yeah I've tried to explain that some parts of my music are made with AI, but it's hard to get around the preconception of the one-click generated music. If it can be one-click generated, then it's easy to assume it might have been. Maybe I used my own recorded vocals and my own percussion with only some synth stuff AI generated, or maybe I used entirely my own samples and sounds but added a few AI background elements for fullness, that might be 10-30% of a song generated by AI. But in the minds of a lot of conventional musicians, that's enough to put the song in the same basket as one-click generated fully complete songs and I've hit walls trying to get people to understand the difference. Got me banned from a music production discord server.

I get what you are saying. Most of my songs have a tin of generations before I like a version. But no way to prove that. And if you want to prove that, then it seems to be hard to do...or even impossible.
Personally I don't mind not being able to prove whatbis generated and what is not. It does feel that AI generated lyrics are still mediocre at best, so that might be easy to see for others.

lol yeah AI generated lyrics aren't fantastic, it takes a lot of prodding to get something decent. I usually use Claude for lyrics and I have a prompt document with like 300 lines to describe how I want lyrics structured, but even that isn't foolproof. Still takes a lot of editing by hand, mostly just use AI lyrics for a foundation or for ideas.

one thing I like to do is tell Claude to "formulate 10 potential song concepts based on X thing" for brainstorming

For the static-like sound that seems to exist I have done the following with moderate, but not major, success:

-> Stem it out in Studio
-> Listen to each stem
-> For the track I am referencing, it was present on the vocals, backup vocals, VFX, and drums
-> In every scenario besides the drums, I was able to hear it when that stem was otherwise supposed to be silent, so I just kept splitting and removing the silences between things and then went in and started trying to mess with the equilizer
-> The drums I could equalize to a certain extent, but at the end of the day the hiss/static/cymbal sound is still there, and there weren't enough "silent" moments to try my above trick

that is fantastic advice, but one big prolem I come up against with stemming in Studio is that if the section to be replaced is longer than about 10 seconds or so, it gives me the entire song inside of the replacement. So I have to stem the replacement stem and then import that new stem back into Studio, which is an extra annoying step so I try to keep my selection length short enough to prevent the entire song from being regenerated.

so if I have a lot of static and it's affecting most or all of a song, I tend to just trash a song as opposed to trying to save something just because I like the structure or the melody or whatever

oh sorry to keep going on about this but just one last thing, something I forgot to mention was gating. You can use a gate to control the trigger loudness of a stem if you use a DAW. A gate can creatively or precisely remove a lot of unwanted noise. I use Ozone 11, it's a mastering suite of tools that includes a gate and a bunch of other useful stuff.
