Compression artifact most likely. If you download the wav and import it into a DAW or video editor, then export it, it will often sound better (and you can clean it up some more using Bandlab or other mastering programs - see #1309224710692929548 message for a better explanqtion)

But the technology itself is pretty amazing because you can control every aspect every voicing every tiny detail of how ig sings and what it sings.

Great for seeding the AI music generator with your own singer and song and melody.

And If I want any other voice I have a couple more plus RVC can really facefully voice cloned thousands of different other voices on top of them

Yeah audio upload does lead to some good things. I threw in some really old low quality string segment I put together in a tracker years ago and prompted for a similar style and it reperformed it using more realistic sounds. That was with cover though. Extend has done some interesting things like play a melody using the samples of a synth that had many overlapping notes so I was impressed it could pick out individual notes and improvise with them.

One of my favourite experiments was to imitate a trumpet/trombone my mouth and have Suno extend it into a jazz piece, eventually morphing my upload into an actual instrument

Exactly but the funny thing is that, what time, when it comes to creativity, the model gets even better here, based on all those additional melodies that people have fed to it here. Once they get the noisy shoe resolved the model should get better at generating and doing stuff the way we want. I'm fairly convinced that many of the issues with mother not following your instructions anymore , or it doing who knows what, it also because of too much noise.

Creating new and better radio models based on what the previous version generated is a valid strategy but it needs careful filtering and cleaning strategies. The audio domain is kind of special in that sense

From the way they introduced it, it sounds like a service catered to the more serious side of things because of the jump in performance from o1 to o1-pro.

But it's sort of ridiculous to have that listed right beside the plus tier, seeing as how pro is essentially geared toward enterprise-level users, but they're hoping that they can entice the average consumer with wanting "The Best", whether or not they'd actually have an envisioned usecase for the state-of-the-art math or coding stuff

I'm considering the userbase on a bell curve -- top of the bell curve is people asking chatgpt for basic shit in their lives, essentially replacing google search and a few odd websites

The low end of the bell curve is people who ask it to do stuff beyond the limitations and give up on it, or fail to really embrace the potential and see it as "a chatbot gimmick"

The mid-to-upper range is people making effective use of custom GPTs, instruction sets, dall-e image editing, etc.

The VERY top, super sparsely populated bleeding edge of the bell curve is where I imagine people will genuinely gain use of the pro model, because that's where stuff like the upcoming fine tuning comes in, so organizations, hospitals, businesses, etc can have specialized models,-- so that extra $180/mo for more reliable output is a big deal (for their specific use cases).

Still think it's a clown show to advertise it beside the consumer tiers, though 😂 Just hide it with the "Teams" stuff

Some of that is just the nature of AI. It doesn't have enough training for certain things so they come out wonky. I remember a year ago trying to get a beach video made and wanting frissbees. The AI generator kept making these jellyfish discs. It didn't get what a frisbee was.

The tape actually looks decent and functions mostly correctly. So that video is actually a bit of a triump as bad as it was.

A large part of making good videos is knowing when to downstep or shift your focus. Because of things like that.

For that one it was a combination of Midjourney to create scenes and character, then PixVerse to create b-roll scenes from the images, and finally Hedra to create a singing avatar using the vocal stem. I then used CapCut to create chromakey and edited it all together in iMovie, syncing the lips and audio to the music before muting the clips so that the audio wass consistent all through out.

Re: SoRA - Yeahhh I think they are gonna change that at some point, it's just far too overpowered even at the high price point. Generations past a certain price point are in "relaxed" slowmode, but honestly I've found them to take mostly the same amount of time as the priority queue, or similar. For HQ video, $200 is not actually that much vs. the amount of silicon resources needed to create the frames/interpret text or image data.

I think for what you get it's an insane deal. At least for right now.

Does anyone else think AI assisted music doesn't get the love it deserves? It's funny where people decide to draw the line on what is valid music. I have been asking people and some say "real musicians play an instrument" by reply was "my music is as good if not better than the guy playing a 5 gallon pail in a subway" - that stuns them. Then I ask "is it that industry musicians are on TV and commercials such?" People will say "yah, thats part of it" - my reply is " then it's marketing that helps choose your music?" They no but then drift off without more detail to as why they feel that way. To me, I cant see the real difference other than live music. I tend to live in rural areas and if I plan on seeing a big industry band, I am going to have to travel a large distance to see them, possibly in another country. Realistically, how many times is a working person going to do that? 99% of the music most people will listen to, they will never hear live. This means the consumer is after the end product, the sausage. You can have a butcher who chops all his meat by hand, grinds herbs and spices in a mortar and pedestal, even marinade the meat in the fridge over night. Those sausages are probably going to be great but they dont always turn out that fantastic. I'm old enough to remember buying cd's for 1 or 2 tracks, lots of bland, quickly packaged lumpy sausages on those disks. Now, we have come up with a great electric grinder that evenly adds spices as needed and the product is as good if not better than the majority of hand made sausages. The customer should care about the process as long as it was clean and sanitary.

If AI assistance is not accepetable then why draw the line there? Lets stop sampling, stop using computers to run your music through, lets drop mixing boards and defiantly Auto-tune! Why not electric keyboards and electric guitars or how about amps? A good musician should be able to project. Everything should be acoustic or A cappella or its not real music. I love how the gatekeepers draw the line right behind them and they are able to convince the public through the mainstream propaganda that the thing that will liberate the masses when it come to art is somehow evil.

Over all, it always points to creating an identity by obtaining a skill. Then having others respect or idolize your skill. Where previous one needed skill to create music, now music can be created without the same skills. It becomes commodified, valueless as art or a skill, but sellable as a tool. Take away the artist and you take away the object which fans could connect to as a group.

We idolize someone who can play leads on a guitar, not a computer generated one.
We now respect someone who's talented in using a DAW to create music.
We envy someone who has the skill to put paint or airbrush to canvas or just a pen doodle to paper.
We even admire the engineering and skill to make a watch from scratch.
We (They) are not that way yet with prompting AI

As a society, everyone wants two things. To belong to something, and to be unique within and among that which we belong. That can be accomplished by being a group of 2 or 2 million. Remove either one and we become deviant, reclusive, solitary. But even in that, we need patterns, repetition, expectations and control, and a form of feeling secure. So some us then stand on the outside as a group and observe, tinker, hack and manipulate our own worlds to feel control. It's still a group we latch onto and a unique ID we try to make for ourselves.

So we have those that identify with the creation of sounds (songs/instrumentals) where we had no and have no skills to create before. Or paintings and art where we have no skill to produce ourselves. We belong to something we can easily grasp and manipulate. Its addictive and comforting. Then we become unique by prompting uniqueness into the outputs. Or diving deeper and learning things of the internal workings of AI that make us feel "indispensable" with knowledge, unique, contributing. Or simply teach and help others to do the same and bond in the process. We have a unique name within the group and we now feel we belong even if its behind an avatar and a playlist.

I see what you are saying, I dont 100% agree and thats not to be confrontational, I just think there are more than 2 types of people out there. I live in a village of 47 people, I know a handful of people and I socialize maybe once a month. I have very few people I consider friends, i hate hearing the phone ring, Im not really on social media. I like being alone. This is where all my creative ideas have been piling up. I even spend 92 consecutive days without any human contact. It was winter and I was recovering from heart surgery so I didn't want to go anywhere so I stocked up on root vegetables and such and didn't leave the house/yard. It didnt phase me, some people are different. I have never liked being in groups and I hate how often I have been thrust into the leadership role. I never looked up to musicians and the most music I listen to growing up was movie soundtracks. I have been watching the Spotify/Distrokid advice on YouTube and all the promotion, marketing and branding yourself, I could not be more of a outsider and not someone that would have ever had a place in the dyeing establishment music industry. I like my life, being a loner gives you so much freedom and I never have to wait for anyone. For me, I love that Suno and AI gives a voice to someone like me. My words may not resonate with many but I am sure I will connect with a few, many more than I would have with the industrial music industry. They say " to travel fast, go alone - to go far, travel together" Life's short, I dont have time to wait to go far so it a bunch of fast short journeys for me 😃
