Here's an example of how I sometimes use gradients (look at the backgrounds)

I split the texture into 2 parts. In the Banana example that is (1) the true background and (2) all the little shapes.

Then I choose 2 colours, in this case pale yellow and green

Then I do a gradient fill from the bottom up for part 1, and again but top down for part 2

Haven't made any new balatro irl cards since I'm not sure if any jokers will be cut from the game and I don't wanna make any jokers and have them be removed, but at the store today I got this 1/8" masking tape that is perfect for making off white borders on the jokers that have them, so I'm so excited that they'll all have consistently sized borders when I start making them again!

(This was a first attempt, so not perfect but I'll get it figured out by the time I start at it again)
