Yeah did one last night and it felt easy. You don't really lose anything except a little regrowth crit, and healing touch is really only used with NS. The threat reduction is kind of missed but w/ a good tank you're fine

Enchanting gives significant buffs to stays through ring enchants. Jc gives minor stat buffs. Engineering is good for bgs and world. Everything else is preference

Enchanting is the next best (for most classes) for the ring enchants. +4 Stats isn't available until P3 though.
Tailoring/LW may be better if you benefit from the crafted sets for Resto/Moonkin but are replaced eventually
LW is good if you want to be the drums bitch for the group

Gathering professions have no raid/pvp benefit.

Hello, I have a question about the feral tank. The talent "survival of the fittest" is not included in the defense, I have 415 defense, so 2.60% crit immunity, but with "survival of the fittest" there should be 5.60%. Is this a display error or is there somewhere I can see if I am crit immune? I am a TBC noob ^^

2.6% is needed for cap with SotF. That is 415 defense, 103 resilience or some combination of the two. Here is a useful WA to check https://wago.io/NacQHoIfF

Easiest way is to just mouse over defense and resil and the -crit chance should be 2.6% or more

In general, resilience is more efficient at getting uncritable, especially in later phases. Pvp bracers are ideally used every phase.

hey i saw a bunch of people talking about how energy is bugged for ferals in tbc classic, but i can't find literally any description of how it's bugged

are those complaints outdated? what even are the complaints about

1. It is changed. Everything is obsolete. Energy works like it did on classic vanilla

2. the "bug" was that energy was working as intended for a change in TBC that made it so whenever a resource regeneration rate changed, you would be refunded all resource you would have generated at that point and then start your tick fresh. Basically, if you used Evocation/Innervate, you'd get partial mana back instantly so that the full duration of your passive regen during Evo/Innervate would be at the boosted rate.

3. The unintended impact was that this also impacted druids where powershifting would cause the energy tick to reset as going from Cat>Human>Cat was considered a change in resource regeneration rate. This meant a much slower rotation unless you used some fancy workarounds

Spellstrike gets replaced in P2/T5. However, you are contesting tier with Warrior/Druid tanks so expect to not get early tokens and then have to compete with the remaining classes. Also, there is no P2 date announcement yet

TT is very good for cat and not far behind DST for bear. TT is also (relatively) weak for most other classes. Feral should never touch DST. TT doesn't need to be high priority, but it is something they would eventually want. Especially if they cat when not tanking.

Maybe a different more effective approach in your situation is to find out which prof is harder to level. afaik lw leveling can be done in a few minutes with mats. herbs will net you a constant income & I think that is more reliable than future possibilities

LW is not very good. Later it only offers drums (Phase 4) and that is assuming someone else isn't covering it.
#1 - Engineering for sappers. Great for pull threat after opening and on large trash packs. Gnomish battle chicken also for pre-buffing for 5% haste
#2 - Enchanting for +4 stats to rings starting in Phase 3 (hyjal rep)
Rest don't really make a major impact. LW boots are alright in P2 but not optimal. You'd use them if you couldn't get 100D belt

We haven't really had a priest for heals for a while; three resto shamans, two resto druids, holy pally. Change one druid for a dps, or one shaman for a dps, depending on the week.

The main damage sources are:

1. Arcane Missiles - unpredictable and bad for resto druid. good for priest/shaman/pala to be using 1.5s casts on target of target. Druid sucks here because hots aren't enough and GCD+Swiftmend too slow
2. Blinding Light - AoE for a measly 2-3k every 30-45s. Anyone can heal this up but priest circle / shaman chain heal are great. Druid pretty bad here because hots will just got sniped before they really do anything meaningful
3. Wrath soaking - consistent DTPS on consistent people if using soakers. This is a rdruids best conditions regardless of the fight

feral tanks in p4/5 are probably your best TPS options. Feral DPS can be strong but most guilds might only be bringing 1 of them to raids.

Feral is incredibly strong. Basically the best tank for anything outside KT and AoE. Doubles as a strong DPS with a more engaging rotation than most. Cons - finding a guild as a tank can be rough, trying to find one as monocat DPS is even rougher
Boomy is good and provides a lot of utility. Most guilds want one. Has threat issues despite not topping the meters
Resto is good but most don't run more than one (most guilds run 5-6 healers).

its just the issue with classic. most classes/specs are terrible. all specs of druid are terrible

from a minmax POV, druid is there for motw and faerie fire. any more than one is a waste of space

most guilds will have more than one because getting 40 people in a raid means you can't be picky

warriors, especially fury prot, scale stupidly well though so you'll always have multiple

Note: Weights are subject to change as you get more gear. My guess is the value of haste tanks for rdruid since it becomes super easy to hit the breakpoints for rdruid in SWP gear but I'm no resto.

Basically its a hybrid dps/healer used in speedrun guild. No idea if it is efficient because people are notoriously bad at minmaxing comps in TBC for speedrunning.

Short version is that there were fights in P2 that did not require a 5th healer and boomy falls a fair bit behind on DPS compared to what it actually brings. So you drop the boomy + resto by making them one build and replace that boomy slot with another DPS with better output.

DPS when you don't need a 5th healer. Heal when you do. Keep up imp FF on bossees/73s

It has its own category on WCL so you can try to look up other logs to see what they're doing

Logs are more useful. Impact from group comp and rotation has a significantly larger impact than gear. Battleshout / Enhance shammy are huge

For rotation,

1. Mangle on CD (should be between 9-10 CPM)
2. Lacerate if less than 5 stacks or to refresh (<5s is good to start lacerating due to miss/parry).
3. Swipe as filler
4. Maul

If you go to resource tab and select rage, you can see what your rage looked like and identify if it was a rage issue or just pushing the wrong buttons. Can see similar issues on hydross which is another good example since you're often rage capped while tanking.

1. Opened with swipe which is a big mistake.
2. Similar mistakes with delayed mangles just due to hitting the wrong buttons. 8 globals again (4 lacerate, 4 swipe) before hitting Maul again. With 4 globals wasted, you basically wasted an entire mangle

WeakAuras can help with improving CPM. I use Weave's Feral Bar as it puts a lot of the important info in one place (debuffs, CDs). Other's like Zia's which is just based off weaves

Hello all. I've been trying to figure out how to calculate kitty AP and DPS values from raw data, but I have to be missing something. I've read a bunch of pages about how it's calculated, but most of it is retail, not TBC (which is what I'm playing).
Talents are standard 0/44/17. Stats in caster form: Str 304, Agi 436, 472 addl AP, 829 feral AP (1060 AP in UI) => 2827 AP in cat
Then from there, how does this translate to damage range and DPS values?
Other stats are 142 hit, 42 crit, 0 expertise, 0 haste => 289.65-314.97 damage, DPS 354.94

The sims aren’t trying to just hand you the BIS gear for the phase which really is pretty reasonable considering TBC is more loot starved compared to retail

Ferals biggest strength is that you can so very solid damage when not tanking while a protP/protW are basically wishing they had something to do

Thus far, when I am soloing, surrounded, and totally lacking for AoE attacks, I find that going back onto two legs, using Tauren Stonp to buy a moment, casting Regrowth (and using a heavy bandage) to heal up and then rotate Moonfire through them before hammering down with my 2H mace... works surprisingly well until Enrage recharges.

What am I missing?

These are all WeakAuras. You would need to download the “WeakAura” addon. Then you open WeakAuras in game, go to import, go to the website urls listed and hit copy import string, then go back and paste and import.

WeakAuras are basically simple addons that do all the stuff that retail does now with flashy lights and pop ups when important stuff happens. Weaves Feral Bar is a small contained area of important cooldowns and resources. The others are other raid friendly additions.

I would also search for “Tem’s WeakAura Pack” and grab any that are relevant to the content you want to one. It’s like DBM but has more specific stuff like for trash

Idol swapping occurs at the end of your GCD and triggers a reset in your swing timer. Question has been asked a lot in classic discord and all testing and sims show that it is a net loss for both bear and cat to be idol swapping. (Also you should be using Raven Idol for Raid DPS)

There are macros for swapping weapons based on cat / bear. Those are fine. Not 100% sure if idol is different but that’s probably fine. If your goal is to just swap idols as you swap between forms then that is ok if I recall correctly. Some people try to swap between terror + other to maintain buff and that is not worth.

For Raven, it’s something you should never take off once you have it. Even as a cat it is more raid DPS to use Raven assuming a proper group than it is to use everbloom. So it doesn’t matter if bear or cat, Raven is just straight BIS for the raid. Up to you how much you want to value that over your own personal performance but if you’re making decisions like that, then expect others in the group to do the same like warriors not using sapphire for better shout.

Your best bet for actual feedback on resto is to go to the classic discord in the pins and brave the resto channel. You can get the rank they are using from the logs though.

IIRC, and it's been a very long time, BS and JC are bis for most classes because you can pick and chose your bonus. LW is also really good for the awesome wrist enchants. I'm looking it up to confirm or deny.

Alchemy: +64 Attack power through mixology, when using Flask of endless rage
Blacksmithing: 2 more sockets. Assuming ArPen gems, the bonus is 32 ArPen
Enchanting: 2x +32 AP ring enchant. Bonus: +64 Attack Power
Engineering: On use 340 Haste Rating for 10 seconds, 1 min CD. Averages out to 56.67 Haste Rating. Otherwise you would enchant +20 Agi. Total Bonus: +56.7 Haste Rating, -20 Agi
Herbalism: 2000 self-heal for 5 seconds, 3 min CD
Inscription: +64 Attack power because of the enhanced shoulder enchant
Jewelcrafting: 3x +27 ArPen gems instead of +16 ArPen. Additionally, no blue/yellow gems required as meta requirement, getting another 8 ArPen for the blue one and 16 ArPen instead of 8 Agi / 8 Crit for the yellow one. Total Bonus: +57 ArPen and -8 Agi, -8 Crit
Leatherworking: + 64 Attack power because of the enhanced wrist enchant
Mining: + 50 Stamina
Skinning: +32 Crit Rating

There is basically no reason to aim for 100% dodge. You need SWP gear to do it somewhat responsibly and at that point you’re out gearing the content so much that it doesn’t really matter.

You can see how it impacts your TPS by using the sims in the classic discord and setting DTPS to 0

resto still good in wotlk and gain some proper aoe healing with wild growth. hpal's are the dominant healer in wotlk but many guilds will still happily run whatever healers stick around

TBC restos are pretty solid. generally they are tank healer focused with just maintaining lifebloom and can supplement some raid healing with spare GCD's for lifeblooms on some raid members

In both cases, I find resto druids to be the more enjoyable healer as they are more mobile and GCD based rather than waiting on cast times

Weird question.. but when I played in burning crusade, the PvP gear for druids was best due to the fact it added stamina and armor, and it multiplied in bear form. Does anyone know if that's still a thing in Classic BC?

The PvP off pieces (bracers, boots, belt) are BIS in many phases. The set pieces (helm, chest, shoulders, gloves and legs) are usually not. Exceptions are S3 helm being an offensive side grade to T6 and there being some (highly unnecessary) offensive swaps in S4 over SWP (helm and shoulders?)

For pvp, you typically run 4p S4 and 4p T6 (SWP brings set bracers, belt and boots)

I am making a druid to prepare for Wrath and have a druid macro question:

Am trying to make a macro for shifting that also casts a spell in a form. In this case:

• If I am in caster form and hit the button, it should put me in Bear form.
• If I am in Bear form and hit the button, it should Swipe.
• If I am in Bear form and hold alt while hitting the button, it should shift me out of Bear form.
• If I am in Bear form and holt ctrl (or shift, either one is fine) while hitting the button, it should powershift me out and back into Bear form.

I can get everything but the last functionality to work right. For some reason, the powershifting part of the macro only works when it's assigned to Alt, and the Ctrl part of the macro never seems to do anything. If I hit Ctrl, it does change the icon, so I know it is detecting the input and it isn't a keyboard problem, but I have no idea WHY this macro isn't working.

Here's the current version:

/cast [mod:alt,form:1] Dire Bear Form; [mod:ctrl,form:1] !Dire Bear Form; [noform:1] Dire Bear Form; [form:1] Swipe

Even if I swap the order on the first two parts, it doesn't seem to make a difference. Only adding the exclamation point in the Alt-modified part makes it powershift (and I want that just to be a shift out rather than powershift).

Anyone know how to fix this?
