Just one more thing on the topic of thunk chat:
Thunk chat was started as an experiment mainly to see if I could recreate the vibes of a pre-launch Balatro. I used to love chatting in here all the time and every time I tried chatting here or in #🕹・game-discussion after launch, it was really hard for me to follow along and people got pretty rowdy very quickly. Honestly that could just be due to the increased number of users here now.

Anyway I made thunk chat in order to keep the vibes in check, but I also hated moderating it. It would have been nice if people wanted to participate in the way I was hoping, but I don't think that's what the users here wanted to do. For the most part they wanted to ask me questions, or meme, or agree with whatever I was saying, or suggest off topic things, or bring up gripes with the game because they saw I was there. Generally there's nothing wrong with those things but if the goal was for that channel to be a place where I could chat and hang out with players like I did pre-launch, then those things really messed up the vibe of that channel.

So I tried to moderate it more heavily than all the other channels to force that vibe and I think it's pretty clear that doesn't work either. It's unfortunate but I don't want to be the hard ass all the time, I don't like wearing that hat. It really bugged me that I felt I either had to 1984 things or just give up and not participate anymore.

Where I'm at now is that hopefully after 1.1 comes out the vibes will shift and I'll be in the normal channels here talking about the game like I used to. It's just been so long since there was any new content in the game so maybe when new content comes out it'll be different

anyway you'll still see me around here, I'm not crashing out, I just think that thunk chat has run it's course and I don't really enjoy policing it
