Been around since before hdmi 2. Nothing uses it because it was a bad spec. You plug your tv in to normal Ethernet and then you plug your Blu-ray play in to your tv with hdmi and it can do its downloads via the tv’s hub… no tv manufacturer wants to be in the network switch business and no device is going to rely 100% on the tv having hdmi Ethernet. (Better example would have been a Chromecast or one of those other small ‘stick’ devices I guess)

No. The series X gets more storage (1TB instead of 512GB), a blu ray disc drive, more ram, and a MUCH more powerful graphics chip.
Series S gpu: 20 Compute Units.
Series X gpu: 52 Compute Units.

This is incorrect. The series X has a gpu with 3 times the amount of teraflops (raw gpu powaaa), 16gb of gddr6 ram, and a much more powerful 8 core cpu clocked higher. It can also output up to 8k 60 if anyone is into that. The series S also can’t play games in 4k. It can display 4k but will run at a dynamic resolution between 1080p and 1440p. Series X is much more powerful.

It’s common knowledge that the Xbox is based on PC hardware.
If you wanted to build a gaming pc to equal the Series S, it would cost you about $800 to build.
If you wanted to build a gaming pc to equal the Series X, it would cost you about $1,500 to build. The hardware between the 2 is similar, but vastly different in power.

The Series S has a much more powerful cpu than the One, so it’s not exactly one to one. If you had issues with rendering or slow down in open world games, a Series S won’t have that issue due to the much more powerful cpu.
The Series X is the one to have tbh, but it’s also the hardest to find. I used nowinstock.net to get mine. They send you notifications every time a retailer restocks an item

There’s only 1 choice for ssd storage expansion cards. The Seagate expansion cards. They’re available in 512GB ($140), 1TB ($220), and 2TB ($400) sizes. Those are the available options

So I’m a bit skeptical about them

The others work, but due to the way the Xbox Velocity architecture works, some Xbox series games can not be played off of them. You can store the games on them, but in order to play, you would have to transfer the games from the external drive to the console’s internal storage. Older games have no issue running off the external drives (anything Xbox one and older is guaranteed to run off the external drives).
If you want to be able to play all series s/x games off a storage add on, the seagate storage expansion cards are the only ones that work with the velocity architecture.

I haven't had any issues with any external hard drives, a USB 3 drive should work jus fine for older games or storage. Depending on your download speeds, it may be quicker to redownload vs copying to/from an external drive which is a bit crazy.

At some point might be more options than the Seagate cards, but not now

I wouldn't recommend doing large transfers between storage devices too often. All drives have limited read/write uses (it's an extremely high amount, making drives good for many years, so don't worry yet lol) but it's writing that causes more wear and tear. After a while your drive's performance can lessen

metro exodus gold. The devs practically give that game away multiple times per year, and it's an excellent follow-up.
