The Steamodded packaged with 0.5.0 seems to make Boredom crash, replacing it with the current alpha fixes the crash

There was already a fix with this in SMODS that was disabled as it resulted in a bug (cards in the pack not being added info the cardarea if you skipped fast enough) and after booster pack changes would turn that bug into a crash.

yeah I made it check for commons, uncommons and rares and debuff anything that isn't one of those so things like that are gonna get caught

i understand why it is that way because exotic/ritualistic/transcendent/etc are above rare
but fusions are generally uncommon-rare strength and not snap-the-game-in-half strength
yeah if you know the internal rarities of those I can push a change now, otherwise I can look for it later

So, whenever I use Hammerspace or draw cards at the start of a blind while us using the CCD deck, my game crashes. Even with only Cryptid and Talisman active, it happens. I'm using the latest version of Steamodded, so that's not it. I feel like either I'm missing something obvious, or it's because I'm on a Mac.
can you remove (Not disable) all your other mods
maybe a lovely patch (which doesn't get disabled) from another mod is interfering
@clear hare If you're working on more mod compat stuff, could you make it so that other mods can have access to get_current_pool "override_equilibrium_effect"? I have a need for it for a niche use.
That should be possible if I write the hook in a lovely patch, correct? (so it applies first)
For context I have a deck/sleeve that only allow for modded cards to appear, but since Cryptid's DoE uses its own pool it ignores the deck effect.
I thought of doing a lovely patch over the function but that might cause issues, so maybe if the override_equilibrium_effect was more easily accessible it could help
Doubt adding "cry_equilibrium = false" to my deck would work either.
How would that work for sleeves over DoE? 🤔
Or like if I use the DoE sleeve on said deck
it would be really scuffed
basically loading any run with your sleeve or deck would add no_doe, and loading any run without either would remove no_doe
you might even be better hooking Game:start_run for that or something
I feel like my issue is too niche for something you'd have to bother with, like why else would you want DoE not to activate in specific cases 🤔
Also if I somehow disable the DoE effect, and play DoE + No vanilla sleeve, it means that modded objects wont appear properly in DoE like they should

basically DoE's pool includes every booster, joker, voucher, or consumable that is "normal" to generate
no_doe is one of the things that tells DoE something is not "normal" to generate

Perhaps unsurprisingly, it's the Deluxe Tarot card mod that's causing the issue.
So in case anyone is having the same issue in the future and is looking with the Discord search function: If you have DX-Tarot installed and use hammerspace with Cryptid or any other effect that puts consumables in your deck, that's what's causing the crash. Even if it's not active.
...Okay, it did work, but now it's crashing again even with just those two mods installed.
Installing a fresh copy of Talisman fixed that for some reason. Not gonna question it.
...And now it breaks no matter what, even if I replace Cryptid, Lovely, Steamodded, and Talisman with completely fresh installs and have nothing else in my mods folder whatsoever.
At this point I think it's just not worth bothering with.
delete talisman and see if the game will work

I did a run without touching any of the Hammerspace effects, and it crashed when I cleared Ante 8 with a completely different error message.
If this is in reply to me, deleting Talisman makes Cryptid not work. Everything else is fine, it's just that Cryptid's content won't load.
Replacing Talisman, Steamodded, and Lovely with fresh installs did fix it though

We all know the Spectral Pack mods are allergic to smodded config
cryptid uses smods config now at least
but I don't even mean using steamodded config
just the folder that it provides
for cartomancer I added vanilla settings support using the same config folder as steamodded
and you can override save_config per mod
I just wish Trance would switch to smodded config (I know it's otherwise a pure lovely mod) so my settings would persist when I wipe and reload my mods folder
so it will always use your save method instead of steamodded

you just want steamodded to have less invasive version
well it also needs the folder for loading the number librarties
so it would handle configs for all purely lovely mods

I'm running into an issue with cryptid where it says I need Talisman=>2.0.0-beta8 but on talismans git repo it says to use the version bundled with cryptids latest release. Just wondering where it is, when I downloaded cryptid from github it didn't have a talisman folder to drag out and use.

The only way to get more is by using the infinite deck
personally I think if glitched values are gonna effect how many cards a consumable acts on to be more than 5, or change the number listed you can take from a booster pack, those should be possible regardless of deck

Nah that's normal. Glitched makes them from 0.1-10x the normal value.

I was playing an Exotic deck with Ace Equilibrium, played a Flush Five (3 of hearts) and i had a Chad.
I would assume its the Chad retriggering Ace Equilibria which caused the game to break?
Oh and i also had Boredom
Yeah i sold Boredom and moved a different card for Chad to copy and it works great

I just had a bug where an empowered tag created a normal spectral pack. I used one of the spectral cards and the game softlocked on the spectral pack screen. The softlock persisted after closing the game and continuing the run
Try using the source code version of Cryptid - it fixes the first issue at least and might fix the other

Is there a way to allocate more shizz to balatro, I have ran league in the background maxed graphics 300+fps while waiting for mt hands to resolve with no issues on league end (the performace hasn't changed when running balatro alone)

the main issue is that balatro has like a 2GB memory limit
the memory limit isn't the issue it's the memory inefficiency of mods
which is ofc a very difficult fix
but yeah we've been over this already nothing's happening anytime soon to make that part any better
