Any time there is a 'bug' with potential random payouts make sure to test with a large enough sample size. if you tested like 1000 cards with Agate it should go about 250 times per (250 for agate and 250 for blueprint). Even 30 would probably show that it's working as intended.
Sample size of 5 is too small to infer anything because it is reasonable to get a sample distribution of 1/5 in that scenario

If someone came to me like you did, constructively, as a content creator and playtester, I feel it right to at least explain the process rather to ridicule the viewer. Just in Unity. All of the motion is written into the cards scripts as a learning exercise, not using any external packages like dotween.

i realized the relative value thing pretty early but I wouldn't have used that intuition, as I am geometrically impaired

it is interesting that "the two numbers are equal" is better than the same numbers redistributed to be unequal, but I'm going to say that's not the optimal, as chip-based bonuses have higher increases than mult, so if you're ever in an equal-numberish state, you should go for chip stuff (odd todd and ice cream comes to mind)||

A lot of that editing is so that he doesn’t have to waste video time on the tooltips or tutorials, and lets new people jump in to later videos in the series

i'm always surprised when you're surprised, your game is so visually polished and has a complete feel already lol, but it is also great to know that you consider it a base of even more improvement
but yeah, their other series also have that little bit of extra editing help by keeping stuff on screen for longer and zooming in. it would be curious to see if another game embraced that style of "viewer editing" by having hotkeys for people to zoom/keep-tooltip-onscreen and do that while playing, but I don't know of any other game that's done it or if it's a good idea in practice.
another 'hotkey' that would emulate a part of the editing in the video would also be like the "speed up animations even more" key lol

There is absolutely 0 reason to ever pop it in the shop. It's always better to at least see your options in the card opening before doing so

he used a small amount of "card swapping" (only at the very end) to manipulate the shuffler into dealing him the cards he needed when he needed them.
In my previous seeded runs, I had been using completely random trial-and-error to manipulate the shuffler by choosing to play or discard one more or one less card here or there, simply hoping for the best.
Now, in my latest video, I show you how I used this "card swapping" technology to further optimize my 8 Ball seed in a much more intentional manner. For example, I manipulate the shuffler into dealing me all four 7's at the same time on the Ante 1 Boss (which I then turn into 8's right away).
I hope you take away a new tool you can use to optimize your own seeded runs.

it is very fun! currently 2nd place for all skips, our main strat is to start with spectral and investment tag and either go with a five of a kind build, flush house or some other types of builds. theres alot that go into both catgoreys of runs and i suggest you looking into both!

Despite what I said in the video, holding the Priestess didn't actually produce any skips (and therefore didn't cause me to miss any Priestess). It was mostly Hierophant which produced 4 skips and Star which produced 3 skips. I was just holding Priestess until Star came up.
At first I was doing this to try to dig for Hermit, Temperance, or Fool, but once you get to the end of the run, you know they're not going to come up. We DID however get a Devil at the very end for +$3, and whole $1 increase over selling a random Tarot.
An argument could be made that at some point it was worth it to switch Blueprint from 8 Ball to Business Card. But it would have only been worth a few dollars at most.
I did determine that it was better to sell the Business Card and Blueprint at the end rather than keep them around for the last hand.
