in classic? easily. in retail? if you're focus and it's not really your first MMO you can hit 60 pretty quickly but there are plenty of other things to do besides level

it can be done but the method varies, likely sub 70 you'll be relying on finding rare items with transmogs that people want AND people buying them. as most of the non current stuff gets their gold rewards decreased to keep people from amassing gold farms from every expansion. which honestly i wouldn't worry about trying to turn WoW into something that pays for itself because you'll have to sink so much time into playing the game that you could easily just get a job and work hourly faster

You can always travel to the racial starting zones (except for worgen and goblins) later on, but you cannot replay Exile's Reach unless you make a new character

You also get most of a full set of gear to start leveling with, as well as a free racial mount at the end of the tour of your capital city

Question, has anyone else lost voice lines from bosses in wow retail? All other sound works fine, my own and other characters /silly etc works - just bosses voice lines are gone. I'm leaning towards it being an addon that has fudged this up in a recent update, but I cant find any documentation on which it might be. It also blocks voice lines from toys like the ethereal transmorpher(?) and krastinovs bag of horrors.

And yes, both the dialogue checkbox and volume slider is checked and maxxed out in settings.

it's a personal thing but generally folk tend to put charges/taunts to one side, finishers to the other side and the main spenders like Revenge/Clap in the middle
middle row often is laid out with defensives to one side then inteerupts to the others

and yeah, both Wowhead and Icy Veins class guides usually carry some info on class specific macros that are handy to use

also for comparison ( low ability count as I rerolled my Warrior after a server change ) this is my Warrior and as you can see same logic to the layout

same idea followed for Prot layout

taunts/throws to left, finishers to right, spenders/generators in middle
2nd : interrupts to left, defensives to right and the 3rd : is utility stuff

it's all personal taste but most folk I know "cluster" stuff so you know where your fingers/mouse needs to go for something and then keep the high usage stuff ( generator abilities in most classes ) in the middle

yeah, they can be helpful for chaining stuff that is off the GCD with things that will trigger it. the other thing they get really useful for for tanks is things like setting up macros for things like intervene so you can set focus on the healer and then instead of having to do piles of clicking/moving just hit the button and it works because you've macroed it to be used on a focus target if there ( also handy on druids for when you want to tank one boss but interrupt another so you can set skull bash up to fire off on the focus and not target )

most of the time it's all about either making something easy to use or cutting out a click or keypress to speed things up

If you want to socialize, RP servers are your best bet as they are the only Community centered Servers remaining

It allows you to boost a character to lvl 60. But, best advice for any new player. Do NOT use the boost. It robs you of the lvling experience, which is invaluable in learning how your Class and Spec plays. Just choose a race and class you think looks cool and play thru Exiles Reach, the games Tutorial starting where you wil learn the basics of the game and your class. Then just keep doing the quests you are given which will end up takin gyou to Kultiras for Alliance or Zandalar for Horde.

Reputation was removed as a prerequisite, and you can even skip the dungeon quest in the recruitment questline by talking to the NPC who gives you the dungeon quest

The allied race guides on wowhead also have a section about unlocking them, and have a link to the BFA attunement tracker tool to help track your progress to unlocking them

Perhaps a bit of a silly question but uh, I fully lvled my alt and went to Oribos to use the Maw portal, but when I got here I was stopped with an option to go with the "Threads of Fate" or the "Replay Storyline" well, I don't really want to go through the storyline of shadowlands again. If I choose threads of fate how do I then gain access to the maw since it says I wont have access to the maw if I choose threads of fate?

Theoretically, you shouldn't have access to Threads of Fate at all anymore.

But anyway, you probably have to get max level and do the campaign to get Maw Access. During Threads of Fate, jumping in only takes you to Torghast.

DR races get you about 2.5k a reset per character if you do all 5 so 5k a week if you do both resets each week so 5k times 20 is 100k a week before anything else

so a month alone you can get 400k pretty easy

you'd likely burn out or get sick of it though

with a list you could build it either to go ABCDE or depending on CDS even use a reset value to go back to the main ability on CD

the main issue any serious player would point out is you end up being reliant on it and losing track of what actually makes good reactions to other plays and also if you don't have any of the things in the cast sequence on the bars otherwise you have less flexibility

I wouldn't really focus on professions as a thing while leveling unless you want to put in the extra work, but think of professions that would be useful for your character. A mage wouldn't benefit from having blacksmithing too much since they make plate armors and weapons for example, and a crafting profession is recommended to have a matching gathering profession so you're not spending gold on crafting supplies

there's a very solid Demo build that drops Nether Portal and takes Hatred, bit less strain on the fingers and also more solid on the sustain since it really ramps both the passive pet damage and also is a bit smoother for matching up GFG/Dogs/Tyrant vs the whole Portal/Tyrant misalignment

side effects are basically it's a bit less bursty and loses Portal, but the DPS is still comparable and actually seems to be a better demo option on some fights as the Tyrant lines up better for phases
