Ok so rogue boomie has potential yes, but it is harder to execute cuz if you fuck up you die. With a healer, if you fuck up you just take longer to win, so to speak, so you have a lot more leeway to make mistakes, games last longer, you get more practice/playtime/chances to win.

I'm a Boomkin and totally new to PvP, playing Arena 2v2s. Aiming for 1400CR for 207 upgraded conquest to fill in the blanks from M+/Normal raid. Sitting at 1100CR just now after a few days.
Sorry for the Noob questions, but I'm not sure what to do once I get my opener off (mostly Convoke or CC). My daft as my question is... what do I do next?
I'm almost always targeted by the opposition melee, so I spend the rest of the Arena CCing or in Bear form surviving. Any time I try to peel and dps, I don't even get 2 wraths off. How am I meant to dps outside of the odd instant casts (sunfire,moonfire or the occasional star fall). The thing is, its left me feeling quite useless for the later half of an Arena match, and I would be really grateful for any advice. Thank you.

The idea of arena is that you want to line up crowd control with burst damage, and then in between you maintain your stuff (dots, etc) and survive, kite around, sit in bear form if you're getting bursted. Then whenever you can secure cross CC (like root + beam on healer, cyclone, etc) and a stun on kill target, you dump your astral power along with your partner's damage. If you can't go out of bear form ever you need a healer/better healer.
You just maintain dots, let Natures Balance and Shooting Stars fill your bar up while you sit bear, or spam wraths ofc to build up and cycle Eclipses if you're not being trained.
Then you burst when you can cross CC

If you're hellbent on playing double dps, you need to be very efficient and tight with your kiting and defensives. Barkskin / renewal / typhoon / FR / darkness, everything good and efficient, don't take unnecessary damage, kite and cycle CC on enemy all the time.

How do you actually get anything else off - if you show your face you will have warrior/monk/everything else in your face the whole time. It's a little frustrating compared to how easy it is to hop on a ret/dh/warrior/unholy and just do uninterrupted damage
