You can't change the stats of the resulting item, as they're fixed. The only stuff that gets added and transferred are sockets and minor tertiary stats (Speed, Leech, and so on).

You can't. That's why I'm saying they're fixed. If the resulting item has Crit and Haste, there's nothing you can do to change that, at all.
It doesn't matter what stats the original item had, it's only the ItemLevel that affects the new item (plus sockets and the mentioned minor tertiary stats).

hey, this is a bit of a weird question, but does anyone know the in-game syntax for item ids? like, for putting them into, say, a manual filter on AdiBags.
i'm trying to add a custom section on AdiBags for M+ keystones, but it's refusing to take the item id i found for mythic keystones.

rule of thumb (for me at least) has been to be about 10 ilvl lower than what the content rewards and normal fated drops 278 minimum

its harder, modifiers get applied (called affixes like the fated affix for the raids you want to do) which will cause various effects and higher keys make the dungeon even harder which also rewards even better loot. Start with a +2 or something but whatever dungeon you plan on doing you should read/watch a guide for it since you're completly new to it

However, keep in mind that death knights and demon hunters have their own starting zones that assume you already know how to play and cannot start in the new Exile's Reach starting tutorial zone--so if you're new or inexperienced then they won't be the best option

Most players have all classes leveled to a certain degree, so don't be afraid of trying new stuff. As much as the game is about the "endgame", it's also about having fun 😛

If it's your first time, yes--even if you hit 60 you still need to finish the introductory leveling storyline campaign before you can even join your first covenant. After that you have the covenant campaign, the Chains of Domination campaign in Korthia, and the Secrets of the First Ones campaign in Zereth Mortis.

It seems like a lot, but you have to take into account that it's also counting steps in a quest chain and even "go talk to this guy" quests
It will seem less daunting if you ignore those numbers, delete the guide addon, and just go off of the story chapters as they're listed in the in-game map & quest log

Hello, guys!
I'm a returning player who for now does low-level group content, but still I want to do it properly. The issue is that I prefer to cover with ElvUI as much as possible, which includes player frames. I was using Grid with MadSkillz setup before the break, but... let's just say I want to settle with Elv for now.
My issue is that I just can't understand how to setup buff highlighting with ElvUI Unit Frames so it would be visible enough. I know where to look at - Setting -> Unit Frames -> Colors -> Debuff Highlighting. Then the problem appears - while I'm solo I can't actually test how it will appear. And if I'm finally accepted in a group, it's usually "gogogo" and no one will stand still being debuffed just so I can play with settings.
So, a question for those of you who does use ElvUI unit frames. Which option is the most clear to see?
Also, would be much obliged if anyone would post a screenshot of the menu part that I highlited above, so I can get a grasp on the English titles. My menu is not in English.

it's time to choose a warrior specialization for my character. i'm having trouble deciding between arms warrior and fury warrior. what are the benefits to each?

arms has very good 2 target cleave, uncapped aoe and burst aoe, slower playstyle and can be easier to gear cause it only needs 1 weapon
fury has very consistent aoe also with good burst but for the most part is stuck to only hitting 5 targets, has a much faster playstyle/higher apm but needs 2 weapons so can be annoying to gear

Shadowlands is 51-60, and currently it requies purchasing Shadowlands
Do not purchase Shadowlands unless you really want to try and do the shadowlands content in current state, and be aware that in order to do most of the content it would still take quite some time, on the order of probably 1-3 weeks to get from 50-60, and to get geared and ready to do things
I would strongly recommend against purchasing Shadowlands at the moment and instead just focus on leveling your character, exploring things, and doing whatever catches your eye

Generally recommended to play retail if you're new. Retail has an actual tutorial, an overhauled leveling system, and more quality of life features than Classic. Classic is a recreation of the game as it was back in Ye Olden Tymes so it lacks any modern features, is incredibly grindy, and not a representation of what the rest of the game is like

Each time I crafted a demonsteel bar I was getting 1 lvl for bs so after 55 bars I was on like 60 or something
Then I went and got all the blood of sargeras, used the gear from dungeons to fund the materials to craft more bars and I only ended up getting to 78
So now I just don't know what to do

basically get rank 2 recipes off the demon next to the demon hunter that thought you the demonsteel and then if those also turn green/grey find the rank 3 ones
but tbh if all you want is the mount (and not the ability to make it) buying it off the auction house might be cheaper than leveling blacksmithing if you don't plan on farming all the stuff
you'd have to calculate it.
Each demonsteel thing gives 2 skillpoints at orange though I think so you technically only need to make 11 things

the other ones are easier, like the Jewlcrafting panthers and the engineering ones, but they also have some expensive vendor materials you need to craft them (which might be a problem if you don't have like 20k just sitting around)

In an ideal world, yes, all specs would be within a reasonable range of eachother, but there's a lot of variance
Look at Destro earlier in the cycle of Shadowlands, where it was regularly getting, what, a solid 2.5x the output under ideal circumstances as an equivalent Balance druid?
At the end of the day the important part is doing something you find fun, but game mechanics and the current state of a class just are things that do factually exist, and depending on the state of the game some classes may be far less capable than others at some times or in some circumstances

Look at SV before 9.2--incredibly underrepresented due to the MM meta, but still in high M+ and raid content due to its uncapped AoE and strong setup. At the end of the day if they have to ask what the meta is, then they're not playing the content where the meta matters--and that meta changes from fight to fight, patch to patch, tier to tier. A good player on a bad spec is going to outperform a bad player on a good spec
If you want good, consistent performance you'll do better becoming good at your spec as opposed to flip-flopping to different specs while chasing a meta--a meta that is incredibly circumstantial and where everything is balanced enough to still be viable
They're even stating that they're playing casually. Know the audience for the advice being provided. Any meta is going to be irrelevant and they should play the spec they enjoy most and are better at playing.

I only missed that mount to finish off my achievement...

The mount is very hard to get while levelling especially solo, you can continue to level through the campaign and come back to the area at max level with gear and you should have a much better time

Been a while, you used to be able to make them with rogues (only for yourself anyways though)
Pretty sure they got rid of it though at some point.
MAYBE Assassination Spec still does them but haven't touched that class in ages so not sure.

There is no way to play around with any of the old spells that were either fixed or removed from the game over time though the various patches. But if it’s abilities that were present during Vanilla, Burning Crusade or Wrath. You’d only be able to though playing the Classic version of WoW.

i personally hate all the new animations with warlocks like chaos bolt they are just clumsy, if you use mote of light you become old human form and can use the spells like they were before they changed the animations of them to new one

Animations makes more sense but sadly you cant choose which animations are used. I wish it would be customizable and while they're at it make sheating positions and other stuff customizable too but that would result in too much fun

You can use a leveled character, and it can go by even faster since enemies will be easy to kill

Of course that tier list probably depends on a lot of factors such as the fight, the mechanics, gear, player skill and ability, etc and does not unilaterally mean that Arcane is that much worse but just under performing or under represented for the specific metrics used to create that tier list

The best spec is going to be the one you're better at playing, really. SV was underrepresented and at the bottom of tier lists before 9.2, but were still performing incredibly well

It's not a dungeon, it's a raid. You can queue for individual wings using the raid finder, or Looking For Raid section of the group finder if your item level is high enough. Otherwise you'll have to join a group for normal difficulty or higher

dont have any kids but from what i can tell you wont have more than maybe 2 hours for yourself depending on how your partner handles things. 2 hours is pretty much nothing in terms of wow gametime

the only issue is i dont enjoy many single player games. im a multiplayer kinda person. i know all my other games take 45min / 1hr a game. (league of legends / valorant / sea of thieves / Escape from Tarkov)

Makes it much more valuable and I find myself doing more quality content than quantity of content. You want to get Revered with the Enlightened anyway so that you can get the Unity legendary power to craft on any slot, as opposed to the 265 Unity belt you get from finishing the ZM campaign
