they don't glow unless you have an addon that will highlight it afaik ( I've used ElvUI for that long I have zero idea if stock UI now does that ). they just shift from "greyed out" to "lit" ( "lit = left 3, "greyed out" ( in this case no combo points yet ) = right 3 )

warlock is a solid new player pick thanks to Voidwalker pet, as is Hunter for same reason ( pet to tank for you )

and until you get way deep into the game there are no real "this is slightly better than some other options" differences since it's all stuff like partial percentile increases or in some cases a racial ability that goes nice with a class

DF releases 28th november, you can't use it till then
you also won't get evoker or dracthyr till the prepatch drops on october 25th
also going by past process you will get SL included in base game when DF goes live

if you can wait I'd say get DF and just do 0 to 50 content till then, or if you have disposable then grab SL but it's not got long to go

mine's more "what's best in the way of spectacles?", so ElvUI and a few plugins for it ended up needed as Blizz only lets you adapt the UI so far

lot of the old quest and map stuff is yeeted though along with multiple "bar uitilities" as they just aren't needed

weirdly enough thanks to the streamlining of the class abilities I've managed to flip a lot of "this needs to be on a bar somewhere" to simple LMB/RMB conditional macros

Gumball or Inter can clarify if I've picked it up wrong but until Dragonflight goes live you will be restricted to whatever you have currently ( so level 50 if no shadowlands ) and after Pre-Patch goes live you will get the new basic game features and then if you have pre-ordered DF also Evoker and Dracthyr

@vale hawk / @keen pewter that right or did I get what arrives with Pre-Patch mixed up and everyone will get Drac and Evokers even if not owning DF?

You can search for the name of the questline in your achievements window, if it's associated with one

I believe the wowhead attunement tracker tool can also help with that

if your character is synced by wowhead you can go to the page of any quest and it will tell you if this character has done this quest

yeah, I'm not too up to speed on the Wowhead Sync but BTWQuests is pretty solid for seeing where you are on a questline and also quite good on what you need to start one if it seems it's not showing up @hollow hare

for example a lot of stuff for me was usually wanting either order hall in legion or level 45 to show but that wasn't obvious in some of the wowhead entries. BTW tooltip would usually be sitting there going

45 ( not done ) + quest 1 ( done so greyed out ) + quest 2 ( not done so still showing )

it can take a little while to get used to the way it works, and you will still need to occasionaly track down details on wowhead if the map markers don't trigger, but it's pretty solid for use when stuck

what I really like is the flowchart style questline mapping that allows you to see what you're missing or where you got to and then "oh... so level 45 and finish Voldun to unlock that next one... that's why it's not showing yet"

there is a yak with a transmog guy and a smith, there is a mammoth with a vendor and a smith and then there is the dinosaur with the auctioneer

dinosaur: became unavailable with the end of bfa. it cost a million gold iirc. you could get it via random chance off of the black market auction house but good luck with that. The yak you can buy in pandaria (not too hard to google Pandaria Transmog Yak) and the mammoth can be bought in old dalaran

Just make sure you're tracking Trivial Quests on the minimap. Chromie Time doesn't work at level 50+, since Chromie Time is only for scaling content 10-50 while leveling

Yesterday while I was doing some quests I discorvered a player in the middle of arathi highlands meadows

he was farming a mob and he always instantly killed the entity

and as soon as the mob was killed it got resummoned/respawned and it went on for a while

I tried it too, then I left in a couple mins, and logged out

When I logged in today everything seemed fine

for the first few times it was weird for me that I one tap everything

Legion gets you class mogs, BFA has dinosaurs, Mists is a personal favourite of mine, Warlords is meh but the sidequests make it fast... so everything has advantages

@cloud owl So Stormwind is your factions capital city. i would suggest (once you get there) to set your hearthstone at an inn there to get there easily since most portals are reachable from there and its a good default position.
In Boralus there should be some sort of Portal Room with Portals to Silithus, Stormwind and some other cities iirc. You might have to google to find it (if you havent found it already).

no, the fact they are both on GCD means the lowest is two clicks either via Castsequence 1 then 2 or as Aomchi says doing it as [btn:2] for one and then the other casts on normal click on the icon

the castsequence version would work with keybind, as would also setting something like [mod:alt] so that Keybind would cast one buff then alt+keybind the second

move with :SetPoint("TOP") center topleft etc
just don't do it with no frame under the mouse, or you will bug the ui

pros of Elv anchoring : you can't randomly move stuff by mistake
cons of Elv Anchoring : you can't quickly move stuff without the config menu or /moveui, and due to tainting it won't open in combat which is usually when you want to quickly move stuff

you've probably moved it not realising what it is while setting up to get something else in place then when it's went active it's been in the wrong location

I've had similar when I've copied in the default profile on a new toon then activated something only to realise it was one of the "not using that yet" lements that are all stacked mid screen to get them out the way on the default layout

download the game and start. its free until lv. 20 so play until you reach that. after that you only need to pay the subscription or get gametime to play until lv.50 and then you can buy shadowlands to go to 60 altough shadowlands will soon get included in the base sub so you might wanna wait for that its only about a month away

Hey I'm Hevusrul. I've played the three Warcraft RTS games as early as I could walk and I gave WoW a try just prior to legion release.

After legion ended I made the correct choice to abandon ship to Final Fantasy and Lost Ark, however the class design in FF14 is seriously the most uninteresting I've ever seen in an MMO of all time. The tanks and healers might as well all be the exact same class except they get about 4 abilities difference from each other.

I really miss WoW. I really enjoyed discipline priest healing and being able to focus on damage and healing at the same time while keeping up atonement(?) (Whatever the buff is called)

I miss shadow priest in legion where you would pop void form and it felt like you were playing StarCraft for about a minute.

There were a few other interesting classes like feral druids being able to snapshot damage buffs to enhance their damage over time or the monk tanks with the stagger mechanic.

Ultimately, I'm asking if the game is worth coming back to. I really hope it is, but I want to play it safe and ask the community first. I'm heading off to bed and I'll check back and see what people think in the morning.

I guess as a side question, I am curious to the class design in wrath of the lich king and how similar it was to legion.

coming back to the game is a personal decision, depends what in the game interested you the most

as for the class design only thing I'd say about it is wrath is about having all the tools while legion is about class identity (I mean they literally had class halls, mounts, armors, new talents, etc, however I actually did not play it myself so this is just looking back at it)

Hi — Does anyone here have a backup of an older version of the Battle.net launcher? It can be any version prior to the current one. I need a copy of the "qwindows.dll" file from the /platforms folder. lets me quickly focus on either hostile targets or using the second one party members, then if I'm about to swap off a target but want to keep an eye on it for interrupts the third one lets me hit a key to ficus it and then I can safely tab off to the new target

not as such, more that some help newer players more than others by having a pet that can tank for you and others have nothing but evasion or stun to stop you getting reamed

then as said healing is something you either get or don't, and tanking requires being able to not only handle your own mitigation/healing and control the battle so they're on you and not the healer but also know when to trust the healer to sustain you and when to pop a defensive to soak it on top

apart from something to deal with talent picks if such a thing exists, that's pretty much just changing what you are casting and even then from what I've read so far there's not much gets changed anyway due to some talents being "nothing else gets close" and things being tied into them

you're about ilevel 100 by the time you've done some quests in SL and can be anything from 150 to 200+ by 60 depending on where you're grinding and what part of the quest you're on

either way the early drops from DF will most likely make that irrelevant anyway

its your decision in a way
if you do it in the beginning of a spell cast (which you absolutely know is dangerous, somehow), you are done with it and others won't panic/use their ints as the cast ends - and this is bad (or ofc wait for someone else)
if you wait till its going off, in a way you are stunning the mob and letting party's cds reset
there are add-ons that follow others' interrupts, so you have lower chance to mess e/o

btw, you met a jerk. xd

indeed, plater or other addons will let you colour cast bars so you see whether they can be interrupted ( mines set to yellow - can be "kicked", Red - can't be "kicked", blue - can be kicked but kicks/stuns on CD )

and aye, as Aomichi said you met a jerk. As long as noone died or you wiped due to it no biggy, even in progress raids

jump into the ElvUI discord and ask in the retail support channel, post the full lua error in a codebox ( place 3x ` either side of it ) and then give them time to respond as the support is basically whoever is there plus they are often at work just now

they're quite good and that is something borked in actual ElvUI if it's not just a failed hook that is harmless

if you have it bound to a key with no other conditions like [button:2] inside it should still work on keypress as long as the other conditions are met and since it's D&D iirc that's basically "I have the mouse cursor on the screen" 😂
