Start with the pins over in #wow-help. After that, I recommend just making a character and playing through the Exile's Reach tutorial zone while paying attention to the quests and reading the tutorials. If you follow the tutorial experience, read everything, and then consult wowhead.com for everything else like class and spec and leveling guides and you'll be raiding in no time. You can also use the in-game Guild & Communities window to search for people to play with!

Just in case anyone's waiting for an email to see if they've been invited, they don't send one. You gotta check the battle.net launcher. Maybe this is common knowledge but I just found out so I thought I'd share. :) I sent some invites to a few peeps here, hope they went through!

Well a select amount of players (not sure how many) got an email that gave them the option of sending five unsubscribed players an invite to come back to the game. The one who sends the invites gets a free faction change (just one) while each player who receives them gets 30 days game time for free.

Really seeming like Blizzard didn't send too many of freebie e-mails out on the heels of 9.2.5 and cross faction grouping. Never got one myself, but I was inactive up until later April. Wondering if that had something to do with it despite the fact that 9.2.5 was well over a month later.
