Understood, make sure the original audio time + extension time doesn’t exceed 4 minutes. At least for uploaded audios, audio + extend cannot surpass 4 minutes, so you can extend the original audio starting from, for example, 1 minute, to ensure the extension has 3 minutes, if that’s helpful!
For full songs made on Suno, I believe the maximum extension time is 2 minutes.

I tested it here, and the extensions are working normally!

I just had a quick question. I had just made four free songs under the trial version. I decided to get 500 songs for $10. Payment went through and see the number 50 in settings. However, when attempting to write music. It shows I only have 2 songs left in V4 mode. Do I need to use up my last 2 free song credits to refresh the 500 (or 50) that I had paid for? Maybe it works better in the web browser rather than through the mobile app?

Swap to v3 and extend from where you'd like to end the song, using no lyrics and end as the only style prompt -- this brings to song down to v3 quality when you "Get whole song", but you can remaster to bring it back up to v4 quality afterward 💪

mmmmm kinda but not really, shimmer is still there on certain types of music, the simpler it is, the cleaner it is

I've noticed it on Trance, Drum and Bass and Heavy Metal stuff, but pop and hip hop are coming out clean. granted, these are the only genres I've looked into.

metal is the biggest culprit, always dirty and always has shimmer, 1 out of every 10 songs is clean for me.

@fallow musk I don't doubt that Suno may be "stuck" in how it's remastering that track, but there's a large number of my own tracks that have had the bass restored & shimmering removed from having remastered.

I'd noted that it can improve quality, and positioned that it wasn't a guaranteed process. Unfortunately, there isn't a ton of different approaches we can try regarding Remastering since it's a one-shot process (beyond realigned the lyrics, it's not like we can change prompts or something), seemingly it works really well when it works, and sometimes doesn't work the way we'd expect.

If it's absolutely refusing to budge, I'd be happy to take a shot?

I have the same problem. My maximum extension time is 1:06 and then suno just stops. Also the original song is no longer created with a full 4 minutes, but only 3:59 - every time.
Have you fixed this problem?

Hey @sterile peak, there isn't a specific document granted for songs -- the ToS grants you commercial rights if all of the segments were made while you were on a paid plan.

If your distributor needs some form of proof, you can send them the song links for the segments used in the song (which shows the timestamps they were created), along with the suno receipts that show you had paid plans during that month

If you're referring to the degradation problem of "thin and hissy audio," the issue still persists; I haven’t noticed any improvement since it appeared (after the second week of December, when users reported improvements in shimmer)...

For example, in the "New" section, this song was generated just minutes ago using v4 and has the issue. It's easy to notice by listening to the beginning of the song and then skipping to the end... the audio degrades over time, becoming very apparent the closer to the end it gets!

Unlike in 3.5, in v4 the problem occurs in all generations, not just in extends!

Don't know if you ever got an answer? I'm not very experienced, but my guess would be to download the instrumental and uploading it as a reference clip. Might have to crop it, and choose the best passage. Then prompt your way out of getting the best result. Mind you, that the upload audio will probably be just a reference, hook or the like. Depending on the flow in lyrics as well. You could also just try to extend and and add lyrics from a specific point, it would have a somewhat similar effect I believe.

Write to [e-mail] and explain your situation. They have been known to be very accommodating if you tell them what happened.

Remaster is a mastering option to re-apply the weight and DB of vocal and instruments as you would with a finished track in a live studio. So, you can't use the remaster without asking support for the commerciel rights since you in principal made the original under the free plan, giving SUNO the rights. Ask them and I cross my fingers you get it.

I think the new "download .wav" pop-up should be removed and we should go back to how it was prior. Suno is adding another step in the process of downloading a song, it was faster prior. Now I have to wait for the wav to be generated and can't do anything else on screen, before I could do other things while it was generating the wav file. Any Suno devs here that can explain the purpose of adding that popup? Seems like a step backwards, especially since we want to be moving at the speed of creativity.

As far as I know, Suno payment processor only accepts certain payments through Stripe, Apple Pay, and the Google equivalent. No cash equivalence, just credit cards.

If you paid less than what Suno charges ($10 or $30 USD/month), it is highly likely the person used a scammed gift card for payment and that was discovered and struck down

If you use the Audio Upload feature you can provide your own original beat for Suno to continue from, and provide the lyrics to be used along with the music

If you're on a paid plan, it can be a VERY powerful workflow to simply hum or vocalize the music you want & get Suno to cover your upload in a particular style -- once you have that beat, you can Extend from it to add your desired lyrics -- breaking it into a couple smaller steps gives you a lot of control compared to doing everything in one fell swoop (though that's still possible)

Unfortunately, Personas can't be made from uploads containing vocals (or sounds that Suno mistakes for vocals). It will also prevent you from setting those uploads Public as well as any tracks resulting from those uploads.

As I suspected, the song is created with a persona -- this contributes to the song being shorter.

When you create a persona, Suno seems to copy a small chunk of the original song so it knows what to make new songs sound like -- the length of that "context chunk of song" varies from persona to persona.

The length of this chunk is impacts how long the song can be -- while we don't have a way of seeing the length of these clips, I can infer that my persona "Boss Tones" uses a 14-second clip for context, meaning those songs have an upper limit of 3:46

Not quite -- when you make a persona, it is like Suno listens to that song and makes a small recording of the part that it REALLY liked so it can listen to it again.

We can't see or hear what those personas thought "the good part" was, but if every song from that persona has a 3:14 limit, it means that persona recorded a clip that was 46 seconds long, taking away from the 4 minute maximum time.

Yeah, everything we present to Suno is a suggestion, and sometimes it just outright hallucinates. Usually it follows the lyrics better than that, so I'd definitely report as ... > Report > Bugs > Doesn't Follow Lyrics

I've run into a lot of "quirks" where Suno just refuses to budge on something -- in the early days when the only feature we had was Extend, I found it incredibly helpful -- and still do!

If there's a track that starts off strong & sings the first verse well, create an extension point after that verse and extend from there to continue on with the second verse -- this way you keep the good parts and discard the rest, then you build on that success and only pick the extension that starts off the best -- survival of the fittest, Suno-style.

I find it's important to "get whole song" after finding extensions that I like to "lock everything in", this way the next extensions can hear the entire song, instead of only hearing the clip they're being extended from.

I understand some prefer to make songs as "one-shot generations", but if creating with Suno starts to feel like a slot machine, it's not "wasting credits" to try a new approach, especially if it lets you improve on the previous attempts you've made.

All it takes is an introduction that captures your heart, and you can build on it piece by piece, only using the beginnings of extensions that you fall in love with, and "rerolling" a new extended generation off of it as soon as it starts to bore you -- it might be a more involved process, but it's a human-driven collaborative process, and at the end you'll be left with a song that NOBODY can tell you "isn't yours" -- by not just continuing from the end what Suno gives you, but rather consciously selecting the parts to keep and the parts to discard, you're making legitimate transformative efforts that are the foundation of artistic ownership, imo -- anyone can continue to click "extend" without care until the song is a certain length, but only you would have chosen the clips you did out of the mountain of options Suno provided you with, each subsequent editing step further cementing it as something uniquely "you". 🙂

I’ve been experimenting with generating sounds that mimic animal roars, growls, and primal cries for a psytrance track. However, every time I try, the AI still produces something that sounds too human, even when using phonetic structures and excluding human vocals in the style settings.

I’ve tried different prompts, exclusions, and structured the lyrics field in various ways, but the result still leans towards human-like vocal textures.

Is there a way to influence the AI to generate more authentic animalistic sounds? Maybe specific keywords, settings, or adjustments I could make? If not, would it be possible to improve this feature in future updates?

I find sound effects are fairly tricky to trigger, I’ll usually come across them by chance before being able to force one. I can’t even get an “ECG Flatlining” sound in my songs no matter how I write it. So I imagine a animal roar will have similar difficulty until a future model that comes out is able to handle special sounds and lyric instructions

One issue is that suno seems to understand concepts. If your song is about a farm, it's possible suno will make a chicken cluck sound more than if your songs is about a spaceship.

So to get a ECG flatline, just using [beep] might get the response, but at the cost of having to write lines that indicate a life or death situation, or hospital setting.

Once we get a sound, if its not very generic, like [beep] or [buzz] then we may not be able to repeat it on command. It's in our bag of magic, but can't be used as a trick, at will.

At the cost of keeping the song out of "public" view, uploading sounds can be a work around. Finding spots in the song where it may work, crop off the beginning, write your song, then go under Replace to add an intro.

All this can be frustrating. Fun, once your done, but can be frustrating.

So it's a loaded question for many questions here about "how can I get this or that sound", when to get it might require a totally new song far from the one you're going for.

Many use "vocaloid" to get things started, but add in "anime" or even a specific animals girls name like Meiko.

But an easy way is just search the Hime page for " anime", listen to songs you like, copy the prompts, create a "dummy" song to get a vocal quality you like, then make a persona from that to have as your boilerplate vocal for your anime songs.

I'll be candid to say, many of the better anime sounds , without the robotic vibe of vocaloid, i hear in the Home page is just by using "anime" alone with no other prompt.

Or combine "anime, vocaloid" to get a more robotic sound.

Granted the prompts themselves may get you the song you like without making a persona.

It's important to use a good extension point. Mostly, I extend from the middle of a Verse or a Chorus. Listen closely at which point the lyrics start. Best not to choose something between two seconds. 😅

the cover thing works! sorta. you need to regen a bunch, but sometimes it messes it up and goes back to original lyrics, or voice, or both - but the great thing is you end up with interesting variations of the same/similar track which is excellent to do versions (for radio, for club, extended 12" mix etc) - it is not 100% perfect, but affirmative, using 'create cover song' is like remastering but allows you to play with vocals, lyrics, style, etc it is a creditmuncher, but does actually work ❤️ 🔥

tbh -- while it can help, I'd argue that you're uniquely positioned in regards to Suno because not all of the "traditional" descriptors work "like commands" as we'd expect them to -- Suno seems largely to "vibe" with the prompts we give it, so "stuttering" is JUST as effective as whatever hoity-toity technically-accurate description means the same thing on some sheet music -- except your brain won't always click into the route-one "musically correct" terminology, so you're likely to have a creative approach to how you prompt for specific sounds

Since 4.0, I found it hard to get accents when using English lyrics for regions that predominantly do not use English (e.g. Japanese).
However, when I used the other regions native script (e.g. for JP, I tried with both Kanji and Romanji), it gave me a JP accent.

Maybe take a portion of Song A and B, have an overlap in the middle where you want the bridge, and Replace that section then use that replaced portion to replace that region in the DAW

How do I get it to make a faster BPM version, I tried putting 120bpm, 130, 140 and spelled out beats per minute all versions were fairly slow. Any way to make it adjust for speed, trying for specific bpm for workout related songs.

Honestly, trying to prompt for specific BPM is a crapshoot. It might be easier to take a song that you enjoy, manually set the BPM and reupload it back to Suno, as it'd have a MUCH easier time maintaining a provided tempo

You can influence by saying the tempo in the style prompt like: upbeat, uptempo, very fast, etc.

It'll work better in some situations than others -- if there's existing vocals, they might end up stretched or squashed, but that's when I'd use https://bandlab.com/splitter to remove the vocals & stretch just the instruments, then attempt to add the vocals when I went to extend it (a lot of this is best done early in a song production before there's too much that could be lost by editing it -- we're just focusing on building the foundation for the rest of the song, at this point)

I hate saying it this way, but it's is functional the same a screw is function. When a screw works, it holds things together. But a screw can also pop out the other side, strip the material, or have it's head sheared off.

Replace is up and running. I used it twice today. Members who have been successful with Replace understand it takes a few preliminary steps and prep before running it to get the best results.

There are three tabs, edit lyrics, crop and Replace. The edit tab is used to review lyrics and make sure they are in current sync with the audio.

The more you use it the more you'll recognize the idiosyncracies ( repeating traits common to the tool).

I've gotten better at using it, but still have moments where it doesn't give me the results I want first few tries. But more than not, I get an accetable result within 10 or 15 tries at the most , 1 to 3 at the least.

Have you tried Remastering the song? I've spent LONG swaths of time trying to fix 1-2 second hiccups like that using Replace Section to fix a seam leftover from another Replace Section -- if you properly align the lyrics (making sure everything that's sung is written, with nothing else, the remaster seems to do a good job smoothing over those hiccups

1. You are trying to upload copyrighted material (both illegal and against Suno TOS)
2. Not an extension Suno can understand (wav, mp3, and mp4 are pretty much guaranteed to work. Unsure about other formats like flac, ogg, etc.)
3. Ensure you are in the time limit 6–60 sec (to 120 sec if you are a subscriber)

Hello everyone, I was catching up on the FAQ: Lyrics section left me with an uncertain questions. So if you write your own lyrics and then you use the A.I. which mixes your lyics up a bit and adds some A.I. so how would that work with Intellectual property with lyrics? Also, i use this for fun and have not thought about commercializing the music until i read about this. SUNO in basic account usage takes everything per se and waits for you to upgrade then you take control up-to you being able to commercialize your music? Did i miss anything ?

Copyright/IP does not look at one whole aspect, it is broken up.

So when registering copyright with your government Intellectual Property Office (e g. US Copyright Office), you will need to define each part as needed, such as:

• Lyricst
• Singer
• Composer
• Instrumentalists
  Etc.

Any songs made during the free plan CANNOT be used commercially, even if you have a subscription afterwards (e.g. it is not retroactive; you cannot commercialize the songs extended during a sub, when the first part was generated during the free plan, as it is a derivative of the first which solely belongs to Suno [and likely has an inaudible watermark designation it as a free song in that part]; etc.)

If you want to obtain a commercial license for a song you made during the free plan, you will need to contact [e-mail] after you have a subscription l. They are often good at that and will likely give you a written (thus documentable) permission to extend the license retroactively.

If you are overzealous about protecting your work, you are much better downloading the mp3/mp4 and uploading it elsewhere like YouTube if you want to share (this will prove you uploaded it first and, by keeping your suno link hidden, can be used to dispute any copyright claimer as a form of proof).

If you are planning to distribute:

1. Remember that only songs created during the subscription period is yours forever. So extending a free plan song is a no go.
2. NEVER share your MP3/Suno link until the song is successfully distributed. There are autodownloading (and some distributes) bots lurking on Suno and even on this Discord
3. Write your lyrics in Google Docs or the like where a third party can show the timestamp of your creation in case it is ever needed
4. Keep records. Have a PDF of Suno TOS, records of your membership, track your Suno URLs in an Excel (and would not hurt to save the webpage along with the WAV/MP3), etc. If it is ever needed in the future

Yes only this issue happens to me all the time I try to replace the section.

This happens in a number of Replace Sections that I do -- I find the easiest way to "repair" them is to correct the lyrics (which "aligns" them to the lyrics being sung), then remastering the track.

Unfortunately it can be a frustrating experience trying to fix these "record skips" with another Replace Section, so I find this to be the most effective manner. (this isn't my preferred method, as sometimes I'd prefer the original "mastering" and don't care to "reimagine" certain aspects, but this is the most direct method that we have atm)

I'm using the "recreate section" option on a remaster. The remaster has an excellent chord progression but the lyrics are all wrong. When I try to change the lyrics it works fine, but it also changes the chord progression to something different. I'm not sure how to explain it.

It's a bridge with the wrong lyrics, but when I change the lyrics it also changes the bridge chord progression to the chorus progression, whioch I don't want it to do.... I hope I'm making sense haha

You can try also in the lyrics as a metatag, yea. But I put in the styles prompts (genres) box for a total song influence. Hey, in styles at the right point might even work better, that I don't know. As you see in the example, "broadway" was the first prompt, so the whole thing sounds like a song on stage. I would not go that far, in your case - im sure your genre is different.

But suno pulls characteristics from songs which are similar to each other and calls that a style. So, if most deathbmetal songs, metal song, acid rock, ballads, folk, pop, easy listening, soft rock songs, bee bop songs from 1965 to 1985 faded out at the end, then putting "70s songs" in your prompts might influence it better than putting "fade out" in your lyrics..... or Since Broadway music has ALWAYS used modulation as a song characteristic putting "broadway" in your prompt list might nudge it to modulate than trying "modulation" or "chord change".

Don't forget, you can change both style prompts and metatags into each extension you do, to try to change it up from the previous parts. If you do, I might say, dont do Get Whole Song , before that special extension, so it may only read traits from the previous extension.

Ah, not at all, that's entirely different. Scraping Web pages relies on their current structure to the large degree. There are heuristics that permit certain deviations, but Suno (and, generally, any website) may change as often and radically as they want.

I would guess it's just Stripe protocol, but it makes sense you have to then cancel the subscription and it expired, before restarting. Else it keeps it active and "virtually" adds each payment due as if we have been using the service.

Hmm.. It is a hit and miss much of the time. But trying to get the right sound is often also based on the music period and select instruments. i often succeed like this in the prompt: period, genre, voice, tone of voice, Instrumental focus, instrumental back-up, key, back-up genre or style reference.

EX: 1960s, psychedelia / jazz fusion, male voice, heartfelt, Hammond Organ, vox organ focus, subtle guitar, E-minor, symphonic.

🤷 Suno's probably just a bit too overzealous in its detection and is picking up on minor vocal-like qualities in what it hears.

Often with a question about logging in and discovering a "new" account indicates we accidently , at one point, created a new "free" account when we thought we were logging in.

The "Create New Account" and " sign In" screens look exactly the same, and many have made the mistake of creating a new account.

The answer has been for members to use 1) forgot user name or 2) forgot password or 3) log out and try logging in a couple of time, each by a separate user name or telephone number to see where each goes. We often discover we have one account under " Google sign in" and another under a telephone number, or two different phone numbers, or two email addresses, or a variation of those.

Be careful you are never CREATING another new account, so if it asks to verify a PIN it sends you, likely it thinks you are creating another account.

Look carefully whether you are SIGNING in or creating a new account while you attempt to discover and find access to your original account.

After various try I achieve that, but it worked 1 out of 35 to be honest. So I will not be 100% sure about how to achieve it all the time. Of course I could just create a persona now, and I will get pretty similar results (but even with a persona….you don’t get the same vocals all the time)

Did you ever get a respond? It's quite noticeable as you point out. What you can do is to try making an extension from the point where it changes. Might solve it. Keep in mind though it will try and match the structure of the lyrics. If the flow of lyrics don't actually match between verses it's more prone to make up some shannanigans. It might also help if you tag in, how you want it go from verse to chorus - [break] [solo] [hook] or whatever works for you.

hmm, so and so. lets say your song is 3 minutes. you then extend from the 01:30, it will make a suggestion to match the first 01:30 not what was in last 01:30. If it makes sense? The more you give it to work with time vice the better - hence extend as close to endning as possible. Keep the prompt the same. remember to add what lyrics you want from the extension point, don't add all the lyrics again or it will mess the extension up.

I've been generating my instrumentals not with the instrumental "flag" switch but with a lyric prompt [instrumental] and then using "┳┻┳┻┳┻┳┻┳┻┳┻ ┻┳┻┳┻┳┻┳┻┳┻┳" instead of lyrics in the sections then used. There are official instructions for this. You can use the [Outro] and [End] section directives then.

Adding tags to end and outro obviously works. But V4 sometimes can't finish the composition, no matter what. In that case - just fade it out in editor and be done with it.

Generally speaking, when it comes to AI, if you want something to NOT appear in whatever you generate, you need to avoid mentioning it at all. AI will take any mention in a prompt as positive encouragement, even if you try to negate it. "No soloist" results in the AI seeing "soloist" and increases the odds that it will use that keyword. The "exclude styles" checkbox is the way to go for something like this, I'd imagine. That's how you properly negate keywords.

sure, except that exclude style evidently refers to certain musical styles that should be excluded from generation, but it doesn't seem to work with single instruments. That one actually started as a guitar upload and uses 10 to 12 extensions. It was a constant battle with shimmer and v4 degradation (as well as trying to keep Suno from turning that somewhat unique voice into Generic Suno Male - a battle that I ultimately lost).

I discarded soooooooo many Shimmery and noisy extensions that were otherwise awesome. 😦 Had to be very careful with my extension points.

I generally use about 10s of silence. That leaves a bit of room in case I later want to play around with the intro via Replace

I absolutely hear you. I am finding myself being OK with what I called the "shimmer minimum" - the amount that I hear because I know exactly what I'm looking for, but that a normal listener will not think twice about. Reality is, I can only get "shimmer minimum" on rare occasions. Yours is one of the very first in the rock/metal genre I've heard where my spot checks didn't find -something-.

It also makes sense that it was a guitar upload, because that's about the best produced electric I've heard on Suno.

I lost my studio space when we needed my mom to move in with us, so I can't do that often, but I am definitely wanting to play with uploads more once I have space to do legit recordings.

My current battle is my EQ fight I mentioned above, trying to get the beginning of the song to be EQd like the end.

If you want to use the one I generated to slap an ending on the song, you can have it - Just gotta select "Get Whole Song" from it's track menu and that'll rebuild it in your library. I've already deleted it, but it'll still be accessible to you until I purge the trash.

as in, a few months ago using v3.5 , extending my vocal snippet generated additional lyrics - right now its only generating instrumental unless i type lyrics manually, and no i dont have instrumental checked.
