They have to fix the ai in the night i get absolutely destroyed everytime without seeing a thing, it feels like if they have night vision goggles and all the crazy equipment, but they dont even use flashlights

I been playing Arma for over a week and I can say this game was definitely worth buying . I'm on console use to be on PC I played Arma 3 but didn't know what I was doing at the time cause it was a lot to take in but Console version made it a bit easier to get use to this Arma and I only have one gripe and it's lack of guns wheres the Bar the M1 carbine Thompson sub machine gun SKs i wish I knew how to mod cause I would definitely would try to get those in ASAP. Other than that I really like this game.
Sounds like a you problem. I own the ai at night. They can't seem to see me until I open fire, then I move again and they lose me.

think the game is great, but it lacks a bit of grit. fighting would be much cooler if you could actually hear your enemy react to being shot with a yelp
a general brutality overhaul would be great. injured troops being better telegraphed by being able to yell for help, blood pooling and splatters. i know mods for that exist but it just feels like it should be in vanilla
not over-the-top stuff like brutal doom, just enough to up immersion when you're running in a contested trench and see pools and splatters of blood and injured troops pleading for aid. stuff like that

It's just annoying to have to keep pressing R to Refresh in the hope that a slot becomes free on the server.

Radio respawns are fucked. The meta is every player makes their own Squad and carries their own radio backpack. When the 10 spawns are up you just make a new squad. The result is every player has unlimited respawns at the location of their choosing. What decides the result of a match is how many players on a team are aware of how to exploit this mechanic.

Yea, you just make a new Squad and abandon the old one. In the rare occasion Squads are full, just join another without a radio deployed.
hmmm is this only on official servers ? im pretty sure for example the Darkgru and Vietnam servers have this feature completely disabled, which I think works extremely well. i would think (if its not a feature already) for handheld radios to have a shorter range and the radio backpacks to have essentially full map range for squad lead to squad lead and command communications and to leave it at that. the community* servers definitely handle this system better though, and i'm sure bohemia is taking notes on things like this to update and tweak in the future

I think the floodlights should be taken out of the "composition" category and placed into the single object category to allow those to be built via construction trucks. There have been times i've wanted to set up ambushes with floodlights facing the enemys pushing direction to slightly blind them / create shadows for an effective ambush. I think that might be a good idea for a small tweak that could increase creativity in ambush / defense tactics since at the moment floodlights can only be placed within bases via the base construction system
lack of dynamic environment reflections on things like the civ car paint is big sad
you drive through an area and the reflection on the roof never changes until you move into a different area
workshop search could really use a touch-up, the filtering options aren't amazing and I feel it hurts discovery for newer mods. With steam workshop you could sort by most popular in a certain timeframe, so most popular in weeks, months, years or all time I think time frames like that could help you find the "trending" mods while also displaying the all-time most popular ones too
it'd be nice if the filters were a bit more granular with things, for example i've been trying to find co-op scenarios but the only way for me to search for them is to sort by scenarios (MP) which include larger scale 32/64 player scenarios that are both PvE, PvP etc

100%. I changed the antivirus way after the update, like a week ago. the issue was already present. Tried eu and na servers, vanilla, and moded, community, and official. The same issue on all.

I've spoken to some people that have told me that it was seemingly random for them, one day it worked another it didn't. Must have been super annoying.

So apparently you can attach scope to RPK and make it no recoil full auto sniper by deploying bipod while on the ground. I tried to do the same in game master and it didn't allow to put it on so there must be somekind of a bug that you can use because I killed one soviet with scoped RPK
If in game master you were trying to use the RPK-74 (instead of the RPK-74N), it doesn't have the rails for the scope.
The RPK-74N is definitely really good. I would not say it invalidates sniper rifles in the game. It is heavier than the M21, worse at range, less damage/penetration per shot, and a worse optic in most ways (obscures the top, no markings to use as a reference besides the aim point, fixed magnification that isn't as good up close or further away, less situational awareness with the eye cup). They cost the same in supplies, and other guns can still still be deployed, giving similarly really low recoil.
The SVD, AK-74N, and M16 (both variants) can have a magnified optic and retain the ability to use iron sights at close ranges (without removing the optic), while sometimes being cheaper and always being lighter. The belt fed guns all have more volume of fire and/or damage/penetration, and maybe even less recoil.
It is all trade-offs. Teams don't win because of slight advantages in certain equipment. Just the other day, someone was complaining that the Americans have an advantage because the M16+magnified optic is much cheaper than the USSR equivalents.

One thing I feel ought to change is to divide the low ready movement and gun up movement into 2 different speeds (similar to ARMA 3).
The 2 stances would lock the player into 2 different movement speed ranges (with the scroll wheel increasing or decreasing speed within that broad range).
This would make movement feel a little less goofy and more purposive, while also giving players more granular and consistent control over their movement speed.
Wait, what makes that different from the differences that already exist in movement speed and such?

I have seen cases where it said I was bleeding, I couldn't bandage myself or apply tourniquets, my teammates couldn't either, and I was definitely still losing blood. I ended up outlasting it (with some saline).
I'm consern about Scripting topics on BIS Reforger Forums vs Discord scripting Channels. In a post published in the forum, nobody is answer me over there so far (days). And most of topics over there are absolutely with no any answer, unlikely here on Discord where in 10 minutes someone tagged me with a possible solution for what I needed (but I have no clue if the question was been done previously by someone else with another potentially solution for my case). I'm trying to get help or even more information about scripting from the last year over BIS Reforger Forums and, for my surprise, the forums are barely full of scripting cases. My worries are around the Discord Scripting topics are "stealing" the knowledge to here where the messages are "temporary", meanwhile in forums has an organized way to research past solutions. I'm wondering if in a few years we will get so much less information to consulting than was the same period of time to Arma 3 forums built its scripting experience bases over there.

Exactly. This is the point. Even the small challenges I'm creating topics over Reforger Forums to archive the knowledge when I figure out a solution, but I guess this approach is an exception nowadays with the Discord channels available in parallel. Not against discord. But I'm wondering if this scenario today is aiming a solid documentation over the next years.
Make a Tutorial or FAQ doc. That's how we have been documenting terrain things over in the terrain makers channel. I made a tutorial and Til made an FAQ. FAQ would probably work better for scripting since it tends to be smaller "how do I do this" type of things rather than "here's how to do this long process that is going to take you 5 years to finish". Then once it has a good amount of stuff in it ask a mod to Pin it to #enfusion_scripting and maybe have a similar thing in the forum.
the RDB mismatch error needs to be more descriptive, since mods on Xbox get corrupt randomly on download, it should at least point to which RDB or whatever is inconsistent, idk
I fixed my problem with the Ctrl key, it seems that binding it to too many combinations causes it to malfunction.

The keybinding for the persistent handbrake actually breaks it's animation. Double hitting space bar will play the animation for releasing the handbrake even when you're putting it on, because the first space bar triggers normal handbrake, the second one enables the persistent. Rebinding to something like CTRL+Space makes the animation work flawlessly. 
why is there no queue system
Only for US. What interesting that US hospital has a supply container and I though maybe it's a feature after all. But then again, USSR doesn't have such bonus. It's too easy to def base now, because you need only 300sp to build hospital, then build living quarters and request bots

Another part of that: when there used to be fewer players, a queue system was much lower priority. I'm pretty sure they've acknowledged that the current system is a bit painful sometimes.

a) This is THE first line of contact and bug report.
b) This is THE quickest way to FIND that mod is abandoned / not working at the moment...
Congrats on making sure that people with bigger modpacks needs now to join about 10-20 discord servers to check mods comments in case of the error / crash / disconnects when approaching something and not always finding, because people don't want another software [especially from China] on their computer... - Where are the ERRORS of mission so that Scenario maker / Game Master can fix the In Range Disconnect... [Let's call it IRD].
a) People getting disconnected and server console empty? Is this a joke?
b) Game master unknowingly placing bugged / outdated asset from mod and getting game master mode LOCKED OUT of the game, due to IRD? - Launching mods with custom faction requires custom scenarios to play these factions? Really? Otherwise they are 'grey' as in unassigned to blue, red, or green?
a) unless it is MM mistake, not a oversight then...
b) But if it is an oversight, then imagine having to make a custom faction works for like 20 maps [20 custom scenarios, then having them uploaded to workshop, then launching reforger, going to workshop, finding it in recent uploads - really why the f..k there is no "MY MODS / SCENARIOS" tab????????, now imagine update from main mod and having to change each of them...
c) Really no right click - edit loadout, save loadout, publicize loadout [global - admin / custom - players] - Game master is being oversimplified, as to not being able to assign custom factions, or custom loadouts, forcing to use tools, while they are overcomplicated for a standard / new mission makers?
a) It takes time to learn, but Game Master should have a simple / advanced mode [advenced - able to to make more things like player kits, some scripted actions and other things...]

That's too. Positive comments and feedbacks about mods help mod makers in development and continuation of the mods. Plus hearing a positive reply is nice, better than a silent treatment now 😄

WW 2 modpack that I made for test had initially 24 mods
I miss sites like OFP.Info and Armaholic. Those places were great for showcasing mods and sifting through them.
Although I guess they're less relevant now that mods are so much more streamlined.
Feels like many mods don't get a look in unless they're used on a popular server.
I imagine part of it is if they added comments, they'd have to moderate those comments, and do so to the satisfaction of all the platforms they are targetting.

Please use steam workshop and make a diffrent workshop for console players cause i never had issues with mods for arma 3 or day z but when it comes to arma reforger i cant get mods cause i dont have the internal storage for it or make a setting in the game to switch where mod directory goes to and make it simple
There is a workaround for the mod placement folder - you need to link the place where the mods should be originally, to the place where you want the mods to be and move them. Using CMD in admin mode and command symlink. I did it with RHS and a couple of other mods that are commonly used in arma 3 to place them on SSD together with the main game, where the rest of the mods (around 200GB) stayed on the HDD.
If you don't do it on Reforger, you will need to actively maintain your mod manager to delete unused mods and then to redownload them if you were to join on mission / map that uses it...

Insane? Let's see. In Arma I have a modpack for:
3 JOs, 2 main clan modpacks, WW2 modpack, modern/cold war modpack, Warhammer modpack, star wars modpack, zombies & demons modpack, escape mode modpack (small), That's already 11... Each of them is different and requires different mods and compacts. Now the average size is between 10 to 30 mods...
Now if, or when the reforger modding community will be able to learn a new engine, they will reappear inside a new game (WW2 mods are slowly coming and are playable, but still in early versions)
Point still stands, they have the #1049297536617291827 for a reason (allow users to send, and authors to get feedback for the mods)

i was playing on darkgru one time and some on the US team was camping in the bushes distracted by a vehicle near the school, i got the drop on him dumped an entire mag, and he just turned around and told me hed let me live if get lost and pretend i didnt se him, i starteed magdumping again just to start recording, and insta taps me on the head.
he didnt identify himself as game master, so i just assumed he was godmoding
You know the real red flag is devs have barely commented on anti-cheat, like it's being silently ignored. I haven't played in weeks because of a bad run of 5+ cheaters per day for multiple days in a row, I love this game but I think there are too many people who cheat already

Considering how heavy an mi-8mt is, the best I can tell you is just play ahead when landing. Slow down at a farther distance than you normally would.

And as Vadim said, you kind of have to plan your manoeuvres a little earlier than you would for the Huey.
I do this. I reach 1-2m over the ground and try to stabilize for landing. And have troubles here 🙂

A lot of the "hacking" is actually desync and you are only hitting him clientside
It's an issue with server performance. I've played a lot of Reforger and haven't really seen any hacking
Pretty much how its supposed to fly. The Mi8 is notorious big and heavy. I reccomend playing around in game master, if you can get good at the Mi8, then flying the Huey is like a magic carpet.
For reference, you can hook land into tight spots with the Mi8, I can land on top of buildings and in streets with it, but like the other guy said you really gotta prepare for your landings a lot earlier.
If you pull back the cyclic and lower the collective right, you should be able to 0-0 land and hover in the same spot once your speed hits 0
Flying so far, I conclude the best way for me to land a Mi-8 is an "airplane landing". You do not try to fully level and reduce the ground speed to zero. Instead, you land as you would do in an airplane with a little forward ground speed.
Apparently this way needs more space than Huey would need, but at least it gives me stable results.
And one should keep in mind, that Mi-8 is a Mr. Tail Strike.
I definitely do in an open feild. But in a tight spot you will likely damage your rotor blades. You can 0-0, but you need to be dead 0 before you touch down.
Yeah it definitely needs a lot more space. My advice is place a bunch of landing pads around in game master, and try to land dead on them. There is a youtube guy called CallMeTomme who does good landing videos for arma3. Look up zero-zero landing. That's the best way to land the mi-8 without rolling (wheel breaks on)
You can J-hook it, but requires an extra rotation sometimes, and lots of height to be able to pull it off.

Having people teleport behind me has been the major pain, at least I hear their boots hit the ground and just kill them the first 4-6 times before they kill me once and yell obscenities. It's been a more and more common happening and is blatantly obvious when playing Official Conflict servers(no GM) also lately I was on US team on 3 occasions I watched a team mate straight up say 'I don't need a ride' and then literally run past the jeep on the way to obj lol

Tell me how often a soldier should drop within 5m of me while I am sitting in the woods away from everyone and all respawn radios, etc? 30 seconds? because I've killed the same person 15+ times in a row before they gave up and used their cheats on my less capable teammates causing them to leave(and no I didn't go on radio and start crying accusing someone of being a cheater, I just observed them leave and then later gave up after making the call themselves over text chat)
After doing some more flying, I believe I have identified the cause of my inconvenience. My initial description of Mi-8 with the addjective "inertial" was incorrect. The appropriate adjectival word is unstable. A Mi-8 can be leveled, but it cannot be stabilized. It always loses its stabilization and begins to move forward or backward.
Conduct an experiment by comparing the behavior of an autohover of Huey and a Mi-8.
Mi-8 will swing back and forth, whereas Huey will remain motionless or move very slightly.
I take this as a Mi-8 flight model setup flaw.
Yeah not sure. I can keep it pretty stable while hovering. When dropping people off on roofs or uneven ground hovering is a necessity.
Auto hover is another story though, I have seen that rock back and forth you are describing. But you should never really use auto hover unless you have to, you have more control without it.
So I think this is a skill issue. Don't get me wrong though, flying the Mi-8 is a pain, it handles like a bus, slides around if you dont land properly, and is totally unforgiving if you make even the slightest mistake. However I think this is intentional, the thing is massive no, way will it handle like a huey or a littlebird.

Flying with keyboard only. And disappointing keyboard can't be used to manage the camera movement, as in Arma 3.
Yeah true, I think trackIR is broken too. I switch over to a controller when flying in Reforger and its much easier. Being able to adjust the cyclic, and the anti torque, with more anologue controls makes a real difference. Cause with WASD you can't always adjust every detail and a slight key press can be a massive over correction.
My only gripe is I can't bound left thumbstick to collective and right thumbshit to cyclic, since right thumbstick is hard bound to look around. Which I guess I would still want trackIR for that setup anyway.
Now this is annoying, hope BI reintroduce this option soon.

I play a lot of modded servers, however, i do enjoy vanilla because more players tend to 'stretch their limbs' so to speak. More niche features are utilized (fuel trucks, arsenals, construction trucks, plus different roles filled) compared to modded. Biggest complaint about vanilla is night fighting, the game just comes to a screeching halt

I feel like Arma Reforger is one of the closest experiences to Hidden & Dangerous 2 one can have in 2024. Both games are Czech too. Both games have a similar soundtrack at times.

If it's not capturing at all. Could be an ai or player hiding or stuck.
ai can often get stuck in rocks and walls or fall under the map.
Ai or a player can also crouch and spins while pushing into a wall or object you can often times faze into it
Oh I really wish they would add a profile system like in previous titles. I guess this has been talked about here many times by now but still having to use steam name ingame is not ideal for most milsim communities.

I think air collisions between helicopters need some rework. It currently feels like bumper cars, you collide with other helicopter andmost of the time bump away without any damage.
When you collide with other helo you should get critical hull damage every time and when hitting tail you should in addition to hull damage lose tail rotor. Currently it is almost impossible to do that.

Doesn't have to be this way again, but the old way of having to reconfigure the radio at the main tent was better imo, you actually had to go out there and fight, cover your buddies heading for the radio, use smoke grenades to conceal yourself etc.
Plus 1, you could also keep ahold of it and skill would matter more as a group of six guys now and before needed much more skill
On the other hand, before you could just run in, hold F for a short period, and take a base. For all the times it encouraged teamwork and skill, It was just as often too quick and easy.

Hey. Will it be possible to edit waypoints that we give to the AI? Currently, when we issue a "Move" or "Forced Move" command in GameMaster mode, a circle appears which the AI is supposed to enter. Usually, the AI reaches the edge of this circle and then proceeds to the next one. In my opinion, it would be good to have the ability to edit the size of the circle to define the exact place the AI can reach. A large circle is problematic for the AI when it needs to reach a specific place, for example, a restroom inside a building. If I place a waypoint in it, the AI will reach the edge, which is in the living room, and stop there.
You can edit the size of waypoints in the Workbench, but I agree that it should be possible in GM
It should be possible to edit a lot more of they waypoints properties in GM.
Things like radius, stance, speed etc.
There are mods that already do this but I have no clue why it isnt in vanilla yet.

Yea, also really miss the ability to edit the arsenal for players as well as AI, just like in Arma 3. There were mods that added this feature, and it could also be included in the base game here. As ZEUS, you could right-click and edit a unit's arsenal or modify vehicles, adding equipment and weaponry. I hope they add many useful features for GM, especially if the regular editor is not going to be available.

THE MEDICAL SYSTEM has been a fantastic overall upgrade. I wanted to give feed back based on my current experiences to that related topic. Its fantastic. My only pet peeves i have is.... I wish the passenger could grab the driver wheel when the driver is unconscious. The other thing i really want to see... Is dragging, dragging players or friendlies it should be a feature. But that being said, it needs to be right. Good. Impressive. Not just a generic animation, the body being dragged needs some physics to it, the legs dragging ect. That being said, equipment should also determine how well the player and fast a downed player can be dragged. A player for example with lighter loadout should drag faster than one with a heavy loadout. Most importantly is the drag harness on many modern vests, this should be a key factor on the type of animation being used for the rescuer.

Correct me if I'm wrong here but if I'm standing in a window and a guy has a clear LOS to me and he is shooting at me, I feel like I should be able to hear that just as well from inside as I would be able to from outside. Currently, the walls seem to block the sound from the outside despite the fact that there is a broken window between me and him. I can never hear that I'm getting shot at. It kind of seems like the sound of the bullets hitting the outer wall is being muted by the walll too. Again, never been shot at so maybe I'm wrong but I would think that hearing the sound through an open window would be the same as hearing it outside. Or at least similar to the point that it would be loud.

I feel like the system that makes vehicles less likely to start the more damaged the engine is doesn't work right. Upon major damage, the car refuses to start until the character eventually gives up, with minimal or moderate damage you don't see any change. So either it starts or it refuses to start, there's not really an inbetween where it takes longer it seems.
The US razor wire works fine, you also cant jump over it. They used to have the same model for razor wire idk why they ever changed it

Ive never fired anything but a pistol IRL but the orientation of that Red dot scoped pullup doesnt feel realistic. Kind of like a mechanical camera arm pulling a gun on a rigid horizontal line rather than a quick somewhat pointed angle orientation i feel i'd pull that scope to
they need to change the slowed movements of pip scopes, Ive raised my DPI and in game settings where the pip scope moves as fast as you can with iron sights and I saw no artifacts. at least have an option to change the modifier because pip scopes feel 5 to 10 times slower

Hey can we revert or fix the Soviet Barbed wire so its once again useable. Im unsure if people are aware but you can simply jump over the barbed wire and ontop of that it just de-spawns after a few minutes. Seems like a simple fix but it has been persistent for around 6 months now.
negative, I just click on the reforger screen and im back in game, no auto shooting. But I do find it annoying that my mouse can go to the desktop screen while in game, like on the map screen, I feel like I should have to alt+tab to get my mouse out of the game screen. 🤷♂️

Usually maps are used folded and aren't usually used unfolded.
I would love once the experimental features come to stable for the single player scenarios of conflict to spawn you with a group of five ai for you to command (preferable of each role) that would go hard, my biggest issue with single player conflict is there is Nothing to watch your back

Theres a mod called ACE Medical i think and it makes being a medic alot easier you can partially heal people with out having to have supplies in your bag and you can full heal people inside of Medical vehicles. I hope something like this comes to the main game because having to lug around supplies in your pack to heal people just isnt viable.

Please bring back weapon inertia, that causes sight misalignment when rotating left and right quickly depending on weapon mass. Currently the PKM is the most effective close quarters/room-clearing weapon, which is not realistic.

If you're going to bring up the cursed term "realistic", I have to disagree with you. If you watch some footage of current wars, nobody is clearing rooms like a SWAT team; soldiers will destroy anything potentially alive in a room before entering, often with a PKM.

View distance is set by the server and is the same for everyone. If it's set like this it's probably due to performance and netcode sync problems.

yeah I wish I had the time to whip that up quick. I had thought about it before maybe using the reconnect script when a client crash happens, but Id have to figure out how to get my BohemiaIdentity to fake join and crash so the slot is reserved for me throughout the match. That way it will show as full but save a slot for me, not confusing players. But time... Im already 2 weeks behind updating my scenario for the next update. 😢

Yeah it did. You would get hurt and then you could patch yourself up and a medic could fully heal you. Even OFP had it where if you got shot in the leg you could only crawl and arm injuries messed with aiming. Then a medic would need to heal you.

The wrecks are for set dressing. A3 had a ton of wrecks for vehicles that were never in the vanilla game.
Yeah, but "medic would need to heal you" was pressing the heal button on the scroll menu. I think you can see the difference. The Reforger medical system is way deeper.

All I have ever had to do in Reforger is select and then press the bandage button. That isn't much different. At least in OFP I couldn't walk if I got hit in the leg. Or I had to limp in A3 for the same thing. I don't think that happens in Reforger... or at least I don't remember it ever happening

It is easy to test. If you get hit in the helmet up close, you will go down.
And yes, I would prefer if the slow and accuracy effects were stronger, like in A3. Still, you are slowed when hit in the legs and less accurate when hit in the arms. More so when they have a tourniquet.
I'm really hoping it stays where it's at with maybe the addition of limping. I don't need Arma to be surgeon simulator. Much like I don't want Arma to be DCS. I'm happy with a middle ground with interesting mechanics

currently you only need one bandage so a tournequit is mostly uselless
But the damage and healing is still way more advanced than vanilla in any previous game. There is overall health and blood, bleeding and bleeding to specific zones, anyone can go uncon by default (and from at least three different methods), 5 different medical items, a much better armor simulation, etc. Way deeper than vanilla A3.
Which support the original argument: when Reforger goes deeper and with more authenticity in so many mechanics, it makes sense that they could maybe decide to do so with things like burying mines and adding more realistic mine detection and stuff.
Personally, I wouldn't expect any of that until A4, though.
Especially when BI has confirmed that some stuff is reserved for A4, such as more complex smoke employment behaviors

you can just drop your console.log and it will contain all mods that are loaded, no need to go out of your way to list mods
however the console log will expose ip addresses sometimes, so maybe its better to just cut out the relevant mod part

They're for vehicles and you'll be surprised how often they hit vehicles, especially slightly offroad at a road block
A fun thing to do is set up an ambush with mines behind the ambush and nothing to block them. You start shooting, they panic and drive faster... right into the mines.
Idk if there is a GetSurface() type of thing like DayZ recently added.. Not sure if it would be scriptable in Reforger to get the terrain you are on. I imagine it would be especially with the water being a thing
What do you think about the animation of the unconscious? I think it would be better to have only the ragdoll
is ragdoll calculated by server (we all see the same body position) or is it by client (different outcome, each player see different body position)
since they teleport instead of moving smoothly I am guessing server
Ragdoll couldnt breath (cant play anims on top of ragdoll), so there would be no visual difference between dead and uncon.
however we are supposed to have more different uncon poses, but they arent working ingame currently 😦
I mean scale the torso bone slightly with a sine wave over time or something
when in Ragdoll, animation graph isnt played, and ive been told its not possible. as well as in theory bones scaling shouldnt be supported
if animation cant be applied to ragdoll how about color of the skin ? lets say deadman is more pale than living player

at that point a grave feature and bury body feature would be needed 😆

It did in that particular mission, as far as I remember! Don't remember any teleporting, was a loooong time ago though.

can we get mouse wheel functionality added to driving, like when holding w or s in a car whether moving or not you can set the top speed it will go to and a display will tell you exactly what that speed is so you can set it for convoys
then if the player presses shift itll pass that speed but otherwise itll stay at the set max speed

if you mean how fast you accelerate, then you still have the issue of spamming w at a certain speed to achieve a desired speed
if you mean the percent of the vehicles total speed then it wont be even acrost all vehicles and setting the percent acrost multiple vehicles in a convoy would be a pain

Neither. Literally the throttle, like how much the accelerator is depressed, which is how you control a car. For helicopters, the collective.

I wish variable throttle was a thing, even if there was a 'light throttle' with Ctrl+W similar to 'full throttle' with Shift+W
What mouse wheel with the current walk/run mechanic does is give mouse and keyboard users similar control over walking speed that a stick has on a controller. It should be the same for vehicles: control over the throttle, like the trigger has on a controller.

And just like how A3 had different speeds for walking and driving, Reforger can have more precision on the scroll wheel.
Walking also doesn't set a fixed speed, and so does not work like a cruise control.
I feel like if there are vehicles that have cruise control, it would be best to have the controls as an interactive part of the cockpit, and only if the car would actually have it.
cruise control doesn't belong in a video game like arma, because you can just animate the foot doing all the work even if it functions like cruise control, virtual peoples feet don't get tired
I'm arguing that the virtual person shouldn't automatically do the work for you, we should continue to have to control the throttle ourselves.
It was being considered but currently other vehicle simulation and control issues have precedence
Btw Zguba do you know if something broke in regards to using CTRL while aiming down sights/scopes in experimental ? Cannot adjust crouch height anymore, neither does my CTRL custom key bind for walking work while aiming

Hi There... Here is my little niché complaint: I play on 32:9 and the russian ak scope is too bright, I guess because there is so much darker space on the screen. But anyhow, never mind: game is awesome and You Devs do a really great job.
It’s the case for every optic, also windows inside buildings, lighting has been bugged for a while

Hi Centipede.. I mean Mr_Centipede, thanks for the tip. I tried that and it worked, but the 3D scopes are just so much nicer. It does not make the game unplayable or anything near that, its just a luxury problem with the autobrightness for us privileged ultrawide users. Just wanted to shed some light on it for BI. Pun intended. ;- )

Bug Report - Civilian UAZ-469 Open Top does not eject vehicle occupants when the vehicle is flipped upside in mid-air. The Soviet UAZ-469 Open Top is working correctly though.

Will there be the ability for modder's to just edit there workshop, descriptions, change logs, and pictures? without having to re-upload the hole mod/terrain every single time?
Also will there be oceanic servers for the workshop? Currently it takes me 20/35mins to upload 500mb (from Australia) and this can be painful as sometimes its just uploading a picture, or fixing a mission, or tweaking a tree. but yet you have to re-upload the hole file, not the edited files
they used to have an issue where the civilian closed tops registered as open tops, allowing you to put less supplies and it looked funny inside since it was missing the supports for the canopy
Yep, thanks, so do I think. I guess it is pretty close to how cameras work. Try to make a well exposed picture from inside a room -windows will always be washed out and are too bright. But our eyes are very good at extrapolating information even from too bright elements, maybe that will be taken into account in the future.
this is exposure compensation, not High Dynamic Range, and it's extremely bugged in the game currently
if the game had HDR the brightness difference would be much smaller
or, actually, the HDR post process filter is bugged so I take that back, but the game does not support HDR

I think the HDR filter actually does exposure (over)compensation, the game has no HDR support though so the name confuses me
yes i know it was the problem with exposure at a while back night, so i changed it in my darker nights mod, but they made changes to the material that made it redundant
Whats up boys, so I'm brand new to Arma Reforger Tools and I'm trying to learn how to use the World Editor. I've run into this issue where I am unable to play as a character in my world no matter what. The "Play" button is always greyed out, and the F5 command does not work either. I've tried reinstalling everything multiple times, including restarting my computer to no avail. Here is a screenshot of my hierarchy:
I think at the moment it takes the whole screens average light levels and thats why you see different behavior depending on your aspect ratio.
Instead it should take some middle area of your screen at least when you are aiming down the scope to try to mimic how our eyes focus on things.
I do like that it is a feature and it should be a thing that affects the gameplay in a realistic sense, like it being difficult to see indoors from the outside during a bright day.
I made a mod that removes the fov reduction or zooming in while ADS and the problem becomes very apparent especially with the russian sights due to the eye cups.
I think for this to really be a useful tactic, they should make offroad driving more difficult or risky.
At leats in most places in vanilla maps you can just go around a destroyed bridge without too much of a hassle
agreed, so your the person who made that mod? I genuinely love it because it is simple and makes the sniper gameplay 10 times better, it feels more natural with the screen not zoomed so much and the PIP looks more detailed and less blury when not zoomed in, i hope devs consider this for vanilla tbh

Not sure if it's for all animations, but when you switch to gunner, by clicking ESC you can bypass animations in vehicles. causing the player to switch to the gunner, or other positions in the vehicle in seconds.

Hey can we revert or fix the Soviet Barbed wire so its once again useable. Im unsure if people are aware but you can simply jump over the barbed wire and ontop of that it just de-spawns after a few minutes. Seems like a simple fix but it has been persistent for around 6 months now.
Would be a cool mechanic if you combine it with jams.
It's just that you can remove the mag, put the fire mode selector in safe, but you can't clear the chamber unless you fire that round.
It's not a big deal, but it's like they did everything so well, and then there's this small detail that wouldn't be hard to change.

Yeah yeah. Personally I would also want that empty magazines are not discarded and you had to fill them as that is a big thing in real life soldiering, but I guess it doesnt fit the current fast paced gameplay.
Women have been in the armed forces for a long time.... Its about damn time that the arma series recorgnize them in the game. Even if that means air dropping in maxi pads.
if there were women civilians, and differing ages that would really sell the realism. I could see them being added in factions for national guard which would be cool, but my guess is that is is out of scope for reforger, A4 maybe? hopefully

In operation Flashpoint (Arma Cold War Assault) after the player got killed, it showed quotations like:
"War is a series of disasters which result in a winner" or "It is well that war is so terrible, or we should get too fond of it".
Those put a nice touch of seriousness and thoughtfullness into the game, which I liked alot. We do enjoy to play war, while it is actually a very terrible thing, that I never want to experience in real life and it hurts me that it is still happening right now.
I know that if you disrupt reload animation before you press bolt release or charge handle then you must repress R and it will complete the reload, nice detail

Not really a feedback on Reforger itself but more on the S105 Rally Edition mod.
I like it, I feel it unlocks the potential of the rally-game that Reforger really could be. Sure, it fills a really small and funky niche but driving in this game is pretty good.
