I think this edition of the demo is easiest, but largely because a good tarot with magic or a good tag with double skips and you're a long way towards a win.
I think the variety of the bosses certainly makes things tougher (not including my autopilot into the mouth etc) but I'm looking forward to getting up a few higher stakes/going to ante 8 to feel like more of my decisions are more critical to finding the win

Variety comes from more than just Jokers and Spectral Cards. Possible alternate intro:
"At its core, Balatro is a game about scoring points by assembling Poker Hands.

the playing cards themselves can be modified to give more points when played
or make certain Poker Hands easier to assemble.

When going over definitions of "face" "even" and "odd," quickly mention some Common Jokers
which care about these things (and by extension why the viewer should care).

A lot of it is just trial and error and figuring out how different jokers work and their synergies. I would say the best route (in my opinion) in this demo is flushes/straights/two pairs. Cause theres a lot of good straight/flush jokers. And spare trousers seems to be really powerful even though im terrible at utilizing it. Also keep an eye out for Xmult jokers, typically youll want them on the far right to multiple all the score you built up with your played hand. Most people have already mentioned this im sure. But its only a matter of time till you start hitting million point hands outa the park

I also use Windows PowerToys’ Always on Top feature so I can play fullscreened with a timer

Because Balatro will usually force Livesplit to appear underneath the Balatro window, but you can override that with this tool

I see this one a lot, and you're right it's not true. Balatro is the first deckbuilder I ever played, and while I was inspired by watching some videos on Luck be a Landlord I actually tried avoiding playing any deckbuilders for most of development
