Manually find the mods but if that is what you are doing then make sure you are joininjg a mid-high(not full) population without a server que

I found the same with my server. I didn't normally specify my external IP in the settings and just had it bind to anything that came in on the correct port but when I specified the IP my ping went back down to where it was pre all this mess.

So far what I'm finding is if you enter a server que something doesnt tick in the system and it fails to connect. predownload any mods you need for the specific server type and don't enter any servers with 128/128+. Joining a server that bypasses a que seems to work for me 100% of the time without fail 2 days now.

I know there are other problems with servers going on atm, but for the sake of troubleshooting, let's assume servers worked correctly; My friend cannot connect to a server made by me and other way around as well. I do have automatic port forwarding on for the duration of the game (We could connect normally in arma3 with a server I made for example). However, we can connect to other servers properly even yesterday and play like that. But just couldn't connect to a server I made. Anyone ran in to this and how to fix? I don't have vpn on while hosting and have automatic port forwarding. We also tried direct connect by me entering my ip manually

PSA: entering a server que causes something to not tick in the system resulting in a failure to connect, to bypass this is simply join any server that has <64/64(128/128 on community) and joining should be a non issue. Also make sure you predownload any mods you require for the specific server you want to join and that may also be a factor but thats undetermined to be true or not but i like to be thorough. hope this helps

They're basically forcing us to sit in the loadout menu for longer now because saved loadouts will not work properly if there are items in your loadout that you don't have the correct rank for, but new players spawning in a full kit with RPG, grenades, 6x missiles, tons of ammo, runs in, dies, will not be such a problem

Hope this is helpful info on playing Reforger right now. You have more chance of getting onto a server if:

(1) You connect to a vanilla server with no queue
(2) You connect to a modded server with no queue if you already have the server mods installed (as long as those you have installed match the server's version

If you connect to a server with a queue or you have to download mods to join you will currently have only a small chance of being successful (you might get lucky I guess). In either of the above cases you may have to retry a few times anyway.

Note: If you can't see the server list, just keep retrying on that one because you obviously need that available or you are dead in the water. It is intermittently unavailable right now, but retry, retry, retry!

Your results coincide directly with all my testing. Everything you have said is correct, predownload the mods required for the server you want and avoid server queues. you 'think', you haven't any information to support that the 'queues are just broken'. If the queues were the problem we'd have been effected by this problem before. The queues are very likely managed by the backend (alongside crossplay, mod version control, and other things). With the backend being ddosed, you cannot expect it to work

It seems like joining a server full server + queue is worse than attempting to join a server without a queue.

If something happens to the connection during connect in queue, you get dropped and goto the back of the line.

If something happens to the connection without a queue. It may fail a few times. But after manually reconnecting repeatedly, it probably will work.

I don't know why. But I'd guess it's because the queue requires a stable connection to the BI backend and while it's significantly better it's not good enough for a good queue experience.

If I ran a server. I'd consider disabling the queue amd ask players if the experience was better.

I had this problem too, I could create a server but friend could not join and vice versa. But both could connect to other public servers.
What I did was open the port 2001 specifically from my router settings and then it worked. I also disabled automatic port forwarding, so that isn't actually needed (= good thing)

Most people are friendly and willing to help you in game. No one will judge if you die or make a mistake in a game. tip nr.1 Dont kill friendlies (learn each teams clothes to not make the mistake, and also check for armbands if the server has them). The game has a steep but "easy" learning curve, it won't take long until you get the hang of it. The game is 100% more fun if you got a mic to interact with other players, most people talk. Like others say, play the tutorial, check out yt videos, and have fun! worth every penny when the game is up and running

Yeah they are going to be very persistent, and while we can only speculate on the number of sources the attack is coming from, it's assuredly a much better distributed attack and it's not so easy to filter packets when the sources and signatures are ever-changing. I'm not in cybersecurity, but the armchair IT specialists and impatient teens are not a good look for this community from the perspective of someone newly joining in. The attack sucks, the game sucks to play right now, I get it. The fact that I've still been having fun when I have managed to get online, and the fact that I've been able to create my own fun with game master when offline is enough for me to give the devs a little grace and appreciate what we've still got right now. Not for the attacks but they are responsible for decisions that have made the situation worse for server owners and players. For example, who thought it was a good idea that community server's queues should be maintained on their single point of failure back end? Why are they not hosted on the private server itself? Why does direct connect rely on being able to connect to the backend infrastructure for a server list that it doesn't need? Why do the servers crash if they cannot connect to the backend? Is Reforger actually an always online game?

so it sounds like DDOSes just prevent you from joining because either the server browser is down or they can't manage the queues. I think if the server browser could store your favorites so it didn't need to query the reforger servers and let servers manage their own queues then the DDOS wouldn't be as effective. But I assume there's a reason why queues have to be managed by the central server instead of the game server..

When I create a combat ops for me and my friend, before he joins I can issue commands (and that way create a squad for us). But after he joins, I cannot give orders anymore and since you can't group soldiers in the zeus, I can't do that anymore. Anyone know why the command wheel simply won't work anymore?

Also the longer you are alive the more veterean XP you earn aswell. I usually go to capture points early game, and be sure to accept the objective for the point you are taking, should rank up in no time

Dont go to mainbase for supply running. Every town has a hidden cache of 1k ish supplies, then some areas have huge caches. You get xp for delivering supplies

Depends on the servers I guess, I've played on servers that last for 1,5 hours and also played on servers that have lasted for 18 hours. you will get XP at the end either way. I've seen some yt videos abt XP, the fastest way and how it works. It's worth checking out those

They did, I was able to play yesterday, since Sunday, and to be honest it only disconnected me once and then I was playing back again, the thing is that I tried to connect to a server with a 20/20 queue and by trying it for almost 7 minutes I was in, the other days before it was impossible for me at least, I asked to the people playing at the server at that moment and they said that did the same as me
