I have been having issues regarding the download of mods. I keep on getting an error message that tells me i cant download certain mods. I then empty out my mod folder but it still gives me the same error message. I have already uninstalled arma reforger and even looked up videos on how to resolve the issue but it keep on reoccurring. If anyone knows of a permanent fix I would love a DM because it is honestly really ruining the gaming experience.

Send a video clip or images, of the hacker to Bohemia support with the exact server name. Its not guaranteed too get the cheater banned but you can try.

After encountering a hacker on official servers, I moved to modded servers that have active admins.

When the new commander mode came out I remember i found a bug if you are using build menu when enemies are in area normally it fogs out so can't see them but if backed out and go back into the build menu it would clear it so you could just see all the enemies even look inside rooms

If I am not mistaken, WCS_LoadoutEditor is designed for Conflict. Where you have an Arsenal for weapons and an Arsenal for gear. If you place the single combined arsenal, it doesn't work as intended (from my experience). A simple solution is to place both boxes down (weapons and gear) and it should be good to go.

Controls are relatively easy to get the hang of but rn the performance issues make modded living hell and vanilla isn’t too much better

Controls are pretty good with a controller (I play on PC but I use a series X controller for flying stuff) certainly better than arma3 is with a controller, mods can be great or bad it depends on the mod author and who/how the server was set up, in vanilla it's one of the more "realistic" milsims available for consoles but mods can make that more realistic (ACE) or much much less (that's kinda the beauty of mods), it's a fun game, it's a lot more limited in some ways than arma3 (no jets, tanks are modded and kinda jank) but it was never intended to be arma3, that's what arma4 is for 🙂

I've been saying for a while, PC gaming had died after they stopped selling physical media. Game quality and sizes are regulated to whatever a console can run-which is ALWAYS a generation behind PC systems.
Consoles have their place, but it's not "bleeding edge" hardware.

Yeah, a lot of the attackers that we've seen usually don't even have the game, especially the ones that attempt to ransom communities, they just go through sites like BattleMetrics to pick out easy targets with decent population (or find servers that streamers are playing on)

It's not their place to solve DDoS attacks at all, it's up to the server providers that communities are using to host the servers.
If the game was a live service like recent Battlefield titles for example then that's fair enough, but it's not, servers are ran on community-provided hardware (either owned/self-hosted/colocated or rented from server providers) that Bohemia cannot control or have influence over.

If youre trying to join a server you've never joined before and it says you cant join in because youre banned youll still have to talk to that server's owners

depends, the higher the ping the worse hitreg will be, i stopped playing old guys because at long range or with a sniper its near impossible to consistently hit your shots, so as long as you dont use a dmr or sniper youre good to up to 200 i'd say

Hey everyone, is this the right place to get some suggestions?

I'm looking for some PVE/small Coop missions for our server.
My small group of 3-6 friends and me have been playing PVE missions once or twice a week for the last 2 years.
We played a ton of Gramps and RebornSaga Conflict PVE missions on Everon, Arland, Gogland, Zarichne, Ruha, Novka, Worthy Island, Kunar, and then some.
Personally i loved Zimnitrita Combat Missions, but couldn't find a well thought out game mode since.

We dabbled in Escapists, played some CoE2, finished Just in time twice, and lastly played a campaign of Freedom Fighters on Kolguyev.

While most missions featured only vanilla assets, we also tried some RHS and Arma-ry missions, but quality with these are mostly all over the place.

I just tested a promising new scenario on Anizay, The Forge, which featured a ton of stuff, but it seems loadouts were broken and i hated the "ultra-realistic" sound. Needs more time.
Vietnam Hell Edition seemed hard and kind of confusing, but there definitely is something, will check later.

Also Arsenals are so wide open in Reforger, and are rather annoying to code to be restricted (each individual item's JSON data to restrict), that it requires a ton more micromanagement

I've got 5500 hours in A3, ~1500 is in Eden programming, maybe 200 is PvP, the rest is all PvE, Reforger it's even more skewed, 500 ish hours, 490ish PvE, I very much dislike PvP but that's what is neat about a sandbox, it accomodates those who do and those who don't like one or the other

Yeah A3 definitely lends itself more to PvE, Reforger can do it but it's a much more pvp-centric game broadly speaking

Those who prefer not to deal with all negativity, toxicity and disarray that inherently exists in PvP. Sure you might find a session where one person or group doesn't completely ruin it, but I can find the exact type of play I want with my own dedicated running s custom scenario that literally takes me and 2 to 6 of my friends a week or more to complete with no toxicity, no disarray and no negativity. Its a win win.

As US, can steal civilian vehicles then throw shirt, vest into trunk, then drive right up to Soviet arsenal. Little tap on the horn as you roll up, and you can hop out and clap them all 75% of the time. No stolen uniform needed

Yeah that exploit is pretty common on Reforger servers it’s basically a gap in how civilian vehicles and arsenal zones are handled

I’ve fixed similar issues before by tightening the interaction checks and adding restrictions around vehicle access near enemy arsenals, so players can’t abuse it like that

Official (and a lot of public community) servers are like that. If you want actual serious gameplay your best bet is to find and join and clan or milsim which plays more seriously. 90% of my experience jumping into random servers has been slapstick chaos, but milsim events and such are much better organized

The biggest problem with persistent games, that are not a small community PVE, is that what do you think happens to that data? It has to be stored for all the players that joined and that adds up quick.
Idk about you but unless you paid me, I would only save ranks for maybe 1 day and then purge the data to make room for all the new players. Or be forced to constantly buy more hard drives and expand my storage center.(not free)

We already have to pay just to make our servers exist, we can't afford to spend more of our own personal money on storage for persistence IMO

I get that people that haven't paid for or seen the requirements of hosting wouldn't think of it either. And its not a huge amount, but it will certainly vary based on each user and what data would have to be saved to make that persistence work for ranks. The issue really just comes with deciding how long should it be saved. The longer you choose to save it the more storage you need if different people keep joining

This applies to any persistent games as well, like if the map and scenario don't reset with the server and load from a save game

Yeah that's fair. I play on W.C.S. every night. As much as I love the way their servers play out, If I could have a dream server it would basically be that but with persistent progression (up to a point, e.g. even if you reach Colonel, the highest rank you can start a new game at is Leiutenant) for example

I personally have felt like that only makes sense if the game doesn't end, once its a new match it only makes sense to reset everyone's rank. In this game rank works like a proof of effort. The more you do for the game and the team, the more you are rewarded. If its a new match and you just get to start with an advantage just cause you played the last one, doesn't make sense to me in the way of fairness. Why dont we just get rid of ranks and have everyone have everything right away? Similar reason, balance, fairness, a requirement to actually help the team

Depends on which point in the game. If it is a new map, conflict, you have a command tent. You have to go to the board in the command tent, select, place and then build an arsenal.

First I would make sure you know what the difference between server and client FPS. Are you seeing low SERVER FPS or do you mean low FPS inside the GAME which is completely different?

It might be a good idea to remove all mods except the map and zombies, and see if server fps is any better. If not, then you have it narrowed down to either zombies or map. This simplifies things a lot.

I've spent a lot of time optimizing some scripts down to microseconds, but if I missed something then I want to know, because my objective is more zombies 100% of the time.

That being said, ragdoll physics also impact server fps because server also simulates physics. I think a major performance boost could be achieved by disabling ragdolls or making them collide with terrain only instead of other ragdolls, though it would make it look shittier 😭

You can shut server down and resume when everyone wants to go again, or leave it running so each can join when they have time. Takes us a week or more playing on and off throughout the week. The game autosaves every 10 mintues, so if we finish playing, I check the save folder for the timestamp and if it saved within a minute of us being done, I just shut the server down, otherwise I will let it run until a new save folder is created then shut it down.

You cant run a realism server unmodded. You need sound mods, atmosphere mods, medical enhancements etc.

Also, I experience no lag on my server. Lag is largely dependent on what mods are used, like for example I used to use Realism overhaul Effects. I loved it because when you'd shoot on the ground dust would kick up, but it caused lag so I switched to betterhitseffects LITE. Not the og one because that also lags a bit.

Give it a few weeks on cold war, working on some gear for it before I go live.

This is something to ask those in Publishing about, but obviously it would be nice to have more space and faster download speeds. If there is a chance of an increase in the future, we will notify our community if anything is possible. I'm unsure if the download speeds are tied to our own hosted Workshop vs. Microsoft's internal ones for their own published content - that would just be speculation. The speeds are tied more directly to the console's internal SSD longevity, as consistent fast read/write of mods installing and uninstalling would put more wear on it (even if that seems neglible). Most people expect an SSD for a console to last the lifetime of that console.

The limits are the same for PlayStation 5 as well. What is interesting is Fallout 4 had a massive increase to 100 GB of storage space, but again, that is a Microsoft published title.

I'm not sure how it being a MS title makes it eligible for more storage space, giving their own games special benefits would be extremely unfair to everyone else. Then again, it is Microsoft.

One thing you didn't factor in is that when your mod limit is lower, you redownload mods more often, so those games I've listed would be responsible for more SSD usage than Reforger with a higher limit.

Though Reforger mods are larger and there is multiplayer so it probably evens out.

Still I am surprised why Reforger has to have low download speeds but other games don't. I've tried playing Reforger on console but it was impossible since not only the mods took 500 years to download, they also often failed to download.

When its my turn to join the server I get replication error 12 and get kicked out of the queue. When I rejoin the server Im 23th again... Love this game but these issues makes me not want to play it. Ive tried deleting the addon folder and everything else.

Sure, do you know if your ISP does carrier grade NAT/if you are double NAT'd? If so, you can't host over the public internet. You can verify yourself by checking what the public IP address is on your modem/router/whatever your gateway is, and comparing it to what your public IP address is according to the internet (they should match).

If they don't match, you can use a VPN/one of those virtual LAN solutions to work around it.

Star Wars is Disney IP now and they're super strict about 3rd party usage so anything Star Wars branded can't be hosted on the workshop, and Star Wars clans/etc can't be advertised in this server. I dont know if there are any on Reforger but they definitely won't be found here

Have you determined if your ISP is CGNat? Probably the first thing you need to find out because you can set up a server that would normally work, but won't if your ISP is CGNat.

That will install the dedicated server and it is easier and more convenient in setting up and maintaining the server.

But still.. back to my first comment. If your ISP is CGNAT, it won't matter so a phone call to them can save you some time.

You can check yourself, but this is not definitive. Log into your router and note the WAN IP address. Then open a web browser and go here https://whatismyipaddress.com/ and note you public IP. If it is different than your WAN IP, you are probably CGNAT. If the addresses are the same, you are not.

You need to port forward ( I do only 2001 UDP). Also determine if there is another piece of equipment (another router) on your network that might be DHCP. If there is, you may be Double NAT and will have to port forward twice.

My simplist explanation is the different coloured objectives are primary ones, you need signal to daisy-chain from the main operating base.
If you do not know what to do see which base has the least supplies, the mob is the only one that regenerates supplies, as are the supply depots, the circles with three squares stacked together

Bohemia really really needs to allow permanently banning someone from arma reforger games on official. This is disgusting. We had several people joining back a very short time when getting kicked. It was a group of trolls, and they caused us to lose.

I've been absolutely loving the ARMACONFLICT Vietnam '67 servers. However, since sometime yesterday every single time, without fail, it won't let me join. I'll wait in a 50 player queue (US-1) for more than half an hour, finally get down to 3rd in line, and then it kicks me out with the error that the server is full. What the hell???

Also, even when I join the server (in this case US-2) if it has way less than 128 players, it'll load, and then give me internal error 8 and just kick me out. In one case, the player count was a whopping 4, and yet it still decided not to let me in.

If this is an error a lot of people are getting, please let me know, because this is seriously frustrating and makes me just not want to play, if it means that even after waiting more than 30 minutes it decides to say screw you in specific and not let me play the game.

also, if theres a fix, please let me know. I've uninstalled and reinstalled all mods through the arma mod manager twice now, and restarted my computer several times. I have not completely reinstalled arma yet, but I may try. If it helps, I play on an Acer Nitro V 16 laptop with a 5050, and i've had no issues before now.

Initially it only applied to vehicles, all equipment was accessible immediately. However lots of players would join a match and build an arsenal before anything else, spend 30 minutes playing barbie, and create a (no exaggeration) 200-300 supply cost loadout. They would then proceed to die over and over without achieving anything and drain every last supply from their own teams bases. The rank restrictions on equipment is the single greatest change BI ever made in Reforger

I can think of multiple people i have killed and found to be carrying a machinegun, a sniper rifle, and an M16+M203, with 10+ bandages, 10+ morphine, 25 grenades, and 1200+ rounds for each gun
