But the SS/SX will automatically apply certain improvements, like HDR where it's not natively available and other stuff.

Game Pass is a very good deal, especially if you're new to Xbox as it will give you hundreds of games from day one. I'd also recommend looking at existing titles as well as launch stuff, as a lot of them will be getting Series S/X enhancements.
For launch day stuff, you've got AC Valhalla, Dirt 5, Watch Dogs Legion (slightly before launch, but close enough).
From Game Pass there's Doom Eternal, A Plague Tale Innocence, Forza 7/Horizon 4, Destiny 2, Outer Worlds, Halo Master Chief Collection, Gears of War, Minecraft etc.

Yeah the physical disc cases will say on it, in the top right. where it gives info about 4K and HDR next to that on the box will have a logo if its Smart Delivery or not

@uneven kite the story devepment is great the only bad thing is there is little character development because most characters are prob from other god gamed I'm not done with the story but it's great do far not very challenging tho I managed to beat a mission with only a combat knife on realism

That's an extremely difficult question to answer, as I like both for entirely different reasons.
If I had to make a statement, objectively, I would almost be forced to say Halo is better. It has a rock-solid foundation, simple yet complex gameplay, an enticing story, good mechanics... I could sing praises all day about Halo. CoD, on the other hand, doesn't have many praises to sing, even after having played the majority of games in the franchise. The stories are lacking, the gameplay is simple yet contrary to Halo, not at all complex.
It would honestly take me way too long (and the character limit would be hit multiple times) to do a deep dive on pitting these two franchises together. On the whole, it all boils down to what style of game you enjoy more. I personally enjoy CoD a lot more (in terms of multi-player) than Halo because of the simplicity, the (generally) modern-era combat, among other things, but Halo has the better stories.

First-party games are things like Halo, Gears, and Fable. Things made by Microsoft or made by teams owned by Microsoft. Third-party is everything else.
