One other thing @manic comet is that I noticed that a lot of these Nighthold items are not defaulting to the normal Item Version. bonus id 1807 is just coming up as ??? version.
IE:

but you have to either manually change the "bonus = 0" or change the item Version to Normal to get it to work correctly

need links to better troubleshoot, but a class guide shouldn't have the images change when you view them. the transmog set database should update, based on your settings in the menu on the right-hand side

lol Players with 800 skill can craft and use the Elderhorn Riding Harness mount, which costs 50 Stonehide Leather, 25 Blood of Sargeras, and 10 Elderhorn Riding Harness. you need to make the item itself 10 times to make the item xD

I did add an #transmog though, as it's easiest to keep discussion/sharing separate for that topic. #ptr-or-spoilers will be leaving either on or shortly after the 30th. If #transmog doesn't get used much though I won't hesitate to just delete it.

Thanks for letting me know. No, someone wanted more channels above and considering our emphasis on the site for transmogs I conceeded one additional channel but no where near as many as they originally wanted. I'll see how #transmog does before I consider any additionals.

so i noticed that when you open an Outfit page -> View in 3D -> Open in Dressing Room, it defaults the class to Warrior instead of the Outfit was saved as. So in cases where there are special class-based customizations (e.g. Demon Hunters, Death Knights) it doesn't open with the correct character appearance. Any chance this could be fixed?

that's the best we can get it; showing modelviewer data is a bit of reverse engineering and making one weapon look super awesome with glow effects is a guessing game that breaks other effects. we went through glow effect optmizations a few months ago and this was the best we came up with

This is most plain in the last few paragraphs (where it discusses what to take for non-raid content vs raid content), but even in the beginning it says to work towards juggernaut and then work towards juggernaut, and I can't help but think that they mean something else there some parts of the time.

Profiles aren't updating because the armory isn't updating.

You can link your battle.net account to Wowhead if you want Mikino which will verify your characters if you agree to share character data with us and you won't need to worry about the whole "removing gear & updating" process.

I'm assuming you didn't agree the first time then since your character isn't already verified.

If you're EU adjust link accordingly... once you've done that. Go back into your settings and add the Battle.net account again, this time allowing the sharing of character data.

You then may need to delete the profile on Wowhead and then add it again via the list that shows up under the battle.net tab in your settings. I'm not sure if you'll need to or not though. Also, since Blizzard's Armory isn't really running right now it's possible that could cause problems with this process.

we finished another segment of gametable updates today. I think we're on step 4/4 but the dev the next step is assigned to is fixing some filters first. today's item fix was to get loot appearing on the dungeon/raid pages which is now done

Our site is going to show whatever the Blizzard armory shows, so if something is out of date there then it will likely also be on our site. If at anytime the Blizzard Armory page is more current than ours, and you've tried to 'Refresh' on our profiler, feel free to let us know.

Yea I am having issues with it as well. Part of the fact I was checking was due to HIGH frame rate drops for no apparent reason. And given that Wowhead's mod is eating up 33 megs of memory (all of mine are less than 10 meg) I went to upload what I had to decrease wowhead's fingerprint. Sadly I was getting the same error

This is probably a ridiculous question and I'm doing something obviously wrong, but I can't figure out how to find the hunter pet specialization ability "combat experience" on wowhead. When I try to search for it, it doesn't give search results, just takes me to some follower mission ability with a similar name. And it doesn't appear under under the pet specialization abilities pages (like: https://www.wowhead.com/spells/pet-specialization/ferocity), though it's a passive spell in the in-game spellbooks of each spec.

hey, as an update on item progress: some bonus issues have been resolved, most filters will return good results for an ilvl range (no more 10x of the same item), and source filters for dungeons/raids now work. still chasing down a bug with obliterum ilvls and searching for a particular ilvl (vs a range) being off.

Some ad being shown on Wowhead is making the site very hard to access. It is auto-redirecting to other websites and, in some cases, triggering a download that is presumably malware (a file that has the name "FlashPlayer.dmg" on Mac). I don’t use adblocker software because I want to support the site, but this problem is making it a choice between adblocking and not being able to access the site at all 😦

Oh, and I'm in the latest Firefox, and Flash is not installed on my system.

This is true.. and obviously frustrating and not something we want. However, if you go back (if possible) to the previous page on Wowhead you had loaded you can still click the button and the system will potentially provide ad data about the one that caused the problem in the first place.

That can be hard if the ad is redirecting repeatedly, but usually if you right click the back button you can see a list and move back 5x or 10x, etc.

That's fine and understandable. The tool provides all the data about all the ads you've recently been exposed to. See, doing it this way we get data for 10 ads and can figure out which one is the problem... as opposed to trying to find the problem out of millions of ads from around the world.

Or, it is possible you/we don't catch it in the report, but if several people report the same problem then we can, "triangulate (for lack of a better word)" the culprit.

It would be nice if browsers could implement some sort of "not trusted content" flag on embeded objects like ads. There is the "rel="nofollow"" attribute for links, so it is technically feasible. Items flagged that way could have their javascript constrained/sandboxed to help block things like CSRF, auto-play, redirects, etc.

I suppose the point I'm trying to make is that when an advert is sourced from an ad exchange you typically don't know what will be served and when, as the placement is auctioned off to the highest bidder. I still think ads suck though, but an acceptable ad program really doesn't help anyone as only large sites with big sponsorships can benefit from that

So I was using the random page feature a ton last night to get some drawing prompts...got a lot of duplicates (especially with classes/races...i got human 4 times, dwarf and padaren a couple times, never saw a few of them at all), and got pet abilities but never once a pet. Are there sections the random page feature thing doesn't pull from? Also, is there something I can do to get a random page from a specific section?

@humble delta secondary stats for random bonuses should be fixed now. they needed dynamic scaling applied to them. the person who handled this for WoD is no longer with the site so we're redoing all the processes from scratch and finding steps that aren't documented

The fishing world quests on the Active World Quests: Europe are around a day out currently. On the site now it is indicating 'Into the Whirlpool' as 1 day 12 hours but in-game it is 8 hours. I noticed something similar yesterday also.

Generally these fishing quests are 12 hour duration.

Other world quests usually show a few hours behind the realm times but probably the difference between CEST and UTC but this is around 24 hours out.

I've noticed some feautres of the site that previously (pre-Legion) worked and no longer do. Certain search criteria not returning items they should/showing items that should be filtered, the values in the cost column of search results not matching the cost on item pages, garrison building pages missing information/no longer working, etc. Are you aware of the issues or would you like me to provide more information to help identify them?

The layout of that page (at least for me) is showing a big empty space in the middle of the weapons. It seems like each different weapon type (two hand, one hand, shield) starts a new row so if there is only one or two of that type it leaves blank space. Is that the reason and is it intended?

What you're describing is caused by a bad advertisement. The content team at Wowhead has no control over the ads displayed. No the add doesnt send me to that site. I am simply reading a wowhead page, any page and then at any given moment the whole page is hijacked/replaced by another page, not in a new tab, it completely replaces it in the same tab. It is not because I click on anything it just happens as I read or have tab open in background. In one instance I opened 5 wowhead links about legendary items in a background tab and every page opened not as the link but as the League of Angels crap.

Unfortunately an ad has the capability of redirecting the page you're looking at, even without your interaction, to a page of their choosing. An advertisement behaving in that manner is malicious and not wanted on the site. I just want to make sure you understand that it IS an ad doing it and not something you're doing or that our content team is responsible for. Similar to how spammers come into forums to spread their filth some individuals/companies trick ad agencies into believing they're a legit company following the rules, and as soon as they gain their trust they change their ads to do nefarious things like redirect you to their fear inducing site to phish for personal information. Due to the vast amount of ads out there and the fact that our site services nearly the entire world (requiring a large number of ad networks) it's difficult to track down the specific ad causing the problem.

Our ad team is doing what they can with bad ad reports by users and proactively trying to reduce the occurrances of bad ads on the site by working with our ad brokers and networks to lessen the impact these nefarious entities have on our sites. We apologize to anyone who experiences these ads and appreciate any assistance anyone can provide (via the instructions in the above link) to track them down.

@everyone Looking to get some feedback on these revamped navigation menus. we've noticed people have been clicking a ton on the makeshift announcement, and pretty much ignore the navigation bar. When I load my wowhead client it's giving me an update error. Tried re-installing fresh off the website, still same error. When I click "ok" on the error dialogue it closes the app. Opening it and canceling the update closes the app. So... stuck. Help?

That would require a dev, the content team doesn't have the ability to directly edit those menus. I'll make a ticket for them to look into it on Monday.

they're most similar to monks in that they don't have many old tier sets. but it's much better to use wowhead.com/transmog-sets to have more flexiblity with the 3d modelviewer, suggested transmog pairing sand more

How do I change the ilvl of a relic in the artifact weapon calculator?

right now we are still implementing ilvl support but you can import via 'load character' to get your character's exact ilvl

The Wowhead Client really needs a streamlined interface/massive update. It seems like it's remained the same for ages. I still upload on a regular basis, though.

Hi - Not sure if this has been addressed already... Why does the guide for Hallow's end reference the Wicked Witch's Signet with a mouseover that shows the correct item (and ilvl) but the link doesnt? I know the armoury had an issue recently but since Tuesday they have that fixed.

the reason I am asking is until I can get it replaced it breaks simulations. SIMC as example errors out because it doesnt see the item listed in the wowdb

Just some general feedback; I find the horizontal nav /dropdowns bars a little irritating to use at times.

I kept having problems where I'd mouse over the first list trying to get to the second, and then I had to find a spot to mouse off of it, and ended up closing the whole thing

Issue is mostly because some of those drop downs cover up the entire primary menu

Not to diminish your feedback, I'm not involved with the nav bar really, but I had similar issues until I retrained myself to take my mouse over the catagories first before moving down to select something, really stopped the issue, especially with 'Database'

Any idea why I literally have to sign back into the site (either ZAM or Bnet, happens with both) every 30 minutes even with the Stay Logged In button checked on both sign ins?

Adblock isn't running on the site either. It's getting very frustrating to have to sign back in all the time.

work for me as mouse over for the popup menu but the actual class icon doesnt link to anything if clicked
