The problem with "true" RMT is the amount of account phishing that specifically went into the practice. (among other things).

By offering a built in exchange, they also allow more casual players (like me) a means to get items that would be otherwise heinous amounts of time/rng luck.

Games as old as PWI have such exchange systems and the effect it has on illicit RMT shows.

When saving a transmog, I sometimes get the error "One ore more item appearances won't be saved in this outfit because they can't be transmogrified by your character." However, the transmog has already been successfully applied. Anyone know what's up?

it could be one of several reasons

like convenants in shadowlands not being able to be applied unless youre renown level 80 with the convenant of the item you want to use

The item being tied to a specific class as well as armor type, such as a chest piece meant for warlocks or mages

The game not saving the appearance of an item you collected, which could be due to multiple different reasons, including add-on errors

for example, Iron Juggernaut if killed too fast the gate behind it wont get destroyed so you cant get through, sometimes spoils of pandaria randomly kills me and resets instance and I cannot for the life of me recreate it, very inconsistent

Pants being darker gives a nice breakaway between the chest and boots, so it doesnt all blend into one moosh of same same colors

They may require less work and time to create, but they are a representation of someone's character regardless. We've all started with a full or mostly full set tmog and eventually moved to creating more intricate looks with many different pieces. Encourage people enjoying tmog, full set or not, and they might stick around long enough to make something truly unique we can all enjoy

I think it also depends quite a bit on the kind of full set you're using, for example someone with challenge mode who's built around that set with a rare tabard / weapon to make something cool there is definitely something to be said/appreciated for that

I mean, if we're gatekeeping tmog based on how many pieces are not from an existing set... how many pieces are required to be different before something isn't considered a 'full set'? 1? 2? If I otherwise tmog a full set but hide the helm, does that then count? If it doesn't, why? Is it because too many pieces are still the same set? Then what if I hid every slot besides pants, being essentially naked? Is that then a unique and interesting tmog because it by definition includes the least 'full set' pieces possible? If not, then now we've ruled out 'full sets' and the exact opposite of 'full sets'. What if, using the least effort and thought possible, I tmog every slot randomly to have no two items from one set, but they have no color or theme consistency? If that's also overruled, then we've functionally eliminated every possible criteria of what what makes a 'good' tmog besides just saying tmog is something we find interesting and unique.

Tmog is ultimately subjective and trying to say what it can or cannot be is ultimately useless. Tmog is the act of tmogging your gear, that's it. Gatekeeping it to only what a portion of people like is only going to divide the community and ruin the experience for others that enjoy full sets. Besides, is there nothing to be said of how someone's weapon choice works with a full set?

Yeah, that's the hidden ele shaman artifact appearance. If you mog it to both weapons on an enhancement shaman, it might appear in the preview as having the shield but the offhand will definitely be the fist weapon

if you have anima you can buy 226 ilvl items from a vendor in the town in ZM, and if you do the dailies/world quest you can get 239ilvl items

I do mix and match some, but often stick closer to sets cause I'm awful picky about colors and shades. Its hard to match diff pieces in a game with no dye system. (not saying wow should have such, Just that its a lot nicer and easier to make unique looks when I can match them all to a single color palette)

I can make this note tho- most will be in a "legion artifact" mog tab. (Almost all my druid ones are)

On my shaman, the fist weapon hidden appearance shows up under specifically under the fist weapon tab, NOT in the Legion Artifact tab

so if you unlock a hidden look (first off I always have to log out for it to show up) And you dont see it in the legion tab, check the tab for the weapon type too

True. Yeah I noticed that myself. I picked an enchant of the same shade but it's fairly not noticeable. Like I said I have red weps that I use when I run the matching helm. I could try the artifact mace might work or a more generic one.

I decided that I wanted to make a transmog that worked out from the Waist of Time. I couldn’t think of anything better than some unobtainable plate, and the worst combinations from 2 of WoWs worst expansions. Warlords of Draenor, and Shadowlands. I am not sure what the rules are on transmog, but there are no more than any 3 set pieces.

How did I do?

Chest - Heavy Earthforged Breastplate (Unobtainable)

Yeah, I hung out for about 2 hours this morning waiting for the last one to spawn. In that time I saw two of the 3. Some commenters on Wowhead thought that spawns usually happen at the :45-:55 minute mark, but these spawns happened at :20 and :30.
