I really think you are out of credits. Sometimes my Suno shows the wrong amount of credits, when I spam music generations for example. Specially because other accounts can be used normally I dont think there is any error on your end or Suno`s end, other than incorrect credits display.

You can always contact support, but I think they take a long time to reply. Just for the sake of testing, try on your phone too.

I’ve been generating songs using both V3.5 and V4, but most of the results are under 2 minutes — some even as short as 16 seconds.
I’m wondering how to generate longer tracks, ideally around 3 to 4 minutes.
Is there a recommended way to structure the prompt, or are there specific features I need to unlock for longer results?

Do those short songs sound complete? If so, remember that 4 min is the maximum time allowed before the song is terminated.

The goal of Suno is not to make the longest song, it is to make a complete song. In fact, we did have people asking how to make their songs shorter.

What I suspect may be the cause is that you do not have enough lyrics. For example, if the output has a fast tempo, it will go through the given lyrics much faster than those with a slower tempo.

Solutions:

1. Add more lyrics
2. or add in some instrumental sections to add some time.

For example #2.you can do things like:

Have you tried some innocuous phrase like "This is fun. " and run a generation to see if it works?

And song Decription often point to the title. Is the title area left blank for suno to fill in or are you typing something (or pasting) in.

Another test is to "reuse prompts" of someone else's song, do nothing else, and see if it makes outcomes. If still an error, then it may be a local issue of how your app or browser is communicating with Suno.

Please note that Suno, and many other (music) AI services, do not carry over credits unless otherwise specified. The typical reason for this is for resource allocations - do not want people to save up like half a year then clog up the system genning all day, that would be like a small scale DDoS.

What happened is that, after your subscription renewal was up, the credits were refreshed to the maximum daily credit limit for the Free Plan, which is 50 credits. (If you still had an active plan, it would have refreshed to your monthly limit, no carry over*)

If yes, does the clip used belong to you? If it is someone else's and you do not have permission to use it, that is against Suno TOS and most likely copyright infringement (which you can be sued upto $150,000 USD per infringement)

Hmm, how about this: try copying your song link into the browser but replace /song/ to /embed/. Does that show your regen video?

If so, then you can paste the embed link and see if that fixes it (though, IIRC, Discord may still show the old one because of how it tracks the source and filename of the embed).

If that did not work, then try to clear the cache again, but this time using Discord's option:
User setting > Cache Actions (at the bottom) > Clear cache.
Then close the app from the background and reopen it.

And if not done in a week or so, always good to restart the modem/router to help get a clean link for anything done through home cables. Have you uploaded any audio files recently to any other programs or services in the past two days? Eliminate the simple causes when we can.

I recently emailed Suno support and included multiple screenshots of my receipts and transaction history for reference.

I had renewed my subscription using my Cash App card, and although I was charged, no credits were applied when I refreshed the page. I then used my phone (iOS) and scanned the QR code to complete the purchase again, assuming the original payment was still pending and might cancel out. However, both charges were processed successfully. While the second purchase did renew my subscription and provide the credits, I was ultimately charged twice for a single renewal.

I’m kindly asking for guidance on the proper process to request a refund before I resort to disputing the charge through Cash App. It’s my understanding that this may have been caused by a bug, which is why I’m sharing this in the technical discussion category.

Oddly, it's the exact same words, even without the whitespaces.

So the app picked up on the modified lyrics, but it's still dropping "cosmos", "Nebulas", "whispers", etc.

And I can't see any particular pattern in those words that would cause them to be invalid in some way, given that "cosmos" does appear in another line elsewhere in the song, for example.,

(I also notice that the app doesn't display the lyrics to this song at all until I scroll to a different song and then back.)

When you say "video", are you talking about an actual video generated from the music? I haven't done anything like that.

Well... my lyric sync window actually had missing words even though the audio was singing, so i had to type them in. Once typed in, the typed word got automatically highlight as the audio was playing, so thats just nothing I would understand why. I never checked video in the app though. As just a suno user here ljke you just my opinion........The initial process is likely to get it on record to send Billing an email (and cc: you)of the inadvertent extra charge. You might include your above post since it's already a good explanation.

It will be awhile before you get a response beyond the initial auto-response that they've got your email.

It's never, EVER a good idea to re-click a CHARGE if you don't immediately see a response.

First thing is to stop and wait for a receipt. Typically EVERYTHING now has an immediate confirmation , even fast ones that we miss. But no confirmation doesn't mean you DIDNT get charged.

If none, check your bank/credit accounts to see if you have any pending debits.

If none, you may still need to wait after midnight for pending debits to be post off your account, as, you may actually have overdraft the account without knowing.

But never, ever, double-back and click CHARGE over again to "force" a charge through. Bad things often happen.

Please note that is just for Simple Mode. If you do Custom Mode, you have 1250/3000 (v2,v3 / v3.5,v4 respectively) characters for the lyrics, and 200 characters for the style prompts (for genre, mood, instruments, etc.)

No idea what to write for the lyrics? No problem! You can click "Write With Suno" then type in a prompt you want with either the classic (uses ChatGPT) or ReMi (more unhinged) lyric model. It will generate two options for you to select and you can always regen the lyric prompt if you do not like your choices.

I'm trying to understand what the internals are doing.

If I don't use a persona and try to make metal songs like I did in March they all come out with this pop sounding, snapping and clapping, and easy listening beats. Its like the model forgot what metal even is or the keywords around it.

I ran a quick search in here first, and didn't find what I was looking for. Has anyone experienced tempo fluctuations in generated songs? I've rendered about six songs so far, and can't seem to get anything to stay in the same tempo throughout the entire song. When I pull a song or stems into my DAW, I find that it's all over the place.

Hello everyone, I've spent awhile generating some songs I need but now I'm having trouble extending them. Most of them are 1-4 minutes long using version 3.5, but everytime I try to extend from a point thats not the very end of the song, my extensions are the same length as the original part, so I can't increase their overall length.

Ive tried researching it but can't find an answer. Is there some technique or trick to make extensions at least 1.5-2 minutes long, or is it just luck?

Extending songs is a slot machine, you never know what you will get, all I have ever been able to do is retry until I get what I need. One thing I have found that if I add more tags in the lyrics for the extension, it generally makes longer extensions.

Im not looking at your lyric page to know how much tags youve included....
But....Well, as for referencing blank lyrics pages and going for only an instrumental.... you could nudge Suno by adding line spaces, putting in a meta tag, a few more line spaces, another metatag.

....and continue with random symbols occassionally to keep its attention that you don't wish it to end soon.

If you're not averse to a vocal now and then, you can add an "ahh" or any short interjection. Or use tags that are musical interjections such as [trill] or [vibrato] or [glissando] or [stacatto]

All just suggestions to keep suno busy.

It does know the word [repeat] so that might nudge it to run through some repeating phrases.

I regularly get 4 min tracks that need extending to fit the whole song, have never got one cut at 2 minutes. If you somehow have V3 selected, they will be limited to 2 minutes, but V3.5 and V4 are 4 minutes.

If you are cropping a very long song, it might be just taking too long, and if you check your library a few minutes later the Crop shows up.

Extension Tracks are limited to 2:00. Using V4 with Persona/Cover can be limited to less than 4:00, closer to 3:00. If every single new track you generate is always less than 2:00, that might be an account problem.

If you upload audio, then you Extend the audio, it is normal for that to be limited to only 2:00. Instead of Upload if you create whole new song (not using your upload audio) you should be able to get to 4:00.

Yeah it's possible to finagle some extra silence but it would be super easy to just code a button that uses ffmpeg to add 1 second of silence to the start or end, and then use whatever magic they use to smooth Replace Section edits, to blend the silence into the existing audio (as a fade out, for example).

I found out, that Suno delivers the correct modified video.
But Discord has permanent proxy_urls in their embeds where they cache the old video. It starts with https://images-ext-1.discordapp.net/external/ followed by some cryptic stuff and then the url of the suno video.
There is a developer page for the discord embeds: https://discord.com/developers/embeds
It would help if suno allows a numeric variable after the song url that causes even a new url with that appended "version" in the embedded discord proxy_url. Then it would work with discord.

Or even better would be that discord just allow to renew their proxy stuff somehow.
I haven't found anything to do this. Or even a rule, that they "forget" their proxy stuff after some days or so.

In most cases I would be able to generate a new URL for the song when it contains several parts with Get Whole Song. Of course with some negative side effects.
In my case this is not possible, because it was the free V4 song that was just a one-try-song.

I’ve been testing the AI’s ability to generate highly specific music genres, especially Tsapiky from southern Madagascar. After multiple attempts, I managed to create a Tsapiky-style track—but only by going through a series of successive covers. By the end, the track no longer resembled the original, except for the distinct Tsapiky rhythm.

The problem
I can't publish it on Suno because it’s still considered a derivative of the original, even though everything else has changed.

Why is this an issue?
Tsapiky is defined by its rhythm, not a fixed melody. It evolves through interpretation and improvisation.

Suno’s cover restrictions are too rigid, preventing the release of tracks that have been completely transformed.

Some musical styles can’t be directly generated and need a step-by-step approach to be authentically recreated.

Suggestions to improve Suno
Adjust cover rules to allow tracks that have been sufficiently modified to be published.

Train the AI on a more diverse dataset, including authentic Tsapiky recordings, so it can generate them without needing covers.

Enhance prompt understanding so the AI can better capture hyper-local genres and generate them without direct references.

These improvements would make Suno even more powerful by allowing the creation of rare and authentic musical styles without frustrating limitations.

My normal process is I write my lyrics, record a melody with my acoustic, then upload my melody enter my lyrics then generate a track. If I like what it did but not the vocalist I take it out of Suno and into ACE to add consistent vocals.. SUNO has had a bad habit of changing peoples vocals they upload. In theory if you use your own vocals and generate an entire track you can use that whole track as a persona.

I have not. The thing with ACE is it isnt free, at all, YOu need to sub or buy it outright before you can even try it. They do have a refund policy as a virtual trial, but you still need to pay up front for it.

I mean who knows what would need to be done.

You didn't lose your license — if you created those songs while you had an active Pro subscription, you still own the rights to them.

What you're seeing is just the default message shown to free users when they try to download. It doesn’t mean your license is revoked — just that the system sees you as "free" now, and all other new songs in free mode don't have the same rights.

Best to consider bracketed prompt instruction as an actively growing wip! Though there are lots of instance where you see the influence take hold, it's definitely not surefire. You must remember that Suno was made to make a variety of music genres, not so much for sound effects. While there are a few sound effect tags that works, like [laughter] and [beep], many do not.

This is why Suno said the [effect] out loud. If it does not understand the command, it will either speak it out or play a piano

The best way to get what you want is to use a DAW (e.g. FL Studio) and generate a church bell sound via synthesizer to how you want it.

(I did get a church bell once but it was without prompting for it. It appeared in a Christmas Carol song)

Thankfully for you, this does not happen. If your lyric does get moderated, you do NOT lose any credits as the tracks was not generated.
Though it may appear like it, if you refresh the page, you will see you still have the correct amount. (The counter was subtracted when submitted but there was no async to update it if it failed)

I suspect that the reason may be because the video generation has changed. Free plan members no longer have the ability to generate it while subscribers needs to click Generate option.

Or the embedding is broken again. Replacing /song/ with /embed/ might fix the issue but, if it does not, just upload your music to YouTube and share that link instead if you want people to listen while in Discord.

I will say that your style prompts are very...diverse. I would not be surprised if the tropical house keyword caused it to be more melodious.

My advise: reduce the style prompts to a max of 3 (sub)genres since the rule of three works really well with the AI. (E.g. max of 3 moods, instrumentals [which includes vocals as it is considered an instrument by the AI], etc.)

In addition, for your exclude style, avoid adding 'voice' or 'vocals'. Just having it exclude any choice of male/man/men/boy should be sufficient (if not, add three, like: male,male,male or male,men,boy, etc.)

You can ask GPT itself what is offensive in the lyrics/style and it should help narrow it down. Sometimes, some items you didn't expect can cause it.

E.g. having an artist/group name in the style prompt. Someone once kept getting censored because they had bones & ribcage in their DnD campaign song (likely triggering chatGPT harmful/violent detection training).

Simple find and remove or substitute the censored word(s) or phrases with its homonym

Anybody run into an issue with replacing sections in songs? I hit generate replacement and nothing happens? or sometimes it looks like it is generating and then seems to just stop and undo itself... you can see the two versions generating and then they just disappear. And use the styles box

Try to start with the last occurrence of the word and work backwards, it seems to weigh stuff afterwards higher than what is before, which means it likely tries to match phonetically what's later in the song, giving you the same line over and over

Best thing is once Suno give you a duet as you want it (with male and female alternance), save it as a persona, like the song, and use it again. THe next tries was 95% duets instead of randomly be solo male or female

But with crop, extensions, and personas with no worries for how many attempts it take, you can get just about anything going in that direction.

Heres a sample done in the past 10 minutes, just to get a spoken sentence up front without any music. So this is possible, but then you have the rest to work on as well. It's more about changing any one of the five or six main variables, over and over again, to find a result that works.

Note that shimmer is a rather specific sounding degradation, sounds similar to a reverbing/wavy cymbal.

One thing that I found that helped reduce degradation is specifying a subgenre rather than using a broad genre. I suspect that this may be due to the reduced pool size and increased similarity which gives more clearer patterns that the AI learned.

For a list of subgenres, there are several sites out there. I personally like using https://rateyourmusic.com for their hierarchy.

The connection must be stuck between you and Suno. Did you try clearing the browser cache? You can retry that and see if that does anything.

Those options <By Line> and <Full Song> are ONLY for when you want AI writing the lyric for you....
If you have your own lyric, just write them in the lyric box or paste it there... no need to worry about those options.

Sounds like to me that you had failed a captcha at one point which had flagged your account (or the most likely cause at any rate).

Please DM @steady kelp (the community manager) with:

1. the issue you encountered
2. what I mentioned
3. the email address from where you sent the message to support
4. your account handle
5. and the song in question with that issue (just one link please)

This is so he can do a quick investigation into your account (e.g. ensuring no API use or other TOS violations occurred) and remove the failed captcha flag if that is indeed the case

I am considering cancelling my subscription. There is no preview function to check the song before generation. You end up trashing songs generated because the AI interpreted things wrongly and the song is crap. There should be test environment so you are not wasting credits. The support is not great (Discord isn't a substitute) the AI Isn't intuitive to detect other English accents i.e Australian even if you tell it.

It can't detect an instruction to play a fiddle solo either

Since Music AIs take a lot more resources than Image AIs, a preview system is very unlikely

Sometimes, repeating the instrument can appear due to the higher weight (e.g. "Fiddle, Fiddle, Fiddle")
