If it helps, it's my personal opinion that everyone needs to develop their own personal Suno-translation dictionary to figure it out -- you'll learn that different prompts have different weights -- unfortunately this means that something that works perfectly for a rock song might not work the same when combined with polka -- in this way, I believe that NOBODY is an expert at Suno.

I had asked chatgpt for a text in Old French so that the vocabulary would be richer.
and in the end I got a text with a lot of French slang, which in the end is very close to the way of speaking of Quebecers.
and by asking chatgpt to rework the text with a richer vocabulary and by giving the example of great French lyricists, the text came out much better.

I'm still planning on giving this a couple tries, but out of curiosity have you tried any generations with v3 instead of v3.5? While v3.5 is great at tightening a song's structure & adding lyrical cohesion, it tends to drift toward "generic" sounds without strong use of prompting or a strong melody to "hook onto" as an extension.

v3 is broad & versatile in terms of output, as noted in the dropdown menu, so it might give different results based on your prompts 🙂

One-shot generations, where you try to create your ideal song through the use of complex prompting.

Piecemeal, where you start off with a section you like and extend from it, over and over until your song is a collection of all of the best extensions you made.

One-Shots are SUPER satisfying, and it feels like you won the lottery -- a lot of people spend their entire "Suno Careers" trying to with the jackpot, and swear by different techniques to get better results, but don't want to talk about the times their methods don't work -- they'd rather talk about the few that Suno DID listen to rather than all of the ones it ignored.

Piecemeal can feel frustrating because you put more effort into it, but it's remarkably satisfying to finish a song how you want them to.

What's amusing is the many of us, who, when 3.5 came out ,would run one or three gens and get a lucky run just to think, "Yes, I've found the golden prompts!" Then question whether to mention these secret nuggets. Do a hundred more and realize, nothings guaranteed. Just share everything, maybe we learn or find a pattern.... be they helpful or a rabbit hole.

This will probably never happen. The reason why prompts change over time, or why they stop doing exactly what they did before, is because the developers are constantly implementing updates or running tests in the background. Sometimes even the smallest change can completely reverse the prompt's behavior. Then it needs to be fixed again, and in the end, it never quite works the way it did before.

Either way, if it’s not showing up in your Library screen, and it’s not in the trash, you might need to contact [e-mail] to let them know specifically WHEN you created the song, so they might be able to look into the matter for you (no idea if this is possible, but at this point the community help is out of options)

It would be great to have a scale bar from 1 to 10, similar to the CFG scale in Stable Diffusion, for the covers. The higher the value, the more accurate the cover is to the original song, while the lower the value, Suno has more freedom in generating the cover.

I have been using Suno for 2.3 weeks and for 2 days I have a problem..
I can no longer generate male voices, I have never had this problem before. I have always written requests like "male voice" and it was rare when by mistake I had female voices, but now it is the opposite, it is rare when I have male voices when that is what I want and ask for.. I even tried to use the new "exclude styles" feature but it does not change anything, I had to use 2000 credits trying all kinds of style requests to insist that I want male voices but nothing works.. help me, has anyone already had this problem and solved it?

hard to describe but maybe, I made the mistake of signing up to SUNO through google which had my email attached to it but my google account was compromised, the name and password both changed however I still have access to the discord/main email address associated with signing up but since it's a google login, it doesnt work. Don't put all of your instructions into a single bracket line. Separate them out for better results.

Suno is limited by recognition commands. You're speaking to a machine, not a person, there's only so many variables they can tag stuff with.

If you want things to increase, go faster, stuff like that, try along the lines of [growing intensity] or [building intensity]

If you want the flow to change try [heavy (descriptor - rap, guitar, etc)]

Different configurations have a lot of different results.

How you structure lines matters too. If it's on the same line, in block text - it's gonna drive through it a lot faster. Putting lyrics on different lines will create a break. It recognizes commas and hyphens, too, it'll "take a breath," so to speak when you drop those in. If you want a longer break, use [break]

Because angry is a really simple descriptor. Emotion is often attributed to music, across a broad range of musical capacities. The problem isn't that you're putting in "fast rap" it's the you do "male lead vocals fast rap"

Also, if you're using styles, it's redundant - the machine can only hold so much in its memory. Notice how where I put in [guitar] in my song, nothing changed there? Overwritten variable. Didn't matter, I still liked the result. But if you already have "rap" in your style box, putting it in with your designators within the lyrics is just eating up more memory and making it likely that it will get overwritten. Same with "lead" vocals. Is it a harmony where the male overpowers the female? If not, you don't need the word "lead."

So just [fast] would work out better. In my case, I didn't just want fast, I wanted ANGRY, so that it accentuated where I had exclaimation points and caps.

I find it easier when I build the song out by doing the intro and first verse, then bridge then prechorus, then chorus verse two, give it smaller chunks to work with and it becomes a lot more versatile. And for some reason, if you're doing like trap or house music, it turns doing [remix] up to 11.

15 tries. Picked up on the first verse being male vocals, not the second though. So if I wanted to make this a project - I'd have to extend again after where it got the male vocals to try and push it to get the male part again on the second part.

I've had songs that are upwards of 10 stitches and took me 4-500 tries total. Depends on how determined you are to get your perfect sound.

How to use:
1 - Find a song you’ve created in your Library or in Create
2 - Right click or go into the More Actions menu

4 - Use the pink waveform selectors to pick the start / end of portion of your song you would like to keep

6 - A new song will be added to Create and your Library

I would try Sultry Female Vocals, Deep Female Vocals. The voice you get is also dependent on style. K pop songs are probably gonna have higher pitched vocals then Symphonic Metal, so it's just harder to get something that deviates from typical style standards

From what I gather, you're saying that when you use the new Crop feature that the original song disappears from your library altogether -- is this something that you're able to reproduce reliably?

I just tested on my end and the original is still there in addition to the cropped track.

nope after editing the song name in the ‘Song Details’ section then pressing the ‘X’ to close the tab, the whole song disappears from my account.

Only experienced on PC so far, and started after the new update to the website. Will try and get a screen recording of it happening in real time.

Definitely something to contact [e-mail] for, but if it's reliably reproducible, that gives you something to test, whether it's for your own curiosity, or to help get better results from Suno Support.

If you crop a song & make it disappear like this;

• do you lose the ability to search for it in your library?
• does it disappear from playlists?
• if you extend from a song, the sidebar displays a link to the original track -- if you extend from a song, then crop it, are you still able to access that song through that link? (pictured below)
• if you copy the song link and try to visit it after it's been cropped, does the link still work?

and to answer your question, after pressing “X” the page refreshes and every single trace of it is completely gone. No way to access the song in any form. also it only happens from changing the title name. I don’t think cropping plays a part

Sorry, I misread at first -- but when I edit the song title, click Save Song Details, then click the X to close the Edit Song Details popup, the song remains exactly where I expect it to be, with the new updated title.

Crop tool already puttin' in work here. It rescued a track that got improved further with a Cover

shame I can't share here... content's too spicy. But at least Suno has no problems rendering it 😺

and, while this ain't quite technical (but will still help improve songs), this being my third track with pure human-written lyrics, I'm a full convert. They just flow so much better, IMO

plus, if the song is under about 3:30 complete, a Cover is gonna likely be my final step in 'finishing' a song, at least until v4 drops.

While vocalists are empowered by having twice as long of a context to provide Suno to try to mimic their vocal timbres, it REALLY empowers musicians who want to take their production workflows to the next level beyond "rolling the dice" or trying to master complex prompting.

Seems like Suno does not like when you make songs over 20 minutes long. Every time I try to get the complete song that's over 20 minutes the parts between each extension do not match up normally and sounds completely different when it extends correctly. I guess am going to be manually cutting and combining past the 20 minute mark.

Yeah, 3.5 is overturned to the more popular genres. For more unique ones, try generating an intro [instrumental?] piece in 3.0 first then extend it to 3.5 for the better song structure.

To vastly improve your chances, you will want to look into what that genre or music is actually called though. I like using https://rateyourmusic.com for their genre hierarchy.

As for the voice, try having some style prompts if you haven't tried, like "irish vocals", "gaelic", ga or gle (language code), etc.

Edit: Harber did a test with this scenario and his regenerated video used the latest image all throughout the combined video, no old pics appeared.

Were you playing the downloaded video or was it embedded on Discord/elsewhere? The latter likely has the old video cached, esp. if your downloaded one was working as intended

But now the three have vanished from the library. I've doubt checked trash as well as making sure the "liked" and "public" filters were not on too.

If you're on a paid membership, you can use the Get Stems feature to split a song into a "vocal" track & an "instrumentals" -- this method isn't perfect, and there's often still some "bleed through" between the tracks, but serves as a quick and easy way to handle the matter, plus the song gets to stay on Suno.com

Alternatively, and more powerfully, you can use a dedicated Stem Splitting service and remove the vocals externally -- the downside being that you're limited to 2 minutes if you want to reupload the song back onto Suno.com (until recently it was only 60 seconds, this is a huge improvement 😄 )

Because it is fast, effective, and doesn't require additional training, I love suggesting Bandlab for these purposes -- especially their Splitter (https://www.bandlab.com/splitter), Audio Editor (https://www.bandlab.com/studio), and post-production mastering (https://www.bandlab.com/mastering)

Most wiki can be edited by anyone. Suno does not have an official wiki (as far as I know) but the closest non-official I know was https://suno.wiki, which was contributed by certain members of this Discord (and editing is limited to a specific few)

There may be some sound effects but reproducibility is often questionable. I know [beep], [scream], [laugh] works

I understand it stings when you stockpile a bunch of credits and they disappear at the end of the subscription cycle, but this is normal, and is stated at the bottom of the https://www.suno.com/account page -- the fine printed "credits don't carry over from month to month" doesn't always click in until the rubber hits the road, but it's usually too late by then.

I'm the exact same way -- I've trained myself to be conservative with token-based services so my dollar goes further, and it was kind of a rude awakening the first time I ran into it, but I understand how it's a means of averaging out the expected server usage to make sure that everyone is able to use it for free -- because they've set things up this way, we haven't experienced any downtime where only paid-users can access the service in quite a while.

The example I provided started off with rain as an atmospheric effect, then music extended from that -- it might be difficult to get Suno to keep that existing sound and add rain overtop.

Would it work just as well if you added the rain music afterward with an external tool?

That would be the most straightforward way -- even if you wanted Suno to do the heavy lifting for most of it, you might be able to add rain effects to your track externally -- quick and easy track overlay on https://www.bandlab.com/studio if you can get a rain sound effect somewhere, then you upload the first 2 minutes back into suno.com and have it extend from there -- it might continue the rain effect as well as your song.

But as long as you don't care about the song only living on suno.com, adding the rain effect externally is going to be WAY easier and save you lots of credits, time, and hassle.

Using [brackets] will suggest_ to Suno that you want harmony, but there's a lot of things to consider that might impact it working "like a command" as one might expect;

• how well the concept of "harmony" is classified in the training data (not something for which you can always just get a better version)
• how strongly weighted "harmony" is, if recognized
• how many other [metatags], style prompts, and thematically-driven lyrics it's balancing at the time, and how strongly weighted they are

If you put too many words in the brackets there is a greater likelihood suno will treat them as lyrics. Try to to keep it brief (usually people say around 3 words). but even then it's possible for suno to still speak them (but it's rare)

Well put -- I'd be curious what was used as a metatag, and how many of the allowed characters were being used at the time.

I became very familiar with "token context" in regards to how AI interprets our prompts back when Bing AI was in the very early stages -- only ~5 messages exchanged before the conversation reset entirely, because after a certain amount of time it was overloaded with context to remember, and would start making mistakes or hallucinating. A lot of work went into refining this, and now the free version of ChatGPT can keep an entire novel in context -- I don't know how the transition between text-based tokenization and AI's ability to "tokenize" music correlate, but I feel like using that as a comparison has really helped me set & temper expectations for Suno, and therefore get the most out of the platform.

there are several levels of issues you could run into. major issue is the automoderation insuno itself. sometimes it doesnt like lyrics, but thats fixable with creativity. second issue is if you want in the trends, there is another filter that is very specific and nobody knows how it decides. the next issue is this discord here is a company discord and a place for young and old, so the tracks should not be too hard if you post them here. How mods/guides decide if its ok to post here i explained above.

The user who commented right above you, @cunning mulch, actually spent a good amount of time looking into the covers feature without specifying any Style Prompts in an attempt to get the same rough style but with slight differences -- in my mind, that implementation is less of a "cover" and more of a "tribute performance", but the naming is just semantics

My use of covers has been focused on adapting specific styles, like rock to ska, or metal to country, but I haven't specifically tried for vaguely-similar, so I defer to Tiberious who's actually tried that.

That said, I would be curious whether using no style prompt (and thus letting it be guided moreso by the lyrics or original) would work better than reusing the original style prompts. Food for thought 🙂

When I make a song and extend it several times and when I finish it, I don't insert a picture and I don't regenerate the video. After that I post that track on Discord, when I open it I see all the messed up text and all the other thumbnails when extending, and when I insert the image for that track and fix the song text so that everything is ok, then I regenerate the video the result is disappointing because when I post the song on discord again, the result is that everything is seen out of order, the text is not updated and different pictures appear on the extensions again. When is video is downloaded, the video is fine and everything is updated when i look that video on VLC . How to overcome Discord problem?

From my understanding, the first time you share a Suno link on Discord, Discord saves a "snapshot" of what the video looks like so they don't need to reach out to the website each time -- they can just continue to show the version they already have -- much easier on them to just reuse the same "local version" each time.

The issue is when we update the video, it can take a while for Discord to realize their "local snapshot" or "cached video" isn't up-to-date.

While I've seen the issue resolve itself after varying lengths of time, the only immediate workaround that I'm aware of is adding / to the end of your suno.com/song link -- this counts as a "new website", so Discord attempts to cache it separately from the version without the slash, so it can help you share an updated video link immediately without waiting for the cached version to expire 💪

Hi @upbeat perch, some people have found experimental success with using the Cover feature to affect minor changes in their songs, but it's not a reliable use of the feature.

Unfortunately at the moment, the best way to edit the songs is indeed to download them. https://www.bandlab.com/splitter / https://www.bandlab.com/studio / https://www.bandlab.com/mastering are 3 great tools to edit your songs.

Very recently, we gained the ability to upload 120 seconds of audio upload (compared to 60s), so now you can edit the first 2 minutes of a song, and reupload to have Suno continue with the improved audio quality 😄

Covers are a very unpredicatable feature at the moment, this is why it is listed "Beta" -- the team have given 200 free covers so people can give thumbs up and thumbs down to help them learn how to improve the feature for its full release.

While covers CAN return the original song with minor variations, this behaviour is considered suboptimal, as the feature is designed to "shift styles", for example, making a reggae-ska version of a country song, or a rumba version of a slow love ballad.

There is still much learning to be done from the community, but I'd be happy to help if you're having issues finding success with Covers or remastering the songs externally. I've found a great deal of success using many extensions "stitched together" to create my ideal songs 🙂

I've found covers can be good at kinda 'unifying' a stitched-together song

I've also found that the style prompt can influence greatly how much the Lyrics box is read, if at all, when doing a Cover

The moment I started trying the 'karaoke' style prompt, Suno was doing its best to incorporate my lyrics edits into the generation

my recent song, This ol' Clown World, had some lyrics updates between versions, and I wanted to fit the new lyrics into the old version, and a generation with about 3 repeats of "karaoke" in the style prompt spit out one that got all the major changes implemented, without any real style switching. The usual Suno monkeypaw though, was that I got a female vocalist, even though she's giving the same performance as the previous version's male

Also my method for properly stitching content that was edited externally, but not seemlessly blended -- like the drum fill for one song, and the guitar line from another -- just put them side by side and let the cover feature smooth it over.

I know you're usually the scientist type, but I found that doing that has a high tendency to give you updated lyrics

(unfortunately, it also tends to be interpreted as Japanese-influenced, and female vocals...)

Based on your sample verse, try this:

So long as you keep verses similar in 'shape', syllable-wise, Suno will pick up on it quite easily

It helps if you use "duet" in the Style prompt. Maybe even "male and female duet" or "man and woman duet". Use the same words that you use in your meta tags in the lyrics. Those tags in the lyrics only indicate the beginning of a part. You don't need the slashes or the endings. Maybe add a "throw away" intro that says:
[Man] I am the man.
[Woman] I am the woman.

Hello, qq, I had a 4-parts song that I started back on September 5th, however, I don't know what happened but the last part I am trying to make is just all messed up, Suno does not follow the music style, the song syle is "Rock" and the voice was perfect but now every attempt sounds like a pop singer, I even tried adding pop or similar to the excluded styles but it is still doing the same, any ideas? I have been using Suno since March I guess and I always do the same, create all the parts then the whole song and everything as been doing great until like one week or week and a half ago when, at least for me, everrthing went crazy 😅

When you extend from the 4th part, suno only sees the 4th part. So, as you make more and more parts suno will deviate more and more from the original. When you extend from the Whole song Suno sees backwards for two minutes (at least that is what we think) so it will see more of the original pieces of the song and have that to work from. Try extending from the whole song

While "hallucinations" are bound to occur to matter what, I find that the closer I get to using the entire allowed character limit, the more likely Suno is to "hallucinate" -- especially by skipping verses or repeating earlier sections.

I've said many times before -- the more specific of a song that you're trying to create, the more challenging it becomes to accomplish it as a one-shot generation through the use of complex prompting.

I'm an avid proponent of using extensions & "get whole song" iteratively to "lock in" earlier sections of the song as a foundation -- sometimes using as little as a few seconds from an extension to further build your ideal song by piecemeal. This way can be more challenging and time consuming, but feels less like "a slot machine" to me.

Because v3 starts to hallucinate if you stretch the token limit beyond that -- v3.5 has a limit of 3000 characters, but again, hallucinations become more prevalent as you approach that limit.

My advice is to use whichever model sounds better, use as many lyrics as you can reasonably fit, then put the rest of them in an extension 💪 -- yeah, it's satisfying to have everything accomplished in a one-shot generation, but if I really care about how the song turns out, I'm jusy happy that I got it the way I wanted, whether I had to "roll the dice" 10 times or create 10 different extensions 🙂

Huh. It was actually a bug. It was set to v3.5 and it still showed me 1250 characters. After switching between V3 and v3.5 a few times, it now shows 3000 characters again. Now everything is back to normal. And I was worried that the number of characters had been reduced. In my opinion, the character limit for the styles could be increased a bit so that I can describe the songs even better with the mood and instruments. I always describe the songs very specifically in the lyrics and that almost always gives me the desired result. 😄

If I had just one request I could make, it would be for access to 'seeds'. I'd really like seeds for music and alternate seeds for vocals, allowing me to reroll voices while keeping the music or vice-versa.

It's a pipe dream but it's so important imo. It's a big thing missing from current musicgen tech.

I can't express how many times I've lucked into an amazing vocal style like a chainsmoking german singer or something else but I can't use it except that one song and the lyrics weren't quite perfect but I can't retry them

Like, when I gen an image with stable diffusion, I can keep the seed and alter a few keywords to slightly tweak the output - THAT is what musicgen tech needs at present

Covers almost do this but they're also so hard-coded on the covering song's style and lyrics that they become too hard to change heavily

that is not true, there are plentiful languages that do work and they do so really well even occasionally there are issues, German for example, as this is my primary language, has an issues with the first line to pronounce properly (it feels like it needs to scale itself to function) and some individual words which are not quite as pronounced as they are written .. but look for examples at the trending lists, you get everything from different asian languages to all the european languages @tribal remnant and the output i would imagine is a combination of lyrics + style prompts + tags + randomizer + plentiful of stereotypes in music but the latter part is my speculation only

In the lyrics every language is supposed to work, for sure. I was referring specifically to foreign languages in the style prompt. For example if you prompt "rap" in Korean, it will work. But it doesn't across all languages and genres that do work reliably in English.

It's complicated by the fact that songs tend to come out as the correct style even without a style prompt. Just from the lyrics looking like a song in a particular style. (try it). So sometimes it looks like a tag works, but it's actually from the lyrics. Just means if you want to really test something in a sciency way you gotta test it against different lyrics. Or blank lyrics, that's probably faster.
