But today when I tried to open the game.

okay bit tricky it seems. Couple of checks. Do you have fiber internet whats the speed. Are you try to install on HDD or SSD . If HDD try to install on SSD . There have been more improvements on xbox . Unlike Steam and other game clients it could be of any method they allocate storage. Its close to 100gb it needs to install. Either allocate and download or other way . Check if switching the storage helps. If it still same see if you can download any other games MS games

Not sure if this is against the rules but, on Steam when I buy a really large game and I don't want to/can't download the entire thing, I download a pirated version that has a much smaller download size and use Steam's file verification system to use those files. Can/Will/Should I be able to do this when the Xbox PC app gets file verification?

I recently redeemed a code for Game Pass on my Xbox, however when trying to get certain games like Minecraft Dungeons it still says "Join Game Pass" rather than "Install". Plenty of other games like Forza Horizons (4,5) work fine ("Install"), and I tried to find a pattern to the games where I am told to join game pass, to no avail.
There's those little icons next to the word Game Pass (the X|S), I can get some of those but not some of them, and same goes for the ones that say Game Pass but no X|S next to them.
I do know I don't get the EA Play ones, so before you ask, no, that's not the issue being described here.
Not sure if I should post this in community-support or xbox-game-pass so I'm doing it in both channels.

Yes, you can use external USB hard drives. However, they can only be used to play XB1, 360 and OG games.
Series enhanced titles can be stored on a USB HDD, but not played from there as the drive isn't fast enough. You will need to move those games to the internal, or the Seagate storage card (if you have one) to play them.
