It works in edit mode, I'm not sure if it requires the tag in the lyrics box or if the styles are enough yet but it cleaned up v3.5 quite well, almost too good since i have a distortion effect on the voice and it snatched that

for some reason this makes me think of minecraft back when some seeds would cause repeting chunks due to some recursive error. the sound sounds like its getting repeated thern stacked on the next second and then repeted again creating a feedback effect

personaly I think it comes down to how the modle is procdurally generating the sound. some how freqquencys are being stacked one upon the other in a loop getting louder as the song progresses. with 3.5 the song sounds muddy like a recording done at a very low sample rate. what ever was done to fix that in v4 seems to have gone too far or has a recursive error that compounds the frequencys over and over as the song is built

I will agree with you 100% that there is room for improvement, and as the model is further developed and we continue to test and figure things out it will become more refined. Not batting for perfect, simply for improvement. For me, experimenting is one third of the joy of all this, matched with creating and audiencing what other make. That being said, really digging the lyrics for this btw! Sweet track!

Oh and headphones, ATH-M50x to be specific. Pretty cheapo studio standard for balanced sound

Do think there is even more room to figure this out and as you mentioned, with model improvements it will get even better 🙂

ya no sorry man I still hear a lot of shimmer in that, enough that I would reject it. its only less because the guitar riffs are more toned down and simple. few high frequencys to get messed up. no offence but no amount of prompts are gona fix this. this is straight up a model quality problem. one that Im afraid might not be fixable

I'd use a persona for that or write lyrics that clearly promote female vocals, or invent a female name, on my last duet i just called one vocal a siren and the other was odysseus so I got a duet, it responds to such biases quite well

i like 3.5 a lot more for metal (and everything else but that's beside the point), it has a warmer core sound and that fancy tag of Alan even managed to clean my messy persona up maybe you can bend that one easier to your liking, i like its metal but i only did goregrind, prngrind, slam and black metal so far and no hair metal

maybe if you get one output you like and store it as persona you can treat it like an album and generate more songs from that, i find that 3.5 works very well with persona, v4 struggles a bit with getting the same sound again

"good" is mainly a very subjective impression, i create music which doesn't profit from an artificially sharp sound like electronic stuff or pop but am more in country or extreme metal directions or ritual chants, but apart from that I think the quality is quite good, maybe my ears are destroyed from too many metal festivals but to me it doesn't sound muffled; the main music i make for myself is something like dark country/bluegrass and if that sounds too sharp it loses its 'intimacy', i think it sounds quite balanced, and with the tag of Alan i can even clean up parts that might have become messy but that's never been a problem with the edit either

i think a good persona helps a lot as well, it responds extremely well to persona

You should be able to use it if the plan still active. Has it expired? Once it's expired, you'd lose those credits... Plan credits don't carry over.

If you only "cancel" the subscription at least a week before it's renewal [not delete the account, of course], then you should have access to your credits until renewal, then to have any credit balance forfeited and you go to Basic level.

@pliant locust , it appears you said you had not paid, yet.... has the renewal period past as yet, as well? That will lock your account in limbo but continue the process of giving you 2500 at renewal date. Only no function will work (cant use any credits) until the account is paid current... or... check for other options with a mod or support.

As VRKing mentioned, credits reset at renewal.... they are not accumulative, else this would create a loophole amd problems. Credits are just like you're buying time to have fun, and the clock resets each month.

Now the issue is that I had to add something in the lyrics but when I edit it doesn't magically change the song just what it's written.

Anyway I love the way this other (missing) version sounds so I'm wondering is there a way to get that same sound after I found it and just add those missing lyrics? I tried using the same genre but it seems to really vary quite a bit!

Yes, updating the written lyric wouldn't change the singing.
You'd have to use the Edit tool for that to change parts in the song.
Look for Edit > Replace Section on the 3 dots menu on the song.

You can try to crop your persona and set a cropped version as persona, maybe that helps

Hi. I've run into a bit of a problem, and wondered if anyone has any advice or suggestions? I have a finished track which I'm very happy with, except that the final minute or so of it is plagued with distortion, sounds a bit like speakers blowing when the volume is too high etc. I've remastered several times, but the issue always reoccurs again. I don't really want to 'cover' the track, as it'll move away from the original too much. One friend has advised me many times to take all my tracks, and export them into a programme called Udio? He says that the sound improvement capabilities of Udio are superior to Suno? I'm loathe to do this, as I enjoy using Suno, and don't really want yet another learning curve. Is there another way around this or, if not, has anyone got any first hand experience of composing on Suno and then sharpening the sound on another programme? Thanks.

One option is to extend from a point where it starts distorting. Extends should pick up the vibe and style of the song. Check for distortions.

Tip: you might Cover once first before extending, to see if either covers "distortion" area sounds better. Pick that one to edit an extend in at the distortion beginning point.

It's good for the algorhythms. If EVERYONE reported thumbdown on every songs they didn't like, even if they just didn't like the song in general, they algorhythm would start to see patterns of relatable issues. And a resolve can be focused immediately. ["Collective filtering"]

This is much faster than the old school way of sending an email , support making a list and dealing with each individuals issue. That's the frustrating bit. Trying to get everyone to just click one button. Lol.

When logging in, Suno offered me to rename Display Name and Handle, I did this, after that Suno created a new account for me on which my subscription is not displayed. The question is, is there any way to fix this? I would like to have the same account on the computer and in the phone application. Thanks in advance for your help)

Suno outputs the frequencies , I'm sure, to a reasonable compressed, so to speak, "loudness " level, but at times an output does sound a bit softer or more quiet than most. Sometimes, clicking Remaster [if you're a paid] account, can help normalize the whole piece into a perceptively "louder" sound, good enough for downloading and listening on most devices.

Again, we're relating music and production terms to a digital generative output, but it's mostly similar.

I was actually able to get the instructions working again. It was indeed the complexity of the instruction. Apparently when you introduce proper grammar into an instruction set it goes haywire.

On top of that, Personas are broken as a joke. I literally reused a persona and song ended up having the weak sauce echo "LOSS NIN PARODY" whispered in the intro of the song. When it wasn't even the same song 🤦

So it was definetly some sort of error on Suno's side because yesterday was my renewal day I didn't get my credits it showed me 50 credits when it came time for renewal but then today I woke up and I haven't done any song gen yet and instead of 2500 credits I have 2470 so it actually did go through yesterday the site just didn't show my credits and didn't let me use past 50. But I have all my credits today and the one bad set of songs that malfunctioned even refunded me the credits. So that was some sort of weird technical glitch haha.

I tried remastering multiple times. It makes cosmetic changes to the melody part. The core melody remains same but instruments etc change a bit. Lyrics it continues to mispronounce. I have seen it does get the pronounciation right with the same lyrics when you replace section, but there it sometimes is unable to fit complete lyrics and more problematically it ruins the melody.

I usually find the cause of that being an improper song structure.
I forget what it was but it was something like 4 or 8 syllables per line and 4 or 8 lines per verse for optimal output?

If so, I had more success with replacing one mis pronounced word by turning off the Manual Lyric Replacement, and select just that line (or whatever minimum required) then hit Replace... let Suno re-sing that line, more often that not, it'd sing correctly again..

If you select a part 2 clip, on the side bar, it should show you which clip it was extended from. So when you did Get Whole Song from that part 2, it should know which clip to merge to.

Try remaster on it, if you wish. Not sure it will take any of the noise on that last chord of the song. From 1:15 on, it just has a degrading on each of the sounds, especially if it punches, I don't hear a shimmer throughout that section (a droning tinny hiss or flutter), but just a more tinny distortion on the audible part, vocal notes, drum beats, etc. Not so much audible on a phone speaker, but could hear with earbuds.

Like everything else, it will not be guaranteed every time, but you can try put in the Style the key, like Key: A, or "in A major"...
That would help influence the AI but you'd probably end up with F or B major or some random key ...then eventually you'd get A ..it's always going to be like rolling the dice.
Better way would be using upload feature, uploading a short clip of audio in the key you like and work from that.

Be sure to use the full range of Suno tools, not just text prompts. Exclude styles, Upload, Replace, and especially Cover and Persona.

You can fight the Suno-tuning with text prompts alone, but that's doing it the hard way, like we used to do in Suno before we had all these new tools. (You do still need to text prompt against it on Extensions and replaces, of course.)

Why is "replace section" so terrible? In the editor I hear the new version and pick the one I like and it sounds PERFECT. I click "apply" and then the new song it spits out ruins/jumps/cuts after the replaced section leaving me extremely frustrated. I have a subscription and a problem. When I upload a .mp3 file, it appears mandatory to cut it. The window is fixed on a portion of the song. It is only possible to reduce it. It is not possible to enlarge it. It can be moved left and right but its size does not include the entire song. In this way I cannot do anything because it forces me to cut the song. I tried to upload mp3 files with different qualities 48,000, 44100 etc. and other ways but nothing.
I need an urgent answer, thanks.

It may help to know it will only segment out 120 seconds. We can only upload 2 minutes worth. So you only see the 120 seconds you pick within the trimmed segment.

That would be unusual. As you see, it notes "Trim up to 120 second of audio" so according to the present settings, paid subscriptions should be limited to only 120 seconds. Anything beyond that is a bug 🐛 and occassional good fortune for you.

Indeed. It was 60 seconds for a long time, even during testing, and upped to 120 seconds for subscribers a few months later. The only recent change is that you used to have to pre-trim uploads whereas now you can trim them after uploading (as in the above screenshot.)

Thanks for reaching out! Short answer, you can. With the. Personas function you can select a previously generated voice and carry it over to future generations.

As for selecting a male/female voice, include descriptors such as male vocals or female vocals in the style of music section. Feel free to experiment though with additional vocal descriptors as well. Lots of room for exploring.

Sometimes Cover can help but it’s unique to each case. Worse case scenario, put a pin in it, maybe a dedicated workspace of collected “come back tos” that you can touch up when a more suitable option that fits your needs becomes available.

Yeah that's what I'm hoping. I have so many awesome songs that just have atrocious mastering. That high frequency issue is the big issue. It's okay to have crappy remastering in the songwriting model, but in the remastering model, that needs to give that studio production quality.

Yeah I tried splitting it into 3-4 cropped versions, and then wasting about 500 credits on remastering all of those untill I got 3-4 versions that were actually useable, and then stitching them together in Audacity. But then I can't share them on Suno as a full song. And we shouldn't have to spend hundreds of credits to try and fix the audio quality. I can be okay with using credits to remaster a song. So split the songwriting from the remastering, and do a heap of generations until I get one I can work with, and then spend more credits to up the remastering quality. That's fine by me.

Yeah I hope that we also get the ability to splice together any clip we want since sometimes I extend and get 2 parts that I want to use in the one song. But I can't at the moment. When extending, one of the two generations is utterly useless unless you add it in Audacity. If we can Tag one clip as Part 1 and another clip as Part 2 and then "get whole song" then that would be awesome. Deleting sections of the song too. Sometimes I realise the generation doesn't do the last line right, and I just want to delete it but Suno doesn't have that feature. If I could just crop the start and end, cutting out the unwanted bit, and then rejoin them with "get whole song" then I could have way more control and not need to go to Audacity

1 - 2 years is too long. If they have 1 model purely designed for remastering, where it nails guitar sounds without the shimmer of the high frequencies, then we will be set. Even V4 is good enough as a songwriter model. I expect they will sort that with the next up date. And it should be in a few months I believe. 6 months max. Then all we need is the ability to define part 1 and part 2 for "get whole song" If we get both of those, Suno will be unstopable.

Yeah I want 6 minute songs LOL. I think the replace section is pretty awesome for removing glitches. The issue is sometimes when it gets the length wrong and we need to cut out the section that's messed up. The levels of instruments would be cool. Completely agree here. Like setting the bass to be less would be good. Increasing the guitar volume too. I still think they wouldn't has as huge of an impact as a remastering model that fixes shimmer, and the ability to join any 2 clips we want. Their mixing balance is pretty spot on most of the time or at least close enough for the mean time.

I usually get vocals that are too loud and I would like to push them into the background but right now I cannot do that and it spoils many of my songs so I hope that something like that will work at some point without getting a completely new song when trying to correct it

Not yet. But it's needed. The easiest way for them to do it is to allow us to tag a clip as part 1, and another clip as part 2, and then use "get whole song" to join the two clips. Then we can just crop the start, crop the end, and then get whole song and it will join them together without the middle part.

Yeah I just use then to alter the original. So for instance, if I want lover vocals, I can just invert the vocal track to cancel out the vocals in the song, and then reduce the volume of the inverted track so that it doesn't cancel out as much.

I always want top shelf, but in folk music, I use "free improvisation" as a prompt to get around some lackluster vocals, for sure. So it gets things done while we wait. Have to blame the 90s when sus-4 droning chords , alt-tuned guitars and single note vocals were all the rage. Everyone suddenly got good at songwriting.

Say I want clean guitar intro, I could extend with clean guitar prompts and instrumental, forcing it to come up with a great intro. Then I could crop in and have my intro for the song. I just checked that "Remove section" Seemed to do a good job for me. I just didn't know they had this. Still it doesn't fix the issue of wanting both extended generations in the same song. Like 2 separate lead solos in both generations, but you can't crop out 1 lead solo and add it to another part of the song. Like Generation 1, as Solo1, and generation 2 has solo2. You get whole song for generation 1 but then you want to insert solo 2 earlier into the song. Currently impossible inside Suno.

I have a feeling that there is a "more like this" thing when you click Like on a song. So if you like songs for their songwriting but ignore the shimmer, then shimmer gets worse over time and so it generates more shimmer cause it thinks you like it. Whereas if you only like songs that don't have shimmer, it willthink you like bad song writing options and generate more bad song compositions but at least you won't have as much shimmer. I could be completly wrong about this but I find the shimmer is getting worse but the quality of the songwriting is amazing now. Like 80% of generations are something I would listen to all the time if they weren't poor mastering quality. I could be completely wrong though. Maybe my song writing has just made it super easy for Suno to generate great songs with.

Been trying like hell to get a drum pattern, only drums, using a simple prompt, and it keeps giving me piano pieces with cellos in the background and no drums at all.

It tries to give you a full song. You can maybe prompt for a couple of instruments like Piano and drums, and exclude guitar, strings, synth, etc, and then get the stems, which would separate out the drum track for you

I think there are some percussion styles you could try but I cannot recall the names, would have to Google but I have a track without instruments and just singing over drums, I used tribal drumming but there are also some Japanese styles and similar which have no music and are just percussion

Might be a bit late for this advice but I find extending frequently from early points in each part helps, or at least it means you can pick which one sounds better to continue from. Extending before it starts to sound bad is key for this. I'll typically keep generating the next part until I'm happy with combo of musicality + quality, then "get whole song" on the latest part to glue it together before continuing. Annoying to have to work around degradation but this is how I approach it.

I've always had fun running my English babble songs through Suno , by downloading then uploading and letting Suno transpose lyrics. Usually just a bunch of mixed words, sometime a three word phrase or two..... but...

Have you ever taken an "Asian" sounding babble song, download, upload , get the transpose characters of what Suno can pick up, then run that through , like, Google translate. It's shows up as interesting phrases and often full sentences.

Odd it doesn't work for English, but does for Korean so far. Next is Japanese.

Not sure I understand. Metering of most songs vary a bit per line. And Suno will reasonably stretch or squeeze a bit the overall song depending on the genre, and of course the amount of words, then create a shorter to longer song accordingly. How would one demand they want "these 200O characters within 2:37" and not find the pitch , delivery and inflections way off?

Or say I want these 100 words at 2 words per minute.... ?

True, I mean I take in the factor of it has to roll properly. Its more like with how bpm works. There are multiple ways to ask Suno to try and stay within a certain bpm. But there is no clear and obvious way to get Suno to both have a good beat and still sing/rap the words faster. Because I consistantly can get a good beat but unable to get a fast enough flow in the beat to work with the lyrics or I get a fast speed rap but litterally no beat

I got you. That still seems to be just getting the right prompts. Prompts such as "hyper" and "presto", even "fast" sometimes, along with genres that are associated with rap.

But yea, if you could prompt.to say these 400 words in 1 minute , that could be an option. Of course, if we could say "freestyle rap of 4/4 metering at 130 bpm", during that segment, it may be about the same result. Neither really work that way, just yet. 🤔

Seems like you want Suno just generates Lyric and Vocal over your music and keep your music as is...but I don't think it's going to work as you wanted that way...
Suno will use your upload and generate music arrangement base on it, and it can also maintain the melody but the music will be different than what you originally uploaded.

Not that I can tell and I really doubt it. ..but who knows
