like - the engine supports massive terrain and environment destruction, large scale entity movement, and rapid weather and environment shifts
its the right kind of engine for godzilla showing up to wreck some shit while you go about doing stuff as a human like in the movies - running from smaller monsters, fighting back where you can, grabbing bits of nuke or weapon codes, finding and exploring prehistoric ruins to help godzilla fight worse monsters, etc
it just seems like such a missed opportunity especially considering no one has made a godzilla game where you are human

my idea is somewhat similar except that the event isnt timed - its player induced in several different ways, doesnt result in your guaranteed death, and could be used to situationally solve puzzles or create or obtain otherwise unobtainable materials and resources
like imagine if the kaiju is far away but has a clear view to your location, then you anger a monster from underground, so the kaiju shoots a laser beam thing at your location - this kills the monster from underground and also leaves behind some of its hide and bones as well as melting some of the rock exposing new materials
but performing this task ofc involves not dying to the monster you aggro'd and also not being melted by the big laser all while keeping the monster in the area you want it to be zapped within - maybe with complex tricks/traps?
