That's likely a different issue compounded by the current one. Old accounts could be messed up since our authentication stuff has changed over the years. I won't be able to troubleshoot until this other issue is resolved. Send an email to feedback@wowhead.com and include all pertinent information please.

When you are signed in and you click you user name in the upper right hand corner of the screen, --> user page, you do see <Premium User> or in "Premium Settings" do you see Active?

If so, on the latter page, check "Preferences" tab and see if you have opted in to ads on the site. There is a "Display ads" checkbox.

Thanks for the help. The fix ened up being that I had to click Settings > Premium Tab and as soon as I clicked on that it said my Premium Settings have moved. So I had to click on a update button. That fixed it.

@solid pier there's been some interruptions between the site and Premium service as of late, network issues and that sort of thing. It may be necessary to click that 'Update' button on occasion. Sorry about that, we're going to look into modifying how that whole system works in the near future to reduce, if not eliminate, the chances of that happening.

I think pointing them to the correct channel is prudent first, as others have already been doing. Many just join Discord and don't bother reading anything... that behavior should be corrected first or they're going to encounter much less polite servers.

The kanta person above, who left pretty quickly after sending the message, obviously isn't reading too well as it is... since the game makes it pretty clear that you have a starter account and provides several prompts to pay to unlock more content.

That said, I'm going to consider adding a #game-help channel or something. Though even then you're bound to have people using the wrong channel(s).

This has been described as a Discord issue that the Wowhead team has no control over before, however note that news tagged as Blizzard will post to all "categorized" newshooks. (Last example being the "Ashes of Outland" article)

Well - here it goes. The Blue Proto Drake mount is listed on WoW Head as a .89% drop. Yet on the same page it says about 25% of players have reported owning it. Certainly there are alot of variables at play here. But it’s kind of hard to grasp when you see a mount that drops maybe twice or even three times as much but it will be like 5-10% of players report owning it.

So I guess my questions are - is the Blue Proto Drake mount considered an exceptionally rare mount? And, is the drop rate of .89% accurate or is the drop rate higher/lower?

We don't have precise numbers since not everyone uses Wowhead Client. Those who have Profiles on the site are more dedicated players so the percentage is higher.

Does Wowhead have a feature that will tell you what your character’s rarest mount is? Saw it mentioned in ‘17 but when looking on Wowhead I only see it listing all the mounts you have with a couple other stats, nothing related to rarity though.

Is there anywhere on wowhead where one can easily find which work orders are up in BFA and Legion? I hate missing free Expulsom or Blood of Sargeras, but I also hate logging onto all of my alts just to check what profession work orders are up

I just discovered the Wowhead twitch extension (such a cool idea) but it isn't working for me. When I add my character, it doesn't "save" the character. When I view my stream, I only see an error - "Oops! Something went wrong while loading the extension config. (0)"

Is there anything I did wrong or is this broken on wowhead's end? (Following advice from this post, I came here https://www.wowhead.com/news=283434/wowheads-twitch-extension-now-live-talent-and-gear-overlay-for-streamers )

Anyone knows if there is any way to fix the double/triple posting done by the Wowhead Webhook that is added by Jeeves? Lately every news item is doubled, and sometimes it posts up to four of the same news item, latest is the New Troll Character Customization Options in Shadowlands , while Classic Noblegarden Holiday Guide - Hunt Eggs for RP Gear and New Undead Character Customization Options in Shadowlands - Hide Bones were posted trice.

In the webhooks list on our server the only Wowhead webhook is the webhook was added by Jeeves some time ago, so no duplicates there.

In the same channel we have several other webhooks, like for example Icy Veins news, but those are only posted once.

If that is the case then you should only be getting 1 from each news post (assuming you're subbed to 'all news'), however, there has been issues in the past on Discord's end of the pipeline that has resulted in double posts... though I've only encountered 3-4 of a post on rare rare occasions.

Ah I see. Yeah it's just hard to say. There's over 25,000 servers with webhooks, it can be a hiccup on our end that results in extra sends, it could be a hiccup on Discord's end where they pushed that info more than once... it could be improper set up, or unknown variables. It's just hard to track because we don't control the entire pipeline. Frustrating to be sure.

Re: Teddie's issue: we're testing a new channel with a new webhook to see the outcome as compared to the one added by Jeeves. We'll see how it goes.

Edit: issue resolved. If you added the webhook via Jeeves and have this duplicate issue, you may want to remove that webhook on Discord's end for that channel and then just add a new one from your own Wowhead account instead. In this case, that took care of the problem. Thanks!

Hello have started levling my old Druid and i need to learn it all anew so i did check some things and on https://www.wowhead.com/feral-druid-rotation-guide it say "People frequently ask about openers"(just to get you too right area) and further down it tells spells to cast, you can use both Berserk and Tiger's Fury while Prowled then you can do prowl first (after you have Bloodtalons Regrowth yourself if you have that talent) and then cast the two buffs so you get more seconds of the buffs in the combat

Those tabs won't show if you don't have any associated with your account when you upload. There's no data so, you get it. Just keep uploading data as you play and level, as you acquire these things the Looter Addon will know and as long as you're regularly uploading to the site, after you exit the game, those tabs should appear.

Just to be clear, the Wowhead Looter is the in-game addon and the Wowhead Client is the program on your computer that reads that add-on, updates it, and uploads it to the site.

Is this the right channel to ask about the wowhead discord webhook? I'm trying to create a webhook and it says there's already a webhook for the channel I've selected. In my discord server, there are no webhooks listed. How do I find this? Can I delete the existing one so I can create a new one? Or can I find the old one and re-add it?

I'm having an issue with the #sweepstakes channel. I can see it, and go to it fine on my PC, but when accessing Discord on my Android phone, I don't see that channel in the list to the left, and when someone links the hashtag name, like I just did above, if I click on it, it does nothing. Discord told me it's not an issue on their end, and to check with y'all.

@solar fog Discord is wrong... I have the same problem with any channels I've muted on mobile.

After selecting our server, click the three dots on the top next to the server name. Click the 'Notifications' bell. Scroll to the bottom and see if you have #sweepstakes listed in the Overrides. If so, you'll have to click it and 'Unmute' for it to show on mobile. The fact that it doesn't even appear anymore, when muted, is 100% a Discord issue.

Had you accessed them in-game in the past 30 days and had you updated them in the profiler since Dec.? If either isn't true they were required to be removed to comply with Blizzard's data management policies (i.e. GDPR/CCPA). You can bring them back if you've logged in again with them in the past 30 days once Blizzard adds it back to the API. @plucky fractal

There should be a shortcut to hide all nametags automatically.

The screenshot is fine if the purpose is to show the location to drop the banner. If you have flying, it's better to zoom in all the way as to not show your own character and that's generally not preferred.

Without flying, that won't work in this scenario though.

That's a minor thing though, if you already have all the screenshots like this (not including UI) you don't have to redo them just to get rid of your character.

The Client doesn't provide data to the profiler, it's all API. Even if we wanted to support that it'd likely run afoul of Blizzard's data regulation policies.

I'm hoping this is the right place to make a request/suggestion? First off, I love the new feature where the front page can be sorted by expansion. Specifically under the WoD tab, I was hoping it would be possible to add the daily garrison trade post trader? Waiting for Ribchewer to come along so I can dump 10 characters worth of garrison resources into leather is a fairly common aspect of my daily routine and I imagine a lot of players do it for whatever trader/material is best for them profession-wise. Thanks for your time!

@stuck spindle The problem with WoD information (and all TiW information to some extent) is that most of this is obtained by users who visit the actual content, using our Wowhead Looter/Client, and subsequently upload that data to our site. We also have to have enough people do that to ensure the data is valid before it's displayed. With WoD... frankly very little data comes in and adding some things would just compound the issue further... users who may have otherwise gone and looked, but checked Wowhead instead, didn't go look and then info we were previously receiving, we no longer are. Thus a cycle begins with previous expansions that only gets worse as they grow older. ----- The suggestion is very much appreciated and we'll continue to evaluate adding new things, or even bringing back old ones, when the data allows it. Thank you!

I prefer being instanced when I'm posting auctions and doing profession work, etc haha. I appreciate you taking it into consideration.

If you have characters you haven't deleted, but don't want to see all around the site or in the various tools, you can switch them to Hidden as well without deleting. But, if you deleted them in-game you can just delete outright and move on.

I'm not sure if someone has mentioned it before but on classic wowhead it's not clear when certain items are being released. At least for crafted items that require Cenarion Circle reputation. The recipes look to be released the crafted items look to be released in phase 6, while the recipes for said crafted items are released in phase 5. Is it possible to get some clarification on when these items are actually being released? Some examples below:

@nocturne pasture hey, I have fixed these listings, thanks for the report! We manually added all phases items would be launched at and some things might have been wrong. As for clarification for when items are released, most of these are educated guesses based on when the items were originally released in Vanilla WoW, but as Blizzard starts changing their previously announced plans and releasing things outside of the previously announced phases, we might get things wrong sometimes 🙂

Hey all, im sure that this is something that was already brought up (hard to search for it). I would like to ask if it is deemed acceptable to limit "Classic news" to classic news? For example the last article is about Shadowlands, Paladin Covenant changes. Now one article every now and then isnt too bad, but in the past we've been getting spammed with shadowlands or retail news. There can be (there is) a separate feed for these, right?

Especially with the upcoming release of shadowlands I'm afraid that most of the news will be about retail and not classic. Scanning the titles imposes an additional mental overhead to something that should be plain and simple (subscribing to news relevant to a topic).

@tranquil rivet Hey, I can confirm that the Shadowlands post was indeed mistakenly labelled as Blizzard (and thus sent to all webhooks). We quickly saw the error and fixed the category, but the posts are sent to the webhooks as they are first posted on the site. Sometimes that happens, we're human and we get stuff wrong sometimes 😦 sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi, I was trying to think of the best way to contact you all at wowhead about possible suggestion(s) for news items ands I figured this way may be the best, please let me know if there is another way that might be better. Anyways, the reason I am here is because tomorrow is Super Squirt Day (at least everything I have read says so). Rarely is there any sort of announcement and even more so it is in advance of that day, instead usually showing up at some point later on in the afternoon. I thought I may give a reminder here so that if it is something that you deem news worthy (which I feel it is considering the daily quests in Nazjatar used to be) , hopefully someone can make a news post about it to let people know. I now know to look into what dates it is as soon as I see that it is pet week nowadays, but for a long time there I did not so it was great having someone alert me to it. And there are still lots of players that are unaware of Super Squirt Day and it's magical properties that it has on their pets. Those people would probably really be happy if there was even some information to help them out with the ways to go about speed leveling their pets which is rather difficult at first and probably downright not possible without some sort of help or maybe a phd in Quantum Physics. I can't recall there ever being a news post about Super Squirt Day and to that extent one that included information about the addons to use, i.e. rematch and tdpetbattlescript, good places to find the scripts, like Xu-Fu's Pet batttle site (petguide.com), items that help and how to acquire them like the safari hat, and of course the pets that are used to do the powerleveling. Sorry about the long post here, I just kind of started to talk aboiut it and nect thing I knew it was TLDR.

Sadly no, Blizzard reset the completion flag for those quests on a frequent basis, so the API doesn't track it

Wowhead pages will automatically redirect to Wowhead Classic even though the page is not the same at all.

For example the Zul'Gurub heroic dungeon will redirect to the Classic Zul'Gurub Raid even though the information about them is different and not relevant to eachother.
Same goes for literally any Wowhead page that shares a name with a Wowhead Classic page.
This is extremely unhelpful 😦 I want to be able to view them separately without being redirected to Classic all the time.

(Yes I have popups and redirections blocked already, the site does it anyway)

If youre just using Google to get to a page, you can check the URL on it; if its classic.wowhead, then itll be the Classic thing. If its not, then it isnt, haha!
You can also just add 'BFA' to the end of basically every search and have the retail version be the top each time.

If you search for a thing within the Wowhead search bar, then it remembers your preferences from the last thing you searched

@crude gale we had to add the redirect after determining many users weren't aware of different versions of the page and frequently thought our data was inaccurate. Since a super majority of users visiting pages that existed as of Patch 1.13 wanted Classic, and still do, we added the redirect.

Now, we recognize that some users like yourself want to stay on live/bfa data so we added a cookie mechanism to remember your preference: after being redirected and then clicking that BFA toggle again, we'll stop redirecting while that cookie exists.

Sorry for the inconvenience but we had to take action based on the data we have available to us. Thank you for the feedback!

I am writing an addon and I could use a way to get a table with easily accessible information

for example

I am now trying to improve the filter system of the cooking profession

the two drop downs are useless for cooking so I thought I could make one filter recipes based on what the food restores (health, mana, both, neither)

and the other filter based on the bonus provided

so I would need to get a list of all the possible bonuses

and then with that info I'll decide how to group various bonuses

right now the only thing I can do is go to the items database, filter for "crafted by a profession (cooking)" and then look at all the items one by one to see which bonus they provide

I don't know if the database itself is available, but having access to that would definitely help

Strange issue with importing my char into the Dressingroom. I have been to my settings and refreshed the Battle.net chars/account and the char I'm trying to use is several years old and not recently added. I get "We could not load Rexpain on US-Area 52 from Blizzard Battle.net." even though Battle.net is running and the refresh above when swimmingly. Suggestions?

Tried it with a clean (read: no addons installed) browser (Google Chrome), logged in into WoWhead (via Battle.net) and tried with the exact same result. Also tried it with other (old) chars and it simply won't import (same errors as mentioned before).

The character list you see on the Battle.net tab in your settings does not mean it's available in their API. It's a different system. Blizzard includes all the characters of your account there, even deleted ones... it's a full historical record (one in which we can't control or even see).

Back then, Blizzard didn't really hide inactive characters from their API... you could pull them up pretty much indefinitely. That's no longer the case.

30 days of inactivity, roughly, and it's gone.

If you only recently logged into it, and it was previously inactive >30 days, then it may take some time for Blizzard to add it back into the API.

The only other thing I suggest you check is this link: https://account.blizzard.com/privacy#friend-privacy
Check the Game Data and Profile Privacy section to ensure that it shows as Enabled. If it doesn't say enabled then your privacy settings have been set to prevent third party access via APIs to your game data.

You are quite right. That feature was disabled and it wasn't there ~1.5 years ago. Most likely due to GDPR, as you said. It has been enabled now.

Hello there, I wanted to use the Unlock Tracker for the allied races after coming back from a long break of WoW.

However the site gives me this error message when I try to load my character:

We could not load Chryss on EU-Dun Morogh from Blizzard Battle.net.

Blizzard returned this error message: Forbidden

Once you're redirected there should be a dialog that appears on the upper right pointing to BFA asking if you want to go back to it. It only appears after a redirect and once you click back we remember that preference (so long as cookies are retained on your browser):

Each build introduces new data, that data needs to be interpreted, or sometimes data is missing entirely. Each build will bring around fixes and new bugs, and our model viewers will also have changes made to accommodate the new data, or new data types. It's all rather complicated but rest assured the model team is always doing their best to display all they can in the model viewer (but it's based off of alpha data, not a combination of live/alpha, so there are holes). Hope that helps explain it a bit.

as i have wowhead sites open that have a moving weakaura export it stops my youtube or twitch videos/streams every few seconds for a second
don't know if anyone else have this problem too

I have not heard of anyone else having that problem. I tried to replicate it myself just now, watched some Twitch streamer, played a YouTube video, while another tab had the WeakAuras animation happening... no interruptions happened on my end. The WeakAuras animation you see isn't a video or even a gif either, it's just CSS. I have no idea how it could interfere with video playback elsewhere.

it was not another tab i had a second window open on my second screen

as i minimized the wowhead window i got no problem and the weakaura thing stopped running after a few seconds it starts again and the video stocks

#

now that i know how to avoid it its not that big of a deal; but thx for testing it yourself 🙂

hello i found 2 typos on https://classic.wowhead.com/guides/warlock-dps-enchants-classic-wow
first is under "Head & Leg Enchants for Warlocks" part on same site the explanation on Hoodoo Hex is exact same as for the Arcanum of Focus one enchant up 🙂
and second is under "Cloak Enchants for Warlocks"

its because you get your first checkpoint at 7, you can go 18 levels from your starting point, and you get a broker every 3

so this occurs after 2 bosses and 2 brokers

or 1 boss and 1 broker if you start on 7

#

but once you reach 13 you can also start there and start with a torment

the number of stacks is not based on the number of the floor you are on

#

for example, Torment: Mort'regar's Echoes was the one I got

#

on the first floor i had it, it was 1% every 60 seconds

on the next floor, the stacks reset to 0

No, you set it up from our site. It redirects you to the Discord form for you to select the server and channel to attach it to. You start with us, not with Discord.

When trying to update my characters profile on wowhead it continues to say, "character does not exist #104" I've tried reconnecting Bnet, and relogging with now results. Last time it was updated was 22 days ago and nothing has changed.
