These answers Chelsea gave during her interview as a guest in Fluff'isle's stream might provide some insight for some of your questions, I went ahead and typed them out to the best of my ability:

Q: Do you have any plans that will come at the end of the year or next year?

A: Oh yeah! I mean our roadmap extends out pretty darn far, right? We've got a lot happening at the end of this year that we are excited about and again will be talking more about that as we go. Right now we really want the focus to stay on Wheatflour Wonderland just because it's this fantastic new character, this beautiful world. We got to design this world in a way we've never gotten to before, because with our early update cadence, we basically had to have some piece completed every 6 weeks. And when we got to step back for Wheatflour Wonderland we were like ''Nope! We're going to spend months developing this world as its own thing, release it when we're more confident in, you know, its quality'' That was a great opportunity for us, and so we definitely want the focus to stay on Wheatflour Wonderland up to its release, but we do have other things planned for the end of the year and of course or longterm roadmap extends through 2026. And then there's fuzzy sketches with stuff we can do after that.

Q: So you're not planning to stop, I guess, you're going forever, right?

A: Not really! If people are playing it, people are loving it, people are being supportive. You know we sold out the merch on Sanrio's website after 24 hours! The caps for your Switch grips were sold out after one day on Sanrio. I think you can still get them at the Sonic site. But as long as people are continuing to play and engage and enjoy, we're going to continue making the game. That's one of the things that, you know, also feeds into the Wheatflour Wonderland hype. Because this as a major DLC is a chance of us to continue to have opportunities to.. not to sound super crass but essentially get paid for the work that we're doing supporting all of the consoles and PC. So depending on how Wheatflour Wonderland does, that will also impact a lot of how we think about what we want to do for the future.

Just chiming in to say the devs previously said they were undecided on if it would be a DLC or not but considering it’s a completely separate island with its own story and lots of content I would not be shocked if it ended up being a DLC. However, I really really hope the announcement with dates coming has that information for us. It would make sense if they are announcing the dates we can expect it that they would also clarify if it is a free content update or paid DLC.

and then you'll get the 3 blossoms and bouquets anyway and nothing will be wasted
