I'm guessing that depending on the amount of Joker slots you have open, it'll create a random Negative Consumable based on the amount of slots (1 is Tarot, 2 is Planet, and 3 is Spectral)?

but i was setting that true, but never false
so each frame it was undebuffing every joker

without having played with it, it looks fine. Unless you get it early it doesn't really do much, you quickly get to a point where the hand you want to level isn't close to the one most played. Getting it early and going pair/high card would be great but maybe not rare-powerful

- Gold stake - golden jokers (we can change name or texture). They can cost x3, or they can cost YOU to sell, or something like this. I also had idea that golden jokers cant be poly, colorblind, etk
- Rental stake, huh. You can have only 1 rental/golden joker. 5/last joker slot must be golden/rental if you wanna use it.

Buying overflow did nothing for me, still 2 booster packs every shop. I also have bunco installed which I know has pretty much the same voucher (+1 pack slot). I havent bought it this game but maybe there could be some interferance so overflow doesnt activate correctly when running both at the same time?

Could a compat be added so the green seal is a different color if Cryptid is installed?
This is mostly because of cards mentioning "green seal" and less that I cant tell the difference between Cryptid's lime green seal and this mod's dark green seal.
I wanna keep that seal on, obviously I can disable the seal and not have that issue but I'd prefer to have it's functionality if possible.

Yeah I know it's lower in total, but the upside of not breaking is pretty huge imo. It can be hard getting glass going unless you're lucky with a joker than generates new copies or duplicates tarots over and over.
like when Im getting my first glass it still often takes quite a while before Ive managed to get copies enough to where I dare to even play them 😅 unless having some great joker for it ofc

This might be totally unrelated and my game stopped working for whatever other reason, but the first blind after buying the cursed purse the game "froze" for me, I could select/deselect cards but play or discard does nothing and same with jokers, can not sell but select and move around. This was after I backed to menu and resumed, first time entering blind no cards were even drawn to hand to begin with.
I just thought maybe there's a tiny chance that entering a blind with stopwatch debuffed by the purse somehow interacted with the game "ticks" or something since it tracks time passed. But moving the purse around after resuming didn't change anything either
On a similar note I noticed a bug with two cursed purses before that's very similar to this
also "frozen" but can back to menu and resume without problem? Could be something with purse specifically then
Purse has, for some reason, been a spaghetti nightmare to code

My theory is that the game is making checks every frame to know which joker is supposed to be debuffed

And feeling forced to min/max everything because it's technically possible to the point where you don't even enjoy it yourself is in a way the fault of the player, not developers or game mechanics.
To me this is kinda similar to the argument (completely unrelated to this specifically or mod discussions in general btw) of people saying it's wrong of the dev not implementing a preview of the exact points before a hand would score.
There's been quite a bit of complaining over that over on the steam forums like "it hurts no one and the dev is wrong for not making it an option, because you CAN calculate everything, so I'm going to and I shouldnt need to do that"

What I'm thinking about is the "gamers can optimize the fun out of anything so they will" which was a big argument for people saying the dev is wrong for not giving the option of score preview and an undo button etc. Which I don't really agree with. Again im not attributing any of that sentiment to your point on the stopwatch, it's just similar to how I feel from the "other perspective" so thats why I thought about it
TBH I don't think timer mechanics fit Balatro that well, in general. One of the major parts of the game is that you can really go at your own pace - unlike other rouge likes, you don't have to worry about dodging bullets or whatever else, and in the case of Balatro, you're allowed to set how fast the game goes in the options menu. So, it's a little bit jarring when you're suddenly met with a timer mechanic - if the timer is detrimental, it causes a panic that shouldn't be in the game since you might end up with a strategy that takes a lot of thinking - and if it's a positive to wait, you end up feeling like you're always playing suboptimally.
Of course, that's just the base game design, modders are always welcome to do whatever (not that you need my permission), but just that timer mechanics inherently feel flawed when added to the game

couldnt agree more, the point of the joker was just me wanting to make a cool animated joker, if youre telling me when you play this game you optimise everything and play absolutely perfect, but you dont find it fun, then maybe dont try and optimise everything as much as you can, no ones forcing you to take the joker and sit there for an hour so you can win a round

I can only speak for myself, but I think I'm a very vanilla balance/mechanic kind of person compared to a lot of people. I disable most vouchers, tarots editions from the few mods I have and avoid most mods because I feel they're too impactful and powerful so I wouldn't find the fun in playing. Believe me im not interested in free wins, cheesy cards/jokers and infinite runs past e20. Seeing the watch for the first time, I thought it was cool as hell and got exited.
I mean if someone wants to cheese their run instead of enjoying it that's their own punishment. I don't play with crazy OP mods and mechanics because I wouldnt enjoy that and I dont sit around waiting for the watch just because its "technically" infinite cuz I wouldnt enjoy that. But it's unique and a super cool mechanic

Any art is better than no art so I would not follow every update for new blank jokers, even with a name on a card we all see and remember cards 95% from the art and not what it's called. So Id say if something takes more time but has bad art, that's better. If it takes even more time but is a well implemented and good looking joker from the start I'd say thats the best. The care and quality of mods is what makes me follow the progress more actively

If it's wonky to implement or if you just wanna keep it strictly as a trigger during scoring and not seals/gold cards I think just having "trigger twice during scoring" would be a direct and clear way for text of the joker. After all held in hand-triggers during scoring and after round are different things so it's cool for a joker to target just that as well instead of the same as pretty much every other retrigger held in hand-jokers which targets both steel during and gold/blue after 👍

Just scored my highest ever by about e60 score out of nowhere from getting around 45k per round in the run 😅 kinda meme but I've never seen a divine spectral before after quite a bit of playing so they have to have a tiny drop rate

When I have Ceres installed it makes it so my jokers dont work anymore. They don't trigger Mult or Chips they just sit there.

That is caused by an incompatibility between ceres (and cryptid) and bunco
Thanks! I was actually able to solve this, I think. Added bunco = (SMODS.Mods['Bunco'] or {}).can_load, at line 84 of main.lua and
change_booster_amount(1)``` to the overflow vouchers in the voucher.lua file
After these changes, they're working
yeah, bunco, cryptid, and ceres all try to do the same basic thing and bunco seemed to win out
