I tend to download the MP3 to a memory stick of any reasonable sounding songs, precisely because I worry they might change online. But I haven't actually noticed it yet for my own songs.

Covers and personas are beta features so they should be considered non-final and "unstable" in terms of how they behave. I expect those features were originally intended to launch with v4 but they released them early with a build of the v3.5 model powering them. Now v4 is here they switched to that instead.

If you're playing back older things that were generated, those will be the same MP3s as you listened to in the past. Suno doesn't re-process a song once it's done.

BUT! I have been using this gothic, neoclassical synthpop, darkwave, Cinematic, 80s Film, ethereal , baroque, symphonic for eons now and never been displeased. I just may alter to Female or male vocals, or may change gothic, to gothic rock. I may do a few alters here and there, this is my original I work off from. I never said anything about the lyrics being offensive -- the article I shared lists an overview of what kind of content gets blocked.

"i don't love you anymore" in the lyrics gives the same error.
"nsync" in the style prompt as well.

Weirdly enough I got that "shimmering" only in a few of my recent V4 generations.
In fact I really like the stuff V4 gave me and already got 2 very convincing songs even a lot of my friends found very impressive.

I think V3.5 was/is still more rich in variety, especially when it comes to vocal filters and "lucid ai dreams", and I hope the level of creativity comes back to V4 eventually

Hi, does Suno currenly have an API or are there any plans to have an API? An API has been available through github projects for some time and Suno was getting paid for usage, but in the last week, Suno seems to have replaced all lyrics to songs from these APIS to "You are using a fake website" or something to that effect. The API providers have for the most part already deprecated Suno as a result. There are a lot of people that would like to build on Suno and it would help establish Suno as a standard the way Facebook and Twitter opened up their platforms in the early days to expand their ecosystem. Currently Open AI has an api. Is the new strategy to force everyone to only use the Suno Website or app. It would be great if you could some guidance on whether Suno is opposed to API access or not as this change has been very sudden. In general, vocals are just better in v4, I haven't had a single convincing human in any 3.5 song, ever

they could do a temp fix for the shimmer. If you use the stem feature (it costs 10 credits tho) you get the 2 stems, the cvocals & the instrumental. If you download the wav & import it to Audacity or another audio program or DAW you will hear that it is clear of the shimmer. So Suno could simply get the stems & recombine them just like you would in audacity. You simply select both tracks & export as an audio file. the interesting part is if you use the AI separating module in Audacity the shimmer is still there & it is on the instrumental not the vocal (you will notice that if you play the stems in Suno anyway the instrumental will have the shimmer effect. So Suno really have no excuses to get this temp fix done, it's their mistake & people should not have to waste credits on stems just to get a track fixed.

i disagree I think the vocals in V4 are lifeless, they don't have character & although they are clear that is simply down to V4 being clearer anyway & that is why the shimmer is more prominent, it is on the V3.5 ones as well & you notice it now having heard it on V4, it's just muffled due to the poorer audio quality in V3.5.

I remember the times when Midjourney switched from V3 to V4. Overall sharpness etc was noticeably better, but many complained about lack of creativity in the newer model. It got there tho eventually. Can't agree. Some generations do sound flat and lifeless, true. But I pushed out 2 songs today with very convincing quality in vocals. They were very emotional songs tho for my wife as a little present as she finds AI music fascinating. One song even got her to tears. If the vocals don't transport good lyrics, it wouldn't create emotions. So I guess the vocals really did the thing this time

The vocals change too much in he remastering. If you have pretty standard vocals without any character anyway it will probably be ok, but if the vocals have subtle changes or a change in pitch the remaster wil leither gloss past that or will do it too much & the pitch sounds as if the speed was changed on the record

I think I am comparing to certain songs i did & the remasters are all poor. I have tried on some with pretty poor audio gens from V3.5 & that is probably why as well. There are limits on what the remaster can do. What i do like about it is if you do have a song that may have weak vocals it could bring them to life. But so far not been impressed with the remaster or even V4 genning & of course V3.5 can only gen without personas or covers now because it is using the V4 LLM - or they are forcing people to use V4 for those features.

Problem with too polished and clear sound Suno goes (v4 and future) is that more clear sound - more you hear anything you might not like) With worst quality you can accept some mistakes because they blended and not get heard/noticed.

And they have got to stop the max 3.14-3.20 on personas & covers. Wha tit is probably doing is sampling 40 secs of the track & that is taken off your track time, a bit like if you upload audio & use that before a track. If you use 40 secs of audio it will only gen 3.20 of the track plus your audio. The gens are too short & you have to mess around going into edit lyrics, copy paste & also find a suitable time to extend from plus you are using credits up doing it.

True. Some kind of "Roughness" slider would be interesting. A value to give the AI more "freedom" or make it more strictly follow your prompts.

Elevenlabs Voice AI has 3 different settings sliders to control the output. Give it more edge, be more clean, or go a bit more rampage

The clear sound on V4 sounds lifeless, no production quality. ideal probably to add effects etc afterwards. Maybe that is another feature they could add, a post gen option where you can add basic effects & eve ndo it to individual tracks. They really should give you the stems for free as part of the gen which would solve the shimmer problem as you could then combine them & do it all on Suno & the track would be fixed & still available to publish on Suno.

There is a lo-fi that normally fills the gaps. I had the exact same issue when I went from Instrumentals to beats for songs using a DAW and instruments. My stuff was too clean. There was no ambient left over to fill in the gaps. I had to move backwards to move forward...lol

Oh OK. Displayed lyrics are exactly that, Displayed lyrics. The only way to change the lyrics is to actually generate the new lyrics in the song. It won't be picked up by remaster since it wasn't actually in the song. Regardless of what lyrics are Displayed. Does that makes sense? You would need to do a replace or extend in the original generating and swapping out the piece you want

Can anyone help me understand how to replace more than one section in a song? I used the tool to replace on section, and after selecting "Get Whole Song" to insert it into the larger work, I intended to replace a second section. But when I now select "Replace Section" for the new piece (marked Whole Song) in the interface, the replace section tool works differently - it no longer recognizes the lyrics, and even if I put the original lyrics in, it replaces the section with garbled nonsense. I went back to the first, unedited generation and confirmed I can replace the second section there just like I did the first - but I don't know how to get both into a single whole song.

I see there is a "suno" watermark over the images for your songs. This is added by a protection mechanism Suno use against fake apps that use their service, and it impacts song generation as well (the songs are shorter and may have lyrics stating "this was created by a fake app" in the song itself.)

There are sometimes false-positives triggered by other things - the team have now set up a specific form to report this so they can fix this for you.

There is a memory retention period when extending. Basically half the time of the base generation as a rule of thumb is spent studying the song structure from the end (which is why base can be 4 min but ext has 2 min, as the other 2 min is reserved for the study)

So if a particular tag or style is beyond that study time, it would not have been learned and why changes afterwards. (The AI does not retain what it learned hence why it must reanalyze)

Most likely because v4 is in beta testing at the moment. Suno normally release new models and features to paying subscribers only at first. This allows them to get feedback and improve the model before it's fully released. Historically, new models have become available to all users after a couple of weeks or so.

I've always wondered. The "weird echo thing" has been a thing since I've joined. And the tinny hiss as well. I assume the tinny hiss -- whatever it may be called, as we may be talking different things-- is something that can be tweaked. But I figured the "echo thing" was just Suno spitting out what it modeled.

Kind of like most voices have an auto-tune quality, not obviously because they are pitched corrected, but that the past 25 years have songs that are pitch corrected and auto tuned to be modeled from.

That's why it's refreshing to write Folk, Big band, grunge,, and the like that auto tuned hasn't touch. You get out what you put in.

when i was recording an album back in the day. we used a retrigger of the hits on my drumkit thru a xlr trigger because the trigger would get to the desk faster and open the noisegate and then the mic would caputre the hit. but we had all the hits as midi after that so we re-triggered it into stevenslate drums and the toontrack vst. anyway longstory short. it sounded to perfect that they had this "humanize" function. if you are familiar. cause quanitize was seen as a nono. it was the next best thing.

I write lyrics to a melody and give it to suno to produce. Since lyrics have a specific metering, the more complex the more Suno will sing near or equally the same melody as written.

Nevertheless, between all the used credit and issues, of which I've banked off of using much of the hallucinations, I've kind of liked it all. And made a bunch of friends to boot.

It's been that you can't bring up a song and re-run , changing only the vocals. You can only run a cover and change the genre styles.

So , following, you can't bring up a song and choose a persona. Yes, that's like doing a cover. You can't choose a persona and somehow then attach a song to it either.

The only luck you might have is that there are enough unique prompts IN the persona's that you can copy/paste the persona's prompts into the styles box. Maybe add one or two of thr genre style prompts of the original as well to keep it generally the same... then hope for the best. See if it gets close or even dead on.

So when you get a song with shimmer, finish the song. Then use SUNO to separate the stems, and download the stems in WAV format (these details matter). Then, use Audacity or similar to recombine them. The shimmer will be largely reduced, or even gone entirely.

I've had exceptional luck using the stem trick to get rid of the shimmer. I mean, it sucks that I have to do it, but it's still better than nothing. And for all of the other great stuff Suno has done, I'm not going to bitch about it, I am just going to look forward to the next amazing iteration.

Until you download them, they don't sound right when you play them in Suno; it's only after downloading them and recombining them that the effect goes away. Don't know why; I am not a sound tech. I just know someone else recommended the trick to me, and it works. Not perfectly, but well.

Click on the hamburger menu next to the track, select the Create submenu, and choose "Get Stems". This will split the song into vocal and instrumental stems. Then, download each as a WAV, the same way you would any track. 🙂

“Edit Song Details” / “Edit Lyrics” can accept up to 7500 characters, but that’s for display purposes — and while the lyrics being aligned GREATLY helps v4 remasters for example, it’s not quite the same as the 3000 character limit in initial generations.

Remaster can vary wildly -- some will be everything you dreamed of, some will be bass-heavy, some will be mid-heavy, some will accentuate vocals, some will make it sound washed out and subjectively terrible (in my ears) 🤷‍♂️

Mastering IRL is super dependent on the audio engineer -- Metallica's "...and Justice for All" essentially has NO bass because that's the way they enjoyed that album -- it doesn't mean it's a "better or worse" album for it, it's just a reflection of that engineering process.

Growing up on prog rock and songs with ship themes -- Come Sail Away, for instance - this fit right into my likes. Has a nice 2016 "Dalton" vibe, as well. With a well balance of metaphors and external physical descriptions it kept the songs momentum, without stalling on just rhyming metaphors or feelings.
Good switch in meter on pre-chorus.
Bridge was too the point and good wrap of what the song was about. (Not just another verse)

I'm not struggling too much with replace at the moment. I just check it now and then. It tends to not say new words, skip words altogether, or what's a big issue is that it's no longer accurate on timing and bleeds over into the rest of the song. It's difficult even to manipulate and say, do 12 seconds instead of 15, it will adjust and still bleed over. They're working on it. So we wait. No problem.
