32 mb vram?
maybe, but that's like soo low end, not even sure how you are running an OS well
okay
thanks
and my os works well
No, you can't play with that.
Need a full pc rebuild from ground up
With those specs just to make san andreas playable
NGL I'm honestly amazed you're still running that.
@smoky flame Want to see what turning off anti-lag has done to my gameplay? This was after...
This was before.......
The difference is..... very surprising. (I only pinged because of your roll and you was giving me info on it 🙂 )
Hello, I am trying to use my headphones plugged in to my xbox controllers for windows 10. My device recognized it as an output volume for "Headphones [xbox controller] " but no sound whatsoever comes from my headphones. Would appreciate any help possible for this problem
I have re-installed my audio drivers multiple times and my controller is up to date and plugged-in to my pc through a the official Microsoft wireless adapter which is not techincally BT
I'm curious if anyone knows if theres any info on Victoria 3 coming to game pass. I know it was originally planned and they changed it close to launch but idk what happened and if they'll change it now that it's been out for over 6 months.
that depends on microsoft deal with victoria 3 developer if they made any. also not every game made will come to game pass
I’m aware of that. Paradox, Victoria 3’s dev, seem to have a decent working relationship and has their other major franchises (stellaris, crusader kings, Hearts of Iron, Europa Universalis) on game pass. So I felt it was worth asking.
Hello
I have question about the Xbox app on the PC when I try to log in to it doesn't allow me to it just kicks me back so I can't log to my account on the PC for some reason
I think the answer is yes
wow, yeah that looks so much worse. I'd keep it disabled on DirectX 12 and Vulkan games and maybe see if there isn't an option within the game settings where latency can be improved. If it's not in game settings it may be hidden within the game's config file but that's a bit more advanced tweaking. Sometimes I like to dig into that stuff
Bing chiiling
@full flint Don't do that.
Because it's spammy
oooo kk my bad
Doesn't matter, it's gone
Alr
Wait whats the point of this discord server is it a offical xbox discord? I just joined a discord code
For people to chat.
Alr i have found many exploits for buying game pass ultimate where it will always be 1$ but i dont use it
Its weird but many people use it
The $1 deal no longer exists.
Yeah i knew that
Most likely because of the number of people who exploit it.
Yeah you create a new account every time the 3 month deal runs out
Yes, but the $1 deal no longer exists, so it's no longer an exploit.
I know.
So why bring it up?
Well, this isn't a place to discuss exploits (as per the server rules), so let's leave the details out, please.
I just said this is not a place to discuss exploits.
And once your trial ends, you can't play games.
I said stop discussing exploits. Why is this so hard?
Just corrected what u said
Woop him
I was joking
Have you tried reinstalling the xbox app?
Yup.didnt work either
#rules 💵 13. No buying, selling, or trading items/codes on the server. Do not ask for codes, handouts, or freebies either.
@radiant orbit no asking for handouts
So. I've been unable to get any games to download or update today. I've reinstalled the xbox app. Used repair, reset. I've restarted my computer. Ran DISM, ran SFC. I have verified the drives are still good, and that my xbox game pass subscription is paid off and up to date. It worked fine yesterday and nothing has changed since then. Anyone have any ideas?

searching for a PC case for my brother has been nothing short of a massive headache. So much choice! Trying to find one that is easy to build in (no awkward spaces where cables can only fit through when mobo not installed, for example) that also has good airflow while not costing too much or being too fancy
Why not get the same one u r using
Or at least the g360a case
that's no longer available and haven't had the best building experience with it, still considering getting a new one for myself but for now the system is built etc and it works so I'm happy. Only things on my end I may look to change is new case fans (had the ones I run currently for over 6 years) and as mentioned in this message, at the consideration phase of a new case
U r right there are so many choices 4 cases lol
It took me days to decide on the case
the case I have been considering for myself (Fractal Torrent) is still very much up in the air. Seems silly saying it considering what the rest of my system costs but £200 for a case just seems a bit excessive and no matter how many people i ask that have got that case and built in it I can't help but feel the power supply placement is a bit awkward and worry that the case fans at the bottom could cause some problems for cables but otherwise the cable management and airflow seems great
thinking of stretching to around £150 for my case and if I like what I see may also get it for my brother too. Though he is more in need of a case than I am since I already have one
what type of pc you have? like brand and graphics card
whats a good keyboard for €100
Is that the new "google it"?
DX12 mode on Division 2 brings my FPS from 200+ to a struggling 30 even on low. I don't really know the difference between 11 and 12, is it just something my machine can't/won't handle?
can an xbox one plug into a monitor with no hdmi
no. xbox one only output with hdmi plus majority of the newer monitors all have hdmi
bro i need a different monitor then?
what does ur monitor uses dp or vga?
vga and the other thing
vga is outdated which was replaced
DVI and VGA
thats a very old monitor
u better off using a tv or a new monitor
unless u want to use a converter
that's surprising, usually it would be the other way around as DirectX 12 in The Division 2 had been known for improving performance (at the cost of being really unstable). What's your system specs? That might give for better insight as to what the issue may be
My Acer gaming laptop can do 144hz but for some reason when I switch it to 144hz it’s stuck at 60fps
on what game?
Tower of fantasy & roblox I havent bought other games yet from steam
its prolly a in game setting thats keeping u capped, you did change it to 144hz in windows settings right?
Yea it should handle 1080p 144hz just fine tof has the 144hz settings but I get frame dips
ig its just poor game optimization
12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-12700K 3.60 GHz
4070TI 12GB
MSI b760I motherboard
32GB ram
ok, a system with that kind of spec really shouldn't be running into any performance issues. All drivers up to date?
As far as I am aware, I'm just checking again now. I know my GPU is up to date
only thing I have ran into with The Division 2 while running it on DirectX 12 is that it will use a lot of VRAM (where possible) I caught it wanting to use more than 16GB though this is at 4K and maxed settings
I'm getting the poor framerate even on dx11 to be honest, I saw someone on youtube get 150+ on ultra, whereas mine runs on 70 on average on ultra
I have to play on low to make sure I get 144+
that's pretty odd, same resolution as them?
Yeah 1440p
It's not just division 2, I wasn't getting as good performance out of my pc as I thought I should be. When comparing with others online something seems to be wrong with mine.
Probably hard to help without physically looking at it so I might just have to take it somewhere
hmm are the Intel chipset and firmware updates also done?
Yeah should all be up to date
Which is why I think it may be something physical now 😦
how are the temperatures of the hardware? mainly the CPU and GPU
I can get native 4K with some headroom on the 3080 for Division 2. You should be able to get similar results I would expect so something is not right there.
CPU doesn't get much more than 50c and GPU is fine around 50 before fans kick in to put it back to like 40.
that definitely seems lower than usual on the GPU end. Under load that would be up to 20c hotter
Let me quickly run D2 with msi afterburner on
Yeah sitting on ultra it's about 50c
CPU between 30-40
hold on, going to run the benchmark on my end and see what MSI Afterburner reports for me. Obviously comparisons may not be possible but curious to see what my system shows. There are a few BIOS related suggestions I might get you to try and see if it changes things any but at the same time it may take a bit of searching for me to find certain settings as I have no experience with MSI hardware
Appreciate you taking the time to help, but don't worry too much if it becomes long 🙂
this is the kind of temperatures, usage etc I get (though at 4K) and interesting the CPU usage seems bugged in game but reports correctly on the RTSS overlay
Oh is there a way to benchmark in game?
yeah, it is an option further down from graphics etc
Ah yeah CPU usage is bugged for me too so I'll start it again with afterburner open too
Well, mine doesn't say 1%
Oh hold on I don't have image perms
in my case, the 7950X3D is optimized to only use the CCD with 3D V-Cache, hence why half the cores on my end show 1% on the RTSS overlay. Those cores are effectively parked while the others are doing the heavy lifting. There's a high chance your CPU usage will be similar but you also have E-cores that may or may not affect performance in select games
ah hah! That might have just revealed the culprit to your performance issues. Intel UHD graphics are also active
Oh... shouldn't be. We had this issue when I first got the PC and I just disabled it altogether
It is disabled there
I'd recommend disabling that which is where the BIOS stuff was mentioned. Might have to go through the settings and look for something that mentions the iGPU and disable that. My limited knowledge on more recent Intel hardware might not be much help there unfortunately 😦
That's ok, thanks. I'll do some poking about now then 🙂 Appreciate your time and help!
there is another setting you might also want to look out for while in the BIOS, seems the name for Multicore Enhancement on MSI boards is Turbo Enhanced. and it may show auto or on. Turn that off as it will have the CPU run hotter and have all cores boost past Intel stock. I helped someone else out with a 13900K a couple days back and this tweak dropped their CPU temperature some 30-40c while operating within Intel specs
Oh wow ok thanks I'll check that out too!
Turning off integrated graphics from bios didn't do anything unfortunately. Not sure why CPU usage is super low, is that supposed to be the case for this benchmark?
But integrated graphics aren't coming up anymore lol
oh, that's not good 😦 CPU usage seems bugged. I'd use MSI Afterburner instead
this is really confusing me as GPU usage should effectively be up around 100%, as shown on my screenshot above
There's like 20 "CPU Usage" on MSI afterburner but they're all like 30-60%
GPU usage in MSI afterburner says around 99%
Just in-game it says less
The second spike up is where I started the benchmark
was alt tabbed out before that which is why it's so low
if you want I can try and talk you through how to get an RTSS OSD set up like I have mine so you aren't having to alt + tab all the time to monitor performance
It's ok thanks, I have a second monitor that I have it on which is fine, I was just also alt tabbing to chat here 🙂
any other games this is happening in where performance seems lower than expected or has this been somewhat of a stand out title?
Yeah all games unfortunately. I just didn't really realise it at the time just assumed because I was in 1440p I had to run things on low
I was coming from a 1070 so I didn't know how good the update would be until I started googling and youtubing other people's benchmarks
hmm, how did you install the drivers for the 4070 Ti and is this a fresh install of Windows or existing from the 1070? sorry for so many questions but there might be something worth trying
It's a complete fresh install, was a laptop previously so built this PC myself. Drivers I get from nvidia's geforce experience
ahh, the idea I had wouldn't work 😦
performance should be leagues above a 1070 mobile GPU for sure so yeah, I think it might be a good idea to send it in to someone that might be able to figure out what's up as I'm not sure there is anything else I can suggest 😦
No worries! Appreciate the help!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ht1eL8Ynkhs obviously not quite the same system as you have but I'd expect not far off this level of performance but check out those temperatures on their CPU 😄 They disable MCE (or brand equivalent setting) and their CPU temperature would drop by some 30-40c and be more reasonable lol
Recorded using NVIDIA ShadowPlay
+0-5fps without recording

SSD: LEXAR NM620 1TB NVME
GPU: ZOTAC ...
Yeah that's the one I was basing off of D2, but I've seen other people do other games with similar specs
Found the issue... 😅
Power limit for some reason on the GPU was set to 30%...
What the?! Lol has that definitely solved it? If so I’m glad you found the issue haha but why 30% power limit? That’s strange. Give some game benchmarks a try just to make sure that fixes it lol
It's definitely performing a lot better now, I'll do another benchmark in div2 quick on ultra
Definitely will play around with some stuff some more
But almost double the fps
Woo! Nice 🙂
Thanks again and apologies for my stupidity 🙂
Ashes sent to the edge of space? That sounds pretty metal
No stupidity on your end, Albzi.
Really strange how the 4070 Ti was set to 30% power limit. I definitely wouldn’t have thought to look at that haha
Oops, I meant to post that in General. 😄
I think it's interesting. but the video reel they showed didn't really showcase anything UE5.1 all that well and could be done in 4.27 even.
those requirements are interesting too
especially for those requirements. yeah
Apart from CPU, what am I missing? I have: case, mobo, ram, psu, hdd, ssd, nvme, gpu and fans.
They're attached to the PSU. OH! Thermal paste and cooler! Check, picking up the cooler tomorrow. Gotta find the paste out.
Wdym cables then?
it's decent, yeah
Thanks 😄
I can't think of anything else. since I'd assume you have all of your peripherals already, too.
Yeah
New AMD drivers are out. Patch notes:
Now I'm getting the right FPS, XDefiant is much more fun 😄
Oh, I got a beta key for that. Is it good?
Yeah I really think so
There are still a few issues with hit reg but it's tons better than it was on day 1
nice blocky water fix for RDR2
its a stretch, but does anyone know a car other than the 240SX that has an engine swap from a Mazda 787B - its called 2.4L 4 rotor - racing
I can’t send images but I’m trying to play msfs on my pc and it’s asking for the game disk, what do I do
game disk that hasnt been a thing since like the early 2000s
Exactly but I need perms that I don’t have to sent proof
Just use an image hosting website like imgur. 🙂
hello, im not sure if its the right server for this, but i have question.
if i got pc gamepass from a code then redeemed it and now its gone, did it count as my trial or i can buy trial now?\
how can i tell if i used my trial or not
Thanks l, the Image is https://ibb.co/tMwxvNZ
Apparently it can be caused by firewall issues.
For most people it was making sure that collections.md.mp.microsoft.com was allowed
It didn’t work but I uninstalled and reinstalled and so far it seems like it’s working
Although it’s not done installing yet

And I get to pick up my cooler tomorrow
and my CPU arrives Monday! 😄

boot times on AM5 are really slow 😦 (this is far from the worst btw)
anybody tried dead island 2 on pc?
hope to get it on Monday. Watched some gameplay (only the beginning really) and someone was running it on a 7900 XTX at 1440p getting around 110-150 at maxed settings
4k specs is a lie. i got 70-80fps at ultra settings no upscaling with my 6800xt.
Saw people running a 4090 at 4k max consistently in the 120-130 range at native
hello, can i play on windows 11 in assassin creed odyssey bought on xbox by microsoft store?
Anyone know why the outer worlds stutters like crazy
I'm running a rx 7900xt and a 5600x with 32gb of 3600mhz ram
However the start of the outer worlds stutters more than when I had the rtx 3060ti
Idk why since I have a high end gpu and not a mid tier like the 3060ti
"mid tier"
strange how it would be stuttering like crazy on what was (iirc) an AMD featured/optimized title (probably doesn't mean much this tbh but hey, pointing that out anyway). Running it should be a breeze with a GPU that powerful. Only two things I can think of is, CPU is holding you back or didn't this game get some enhanced edition not too long ago? May be there are some underlying performance issues with that version, if you run that. I heard it didn't launch too well, not sure how it is now

why do i get the strange feeling of maxed settings at 4k with a gpu cpu thats not enough for it? lol
huh? not sure I get where you are going
He doesn't even know himself 👍😂
Picked up my cooler 🤪 tomorrow is build day. I'm really nervous.
as I keep saying to others. Take your time when building a new PC. No need to rush it or that. Read the manuals and overall have fun with it. You got this!
aw! build is funnnnn
yes i have no idea about the endless posts of "why cant i run this at 8k 120fps with a 1060" type posts /s
Is there a program i can install on my pc to get assassins creed 2 to work with the xbox series x core controller?
it doesnt work with controller? got odyssey to valhalla on pc has controller support.
Assassins creed 1, 2, brotherhood, and revelations don't work with the series x controller all other assassins creed's work with it. i was wondering if there a extra program that makes the original one's work with the controller altiar and ezio
The older assassins creed's are a bit hard when using keyboard mouse also the game buttons make it obvious that its ment to be played on controller
There is a fix for Xbox one controllers posted on PC gaming wiki. Best bet would be to try that out https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Assassin's_Creed_II#Controller_support
I'm sad 😭😢 postman has been and no CPU delivery 🚚
Mail delivery sometimes early sometimes on time sometimes delayed. @simple terrace did u use a tracker from whever u brought cpu to track location
I know.... And yes I've been tracking it. It's been stuck in North Manchester since Friday.
Have a ROG STRIX 3090. Gonna plug my LGB9 into the GPU on my PC via HDMI. Is there any setup or configuration I have to do? I heard that if your trying to game on your TV and it’s connected to a GPU through PC, there are some things you should do. Or is it just plug and play?
afaik with Nvidia G Sync will be disabled running the GPU over a HDMI connection. As for any setup or configuration, I'm not entirely sure but make sure your TV detects the PC as a PC, it will need that to display 4K 120Hz at 10 bit. There might also be a need to change the scaling options on windows
Nothing much in particular. You will want to check your windows scaling settings and tune it to what works well for you on the larger screen setup.
Would recommend this app as well. Works really well for navigating windows using your controller as a KB/M on the TV https://store.steampowered.com/app/367670/Controller_Companion/

im really tempted to buy the 8BitDo Ultimate controller at £40 but it doesn't work on Xbox and they will probably update the Xbox version with Hall Effect sticks right after the return period ends lol
i might just bite the bullet and go for it. Even if they release a Xbox hall effect controller it will be wired only
CPU's still stuck in North Manchester. Not moving from there.
I cant make an account on xbox
Recommend me any pc games.
BF1
real gem
just dont enable DX12 cause its kinda borked. With DX11 it runs far better then many games with comparable visuals.
Still no update on my tracking info. Hopefully it gets delivered today! :/
Same with BF5 as well. I notice that some games which have a DX11/12 toggle often seem to perform better on 11.
I've heard its because they're made for DX11 and the DX12 support isn't taking advantage of the feature set
sounds plausible
That's cool. I'll try dat.
hi
Postie has been on his round and still no CPU. I give up.

What's more annoying is, the Ryzen 3600 is in stock only 4 miles away. But it's coming from Manchester.
I could've picked it up and have it built by now.
might be worth contacting the delivery company to say you've been expecting something and it hasn't arrived. Especially if it is tracked and stuff. You did select next day delivery right?
btw, anyone currently using a Zen 4 (Ryzen 7000 series) desktop CPU might want to look at updating their motherboard's BIOS. Major issue with CPUs as new as the 7800X3D burning up and it doesn't appear to be limited to the X3D CPUs either. Motherboard brands are working on releasing updates right now and so far I know Asus and MSI have released theirs. This is one BIOS update that is likely a must. Users have also been suggested to run without DOCP/EXPO profiles for the time being too

DF's Optimized Settings for Dead Island 2 are up
CEX don't do next day. It just says 48 hours and I can track it. Just the tracking isn't updating lol. It's stuck in Manchester 😭
You're brave getting from CEX 😄
Never really had an issue and it was either CEX or a sketchy person on eBay. Oh and I get a 2 year warranty with CEX. 😄
I might try and pop to a local one tomorrow, grab the one in stock and refund the one that's being posted to me. I'll see. Not in a rush, my nephew's birthday is over now anyway.
Got a GPU which was DOA from CEX before so wouldn't use them for PC parts again myself although if it's a CPU it's pretty hard to mess up.
Hopefully you will get lucky
just be sure to inspect the pins before installing it into the motherboard just to be sure none are bent in any way. It's the two things I didn't like about AM4 installation. Pins on the CPU and no bracket or that to secure the CPU into place so removing the cooler at a later time also has the chance to take the CPU with it
Yeah I suppose that is one extra thing to worry about with AMD CPUs.
I've always been on Intel which has had LGA for ages so never had to think much about that.
i think sometimes CEX are just lazy and dont test stuff properly. I would probably stick to ebay sellers with a good rating, despite the lack of warranty after the 30 day return period
then again i would rather pay £200 new vs £150 used. I only buy used if its a significant discount and looks perfect condition.
