So realistically after the PS5 Pro XBOX will launch the next generation. Four years is long enough. PS6 will follow soon after. But of course the arms race doesn't stop.
I propose they start developing XBOX Three Series X and PS7 before they start on the immediate next generation. That way, as soon as games start to underperform, they have something lined up.

There was never an official release date, just a "This will release by June 14th, 2023" projection like every game at that showcase.

I'm not meaning to say every gamer is like that. Heck, the only time I even care about release dates is when I decide I'm going to preorder a game, which isn't very often.   1. That has nothing to do with Xbox game studios.
  2. A global system to make adding mods to any game easier isn't what you think it would be. Mods will be specific to the game engine a game is built off of. Fallout's modding system works because of the engine it's built on. That is a custom engine. Most small creators are using an engine like Unity, Unreal, or Game Creator. In addition to the engine needing to support it, whatever type of game the developer is building would need to support extensibility. That is something that needs to be considered from the original design, and not something most game builders think about right at the start.

What are your thoughts on the expansion into AR, VR? Other studios have been really diving head on into that, but based on the showcase that we saw, that’s feeling more on the back burner [for Xbox].

I think for us, it’s just a bit of wait until there’s an audience there. We’re very fortunate that we have got these big IPs that have turned into ongoing franchises with big communities. We have 10 games that have achieved over 10 million players life to date, which is a pretty big accomplishment, but that’s the kind of scale that we need to see success for the game and it’s just, it’s not quite there yet with AR, VR.

I do have one little gripe about Banjo-Kazooie on the Nintendo Switch Online N64 app. Even if Banjo-Tooie would join the library, Stop 'n' Swop would simply not be possible, since both Kazooie and Tooie on NSO are based on the N64 originals.

The story goes back during Stop 'n' Swop's origin, where earlier N64 consoles have 10 seconds of memory after powering off the console to allow transferring items from Kazooie to Tooie. However, due to hardware changes, later revision consoles reduce the 10 second memory to just 1 second, making Rare scrap SNS entirely, and include the ice key, and the pink, blue, and yellow mystery eggs in Tooie instead.

There has not been any official announcements around COD games (or any Activision games) coming to GamePass at this time. Anything you may have heard is an unfounded rumor.

The deal will still take time to finalize and existing contracts and legal agreements may need to complete or lapse before any games can come to GamePass, if they come at all. We will not know if or when games will come to GamePass until officially announced by Xbox.

Yes and no. They ended it, but then I think it was last year (or earlier this year before they ended 360 GWG), they brought it back temporarily to add a big wave of back compat games, but now it's absolutely over.

Im having a problem. I just turned my xbox series s on and the screen is completely purple. Ive tried 3 different hdmi cables and its not working. I can hear the sound of me moving around the homescreen but the entire screen is still purple. Any idea how to fix this?

Hard reset your console. Hold the power button down until it turns off, then turn it back on. If that doesn’t work, it could be the port. I’d contact support.

I'm trying to launch Starfield through the Xbox App on PC and I'm getting a "Downloading xGB of yGB" dialog box

If you have an updated version of the Xbox App on PC, you should be seeing "Preparing" instead of "Downloading". If you see "Downloading", that's okay! The game is not redownloading entirely - it is just verifying the files needed for launch. Let the process complete and do not cancel it.
