I find hooks the hardest to write too. I usually write my verses and then struggle to find a hook for it. My most successful ones start with the hook first and then build around it. Those are the hardest songs to write though, because usually my songs start from a line or quatrain that I like and then I try to build out from there. Things end up not being very cohesive that way tho.

I uploaded a custom audio file that establishes two completely different vocal styles: a clean female voice and a brutal male death growl.
My question is: how do I structure the lyrics/tags to control exactly who sings which line?
​For example, I want it to do this:

[Male Growl] Line 2...
[Both] Line 3...
​Do these specific bracket tags work reliably line-by-line when extending from an audio file, or is there a better trick/syntax to force the AI to switch between the two voices exactly when I want it to? Thanks in advance!

Tagging each line is the best way to make it happen but be aware that Suno still isn't good at doing this kind of thing and it'll ignore what you put sometimes. Most times. Getting a good gen will be hard. That said, I have accomplished it a few times.

I tested the same prompts on V5 and V5.5, and while V5.5 clearly has better raw audio quality, the creative variation feels significantly worse.

With V5, the generations tend to have much more diversity in structure, vocal style, arrangement, and overall identity. Different outputs from the same prompt often feel genuinely distinct from each other.

With V5.5, almost everything sounds too similar. The productions are cleaner and more polished, but the generations feel homogenized — like the model converges toward the same musical patterns, structures, and vocal characteristics every time. Even when generating multiple versions from the exact same prompt, the variation between outputs is minimal compared to V5.

So in my opinion:

• V5 = more creative diversity, more experimentation, more unique vocal and structural variation.
• V5.5 = higher technical quality, but much less diversity and personality between generations.

Right now, V5 feels far more interesting creatively, while V5.5 feels optimized toward consistency at the expense of variation. 😮‍💨

But I don’t think this is a prompt issue. The point is that when I use this exact same prompt on V5, the outputs vary way more than on V5.5.
