@true isle thank you for taking the time to try and report this too, I have been doing the same but there really is no reaction from any officials in there.

For a week now, on all of the official servers there is a hacker that can spawn anywhere, fly through air at insane speed, see through walls and one shot everyone. I have not seen a single admin turn up.

He has only been playing the russian side, and even though multiple gamers have reported him within each game, nothing happens. The game ends after this hacker has killed everyone on the other faction and capped all points.

Would be great if there was a community announcement that someone is working on this.

If you are short on admins, I like MonstaTrucka is more than willing to step up and help.

They Likely either Have a seperate PC And do the Arma Reforger Server Application via steam OR They just buy a 3rd party server from one of the hosting companies. But if its just you and some friends for a Night Then the Hosting The scenario via the Reforger main menu works fine.

Do away with the supportedPlatforms and only use "crossPlatform": true. Server will drop support for PSN if mods are used. If they are not used in the json, then all three platforms will be able to play.

That gets better with time, right now most of the players especially on vanilla are completely new to mil-sim. but if you look at a more developed mil sim like squad, the comms and teamwork are crazy, because its just had so much time to mature.

There are some modded servers where this isn't the case but rarely. and check out #multiplayer_events you might find a more co-ordinated experience with serious players

Reforger has hundreds of public servers with people in them doing popular PvP(vE) game modes at any given point. It is pretty easy to get to playing with others.

Well some ppl say the game is boring because they have to travel back to the fight every time they die, but these same ppl also refuse to carry and drop a manpack radio near a supply stash because they** just have to carry a backpack full of stuff they never get to use**, so.. yeah. I see dry bases because the spawn cost of these dudes is high, they spawn a vehicle every time they die (sometimes a 475 supply hummer that gets dumped somewhere) and they also fight very badly.

How teamwork-focused is the multiplayer aspect of this game? Is it more like squad where it's actually crucial, and random people communicate both via voice and radio, or HLL where people for the most part just run to the frontlines without much communication, despite the fact that the game positions itself as team-focused? Community Server Conflict is very teamwork oriented. The more cooperative team wins. Vanilla Conflict tends to be a crapshoot on communication lol

I'd say it is significantly less communicative/teamwork-y and less organized than Squad, typically, but there can still be a lot of teamwork.

Reforger doesn't typically force or incentivize sticking together in the same way as Squad, but you can make up for that, and many players are open to teamwork.

Signifcantly less than squad, but not dead silent like hell let loose either.
People barely communicate with their own squad, rather they just sit in spawn and group up with whoever is at the spawn at the same time in proximity chat.
It does have alot more depth compared to squad, I think it'll become like squad with time, the playerbase is just mostly console gamers and people trying out their first mil sim at the moment. but as it matures it'll get there

and there's little to no cross squad communication in every server. there's just one team VC that anyone can spout their bs into. and no commandor role, not that anyone in the current community would listen to them

Reforger is not using the Steam Workshop, but instead one from BI themselves.

And there is a "queue", as it only downloads one mod at a time.

No worries this game has a steep learning curve and deviates a lot from normal shooters. There aren't "classes" but you can save loadouts. You generally need to find an Arsenal box on the map, usually at your base or a captured objective. In there, you can customize your loadout by selecting a sniper rifle and then attaching a compatible scope. To attach scopes inspect your weapon then drag and drop

Also snipers and scopes have high xp requirements so make sure you are the right level if its greyed out.

For many games, including Reforger, "faster" is not the best. Latency, variability, reliability all matter more after a certain point, and WiFi is worse for those. It could be that your connection is the culprit.

Anybody experiencing gpu hang crashes, there are guides to help you solve it, but the one change that finally stopped the crashes was rolling back to 555.85 GPU driver for Nvidia. There were other changes made prior so can't rule out they made contribution as well.

I first used ddu driver cleaner utility before installing. There are guides. If you need help I can find the guide I used.

If you like me had problems downloading any new mods after the recent update, I've found the soulution after tryuing some things that didn't work

So if you want to save time, you probably had the same error as I had in the logs, it couldn't write to the mods folder because it doesn't know where it is.

Honestly idc , as long as the gameplay is good. I prefer to be dressed as a regular modern soldier , but not have freezes , crashes ( yes on xbox ) and fps drops. What the point of being dressed as a delta force tier1 rambo operator , if facing the inly enemy you see in this respawn , you freeze for 5/10sec in the fight. That was write errors, since it took other measures before finding the tip, I even uninstalled the program and completely removed it, therefore I don't have exact what it said.

Only that after uninstalling the game, reinstalling it again there wasn't any reforger folder under the my games folder.

So going to steam on reforger changing startalternatives and pointing out my new location it worked immediately. in my case I hade backed up the old mod folder to D:\Mods therefor : -addonDownloadDir D:\Mods -addonsdir D:\Mods

Reinstalling the game used to not remove mod files. In the event they are corrupt you might want to delete the addons folder manually.

Okay I changed my dns to google. And I also added the game to exclusions. I went to control panel >system security > windows firewall> allow app through windows defender then click change setting then locate arma reforger game and arma reforger, checked both boxed public and private.

It worked I can downloads mods again

• Uninstall/delete mods from within the game (mod manager) and try again.
• Delete the mods causing issues from C:\Username\My Games\Arma Reforger\Addons\ and try again
• Check windows defender to see if is is blocking AR (Protection History), if so add exception. Maybe just add exception anyway.
• Temp disable or add exception to other AV software.
• Change DNS to Google's DNS as a test and see if you can download.
• Disable OneDrive or ensure AR folder structure is not being backed up.
• Set AR download and mod directory to a different location in startup parameters (ArmaReforgerSteam.exe -addonDownloadDir D:\DownloadedMods)
• Reinstall AR

Also, for most Windows 11 users, you may need to manually delete all your mods, the ni-game mod manager tends to crash the game to desktop. I recommend closing out of Steam completely (kill any Steam-related processes in Task Manager) before trying to delete anything.

Most of us on Windows 11 have had to manually delete thousands of mod files, force-kill Steam processes, and still end up with broken downloads. The in-game mod manager crashes the game, paths are outdated, and nothing works like it should.
And now with 1.4, even local servers are acting up. We shouldn’t have to be techs, sysadmins, and bug chasers just to connect or download mods. This isn’t a "you need to troubleshoot more" issue, this is just Bohemia doing what Bohemia does.

I am trying to play Arma Reforger for the first time and am having issues finding a server. I have found nothing online that helps my situation, and I was hoping that someone here might know something.

Context: Playing Arma Reforger on WIndows 11 running AMD hardware over Wi-Fi using Steam
The Issue: When I go to "Multiplayer" > "All", I only see 5 servers listed.

What I've Tried

• I have verified that I do not have filters applied multiple times.
• I have tried restarting my game.
• I have tried restarting my machine.
• When I go into settings and disable crossplay, the server list goes down to 2 servers. Re-enabling crossplay restores the "full" list of 5 servers.
• I found a suggestion to delete the "battleye" folder from my game install and verify files in Steam to reinstall it. This does not work.
• I have tried using my phone's mobile hotspot to verify it was not an issue with my router. That also did not work.
• I had a friend find a crossplay server and send me the IP and port number so I can try a direct join. That did not work. It simply said it couldn't find a server.

Does anyone know what is going on or have suggestions of what I should try to resolve the issue?

If it says 'gpu hangs' roll back your drivers to 555.85. I did this and don't crash any longer. It seems that it is Nvidia that messed up and not Bohemia on this one.

Also to state the obvious, mods are often less stable than vanilla. Can't necessarily put that on BI either.

Yeah the servers seem to be flooded with toxic degens. I think the only way you're going to get some decent gameplay is on servers with active admins.

Sometimes the official servers are good, it's just hit or miss depending on who you get.

Mine is setup for RHS Status Quo (new version) Combat Ops. Set to restart at 0000,0600,1200,1800 hrs MST since the RHS Combat Ops scenario doesn't have a working exfil to change the status to POSTGAME to end the match. And instead of just three tasks, I have it set to 7 which is the max for Arland. Set it up for folks to play around with, and get used to, the RHS equipment in a PvE environment instead of a PvP one. Search for "Wyoming" . Set to 4 players max due to bandwidth restrictions.

Depending on where you are physically located will determine your ping to the servers. For example, my self-hosted server here in Wyoming uses a ping site of Las Angles CA. So whatever ping it is from Wyoming to California will determine what the latency in the server browser says. Not a true ping from my console to the server itself, because when I join it, it is 0ms-1ms in game.

75th Rangers and 82nd Airborne do a good job because they’re clans. They also try to stay fairly accurate to their respective U.S. Army units. It’s a good balance between serious and fun. Search for 82nd and 75th in the server browser.

They’re at their best when members are on but if you’re in the U.S. or play on U.S. hours it’s usually easy to find great sessions for both.

My group chose to artifically limit ourselves to make a medic role worthwhile. Only medics can carry Morphine/Saline, everyone else just gets TQ/Bandages

What are your favorite PVE servers that use modern U.S. Army kit? I like the 82nd Airborne and 75th Rangers servers but I’m looking for more options.

There are often version clashes that freeze up the download process because different servers run different versions of the mod. Pretty annoying. Usually the game updates eventually. There’s a tab for mod updates when that’s happening.

When it’s a small mod with a version mishmash it usually updates quick but Status Quo has those huge content packs that make it slow to update. You’ll usually notice it’s either running 0.11.something or 0.12.something and the server you’re trying to join will want to download whichever version you don’t have. Super annoying.

I'm assuming you're talking about the green supply icons on the map? I don't think you can increase a supply point's capacity in vanilla, but there are multiple spots you can collect supplies from, some with 2000 supplies which should be more than enough
Look for crates or shipping containers with a supply sign in front for supply spots.

I and part of a server that runs 24/7 and a common problem is the version control from the client's perspective, being forced to download the last available version instead of the one indicated by the server.

I always wondered if such a system will be changed in the future, allowing better control of the servers as an owner instead of having to update all mods all the time and watch our projects break.

I know the alternative is to create your own modpack, but it enters grey territory where I'd rather not steal from other mods.

Hey guys how to fix the infinite mod downloading issue? I have few mods (one of which is RHS) that are stuck on 99% downloading.

I read posts about this and tried fixing it but nothing worked.

I tried going into documents folder and deleting just non downloading mods, than installing both ways from a mod page inside reforger (workshop) and as a part of a needed pack in multiplayer

Well I actually found a solution yesterday.

Delete the addons folder itself (idk how to do it on console but there must be a way) then run game files check, and then download from Multiplayer in Arma

But today something is cooked, it says my ping is 999+ once per 2-3 refreshes and I can't connect to any server, any tips on how to fix this mess? I can see that WAN icon on-top and it goes Blue -> Red and ping "999 ms" then after the next refresh (within like 15 seconds) I'm down to <20 ms again.
I'm guessing backend issues? :/
And the servers in question have been W.C.S servers (mostly EU6/PC).

I started a ping towards the public ips I can see that Arma client is connecting to.
This seems to cause a stable connection (or someone did something backend).
I can now queue for over 3 minutes without being disconnected! 🎉

First time I encountered blatantly obvious hackers in a vanilla official server today. On 6025 (forget the other numbers before the last four) Arland, conflict, 48 players.

6-8 of us all were with zero doubt it was hackers.

Sad to see. I really enjoy that game mode. Without moderators or a kill feed it's not really possible to document proof or even figure out which players to report, so we just gave up on that server.

The solution is of course community servers. Sadly I don't see community servers running vanilla Arland conflict really.

Hopefully it's a rare occurrence, however with a fairly small amount of servers and player base, it wouldn't take many to seriously negatively impact the servers and even kill off the population of them.

Gotta clearly communicate what's going on to other players so they know why to vote . They'll return. Gotta vote them again. It can be difficult if they just leave before the vote completes and return.

Looks like it's "api-ar-game.bistudio.com" that misses 3 heartbeats when you are in queue and you get "The response form the server took too long. Check your network connection and try again". When you finally join a server it's fine looks like it just affects the queue. Who/where to contact to get someone to look in to the backend servers behind "api-ar-game.bistudio.com" connecting from swe.

It's roundrobin-dns loadbalanced on 2 cloudflare servers which probably are located in Stockholm (6ms latency), but i have the same problem on both of them so it's probably something inside cloudflare or at bohemia that is causing the issue. But as soon as i get past the queue I can play as long as the servers is up without disconnects or packetloss.

Hi everyone, I could really use some help.

I bought Arma Reforger on my main Steam account and I’m having a strange issue.

I fully uninstalled the game, cleared all old config files, emptied Steam’s download cache, changed my download region to France, and reinstalled the game completely.

But after reinstalling, the game is still stuck on version 1.3.0.170, while the latest version is 1.4.0.31.
Because of this, I can’t join most multiplayer servers — I always get a "wrong version" error.

I’ve checked that I’m not on any beta branch and that everything should be up to date, but Steam keeps giving me this old version.

Has anyone had this problem before?
Any ideas on how to fix it?

It just has a red X on the server I was playing on. I have very low ping and good connection. Already ran connection tests etc and everything checks out so idk.

Reforger lacks all variety in gamemode, the only two that people really play are Conflict and Game Master
Other gamemodes exist but good luck finding any servers running them, or communities that arent toxic af

Reforger is a relatively poor game compared to A3, and its community is 65% Playstation players who've never touched a milsim in their life
They just wanna turn Arma into Battlefield, and therefore most modders cater to those desires
Noone cares for PvE content anymore, especially since theres no EDEN Editor, the AI are incredibly shitty, and there arent enough mechanics to give it the necessary Depth

This game is nothing like Arma 3 - its more like Squad, or Insurgency Sandstorm, or Battlefield. Trying to find good PvE content is incredibly difficult, especially when its all either "Fight 500 AI every objective cause they arent smart enough to fight back properly in low numbers" or "Wipe the floor with a squad of enemies, do it again, then again, then get bored of winning too much"

I think we've been able to do a pretty great job bring our Insurgency game mode into Reforger. We've been able to already do far more than we could back in the A2 days.

Locking it only to yalls servers, and not having an open source discord to track development, offer suggestions, and grow a community, are huge turnoffs

Two 72 person servers arent enough for growth, especially when one of them is half full or empty most times
Giving it out to the community and transitioning to a Dev group rather than a semi private community would help the game a bunch, because it shows huge potential

That is for now, but we are working on setting up some separate things for the dev team from the rest. Our current Discord wasn't exactly intended for it. We already had a lot of issues of everyone wanting us to just add asset after asset of other mods though.

We're already fighting an issue where someone else has disingenuously been claiming they created Insurgency for Arma Reforger, when all it is a middle east modded conflict, but the whole Conflict thing and everyone thinking that is Arma is a whole another issue itself.

We've already seen and been approach by people who also quickly want to morph the game mode into something it is not supposed to be, and that is part of why it is not public at this time as well while we're getting things together that will be part of what had been the original dream in A2 and keeps the spirit of what was done and wanted to be done 15 years ago.

Its like Insurgency, but primarily PvE, and without the toxic PvP elements
its an Arma 3 gamemode and one of my two Standards for public/semi public play

using standard DNS configuration? using WIFI or Ethernet? other household members using download or upload bandwidth on the network during game time? connecting to a server out of region? using a VPN? wifi/ethernet adapters up to date? (try hotspotting your phone to determine whether or not it is your network or something software/adapter related)

hitching in vehicles periodically is what I experience in modded servers. if it is super frustrating and hindering your gameplay i would document your experience and then submit it here: https://feedback.bistudio.com/project/view/66/ if you feel like a low upload speed might be the issue i would look into general network optimization and information about the relationship between your network adapter, your router, and your modem. however, that is outside the scope of this channel.
