Quests give a couple of gold each. And the maximum limit for a trial character is 1000 g. There should be plenty of quests to reach this limit a couple of times, but not that many ways to spend it on something useful.

Also trash items from BFA and Legion sell for a nice sum, relatively speaking.

In that case spend it just on a riding training (if you don't yet have the maximum level possible for level 20), all bag slots in the bank. Maybe some bags from vendors if you don't have enough skits for you liking (but don't go too overboard, certain bags from AH are much better deal if you are not a trial character). You should save the rest for the stuff you might need in the future, unless you already reached the cap and want to avoid wasting gold rewards.

Trash items are looted from enemies and treasures chest. You can recognize them by them having a grey name and their only purpose is to be sold for gold. @red juniper

and the list goes on

Me being draenei means I get +10 jewelcrafting so I went mining + jewelcrafting

If you want something relatively easy to obtain, then any blue or purple quest reward obtained at level 20 (and no earlier) will do. Similarly, loot from dungeons can fill in the gaps. As for the weapon, the Legion artifact with two relics is likely the best.

The level requirements for quests on the map is level 10 for Tiragarde Sound, 25 for Drustvar, and 35 for Stormsong Valley. If you already did some Tiragarde Sound story, you need to do some side quests firsts until you are level 25. Then you can get back to the map and pick Drustvar. This is a common source of confusion, unfortunately.

Main questline should still be zandalari stuff, Nathanos' war campaign quests do not unlock until level 50

Once you hit 48 though, you can start shadowlands for the better xp and come back and do the level 50 quests
