Dear Lord of the screen shot, read my concern: The way the macros is written at the online guide is not giving you any buff for Lava lash, regardless if it is retail, Cata, WOTLK, etc... the way I re-wrote it is invoking the imbue of windfury, Lightning shield and then Flametongue, which by the way gives 40% more in Cata and 100% in retail, that's all.

This is specifically the retail macro section. The macro section is only about retail.
And retail doesn't care about the buff order.

It's entirely correct that way for retail.

Pressing that button in retail does exactly what it's supposed to be. Apply flametongue to the offhand and windfiry to the main hand.
It's impossible to apply flametongue to the main hand there.

So your concern just isn't true in retail, for which those macros are written.

I reported this issue to the development team. We are not currently producing DI content but we want the planner to stay up and working as long as we can do so.

Unfortunately, no we do not generally plan to keep updating the DI planner because of other priorities like TWW and VoH.

I have a question guys. Sometimes. Very rarely. When you edit a guide and save it, the edit just doesn't take. It's there in the changelog, but the article is unchanged - the next time you go back to the article it has a warning like, "this article has changed since your last edit" or something to that extent. And it shows the article before you did that last edit.

My question is, when this happens, is there a quick way to recover your edit? I can see the changelog and compare revisions, but I can't easily copy paste the code from my revision - it ends up having a bunch of extra formatting inside of it like [pre][ins] and backslashes before every itemid that I have to go through and tediously remove.

Or should I just be waiting, and the article will actually update it's just being slow? Because sometimes when this happens I realize I need to make another edit real quick, but I can't until I fix the previous edit, as I'll overwrite all of it.

Yes, you have to wait for the site cache to reload. However, you can ask the staff to perform a cache update for the page and provide them with a link.

You can also send me a link, and I'll reset the cache for you.

Hi, bind on equip items on classic wowhead seem to be listed incorrectly as bind on pickup. Browsing items filtered to only BoE (https://www.wowhead.com/classic/items?filter=3;1;0#items), the items are filtered as expected but going onto the item's actual page they are shown as bind on pickup. I know that SoD items are changed quickly with hotfixes and are sometimes displayed wrong but even items that are non-sod are shown as bind on pickup, like the green boots in my images. Using the ingame link and viewing the item's tooltip they are BoE ingame. I've cleared my cache and tried different browsers and the issue persists

Hello! Just found a solution for Guild Bank withdraw bug. I’ve tested a lot of things and the solution is:

Deposit 1 gold
Withdraw 1k (if youre not able, then try 500g)
Deposit 1 gold
Withdraw 2k

You can swap between deposit 1 gold and withdraw the 2x your last withdraw, it worked for me. I took all 2.8 million gold from my guild bank, tested it a lot of times and worked 👍

Hello. Is there any way to get back to the old Wowhead design? I noticed it recently changed.

I feel like the Barbarian General guide and Weapon Expertise guide on wowhead are lacking some important information.. Not sure yet if it's stated elsewhere on wowhead but I think it should, at the very least, be included on the Barbarian guides. Here's what I mean:

General:

• Should have an explanation, maybe even it's own separate guide, about the Berserking mechanic.

Weapon Expertise:

• Needs to be a bit more in-depth. It's missing information about what each weapon type gives as it's "Additional Bonus" when at rank 10.

• Also could include a table/chart showing the bonuses for each weapon type at each rank or just mention that the bonus increases by X amount per rank.

• And what I was looking for specifically:

  1. What does and doesn't give you progress for each weapon type. Do you get progress when a certain weapon type is selected for your Technique? Do you only get progress while having the actual weapon type equipped? Do you get progress while having the weapon type equipped but not actually doing any damage with it and instead using one of your other weapons?
  2. If the "when using two type of weapon" bonus from the One-Handed type of weapon Expertise is active for your selected Technique even when you're using two other weapon types and/or using a two-handed weapon(which, I'm assuming, would technically count as a different weapon type purely because it's two-handed)
  3. Do passive skills that say "Your skills using type of weapon" activate when you aren't using that weapon type but have that weapon type selected as your Technique?
  4. Are there any Weapon Expertise types that are just not worth using or are basically mandatory for most/all builds? Or are they each good depending on the scenario?

Hello. I am currently implementing the tooltip (https://www.wowhead.com/tooltips) script in my website, but I have a few issues with it.

• The first one comes from the fact that my website uses SSR rendering, and the script component is optimized to load only once for the whole SPA. This causes the tooltip to load, but the icons and the link colors require a full refresh of the page to appear. (My guess is that this has to do with the fact that the script uses 'window' hooks that are not available during serverside load)
• If I instead remove the single load optimization from the script and run it on each page load then the colors/icons work fine but the tooltip itself is doubled (Here I assume it's happening because removing and adding the script again doesnt clear the already existing classNames)
• I have some elements that should have the tooltip but shouldn't be links. This is not possible because the tooltip.js specifically rewrites <a> tags, so there is currently no way to achieve what I want
• Not an issue but rather a feature request. It would be really nice to allow the tooltip to be fixed on the link rather than following the mouse, but I dont see a way to do this.

The questions are:

• Is there a plan to release the tooltip as a react component?
• How likely is it that the issues I addressed are going to be fixed?
• Is there a chance to release the tooltip.js as an open source file so I can fix the issues myself?

• we currently have no plans to make the tooltips script available as a react component. maybe we should? we've recently started using react on the site, and haven't had to do anything special regarding tooltips. is there an issue with the tooltips script that you think would be solved by this?
• hopefully the issue responses in the next block below help out
• no plans for an open source tooltips script. while we try to keep the public functions of the script stable, it's fairly common for the internal code to change in ways that are not backward compatible, so any modified and rehosted scripts would break. and modified scripts wouldn't get new features, such as new entity types or entity options.

regarding the issues you've been having with the tooltips script, some of these things are available as options!

• for SPAs or other times when the page changes, you can tell the tooltips script to rescan the links in the page using WH.Tooltips.refreshLinks().
• I'm not sure what you mean by "the tooltip itself is doubled". maybe .refreshLinks() will fix this issue, but if not, I'd need to see an example to help diagnose this.
• as you say, the tooltip script is designed for <a> tags. this is partly intentional so that the site gets "credit" as a link. <area> is also supported, though I'm guessing that won't be particularly useful for your case.
• you can make tooltips attach to the element's corner instead of following the cursor by using someLinkElement.dataset.tooltipMode = 'attach', or if using HTML, data-tooltip-mode="attach" (e.g. <a href="https://www.wowhead.com/item=19019/thunderfury-blessed-blade-of-the-windseeker" data-tooltip-mode="attach">).

the issue is, its related to an add. and knowing what adds you are served is like knowing if you a related to someone named "sara". a highly specific answer depending on location and many other factors. by clicking the report/feedback button on the wowhead page it will rely part of the information that can be provided to the add company to complain heavily.

hm, making the tooltip mode a universal option wouldn't be hard to implement, but i'm hesitant because it makes some sites using our tooltips have less consistent results with regards to tooltip behavior. although data-tooltip-mode can be applied anywhere, the intent is primarily for cases of things like custom approaches to icons where the tooltip script wouldn't already be able to tell that the link should attach to the corner of the element, but normally we're consistent about the tooltip following the cursor when it's a text link. and that's because links can be very long (e.g. thunderfury's full name) and even wrap to the next line, so attaching to a corner of such an element can put the tooltip in a distant and unexpected place.

In the live preview, though, it shows up as (Spell #459988) with no icon, although hovering over it does have the correct spell tooltip and link. It's expected. Once you submit and the page reloads, it'll link properly. The site only checks for markup like that upon initial page load, so it doesn't know what that spell is within the live preview because it only has what was present on the page initially. Hope that makes sense.

General wowhead question!: everytime I load up wowhead on my computer it slows down and then crashes my web browser. no other website does this. any solutions? it takes about 5 minutes of wowhead being up for the browser to slow, then my computer, and then browser crashes. Hi, I posted about this on the wowhead forum 2 days ago (no replies). I wasn’t aware this is the place we are meant to mention this kind of thing. Correct me if I am wrong, but it seems the War-within prepatch class guides were written over keeping the same URLs instead of saving those and creating new ones that include the post patch info?

I found the pre-patch guides really useful for deciding what to spend bronze on for the awakened items. Some of the info really went in depth about which items look good in theory but should be avoided for certain classes and explained why. All this info seems to now have been lost? I saved several guide URLs and now these go to pages which have been overwritten with post patch recommendations. What is more (can I say) wrong, is that some pages if you search via google still have pre-patch in their page title but have clearly had all the items changed out

Are these guides saved anywhere and can you make them available again? I have a load of characters that came out of Remix, I have bronze, I can buy stuff but the guides are gone on what is the best stuff to buy. I’m left searching for bits and pieces of info to work out the best choices when just a few days back it was all set out nicely in one place 😦

Just FYI there is a huge amount of inconsistency on the TWW launch stuff - like - Monk Windwalker specs - the leveling spec in the big "best builds for every spec" is different than the leveling spec in the Monk-specific page for TWW. "Refresh Character List" under Battle.net tab in settings is not refreshing properly for character that was name-changed.
Instead it shows its previous name with a void link.
New character name shows up in all other tracking sites like WarcraftLogs or RaiderIO.
Name change was a few days ago; all other updates to other character profiles work.

How do you properly use the "/way 00.00 00.00" command for TomTom waypoints in a comment? I've found that the whole sentence after the command becomes highlighted and then it gets copied into the command if a user tries to paste it into WoW. Yes, I understand. The list of characters in your Battle.net settings is not related to the list of characters in your Wowhead character list / profiler. We just don't have any control over the data appearing there, it's from Blizzard's APIs. Perhaps their APIs take longer to update. I can't say for certain.

It should be possible to accomplish this within the initial page loading. The resource issue seems to occur over time, but the duration varies. The reason we ask it to be reported through that feedback form is it allows for automatic data retrieval of recently displayed ads which is added to the ticket submitted.

The issue is indeed some advertisement(s). We're not denying that. We've also got numerous people working to troubleshoot and resolve the problem.

by default, it would be everything like all the other defaults are, but for those of us that want to make it more targeted, it'd be nice to actually have that extra control

I have been doing tons and tons of pet battle with Lumberbeard and getting zero credit on WoWhead. My other toon is getting credit by doing nothing while Lumberbeard doing all the work. Hello team,

Joined the discord to say that the wowhead site is locking up all chrome browsers. I believe its due to the ads loading but for the past couple of days after a minute or so of the site being up my chrome starts to lock up on all windows. Ive isolated it down to WoWHead being the issue. This seems to be new. Only workaround right now is to install an ad blocker which is why I believe its due to the requests to the browser via ads.

No hasty conclusions, but at MoP when the Garrosh model was available, I noticed this first. No one believed me that we were going to have the breed models in HD. BFA was the same, the Vulperin animations (laugh, yes etc) also had facial animations
