With FF so far I have felt so...great, so natural. Everything of it is pleasing to me, yeah it was rough to adjust from WoW's GCD of 1.5 seconds to FFXIV's 2.5, but then as I advanced and got more, and explore the story of the game and the lore itself, I came to terms that it was a good game.
A decent but cheesy story that kicked you in the feelings at the end, likeable characters, a nice community even if it is a hugfest and doesn't have addons or dps meters.
The armor system for me is still weird
considering it's more put together than WoW
I feel that WoW has more options in mixing armor in this way
And WoW has more mounts that FFXIV but
I like the chocobo system
Then Heavensward kicked in
The music, the lore of the game, the voice actors have changed, it was a more mature story and less cheesy and once more it made me cry, characters that I disliked at first became characters I mourned, friends became enemies and that final trial was just a hit to the feels

And it was when I realized that...it wasn't probably that great, it has a very slow start, a character is just...annoying, forgettable landscapes that are annoyingly bad, their flight orbs was a mess...That until I reached the Eastern part of the game where it picked up

It wasn't that good
I get told that it was a bad expac in terms of story considering the high beacon Heavensward left
but the gameplay was great considering it was the first time they added the class gauges

It's something you should have tried on the time
Then...queue music from shadowbringers
It came Shadowbringeres
For me it has to be one of the best expacs of the games I have ever played
For me it goes along with Legion
The soundtrack is amazing, the class they gave along are great, the combat system at 70 is just complete
The GCD issue is compesated with the amount of OGCDs you can weave

indeed, a rollercoaster of emotions
And with this patch it just told me how great the people of this game where, yes, it has its flaws but heck, it's enjoyable

@spice thistle 1) people were clamoring for classic ever since MoP(and possibly even earlier),so it had nothing to do with BFA being shit,check your facts, 2) the problem with "good" expacs,is that multiple occasions have shown,that if they dont hit the ground running at launch,they will take the entire rest of the expac fixing the systems that were at launch,taking MOST of the resources away from actually fun content, 3) the "announce next expac,then dont fix bfa" is exactly the same as they did with WoD and no one complained, 4) WoD had the same problem as BfA, garrisons were broke at launch(azerite armor for bfa) so they spent the entire expac fixing them instead of making fun content, 5) the reason why i personally(and emu too to an extent as he has said himself), is that the community is wayyy too PC and way too easily offendable,like worse than a hair trigger(and we know that's true), the devs themselves enforce this too, the difficulty is no way up to par with what i'd prefer in an mmo,the content after the story dries up quicker than classic,6) the armor variety(and even the looks themselves for actual armor,not sweaters and t-shirts) is NOWHERE comparable to wow,you could show someone who doesnt play any mmos,10 healer sets,and they'd go "yeah it's the same exact robe with a different texture", wow reuses models,ff14 reuses armor(not in the literal sense)also the think that they make just one set for fending,and then take that same set and dissect it more and more for each armor type until it's just a robe and nothing else. 7) the "we've been without attacks at cap" is because from a BfA interview going over MoP's bloat of abilities,they said "every expac we'd look at what the class was missing and make a new ability for it" and that made every single class super homogenized and felt like shit,which is the SAME THING THE FF14 DEVS DID
8) i'll agree that a nice amount of ShB tracks are good,but while some people may like that 80% of the tracks(outside of collabs like nier) in EVERY expac are remixes of the main song,but i personally dont really like that. 9) WoW copying things from other games is nothing new,even the wow token is ripped 1:1 from guildwars 2, 10) you also cant invite anyone to a party,you cant whisper to people,you cant add people to friendslist,you cant put things on marketboard,and a whole lot of fun other restrictions (as a FF14 trial),that's not just "it" mak,you're basically being forced to play singleplayer unless someone else invites you or you queue for duty finder, @wary gate 11) wow has been conceived as the "life drainer" ever since the vanilla days,there is TENS of articles over the years of "this bad thing happened because they were playing too much wow",and no other mmo has this,wow is kind of the scapegoat at this point, 12) "someone" came to you,it was ME DIO, 13) "combos in an mmo" is a kind of clueless assumption,just because they dont tell you "combos with" doesnt mean there arent combos,a lot of skills in wow are supposed to be pressed in a certain order,some even light up in sequence like dancer,get your facts right part 2. 14) "how great the people of this game were" yeah,right until you say ANYTHING BAD AT ALL about the game or their performance,remember the guy who got actual death threats because he made O N E video,criticising the game(not even that much) ??.
