Lot of stuff happened but to put it shortly, the game just reverted back to vanilla
ive reinstalled lovely multiple times and it still says it wont work
The only mod that remained was a modpack manager mod
But that probably doesnt work too well aside from the buttons just being there

Anyone know why when i disable a bunch of jokers on banner mod the default joker card is still in the pool even though it's disabled
if the game tries to generate a joker and the pool comes up empty (e.g. you own and/or have banned all the rare jokers and it tries to generate another rare joker), it always falls back to the default joker, even if it's banned or would be a duplicate
it's the same logic as why the game gives you blank vouchers after you have all of them in a run
the thing is i have about 15 jokers in the pool and i had a shop that had 2 default jokers in it in ante 1
does it being ante 1 have anything to do with it
or could it be another mod interfering
the joker pools are separated by rarity
it's not just one big pool of all the jokers
so even if you have uncommon jokers still available, the game will decide to generate a rare joker and fall back to default joker
i have more than 5 available in each rarity and im still seeing it
in ante 1 when i have no jokers purchased

I’m experiencing the same issue. I added a debug print confirming that my custom jokers are in the pool and that all vanilla jokers are disabled. However, when I enter the shop, the j_joker (default joker) still appears.

you can try bisecting your mods folder to find which mods are causing issues

remove half of the mods at a time and test which half crashes (or redistribute if both work)
Just roughly half and make sure to keep smods
then keep doing the same on the subset that crashes until you have it down to a point where you only have the culprits left
at 128 mods, that's like 7 iterations which is not that bad

So just took a look, there's 100% an issue with the code in it's current state, but when I used the latest release w/ the diamonds and clubs update, it seemed to work perfectly fine.

i'm trying to get balatro mods working on a pc running linux, does anyone know the process for installing mods on an arch based pc?
was just playing balatro using the Balatro Mod Manager, and it detected the game on Discord as "UV Slayer Playground" with some ai-generated lookin' icon. do i need to worry about BMM being compromised, or is this just Discord sucking at game detection?

whatever your Lua needs it to be, but if it exists, Balatro can't find the luasteam dll

You should be able to prepend C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Balatro\?.dll; to LUA_CPATH, or just delete the entry
(deleting entry obviously at risk of breaking your Lua install)

you're probably going to want to restart at least Steam, maybe your whole pc after changing/deleting it

got it handled! Apparently had to delete Pokermon and reinstall.

hi hi, I was playing modded and it crashed, so like any sane person would, I checked the code to try to fix it myself even though I've never modded balatro before.
I've narrowed it down to this
v.level does equal 1
v.level <= 1 crashes with "attempt to compare table with number"
is it having issues comparing the number since it's from a table?
I can send more code / error log if needed. mostly here I wanna check if I'm dumb with something (haven't used lua before (I have coded before))

i updated all my mods in BMM but get an error with love when i try to run it

I have no idea how BMM does it unfortunately, it's too unreliable for me to wanna use it
also is it supposed to quit my game any time i enable or disable a mod
it's supposed to reboot, so it should in theory launch again automatically
but yea it needs to quit and restart to actually apply the new mod list

I have installed a mod that replaces a bunch of the basic textures of jokers, but I don’t like some of them but I want some of them
Is it easier to try a find a way to reuse the textures in a separate mod, or try to remove the ones already existing in the mod
And what would be the best way to do either
depends on how the mod is coded, if it's a malverk mod it should be easy to remove some cards in the code
According to what I see it's not one of those mods that are set to be dependent on Malverk
then you will have to edit the texture to add the old ones or make a malverk mod

They used JokerForge to remake the Spectrals with no downsides. Because of how JokerForge is, for what is needed to be changed, it is significantly bloated - I made them a more streamlined version of the mod from scratch.
...although it wasn't used for stream.

Currently I am trying to change joker images of a mod, what I am trying to do is copy and paste 1 joker onto another, my current issue is do I need to know the exact position of the card on the joker texture and paste it into that exact slot, if so how do I know where exactly the card is on template by pixels if it one big image
have this bug (?) where the game is "drawing" my cards, but im not actually getting the cards, leading to me having "phantom cards" in my hand so i basically only get around 4 hand size, its very very annoying and im not sure what could be causing it TwT

Probably a Pokermon or Multiplayer issue then, if I'm not mistaken this happens when cards are :removed() (as in destroyed) but not removed from the deck.

Well first I had downloaded the main version of cryptid instead of the newest update
my modded game boots up and it was working perfectly for a few hours, but then in the middle of one of my runs i just started getting crashes telling me it was talisman
And thennn the file folders themselves were not 1 layer

yeah its weird because all the other crashes ive ever got are on startup and getting the right combination works fine, but it was just this one run in particular that suddenly started crashing

probably succeeded patches but failed to load as an smods mod
old valk relies on a few patches that expect the base mod to work perfectly fine
tho idk how that would work in latest smods

this is a wormhole bug, i just made this issue for it
it would appear aikoyori's shenanigans doesn't like being run out of a zip folder
that's not hard to fix but for now you could just unzip it instead

Like the error says, it's one of the mods. Try to narrow down which mod is causing the issue by (re)moving the mods one by one

if you do ur sprites in aseprite you can use animation frames and then just export a spritesheet iirc

2: unplugged my controller becuase i run it overclocked, and that might trigger the error?

I've been trying to play vanilla balatro with qol mods but recently I've been randomly crashing. What I've noticed most often is it crashes after discarding. idk if i messed around with the wrong stuff or touched something I wasn't supposed to but it makes it hard to go for late game runs.

Some of the mods now just showed they needed updated and it fixed it!
I was trying to get Wromhole active to try it out, but afterwards, I kept getting this error and can't load the game after I turned off the mods.
I downloaded Talisman and potato utils trying to set up wormhole. After I turned it off, I encountered this error and can't load the game.
What should I do to fix this?

the issue is with your profile, the easiest fix would be to remove the profile
you don't need to load the game entirely
leave the crash screen open and open %appdata%/balatro

there you can delete 1, 2 or 3 depending on the selected profile
though typically for Talisman infecting your save, readding it works
The game is back! I had to delete all the profiles and I am back in the game.

grab the latest log from lovely/log in your mods folder
that often still contains the crash message
i actually got my first crash log just now
i dont know if there is a specific trigger but i've noticed the game crashing like every 5ish minutes, where a majority of the time the game quits out without showing the crash log

you could try replacing saturn with overflow (assuming you have it for the consumable stacking) since saturn is a bit outdated
but idk what would cause this to happen
