I wouldn't rely on the Gold to Game Pass conversion either. That was supposed to be a one-time thing with the 1:1 conversion, but the checks to see if you've done it before aren't currently working, which is why you can do it more than once.

They may fix that at some point, so subsequent conversions would be at the 4:1 rate.

It doesn't really matter for Game Pass because it's the same price whether you pay for one month or three. There's no reduction in price for buying more months like they have for Gold.

Considering 12 months of Ultimate is $180, you're dreaming there pal.

Not sure how that's even remotely true. Many games have been on Game Pass for years, most games stay at least a year and any owned by XBox won't leave ever.

It remains to be seen whether the introduction of Game Pass leads to a different approach to licensing to keep the games on there longer/permanently, but for now some games are removed but rarely.

For one, I can try games to know if I actually care enough to buy it. I don't want to spend 70+ (usually 100+) for a game only to find out I dislike it, especially with the digital refund policy.

For two, Game Pass has made me play games I'd otherwise never buy.

For three, any game owned by XBox will be on Game Pass permanently, so those are multiple games I don't have to buy.

I don't buy base games only anymore, so when I buy a game, it will cost me close to 120 bucks for the version I want to buy that comes with everything, if I buy at full price, which I also don't normally do. I wait for sales. I got several games Ultimate editions for 30 bucks or less.

With Game Pass, I can buy the extra content and then buy the game later if I don't finish it before it leaves.

I have a quick question. I am new to the xbox and I downloaded FarCry 5... cool game...
it was running very fine in the beginning... but since a couple of days it seems to be super low fps... and when I move i get screen tearing (is it called vsync issues? not sure)
so my question would be how to fix that? other games still run like before... no issues there...

also... if I would re-install the game... will my progress in the game be deleted as well?

No, there is no way to do that. That overlay is all generated via very special external hardware that Digital Foundry uses for capturing the HDMI output and analyzing the output over HDMI

To change your server nickname, Discord changed it months ago. Just right click your name, click Edit Server Profile and you should find "Server Nickname" in there.
