Generally speaking people like to complain but blizzard is relatively decent at balancing stuff such that the spec you're playing doesn't matter unless you're doing high end raiding/m+

idk if someone else said it but there's definitely a reality we dont do a HEAP of damage, but also things like snap aoe (e.g. aoe that is done instantly without ramp) take up a lot of a mobs' HP, whereas boomy is way more of a ramp (damage goes up over time once we have dots and multiple starfalls out) spec so it can take a lil while to get the dmg rolling
but as keys go up in difficulty we do 'more' dmg in a sense

Do what works for you, i've had times where I purposely change talents from what is "best" because I found it too hard to micro manage every little thing or there are fights with too much movement etc for it to work. Sometimes taking a 3% dmg gain that is guaranteed is better than a 5% dmg gain if you do x y z properly and if you fuck it up its a 0% dmg gain (plus when you fuck it up you tend to know you fucked it up and it takes a mental tole and you aren't focused)

pressing eclipse and incarn right after would mean you have less eclipse uptime total across those 2 packs

Can try both feral and boomie and see what you like. Ranged dps (boomie) is all about positioning and stuter stepping. Melee is more reactive and real-time instead of planning
