Longer is just using extends. If there are odd extensions or just goes off in the wrong direction, about all you can do it try another extend -- with trying a point a second or few seconds earlier than the last one.

Extends are best to find a break point where it makes sense, such as between a verse and bridge.

Extends go for 2.minutes on free subs and 4 mins on paid.

You might wish to play with the idea of extending after every section, rather than just the end of the last output. This might help sunonpick up on the groove and vibe of the previous and keep the vibe going through to the end.

Oh and yes... as @glossy scaffold mention, AFTER you extend, you can extend off the extension, or you can , at any time click the 3-dot menu and choose "Get Whole Song" to connect each extension together for one whole song. It's not over, you can then do again and extend that new song and continue the pattern of extending and getting whole song.

Yeah you can just keep extending. If you only get short extensions it's usually possible to either: 1) Retry from an earlier timestamp or 2) Just extend the extension anyway (unless it's starting to "wind down" the song, in which case it's likely to always do that.)

I came here to say, I've heard this shimmer effect before when making music in FL studio and what fixed it for me was clicking on the settings of a sample, and clicking Cut by 1/1 meaning if it played a sample twice the sample would retrigger and cut the first one off so that it cant overlap. Super easy to make happen here in Suno I believe. Suno can we have the documentation that makes Suno, Suno? Not to change anything. But to see what we can notice.

Try everything. I mainly use 3.5 now anyway and keep v4 for clearing up sounds. Cuz old songs cleaned up with v4 will bring out the shimmer that was already there. It was just such an undertone that v4 is now raising the high ends and adjusting EQ in such a way it shimmers or whatever

Technical discussion: I'm more than willing to study and study what makes Suno tick, for my own interest not to copy or make my own version, but to see where I can provide Suno with some training data, or how it hangs onto ideas of elements like delay or reverb or even filtering automation, if it knows terms like cutoff frequency and LFO and cut by or retriggering. If it has a master track and a pre master. Track with the effects routed through each other to sound the way they do in the final mix. Maybe there's a smart shutoff switch for all plugins that can stop sound coming from any sources of sound generators. How it chooses it's instruments when u give it no style or how it even engineers it's own sounds.

Hey I found that simply using stuff like meta tags and crafting songs in "song form" it will usually end itself if it knows its winding down though an outro. Informing it where it is in the generation process can help especially if youre extending and get full song cuz it will see you've got that 3minute length. Sometimes I get two songs in one, I just split them and move on. I'm horrible at actually taking the time to generate an ending. I play most music on repeat anyway but I do hate the sudden cutoff sometimes.

Suno AI seems to be in a rut today. Fed it my lyrics. Tried six different genres; and it pretty much came back with the same "vocalist" and style (except for some of the background music instruments). And each song was essentially the same length (3:25 or 3:26) even though that meant ending in the middle of a verse. Giving up on it for the day. Maybe it will be in a better mood tomorrow.

The lyrics might be the culprit here. They can have a strong influence no matter the style. Things to try to break Suno out of a rut:

1. Copy and paste your style prompts 2x or 3x in the prompt to make them stronger.
2. Start the song with fake lyrics, and vary your lyrics between retries, until you get the music and vocalists you want. Then Extend the song with your real lyrics (Or turn that song into a Persona and try using your real lyrics). You may not need to go so far, even just a fake first verse and real lyrics in the rest of the prompt can sometimes be enough to push Suno out of a rut.
3. Start the song from anything other than a pure text prompt. Start from a few seconds of another song. An Upload. Use any Persona. Cover a song (even if you aren't making a Cover of that song, try anyway.). This will get a lot more variety in the results overall. This is a general strategy to generate much wider in Suno, you'll get some weird stuff, but also find hidden gems.

Feeling sad at the moment as V3.5 captured a pretty good interpretation of my voice and even caught a reasonable sense of the kind of melody I had in my head. If you are using a persona or making a cover, the length is reduced by different amounts, based on the original song length (longer original will cause shorter new song.)

I tend to find that cut-off lyrics will automatically continue into an extension even without putting anything in the lyric box, or you can delete the lyrics that were already sung and the AI may continue from where it left off. Shouldn't result in a "hard cut" when you use "Get While Song"

Ah, I see what you mean. Basically what Remaster does is makes a new song (kind of like Cover) where it makes the voice clearer and tries to make it sound like how it was sung, but may not preserve how the music was.

Noticeably, Remaster also makes the music sound more muted.

Previously, I recall if loading a persona onto lyrics, the style prompts of persona ALSO loaded in or over any style prompts previous. And subsequently, if you then go back and "reuse prompts" of, say, old song #2, it would load those old lyrics AND also style prompts over anything in the style prompt box, while the persona stays the same. Basically: >> whichever done last, gets their prompts pasted in the styles box.

Now, it , having picked and loaded a persona, will just blank out the styles box and we have to type in what styles we want. Is that to be a "neutral" compromise revision that has happened, or is that a bug. Anyone else having the same process recently?

If you want a specific sound, it's definitely not fun if you set up camp with one particular style prompt and re-roll Suno like a slot machine endlessly until it hallucinates what you might have wanted -- but if you use simple style prompts to get an understanding of what each of them can reasonably give, and start to "finger paint" by mixing them together to see how they'd mix, you can start to get a more tangible understanding of your specific genres or effects

This doesn't mean you'll understand EVERYTHING about Suno, or be able to tell others with certainty how to get certain sounds, but you'll just be able to FEEL what's possible and not possible through sheer luck of asking for "edm" or however complicated the prompts get

1. It's against Suno's Terms of Service to upload audio that you do not own the rights to. You have broken the ToS by uploading audio from a movie.

This is basically how I approach it as well. I have fairly basic prompts and try things until something gets my attention, then just keep extending with a few simple prompts to try to coax it in a particular direction but I don't keep fishing until I get something that best matches my prompt - I stop when my ears are happy and then continue with the next bit.

Ah! Well, that's the oldest tool Suno provides, from back when songs used to be a minute or two long... Very useful.

It generates a new clip, continuing on from the one you extended from. You can either extend from the end (default) or you can set the time, which will be where the new clip starts from.

Then you can use "get whole song" on the new part to glue both clips together.

I find it sometimes continues singing the previous lyrics in the new clip, even if you don't provide any, or you can delete the bits that were already sung.

It takes some of the clip you extend from as context, so it should continue in the same style etc.

What personas seem to do is feed in some context from another song to get a new song started.

So although you can't set a persona for the extended part, it should continue with the one you were using.

The Library tab shows all of the songs you've made starting from the most recent, where you can flip through the pages to go back to the first song you'd ever made.

If the "Liked" button is highlighted, or there's anything written in the search bar, it could prevent you from seeing everything you've made recently. 🤔 You could also try using the Library-search function to look for styles/lyrics/song titles that you used (exact spelling is important).

That said, there's always a chance that something unexpected, or an error occurred -- if you're still unable to locate the songs, it'd be a good step to contact [e-mail] so they might be able to look into things on their end 💪

If you click on the 3-dot option menu for the song, and the "create" section looks like the image below, it means the song is still generating.

After you click "create", it takes a couple seconds before you can listen to the song -- it takes a bit longer than than before the song has finished processing.

If you share the song link before that wheel finishes spinning, instead of getting the video to watch & listen to, the link looks like yours did.

You will see this "extend" button when the song has completely finished.

Anyone tested making a persona from a cropped out vocal? If I find a nice baritone voice in a duet, crop out the vocal and make a persona from that crop, is it enough to emulate the baritone?

I tried once and got a new voicing, both male or female, and different each gen, so it failed on first attempt for me.

@jolly karma It kind of happens randomly but frequent enough within a dozen generations. But an actual force, I don't know.

Just by putting the lyrics "ohhh" either within the lines, or at the end of line you can experient and massage them around a bit until something clicks.

Most results with be a call and response with occassional bleeds or medley of one over the other -- but mostly call-and -response. But it's a nice effect nonetheless that you may be able to incorporate.

Suno tries to stay in beat and meter, so if there are too many words, suno may skip over any words in parentheses, but you can try:

Mary had a little lamb (oh oh oh)
It fleece was white as snow
But (ohhhhhh) everywhere
That Mary went --
(Hmmm)
The lamb was sure to go.

Spacing the lines can add a "breath or slight pause that suno will better meter the "oh" and "hmm" . The double dashes also help lengthen the meter within the tempo.

For fun, you can throw in "isicathamiya" at the end, middle or beginning, of your style prompts list , which is an African chant style (though we hope you don't get that) but it's nuance is that it's specifically uses call and response or "double" medley voicing in its style.

And a pro tip: you can get both to sing parts (random results) but putting parentheses within each other.... such as: This is (a test (to see)) what happens.

You have to copy it already after you’ve done all the timing and it’s ready to set. There’s no reasoning for me to revisit the home screen so I have to start the whole process over just because I need to grab the lyrics that are required in the box that does the recreation! Also In your playlist is the most horrendous thing to ever be made in audio listening experience there’s no way on an iPad whatsoever to navigate from the track you’d like to hear to the track you don’t without it going out of order into some weird thing that makes no sense whatsoever other than you just wanna break your iPad and say F you Suno. Yes, trying to organize is absolutely crazy. You’re giving us an option to select multiple songs into a group making it easy to take that group that you selected and put them in a playlist folder on the IPad, however you can’t do that on the iOS app or the webpage on the PC , but you have to go onto a PC after you’ve already used your iPad to put in a playlist in order to put it in order that you would like so two separate devices to do one task.

Capoeira ? I’m not familiar with that type of music. But try to get your timing right in your extension if the time you extend it has a guitar before it is most likely will continue the last sound of heard so you might need to extend it before the guitar comes up if that makes sense. If you extend for example a 3:00 min song at Time 2:30 and there’s guitar a few seconds before that extension you might continue that same instrument or vocals but if you back the time up to like 2:27 before the guitars or any other instruments or vocals come in that you don’t want it should give you a different result

Sometimes the AI hallucinations when utilizing those tools can clean up the audio and it can be fun. But the organization on this website is horrible so make sure to label your songs so you can find it later in the mess of thousands of generations.

When doing a cover of a song on stage, you're singing the exact lyrics, but in your style or even similar to the original. So suno is the same. It will actually sing quite the similar song with small sometimes indistinguishable changes. It's intent is to let you change the style different enough from the original that it makes a noticeable difference in the music and arrangement to fit the new genre/style while keeping the lyrics and melody the same or nearly.

Technically, it's not make to change lyrics, but many including myself use it to attempt to change a few words here and there.

I've been trying to get this song public since mid November now, but the button to make it public is crossed out. I assumed it was because of the fact I made it with uploaded music. I linked them to the origin of that uploaded music. It was another song I created on Suno, but I cut it down to a few seconds. Now, two weeks later - Still no fix. What gives?

If vocals are detected in the upload, nothing made from it can be made public. The vocal detection can get it wrong though and detect vocals for things that don't have them.

I love Suno, huge fan and can't wait until V4 has all the bugs worked out.

At the moment I am very frustrated at a few things and I just wanted to vent here a bit:
#1 The shinnering and white noise that gets added is driving me crazy and preventing from 9 out of 10 tracks being finished.
#2 The speeding up and slowing down issue that plagued V3.5 is back 😦
#3 V4 usually on the 3rd extension just messes the beats up. Like a drunk dj on vinyl.
#4 the crazy hallucinations and simpleistakes. I also make educational songs for my kids like alphavlbet songs but with lyrics like D is for dog Suno produces E is for dog. Wow

For my deep house I found starting the track with V3 or even V2 and then continuing with V3.5 workd best. V4 HAS JUST SUCKED 1000s of credits in the last couple of weeks and flushed them down the toilet 😦

Apart from these I still think Suno is the GOAT.

Can you have it speak over music? That's how suno often configured a spoken voice.

Saying that only because I have done a spoken to no music in awhile, I may have forgotten.

You can try to put phrases in quotes to nudge suno to acknowledge they are spoken. As well as don't have any visible break points such as line-down breaks which make the phrases evenly metered or appear as lyrics. Just one long paragraph, similar to if you were to have word for rapping. If you haven't tried that, those two points I'm hoping will help.

One trick is to use your [spoken] prompt, in styles (no brackets needed) and in metatags. And once done if any music, click to separate the stems, and get only the vocal stem, if you're a paid subscriber. Then remaster to try to remove any sounds of bleed over from the instrumentals.

But with no prompts other than spoken or narration, etc. We hope it doesn't give music as well.

There is still a random element, and Shimmer can still come through even while using the above. It feels more like giving yourself a higher chance of not having shimmer. "Without: 95% chance of shimmer, With: 75% chance of shimmer."

Second Testing was using older "Full Songs" vs recently made "Full Songs." For remastering.
So far, maybe the quality of a more recently made full song is on the better side? I can't really be sure.

I've messed with a few different tags, genres and such. Some have no effect, or make the shimmer worse. There are likely tags that could work better, or that probably shouldn't be on that list. A few like "Master, Remaster, and Shimmer." Actually make the shimmer worse.
My guess is like "Exclude Styles" having something in there will only bring it to the forfront of the song rather than remove it. The reverse effect.

Random generation being the main culprit of shimmer.
We can however reduce our chances of shimmer in our songs, the best way currently is by doing remasters.
I'd recommend re-making a full track of your songs vs using an old full track. (For a better chance at less shimmer.)
Make sure your lyrics aren't overbloated with metatags. I've found [‑acoustic, ‑equalize, ‑restoration, ‑wide, ‑studio, ‑blur, ‑ring, ‑warble] work the best at the top of the lyrics space. (The symbol ‑ isn't the same as on the keyboard, its used in Suno for Exclude styles. Other tags may work, or work better here.) Again this for more chances as a better quality song with no shimmer.

Usually Suno uses piano as a default when you try to use something it does not understand.
Any prompts you can think of that may induce that?

You should also look into the specific subgenre you would like. I like using https://rateyourmusic.com for their hierarchy

You can use instrumental tags to direct it. Some of the broad tag includes

This is what I figured out. I use custom, instrumental, and keywords like "ambient, downtempo, dark" etc., in the exclude section i wrote "melody, melodic, piano, lead, " etc. Still Suno creates this melody piano style lead.

Technically, the issue of copyright for AI generated content is still before courts, however as far as copyright can go where Suno is concerned: If you created content using Suno and you have a premium account - Suno grants you any copyright claim as the creator and suno as a tool.

It's not a specific 4.0 beta issue. It's generally across the board. But 3.0 give button endings more often. I use 3.0 to end all my songs.

I think it preferred singing more, so passed the job back to 3.0

Since an entire track is generated when you click the button, it means that when you inpaint it still has to generate a beat with timing. Which splicing in a tiny piece would be a time consuming challenge in comparison to making the beat line up over a longer period.

Since it is more like frames than it is words, then it would be more like trying to splice two different videos together at different times of day. For endings respecting [End] and adding the ability to listen to parameters would be a nice solution. Something like [End, instrumental, 10 seconds] would ensure that after the last bars generated within the music that it'll generate an ending that ends with the backing track with a ten second or less flourish and that's that.

Since AI needs the marginal few seconds to interpolate how your changes will fit into what you have, so it can re-blend the two moments to sound seamless, then the 10 seconds is the minimal amount to make that happen.

I also hate my being used to cut and paste or splicing that it's frustrating to have to accept the limitation (and often the results) to get a good result.

The version of the song that I end up with usually does not go with the AI-generated picture that is used in the video. You pull up the options where create and edit are. Go to download and click regenerate video. I find it works best when I play the song that I want to regenerate. Not pause and unpause, but refresh the page then play the song and regenerate.

Know what you mean. It is NOT supposed to record over whatever lyrics you don't touch, so even if you went 4 seconds from starting point and 12 seconds after that point, it is supposed to expose the lyrics within that frame, into you lyric box, but to only change the words that you change and try to reinterpolate the rest of the words, sometimes changing the music a bit.

So, if it keeps taking your changes and overlapping beyond where the crop mark was, then that's an issue they have been working on.

As you may be noting, the samples are strange too where some may go 10 seconds and others go on for a minute.

There should be a toggle bottom under "exclusion" box where you can at least designate that you want the replace section to be the same times as what you're replacing. As an into, I don't know exactly how suno interprets that, but it might help to toggle it on.
