I played from jan 2005 to early wrath (i wasted money on the xpac since I played it for only a few weeks, decided to focus on drinking and meeting girls in college)

i come back for classic, then I get bored around p5 and start retail, and realize im TERRIBLE at PvE

Once I got okay gear I was still dunking on people in PvP and I plan on pushing rank S1 shadowlands, but holy shit PvE is totally different

it's actually kind of interesting, the avg player who pvps got better but not much better, still so many shitters

I cant speak for him. But min max culture ruined classic for me. And I can blame myself a lot for that for joining hardcore guild out the gates. Hindsight I wish I opted for a more casual relaxed classic outing and id probably had enjoyed it more. Its just not the same as it used to be simply put. Feels like retail wow in classic shell. Feels fake almost.

I play feral dps and farming 10+ mcps for both AQ and BWL

then dying on Satura because our rogues and pallies won’t do the stun rotation I set up for them

You can only lose rend on a boss you’ve discussed with your guild so many times before you crack

#

So more so just lack of people to sweat with (sucks farming out mana pots, runes, MCP, and the 2nd tank wipes Twins cause he said flasks on our pve server are too expensive🤔

back in the day when I played a shaman (MC, ZG, BWL, skeram only in AQ40 lol) I brought some mana pots that was it

there was no world buffs for us

#

I'd mess around in PvP and maybe drop some gold to respec when we were progressing in BWL

#

but otherwise I'd come to raid in a jank hybrid 0/30/21 spec and enhance dps on trash

#

in classic I tried to recapture that but ran into the min max and speedrun meta

#

I just refuse to farm (or buy gold) for consumes every week

#

so unlike most people, my progression in classic was actually less than vanilla (never stepped into AQ40 in classic)

#

and I had a LOT more fun raiding in vanilla than in classic

#

In TBC I didn't even raid past T4, but I hit like 1850-1900 in arena and that was more than enough for me as far as an endgame is concerned

Don't get me wrong - I started when the game was new and quit pretty early (month 1 of wrath) so I came back for classic only, and stuck around for retail when I got bored of it

I really got my fill of classic, aside from AQ40 and Naxx I did basically everything (all quests, 6 60s, one ranked to 11, many profs, etc)

I respect all sides and takes. I play in a sweaty guild and did raid with a casual one separately until Naxx. Benefits on both sides. My original dream was to play enhance shaman but my first guild was short on resto and so the vanilla tale goes of playing whichever role to keep the raid going forward

i quit because i've already been playing for 4 years and at this point it just gets tiresome to see people do the same minor mistakes that costs people hours of preparation, so my previous guild disbanded because i didn't want to be GM anymore and there was no one else proper up for the job, and without that guild i didn't see a point in playing anymore

Idk about other servers -- Mine (Incendius) is raid logging and gold buying. If you're interested in clearing content cause you haven't ever played classic, maybe. But be prepared to level by yourself, struggle to prebis or find pug raids willing to let you in without good gear. At this point, nobody wants to teach anyone or help them if they aren't already self-sufficient

Does that raid lead require all warriors to Mighty Rage potion on every boss? require all casters to flask? require all melee to have 100% uptime on jujus? If not then it's silly to require feral to MCP, Pummeler for cat is pretty sizeable but only about on par with casters flasking in terms of dps gain.

Yeah I'm guessing he could be convinced, he's usually open-minded and genuinely wants a cat for utility (and appeasing our rogue officer with crit aura). We've raided with a ret, a boomkin, and a cat in the past. Also the only "official" guild raids now are Naxx runs so I could just do alt runs to get geared before naxx anyway and hopefully will have some logs to justify myself as not a meme even without MCP.

basically the On-use effect is so big for ferals that this weapon is more DPS than even Atiesh, but it has only 3 charges and then becomes useless and has a 33% droprate from a gnomeragan boss
so you gotta loaf your bags with dozens of these meaning spending hours in gnomeragan if you want those sweet pink parses

Feral's dps is about on par with Warlock, hunter, and ele shaman, and whether or not you use MCP Rogues/fire mages/F.Warriors will still out DPS given equal skill. That being said, there are still definitely advantages bringing a feral over a rogue: easier to gear (most feral gear is trash for other classes), Only class with a brez, innervate for some of the longer fights in Naxx, and ability to offtank in a full dps spec.

Look at the graph I linked, warlock and hunter are barely ahead of feral at the highest level. It's the mediocre ferals that bring the average down. Also, having a couple of leather items that are an option for other classes isn't in the same ballpark as all warriors/rogues needing good gear + 2 raid/pvp weapons.

Please read what I wrote before you ping me, clearly said rogue is always more Dps but feral has some added utility that makes it useful and it's not far behind regardless.

It's about the guild mentality not whether it's a perfect 1 to 1 comparison. If a guild isn't fully focused on maximizing performance he will do fine without MCP assuming he learns the rotation and gets some major manas.

MCP is a bigger deal than any individual consumable or flask or world buff it makes up ~10% of your damage if you’re good and even more so if you’re not as rotationally competent.

My main gripe was you stating that competitiveness of feral so they don’t need to consume vs casters and hunters when the only reason feral can compete with them is they scale more from world buffs consumes and mcp.

No other class has a consume like MCP and it’s only comparable to world buffs. If your guild makes you get world buffs then you should farm MCP and mana potions.

Druid has been my main from end of TBC -> Current ... and in that time power shifting has changed a few times. I was playing with it on Classic last night and powershifting seems to be on GCD.
I remember in end of TBC and Wrath it was not on GCD ... is this a bug w/ classic or was that introduced in TBC?

I have some questions about raiding as cat in classic. Does elemental sharpening stones work for druids in forms (cat/bear)? I've read conflicting things about this, so would like to confirm with someone who knows.

I'm also curious about the optimal consume/food buff list for druids who's looking to min/max

I have a fair idea of what I need but would love some input from cat experts

elemetal sharpening stones dont work in form, the only ones that work in form are the consecrated ones
when it comes to consumes, the hard part is the buff cap, you should use a tool like this one to make sure you never go over 32 buffs, if you do, some buffs will be replaced :/

World buffs are the most impactful buffs, strength food, mongoose , blasted land 25 agi buff, jujus for strength and AP adn then if you still have some room for more mayeb dragonbreath chilli but chances are you're already past the cap at that point
dont forget to tick the different party buffs, HoTs, shouts, auras etc that you will get during the raid, also drinking/eating takes a buff slot etc.

Hello all. I am at level 40 and thinking to respec. I am thinking to go for Omen of Clarity, Natural Shapeshifter and Furor. I often find myself pop out of form to heal, even mid-fight (especially on 2 mobs). Can +10% damage, Omen procs, Furor offer similar damage to full feral build? I find the 1st build more "fun" and QoL. I play on PVE server, so pvp is not a concern. Thanks!

I mean that is only something you can decide yourself
If your goals is to raid in classic you might be slightly late to enjoy all of it, but there is so much more depending on what you like
And if you are planning to play in TBC it doesn't hurt to get a head start now

Just joined and a bit late on seeing this - but Mograine can deal big damage. I wear Fire Resist for the fight and prepop a greater fire resist potion since I start on him, but the other tanks in my run do not (I also tank him the longest). I take a little bit more physical damage, but the fire resist helps with the burst. I also power shift a greater shadow protection pot if I take any marks > 3. Outside of that - healers gotta be on top of things for that one.

Hi all, I've been grinding mobs as feral starting a pull with moonfire, rejuvenation, then swap to bear form and smack it down. I just dinged 18 and trained lvl 1 faerie fire and I'm wondering where that fits in the rotation. When is it worth using? Should my new rotation always be moonfire - faerie fire - rejuv - bear form? And does it overall add more damage than moonfire?

Its better once you get the one you cast in cat/bear. If you start the fight in caster form, its more helpful, but I wouldn't necessarily shapeshift out of bear/cat for leveling to cast them. You regen mana while in bear/cat so its kind of a balance of which mana spells you use vs how much you regen in bear/cat. With the right balance, you don't need to stop to drink.

You can reach him through the normal entrance as well, just takes forever to run that way

Once you exit the instance again you simply do the normal way of resetting with right clicking your portrait -> reset instances

Is what it is. Blizz doing the mass ban at this point in the game only negatively affects the Naxx raiders as it creates a volatile and unbalanced market/AH, especially on the smaller/medium pop servers. The bots just relevel and its only a matter of time until it gets back to "normal". The 3 bots you are seeing are lucky they missed the recent ban hammer though

Maybe you got lucky with your choice of server @unborn wyvern, but the market/AH is anything but balanced and stable on most servers.

In my opinion, the only way bots never getting banned will benefit an individual player is if they are buying gold. Most easily accessible gold farms get the value of their materials lowered by the massive volume of bot activity. The increased supply side volume from the bots decreases the individual players profits from these farms, but a lot of the items individuals purchase for raid aren't decreased to the same degree. In fact, on the server I played on (US-Blaumeux) the price of Flasks, firewater, jujus, and some potions have all gone up 25-40% in price since P6 started despite the aggregate demand for these items falling off a cliff after the first couple weeks. I believe this is due to the rate of gold buying going up massively during P6, although the decreased supply overall is also definitely a factor.

Something as simple as major mana pot on my server was 10g a stack of 5 pre bot ban. 35g a stack now IF (big IF, as there has been none) there are any on the servers AH at all. This is only one simple example of a basic consume that without the bots is dry on my server. Yes you can and should farm for yourself but we know the bots will be back, so why make the server suffer during weeks of absolute end game progression when it’s inevitable botting will happen is my thought.

You can imagine how volatile the market currently is with any other basic consume as well.

A 250% increase in a basic consume is a ridiculous result of banning

#

Now if blizz was somehow able to control bots before they were 60 and allow us to control our own market then this conversation is null and void. But they can’t and they haven’t, they let them run wild on the market and then at the point the market relies on the bots they pull the plug and screw the end game raiding community.

So I am leaning to the side of just let them be, because this back and forth is more detrimental to the real players imo

you can get 15 lvl from 4 hour but can take you 20 hours depenting on how efficient you are whit your routes and how you tag mobs because i have seen people actually been taking advatage in all kiting abilities they got and tricks like jursting ((or whatever it is called)) and pop the level up and cleaning entire zone of questing like it is the zone barely had any quest

Yeah feral DPS in TBC is actually pretty legit. And Feral tank is 2nd best tank i believe. So feral in general becomes super valuable. They're def not op in terms of raw damage like Locks/Hunters, but their also not too far behind.

All of the above bring a needed buff or debuff to the table that is raid wide ((if mine memory is correct))

So no matter what class you pick if you prove a raid buff in form of aura or just be a buff you got to renew and can prove a decent dps (((which most if not all in tbc can)) then you shound get a guaranteed raid spot

best thing to do is fine a good and chill guild and hang out whit them and ignore the rest of the server
you maybe strungle to finish up some raids but surely will be more fun and there will be more memorable moment

Feral rogue is the only really viable 2s comp. And depending how competitive the ladder is that would really dictate how far you can go with it. Honestly if you're not playing lock, rogue, resto druid, disc, mage in arena you're gonna have a naturally harder time

@young latch viable just fine - I tanked everything through classic from mc up throughout naxx. Sadly, elitists have this idea through rose tinted goggles that classic was hard, it wasn't. The minimum amount of dps a decently geared feral did at the time was still above the dps requirement in a 40 man raid.

@golden arch the only issue you might run into is if you manage to over cap dodge, it can bug a boss - tanked a'lar back in the day and i accidentally hit my trinket. A'lar shot up to the middle of the room, despawned, respawned and wiped the raid. It was great 🙂

The “instructions” of a screenshot of explore channels which is only viewable on PC disc and not on phone has proven to be insufficient in funnelling people with classic inquiries to the valuable sources of information. We have a moderation bot that disables any discord links, due to the high population of this server there are a ton of randoms and robots who will spam discord links. We've provided the information needed to find the channel, as well as a lot of helpful members (see above) if that doesn't suffice.

Also, in the past it seems like the discord links keep expiring, and since we don't own that discord server, we don't control the link / don't want to keep updating the pin link that has expired.

Again, it’s been proven since classic launch, the resources here for classic are insufficient, and the “instructions” in the pins are constantly insufficient for community members to get their necessary resources. The focus and priority here is for retail and thats clear, I’ll leave it alone and go home to the classic disc. Nothing personal, thanks for the response. You were super helpful when I ventured into shadowlands for 2 weeks.

You guys ever heard of a moonkin putting their 15 points into feral combat as a kind of pinch off tank for Kara? All you're getting is reduced rage cost/ 10% armor and 15% increased threat 6% crit. Getting geared up...I am mapping out how to get my pre-raid BIS in preparations for TBC. I wont likely get to raid prior to the launch, so my question is this: (Feral-adjusting to Tank for TBC)
The wowhead list for pre-raid gear goes to many different dingeons, but the Wildheart Raiment Dungeon set comes from Strat, Scholo, and LBRS. Which set would be better to get looking forward to TBC?
In other words which is greater Wildheart or the pre-raid list gear?

Check the pins for the Druid classic discord. Moonglow is most likely the spec you are going to want due to the mana efficiency. You still reach down into resto for Nature Swiftness when going moonglow so you effectively get most of the important resto talents anyways minus swiftmend.

Weapon skill doesn't matter for druids in cat/bear in classic. Cat attack speed is 1.0 and bear attack speed is 2.5. If it says "proc on hit" or something along those lines, it wont' work in form. If it's just +attack power against beasts or undead, it should work.

The second one is better. Warriors will have a better demo shout, so let them do it and we use rip as a finisher more so you lose nothing there dps wise. Savage fury isn't a huge dps increase for cat, if i recall correctly, so if you wanted pvp utility, you might drop those for utility talents, otherwise the 2nd one looks like the standard feral spec for both tank and dps.

Hello! How are feral druids(dps) doing in TBCC? Currently thinking of using Booster58 lvl on druid. Is it decent or unplayable? Focus on raiding-dung-pvp.
Also I play feral in retail and its pretty decent(pushing 15 keys easily and myth raiding), although feral isnt respectable nowadays.
So, how are feral druids dps doing in TBCC? Will I have lots of issues with joining raid/dungeons as dps role?

We didn't use rip as a finisher in classic due to debuff limits and because boss armor was close to 0 that ferocious bite did more DPS. Going into TBC, the bosses there have more armor and the debuff slot limits are are essentially removed and mangle buff to bleeds, so rip's value goes up

My current issue is that when i am mounted i directly shapeshift without even dismounting on my own. I dont want it but the only option i can click is if im flying on a mount. Also able to shapeshift to any form during any other form without shifting back to nightelf first. Also an issue sometimes

Using the form or noform conditional helps you make macros that do different stuff depending on your form
form:3 is Cat form unless you have skipped the quest to get aquatic form (in that case I think it's number 2 instead; The number of the form is always is the position of the form in your form bar)

Feral DPS is Okay'ish. not compareable to the high tier tbc raid dps speccs but not bad. Is one of the harder classes to min max damage output due to Energy management. Still would recommend playing it since its a lot of fun. and if u find it too hard to perform with you can always switch boomie

LW isn't great for feral right now - drums have a short cast time with an 8yd range that you can't powershift them and they aren't usable in form. LW has a pair of boots in P2 that are BiS for feral tanks, but they only last that phase. With the recent tinitus changes, its a good argument for ferals to not be a drummer in the group. Once the drums with the ZA patch get released, we can use them in form so could be a drummer then with LW.
