I'd think the Zen 2 cores are more than capable of PS3 emulation from a PS5. They are way ahead of the hardware of the time back when the PS3 was new. If anything there would be some optimization hoops devs would have to jump through in order to make native work since Zen 2 works off chiplets and within each chiplet there are two CCX with 4 cores each and I doubt any game from the PS3 era would know what to do with a Zen 2 chiplet. Also can't forget RDNA 2, which would be a very different beast compared to the GPU the PS3 had too

I've not had as much time to play on the Go yet as I only got it on Tuesday and it's been spending most of the time downloading games. But the little I've played on it, it's been great.

Much bigger screen, super bright (obviously not going to compare to the SD Oled, but better than the Ally). The detachable controllers are nice, as well as the kick stand.

Although it's bigger and heavier, it doesn't feel much heavier. It's surprisingly comfortable.

Another thing I like about the Go over the Ally and Steam Deck is that it has two USB-C ports. Handy to put the charging cable in a more comfortable/convenient spot depending on what I'm doing, but I can also connect a second thing if needed.

I had a USB-C to ethernet adaptor connected to download stuff faster while charging in the other port.

The slow NVMe drives are about 4-5 times faster than SATA, and USB doesn't match SATA for speed.
The Gen 4s that XBOX and PS5 use are almost half as fast again as those slower NVMe drives.

I paid £1200 for a 6800 XT but this was during the peak of covid, scalping and chip shortages. Never doing that again, no matter how much I want to upgrade my PC hardware. Now have an even faster GPU that cost me £200 less which is just insane looking back on it all. That 6800 XT was meant to cost £699 or so (probably a bit more since it was a Red Devil AIB card)

It's not just slower loading.

Games need to be built differently to run from HDD. Files need to be duplicated to avoid too much time wasted with the drive seeking out the files.

The drives can't handle the bigger game worlds.

NVMe drives allow them to optimise the game builds more.

PS5 from what I understand is still kind of limited to gen 4 (and 5) M.2 SSDs that are at least 7GB/s on read and write but yeah, there is a lot more choice that way but limiting a gen 5 SSD to gen 4 speeds would kind of suck, especially since they are still really expensive right now. Gen 3 and 4 SSDs all fall below £100 per TB. Gen 5 don't and I'd say £100 per TB is the sweet spot. Less is even better

When I upgraded my PC earlier on in the year I picked up a 2TB WD Black SN850X for £150 (a very nice £75 per TB ) that afaik is one of the fastest Gen 4 SSDs on the market. Don't think you can really go wrong with Crucial, Samsung, Seagate or WD (Western Digital) for M.2 SSDs. They tend to release some of the fastest storages and kind of seem like the "big 4" in the storage market (sorry if I am wrong or may have missed another company)

annoying thing with HDMI 2.1 monitors is bandwidth can be limited on them just like it is on the Xbox Series X (and possibly worse limitations too) so I'd definitely double check as just because a monitor supports HDMI 2.1 it could be limited to 24 Gbps and that is half of the max bandwidth HDMI 2.1 supports and that may give a less than optimal experience.
