For me, Balatro's core palette is #4f6367 (greyish black), #fd5f55 (red), #009cfd (blue) and #fda200 (yellowish orange). So basically jimbo's colors, you can also add the lighter and darker shades.
there are other recurring colors but it feels much more situational.

There are other loose rules as well. Usually colours are coded to mechanics in some way, green for rerolls or luck, blue for chips, red for mult, gold for money, purple for tarot etc, its not hard and fast but it is there.

Thats why reroll clown is green and fortune teller is purple, it kinda aids the game language and helps tell you a little of what the card relates to at a glance

I guess the other rule is that it has to say joker somewhere on the card
