well realistically i think it's easier to implement scoring cards only but then it'd be nearly impossible to get 21 points that way, especially once you start opting for bonus cards

meanwhile played cards gives you a lot more room to work with

though if it's possible to force the cards played to actually follow blackjack rules and ignore any chip scored and focus on simply the discrete amount of points each card gives-- including the ace's ability to be treated as a 1 or an 11 depending on the scenario, scoring cards might still work

I'm interested in printing several Balatro decks in real life. I have a metalsmith and glassworker hired to make those cards, but I'm having trouble with the physical paper cards. Has anyone made individual image files of each card (and the three enhancers) that are upscaled to 300DPI for printing?

The main point of the card is being a discount Ectoplasm. You need a free joker slot to utilize it, and you also need to think hard to what jokers to combine because they will be inseparable afterwards (which matters a lot for joker ordering decks). also what revenge said about placeholder jokers that takes visuals from the jokers it takes.

I mean I can just re-export everything at 1x, it's not too hard

literally just go to the game assets, import as spritesheet, add a layer for the card back, link the cels of all 52 frames (only for the layers for the card bases, if you do this to the layer w/ the numbers it will break everything), and then export as png (it'll export each frame as an individual PNG)

Update: @icy pond is a beast and will have the files ready for printing in a few days. Then I'll get a sample batch printed and see how they look! Once I confirm the process works, I can share the step-by-step with everyone who wants to make their own. (It's pretty easy, and a deck runs about $14-18 on the site I'm using)

The way the site is set up, you just upload images for the front and back of the cards you want, so you can print anything you want. I'm planing on making separate decks for myself (basic, bonus, +mult, and wild), but you can mix-and-match if you want to make a random deck too!
