I'm doing the same thing at the moment, trying to get the mog! Am new to feral / druid in general and as far as I can tell so far, you can melt through people in 2v2s once you've got your DoTs up. Incarnation is one hell of a cooldown to press, my muscle memory is getting there now and it's big fun.
I've only got a handful of conq pieces so far so I'm usually a bit behind those I get matched against in terms of HP / stats, but the damage is spicy. Getting the hang of survivability has been a bit of a curve for me but I've also switched my talents around / experimented after watching a few guides, and most recently with some pinned in this chat (have only played a couple of games with them so far but they work really nicely!)
I can't speak for Balance but I know that Feral is fun and I think I've seen more Feral players in arenas than Boomies atm

Ok so right off, you shoulda just gone to boomie form as soon as you got pulled out of stealth, you lost damage on opener cuz you root beamed then went boomie next global.
On the opener your CC is just not tight at all. You want to pay closer attention to that and leave little gaps. If you're gonna root beam off the bat that sounds ok but you have to have follow up until you force meaningful cds. As soon as pala trinkets to save the mage, you can clone the mage at low hp and delay their recovery, hopefully make the pala waste some big spell into cyclone. Like at 0:35 you're not gonna do any damage to that mage anymore. Playing with a DK makes this a bit worse cuz of the triple blind situation but wcyd.

Yes use 4p, you arent just trading 4p for 1k vers, you're trading 4p and 1k of other secondary stats for 1k vers. This is nowhere near a good trade. Vers is your 3rd best healing stat, its high value in PVP comes from the defensive bonus, which should not come into play very often as resto druid, if you're dying you misplayed. Mastery is your #1 healing stat. You can go mastery > vers > haste. If you feel comfortable surviving you can drop some vers for more haste for more aggressive cycloning/stunning.

Druid is blessed that you can run 4p with the most minimal amount of crit, only 220 crit. All 3 other stats are good and valuable. Vers isnt 'shit' I just needed to dampen this idea that vers is the be all end all PVP stat for everybody.

The idea is to have as little as possible since both haste and mastery provide immensely more value. For a generic set I would aim to move down to about 18-20% max. If you have the sparks to craft gear I would just create two sets of jewelry one with versatility and one without, that way you can flex between 8-25% versa depending on if you’re expecting to get hit or not.
My baseline set I think has 11% versa with mark, but I also have the RMP special set that’s 29% and a sporecloak
