these are actually the correct resolutions for doubling the size of a joker, which you would need to do if you want to make a mod that adds whatever youre drawing since the game has 1x resolution and 2x resolution card options

the biggest thing ive learned is to add a lot more detail and shading, like the other person said

flat colors are nice but in balatro jokers that have images/scenes, they often have gradients, texturing, etc!

for the first one you could try adding a bit more shine to the vending machine and shadows to the desk/table

and the second, like the other person said, make the moon more rough in general jsdhsdjh

sometimes its nice to just squiggle dark spots and work from there

first of all, you need to use the balatro colour pallette, as it is more pastel than the colours you're using. I think the best advice is to look at vanilla jokers and see how they do it especially for the space part.
Most balatro jokers with art similar to yours look like a picture taken from real life, so the first joker could be more inspired by real life pictures, hence the need to add more details in the background.
A generally hidden rule is that you never change the placement of the word 'joker' unless the entire card has changed, so the first one would look better with the added joker text, granted you also zoom the art out.

the way i imagine it works is it picks the highest possible hand type on the list, and if that hand type has multiple options for cards to score it picks the higher rank ones like high card does

e.g. if you play a K, a 6, and 3 wilds, it would count as 4 of a kind, and it would score the K but not the 6

BUT it would still trigger joker abilities that target specific ranks regardless of what rank it's mimicking to make the hand type, like wild cards do with suits

I think I'm finally finished with my New Justice Team deck. I can only take credit for pixel manipulation, I didn't create the original pixel characters, they're from Futurama: Worlds of Tomorrow. Maybe I'll get around to designing a joker or two next.

That's the thing is once you're in the department of adding new jokers you get inversions of blackboard that add value to the hearts and diamonds that weren't there previously
