I have the same spec as dodgy and the preformance is coin flip. I either play with over 100 fps or 40 fps max.
No idea why and how. Changing settings doesn't help at all. It's completely random.
Oh... 40 fps is avg for me. Scientists claim most humans can register between 30-60fps with their eyes. I think I'm somewhere in the middle.

This seems to be pretty common, but I would like some water effects when I walk or drive through puddles
Also making game master a bit more like 3den to make it easier for mission editing

it would also be nice to have big splash effect when driving in the lake or sea or something like that

Would be pretty nice to have backend updates/changelogs, might keep me from pulling all my hair out! Its become obvious you guys can update that without doing a game update, so how are we to know when something has changed on the backend without just a wild guess? I dont see players using the new medical system. If you go incapacitated, you simply respawn. What if when you die, (killed or force respawn) you lose one rank. When you die as sergeant, you went back to corporal. If you die again, then you go back to private. That way, maybe we wont see too many BTRs... And those that can spawn a BTR, will be deem precious. Or maybe the players wont care anyway
I dont think that is good, it takes time and just because you get teamkilled couple times you lose rank, It should just be spawn timer extended but not losing rank due to respawn or death

because right now there is no "reward" besides having back soldier faster, they should add something that will encourage people to use this system instead of respawning
it might have better sense with 100 vs 100 when every soldier count when respawn time would be over 1 min
The reward for reviving someone which takes couple seconds on most situations is 1 more person to fight with
A lot just dont know and are new to the game, Some just dont bother learning the game.
Some dont even have a clue that you are downed
but then why bother if you can respawn and have your loadout saved ready = so they give up, and also people dont bother to help because a) dont know how, b) they might be killed by enemy when doing so if no one cover the place
Literally 1 morphine wakes up most people, and the point of being downed is that you dont have to wait minutes to spawn and come to the area again, not every place, especially on everon has a radio man

iam reading about this mod right now and even pointing finger looks like something it should be implemented right away in reforger (Allows players to point in a direction with their fingers, when they do so people around (4m by default) can see a big circle in the pointed direction.)

A medic "class" is fine, but it needs to be someone who just has more knowledge.
ACE was brought up and that's really how it should be.
Regular players can stabilize (and bring back with morphine depending on severity of wound) and medics can bring that back to full health with blood bags for serious injuries or "stitching wounds" which would be represented by a lowering of overall max health (can take one or two less rounds?).

Im pretty busy getting my other servers up now, but I may have found the issue. The Crash Reporter never actually shut down, it's been open for the last few days, I think thats why I was in a crash loop.
Time. Time is huge in this game, 2 minutes travel time can mean the world of difference and then there is supply usage on top of this(stuff will cost ammunition supply at some point so you better get used to being efficient). Someday people will realise that the extra time alone saved being 2+ grouped is well spent even if only for medical assistance purposes.
As far as I'm concerned, it's a skill issue if you don't take advantage of such systems available to your disposal.
Re: Environment Update, looking splendid, however the skybox/cloud formations are still a big let down with Enfusion and are increasingly looking out of sync with each environmental update, hopefully there is still more to come on that front.

Our current match on PBS has been going on for two hours. I as GM crashed once at the start. The majority of players said they didn't crash at all during the past two hours.
Second match, I had to head out after an hour. During that hour, I saw one mass crash of eight players. Nothing more.
Not sure if this has been brought up, I absolutely love the new changes to the maps. One request? Can we get height added to the topo map?

you can point with a finger in Reforger, but it has no magical circles
need to do more verification and testing but I couldn't close the map after using the markers on a DS. I had to 3 finger salute it.
I love the attention that was given to waves, wasnt expecting that! They look very realistic indeed. Here is some (completely subjective) feedback:
- Maybe boost the sound. Would be so cool to hear the waves from further away and louder. The watery sound is good, but I do miss that big humming sound from waves that are further away
- The waves seem too fast, if i pay attention it seems like im fast forwarding some footage

PLZ remove the sl map markers people are having friends in party chat/discord join opposite teams and are telling each other the locations of enemy players

Can we get more type of containment zones? Maybe ones that we can control the size of, and make em team speicific. Also ones that restrict players from getting inside, not going out of. This will help a bit with server moderation.

A good bit ago I got off a game that lasted 4 hours on the powerbits arland conflict server, I was there for most of it and here's the results
-The server held on for the whole duration, mind you it was running fully vanilla (I think so anyway)
-Hit registration felt wonky, I used a M60 for a bit and felt like shots weren't connecting or not registering, I then switched to the M14 (or M22 w/e) and got way more response via volume of fire (I just kept shooting until the bad man was dead, this was at 60-90 ping, also it just shoots faster)
-There were SOME mass disconnects (internal error) of 4-8 people at a time at certain points, though the cause of this is unknown to me as I wasn't caught in them
-Some odd connection error disconnects here and there otherwise
-In the span of those 3-4 hours I was on I crashed twice via the screen freezing, no prompt to send the crash logs appeared, got back in pretty quickly though
-I got captain by killing ~100-150 soviet soldiers and mostly holding the military training area in Arland, unfortunately the stats of this were lost on the second crash so I can't get my full bragging rights going /shrug
-I can't feel my soul after four hours of tube grenades
Overall: Stability proves to be significantly better, will continue to look further into this, but I'm happy with the results of the game actually being more playable thus far

The PBS server lags on its own, not quite ideal for some hit detection and the like
I played all day on Thursday from the update release until about 2 am gmt, this was on the PBS server and not once did I get kicked from the server or did the server/round reboot, I had one crash but strangely the game just locked and I got the standard windows crash message without the Bohemia crash report send request, this was around 12 hours of play time with the server for the most part full
Friday was a bit of a mixed bag as in the afternoon there where a couple of server kicks and also restarts of the round, I haven’t been on at all since fri tea time but Thursday was 100% night and day more stable compared to previous versions
most of those problems are caused by the shitty server provider pbs uses not the game
why do people think that bugs in the game are somehow relevant to server providers?
They just need to get their jabs in
Some server providers overload their machines with multiple instances which results in crappy performance for the renter
yea I guess that would get you some lags but not the replication kick nonsense I'm seeing all over the place
because i only have those problems on pbs but never on official
i love pbs im on it as im typing this but the majority community servers have lag issues that official doesn't from my experience

the inventory bug is still present. every now and then i hop out of vehicle and cant unholster my primary or switch inventory items and am forced to respawn to fix it

Yeah for me fix is to get back in the car and back out, or run and spam the next weapon button

The work around to this bug, I think, is to not interact with the vehicle inventory while in the vehicle. I don’t do that anymore and I no longer get the bug

The most annoying bug that appears fixed is the one where you get the binocular overlay when exiting the build screen? Thank God that’s fixed!
So I played about 30 hours (about 2/3rd on Offical, 1/3rd non-official) since the update came out. And credit where credits due, it’s a big improvement as far as I can see! I only had one game crash, and no real problematic bugs. I did get a new one a couple of times where the truck I was driving 100% lost power for some reasons, but hitting reverse and going forward again seems to fix it. Also another minor one a couple of times where I couldn’t equip a radio backpack. But overall, it was really stable.

My favourite new “functionality” in this update is a super subtle thing, but I’m loving it. Which is when you see the leaves blow off the trees and bushes when a grenade or a rocket explodes nearby. So good! 😃 ….easy, pleased, I know!

100%, I was off on leave when the update was released and ended up hammering the game for about 3 full days and I had one crash and maybe a kick or possibly two but that was it, I always said stability being sorted would remove the shackles from this game
I look forward to a time of hopefully having 128 players on the full map of everon with the air support update
yes i have been overwhelmed by how good this update has been, i have played so much of reforger, my internet is crap full stop but i can still play a whole game without getting disconnected, devs need a pat on the back for this one they fixed their game, it is only going to get better to with the mentioned SA vehicle improvements they are working on and further traffic optimization 👍
That happened to me on the Arland play test with the devs. I had to run in as a suicidal soldier. Not sure if it worked
FEEDBACK: Script Mismatch Issue
At this time, and after joining server over 20 times in the last 12 hour period, I have not had one script mismatch error on joining.
I set my config to use only mods that have been updated under 0.9.9.97. Using the web workshop, I verified mod game version.

we already know this is due to a bug that's going to be fixed soon
This is a possible work around for server owners who are waiting for the fix, and people to be able to join without keep restarting. Define "soon". Today? Tomorrow? Next Week?
nature of the bug makes it so that it will intermittently happen to people regardless of how your server's config is setup

One bug that been prominent since the update is players who are in cars somewhere, are floating in the skies somewhere else. It happens way too often, and you can notice it more easily as GM.

One of the other new features I like is the "squad" leader positions appearing on the map. It makes it so much easier to co-ordinate strategy for Conflict....however, it doesn't seem to make narrative sense. Why would I, as a non-squad lead grunt, be able to see those positions and not my own position on the map? I understand why I can't see my own (no GPS in 1989). And it makes some sense that __squad __leaders might know the position of other __squad __leaders
Here's my suggestion, which makes more narrative sense:
- There should be a limited number of squads per side based on players numbers (e.g. 1 squad per 8 players)
- There should be an unlimited number of "teams" under squads
- Squad leaders should be able to see their own position (this is a "perk" for being squad lead)
- Squad leaders should be able to see the position of other squad leaders
- Non-squad leaders should __only __see their squad leader on the map
- Non-squad leaders should __not __be able to see their position on the map
Not a fan of squad leaders being able to see themselves on the map. Takes away from the land nav element of the game. Not really a fan of anyone being able to see anything on the map unless they put it there or they shared their map. But maybe that's too strict for a casual game and could be controlled on a server per server basis.
Maybe it could work somehow, that the SL and the radioman would have to be close to each other and then they would report their position on the map through some action. But it's complicated, so no one would do it anyway.
Interesting that they originally wanted it without positions as creative director noted it in some video and now it's being redone unnecessarily.
I believe the same thing. Clean boring paper map is the best, but we will probably have to accept the new changes for casual game play sake.
Yeah I get why it's done but from a realism standpoint I would much rather us having to be coordinating and drawing things on the map ourselves. But at the same time PvP and large scale PvE isn't my preferred method of play... just the only one I really have at the moment
i think it should be toggleable, i personally prefer as little real time info as possible on the map. if you need your position marked use a GPS
I think it can be toggleable, just like the radio/voice chat where you can see who is talking, some server disable that, so you don't know who is talking. Maybe its friendly, or enemy. In normal server if someone speak in radio with UNKNOWN, you know its enemy have access to your radio. If you hear someone on proximity chat, but no name comes out, thats probably enemy.

I think everything should be left to the server owners to adjust the experience, but I still feel that the developers even attempting this, in it current rendition is a diversion of what I thought was their vision for the game.
for me on m&k i just put about half a second inbetween each .5 tick upwards and it works.
If everyone is in their own team they can actually be used as player markers. 🥴

That’s why my suggestion is “automatic”. That is, its an abstraction of something that would be reasonable in real life for a squad leader to be reporting their position to platoon HQ, but it would be too hard and annoying to implement “manually” in game. Maybe it only works “automatically” if there’s a radioman in the squad? That seems reasonable
The issue is that Reforger is supposed to be about MP co-op. It’s very difficult to do that without some “virtual” assistance. Just using radio comms, is usually a waste of time. I think a good option for players like you and @stray frost who prefer a “clean” map would be to allow toggle off of map icons. Pretty easy.
A short term fix could be that add a feature to disband squads and have the admins add rules for squads. Although freedom to each server owner on that

These land nav elements and such sound great. But Reforger is already having people say that their team mates aren't communicating well or coordinating, this will just make it even harder

That’s why my suggestion adds the additional level of “teams” under a “squad”. The current implementation with “unlimited squads” actually incentivises players to create many separate squads with only 1 or 2 players each, which is the opposite of what it should be for “co-op team play”
I think its more due to not much hardcore players coming in, hopefully it will become much better when game fully releases or arma 4 releases.

It can be quite calming. Open gm in single player, place down a single unit, take controll of it, set movement speed to lowest and just walk around the map

That's not mutually exclusive. Reforger is milestone to the road to A4.

Considering it within the wider trends of the game industry, BI is doing a damn good job of sticking to their roots with Reforger.
Look at any other 20 year old gaming franchise; it's transformed to generic game shit. But Reforger is still grounded in realism
People don’t play Arma for the wider trends, people play Arma for it’s attempt at realism. If people wanted the newest trends… They’d get the newest call of duty instead

True that. Imo one of the most arcadey mechanics is the conflict respawn radios. But I see them as a crutch until the game has better mobility options. (i.e helicopters)
MHQ? there are plenty of gamemodes in arma 3 that had mobile respawns.

This crap with the workshop backend is getting ridiculous. After getting a script mismatch error on joining my own server ALL 16 of my local mods became corrupted. This is the 2nd time this exact problem has occured in less than 24 hours. I am, yet again, having to redownload 4Gb of data at 3Mb/s because BI can't get this shit right.
Additionally, this is STILL occuring after 4 local wipes and 2 server wipes. This is not a mod issue, the workshop shits the bed every time something changes. I do not need both my client and my server to verify file integrity with a (barely functioning) third service. I understand that Reforger is still in Pre-Alpha but this kind of network stuff is not exactly rocket science.

I saw that message the other day, the issue I'm having is that attempting to reconnect til it works corrupts all my local mods
I'm also only running the same 16 mods locally that the server is running, so a load order issue shouldn't occur unless there's something else the backend is doing
3 days in a row now I've had to clear my cache after trying to join a server and getting the script mismatch error. Trying to join the server over and over worked the first time but since then it corrupts all my mods every time. I'm also running all of the same mods locally and that hasn't fixed anything.
Yeah I had a problem where I kept getting a "AUS optical" error and when I disabled all my mods I couldn't even play vanilla. BI, good luck.
I'm happy with 1PP when on foot, but I need 3PP for driving, for sure. But, yes, 3PP is arcady. In PVP I have to use 3PP to be competitive, because everyone else uses 3PP (TBF, 3PP is supposed to compensate for general awareness and subtleties you would have IRL, that are hard to account for in a game).
....but my biggest "arcady" complaint on community servers is having a kill feed. That is so ridiculous. So if we have a sniper hidden in a tree line, using skill and stealthiness to pick off careless enemies, those enemy players can just spam 40mm grendades and machine gun fire into the woods until they see a death appear on the kill feed. Its silly. Thankfully official servers don't use a kill feed.
Killfeed on PBS for example exist because the game has no kill logs to identify trolls and team killers. Killfeed help with moderation, and is a necessary evil.

It seems in new AMD driver 23.9.2, there is a problem with some type of grass/flowers/plants to only render at very close distance to you. The further ones not rendered. So when walking, it seems the plants popping up out of nowhere which kind of distracting. I don't know if this is BI problem or AMD problem, but I thought I should just mention it anyway

It's a valid complaint, removes alot of skill from the game
my biggest arcady complaint is that the game needs a mouse and keyboard to play -- I mean, it removes the entire skill aspect of aiming an actual gun
Seeing your kill on the corner removes the cautious play of knowing whether they're dead or not, or discouraging good and attentive teamwork by seeing someone died rather than actually keeping an eye on where and what your teammates are doing
Squad doesn't have a killfeed and that works to great success
Having to scan a treeline to confirm your kill, or looking behind you every now and again to know whether or not one of your buddies got nabbed, is a much more immersive and in depth gameplay style than the Battlefield Lite gameplay that some servers lean towards
At the end of the day it's preference, but Arma usually leans towards immersion and realism, so having killfeed off fits much more with the gameplay
I can agree no killfeed can be more "immersive" -- but calling such basic features "silly" because of this one example of a grenade spammer, or the few cases where an enemy's death is inconclusive, is dumb
you can remove it for your own playstyle, but it's a basic feature across the genre
Arma is in and of itself in its own genre

It happens sometimes. At first, I thought it only happens with the inv if sull, but no, even when I have space, it goes into the slot sometimes.

I remember on release the primaries could go into the inventory too, seems like that was disabled for primaries. I don't think it should be disabled for secondaries, but I do think it should go into it's designated slot if it's empty.

There's a lot that had to be handled with it though. Like what if you dig under a tree? Does it fall? What about a house? What if you dig a hole into the side of a lake? The water isn't going to rush in. Not to mention a lot of Everon has giant rocks under it
Those cases could be handled by not letting players dig in those places, just like you can't construct in those places.

So you can't dig fighting positions near roads, trees, bushes, buildings, water, or rocks.... which are the places you normally want to dig them because those are the places you want to defend. Not to mention the rock models are huge and all over the place.
yeah it is quite a complex issue, maybe limit it to certain terrain texture layers even? so no diggin through rock or concerete

Yeah, it would probably work better if the map was divided into a square grid, into some sectors.. and based somehow on "boots on the ground" and not on signal and teleportation.

There is nothing complicated about it, if you know how the game works, you know the script, you can do it in a few hours.
And there is no point in alternating the game mode because no one would play it anyway considering the number of players and fuctionality of BI workshop. Maybe in the future someone will edit it in a similar sense.

I was playing around a lot in refroger, and I noticed that there is really nice animations when player/AI goes unconscious in vehicle, but when dies, it just get teleported outside. My feedback , it would be really nice to see them actually in same animation but dead in vehicle instead of being kicked out. It would add to realism. I hope i got channel right for report.
Same script (button in menu) for removing casualty would be nice addition to dead bodies, once Body is removed , it drops out in standard way
Edit: It would add to realism , given example once AI starts to drive, players make ambush once vehicle crash into tree nearby, they slowly aproach vehicle, while they should get some heavy machin-gun raining down on vehicle, to make sure people are dead inside, to have safe aproach to confirm , it adds a lot to realism

It's possible for three players working together to lay hundreds of mines in a few minutes. One player drives the Ural, while another drops a mine out from the truck every meter. You can either have a couple of players following the truck screwing in fuses, or just do it yourself after laying.
However, until now, I think I might have been the only player aware of this feature. Putting down a couple of hundred mines in Conflict sent people wild; they thought they must be dealing with a hacker or abusive admin.

Yeah I never have enough people with me to do stuff like that and I get paranoid that the mines will delete before I can arm them; same with vehicles on community servers lol sometimes the admins will clear vehicles while you are arming mines

A BIG issue that I don't see it mentioned a lot is how players take zero damage when the enter/exit vehicle animation is playing. Happens all the time.
If it’s a replicatable issue the devs are likely already aware of it
iam pretty sure right now it would super hard to implement, because unconcious state = alive = still have authority over vehicle

Inventory is a bit arduous to navigate on a controller, mainly when on modded and there's are many items to sift through, I don't knownhow it could be made any better though to be fair.
Another thing is swapping out medical items into the hotbar is time consuming, so if I'm trying to heal a player and I've bandaged them and want to give them a hit of morphine, the process to switch out the bandage to the morphine is clunky, would be nice to have more slots for medical items, or something like a d-pad shortcut like with the binos oland map map (right dpad+A, etc), maybe use left d pad for medical items?
Maybe something more like an "inventory tree"? So you see categories of items and click down? Would that be better? Dunno...
Yea maybe, definitely more navigable for modded servers when there are lots of items. Guess it would be like you'd have your equipment box, then sub categories like rifles, pistols, scopes, attachments.
Maybe that'd be too busy on the screen too though?

they should change conflict to be about map control instead of controlling a few select points

The current rules and systems of Conflict feel like they'd be better suited to guerilla style fighting reminiscent of a mode like Antistasi rather than depicting an actual conflict between 2 peer enemies (with a 3rd local force thrown in for good measure).
Conflict as a mode IMO really needs systems and mechanics that work to its objective of depicting a Conflict, as opposed to the current half-antistasi state that it currently has. And I hope that it's reworked and maybe split into 2 modes (one akin to antistasi and the other a proper Conflict) in the future.
The roadmap states multiple changes coming to Conflict thatll make it feel better, as well as changes coming that arent on the roadmap like the supply update

depends really on games, on milsim games is usually much higher than other games, and currently a lot of the player base is not the kind that would could or care to communicate (mostly xbox)
The 64 playtest on Arland yesterday felt pretty good. But they're always the odd one out
for example squad is not on console and is pc only and a lot of servers people communicate a lot.

Make the AI detect players while they are INSIDE the bushes, it's still to easy to sit halfway in a bush and take cracks at AI anywhere over 5m away. I think it should only hide player from AI if you're fully on the other side of the bush/tree
Yeah I love to see this removed but for radio only. Sometimes when I'm walking with my pals I have to speak while in map and while typing or sometimes I talk while writing in my notepad IRL and it's nice not having to hold 'T' down 🤓
You shouldn't even be able to go inside of a bush... at least not the middle. Make it like A3 where that stopped you.

I'm going to cry about 3rd person again, you've been warned.
So many players will just hide in a bush, and look around in 3rd person, until someone is near, then go out shoot them, then back on. It's like they have a UAV over their head at all time.
That explains why in 90% of all bush to bush encounters I win, because some monkey is playing with his aim at the ground while I listen to them shuffle around in the bush with my gun at their cocks

They can, but none does. We had a big influx of new players, and the servers have showed them that arma is a game that is played in 3rd person, instead of locking their server to 1st person, and introducing the new players to arma like that.

We SERIOUSLY gotta fix the mod manager bug. It occurs in both xbox and PC. Mods keep failing, and mod manager is incapable ( for some ) of deleting any files that have failed downloads or start download loops. Where it fails over and over again. Deleting all mods and redownloading DOES NOT always work. PLEASE FIX
All I'll say on the above debate is that players should be allowed to play in the way they want to and if a server owner doesn't like to have 3rd person play then they don't have to have it, don't see why there even is a debate on it. Its just preferences of which we are all entitled to.

I'm sure this is know already but when in GM and your character is not spawned in, when you go to open the context menu, it does not appear but you can still select the options. A bit frustrating when your trying to moderate.
You can also go into arma vision and raise the camera slightly to peak all around you above the Bush. Now that's true cheese

Old system felt very intuitive, the wheel forces you to stop what youre doing to change channels/etc
yeah it obscures your whole screen and it doesnt work most of the time
i do think it would be cool if they added local battlefield sounds to the radio, that would be quite cool, you only get the effect with players that dont use headphones but lemme tell ya it sounds very immersive when the person using the radio has to yell over gunfire
I havent had any issue with it not working but i have noticed that since it was implemented people just use platoon or default channels rather than trying to mess with it at all more often

yeah on PC you have to hold Ctrl, i do exactly that and it hardly ever works, sometimes i will manage to almost get to the frequency i need and it bounces me back to the start

One idea for (a version of) Conflict is to have it be a pure PvE mode with only 2 sides.
Players are all on one side, and only a limited set of points are active at any given time.
AI has a large number of bots, deployed in (at minimum) fireteam/section sized elements with squad sized elements being common.
Bots are only present at active points to ensure maximum bot density at conflicts (but immediately spawn at newly activated points to prevent steamrolls or cheesing).

I think there is a bug with keyboard hints on 1080p resolution. You know, when you ADS, there is a hint on bottom right to show what button is for changing ROF or zeroing.

If you guys are familiar with the game SCUM. It has a system, in which players will not render unless you have a direct line of vision to them. I think this will be a great way to combat 3rd person peaking without locking the server to 1st person view only.

In 0.9.9.97 changelog is stated: "Fixed: Multiple issues with nametags". Classically, you "fixed" hanging nametags on the screen in such a way that randomly no nametags are visible. Congrats 🙂 Another forever bug 🙂

The problem with the lack of nametags is mainly that you can't see who you're playing with and if you try to play in a team, they all look the same. No, in recognizing enemy uniforms.
I don't believe the nametags will ever be fixed, so for example you can make one character fat, another tall, dwarf, bearded, bearded dwarf and so on.

i like the rpg if u want to be a dedicated AT. since its reusable. but until russians get the scope for the RGP7 atm its easier to range estimate with law at leat when it comes to vehicles ( hint google M72 law manual 🙂 and get to the bit on range scales)
yeah LAW is an interesting weapon tbh, although the illuminated sight like you mentioned easily gives away your position at night, i do usually equip one if i play US but it would be nice if you could carry multiple especially considering how light they are! i remember when they were an actual pipe tho without the rocket inside! happy the devs fixed that, i would definately like there to be a feature though that if you pressed r and it was empty there would be a throw away animation and it would drop it, would be a nice touch in my opinion, also i think the lock animation should be slightly slower, but thats my thoughts on the weapon 👍

Match been runing for almost seven hours now, not a single crash. Although, the server got full at the ~three hours mark, before that it was 30 players only.

my performance so far on 128 everon is pretty much on par with regular 64 arland, maybe 5-10fps drop in high pop areas in the city but hitreg and driving is still smooth, on pc using 3060ti

I think flares should've been added already. Night fighting is almost impossible when AI can hit you with pinpoint accuracy from 300m away but you can't even see 5 feet in front of you.

recent updates had some stuff wrt particle lights, I expect flares might have something to do with that. Reforger can already have a lot of dynamic light sources which look pretty cool, but are limited in illumination area. When adding flares, the light would cover a bigger area, and potentially there could be many flares at any time in a given location. So I imagine it’s not easy to keep the performance good, while also making sure they look adequately awesome. Hence we wait.

that’s an optimisation that can let you do loads of lights. But the benefits of this optimisation drop to zero if the radius of these lights becomes large, as they would with some flares in the sky.

personally, can’t wait for vehicle collision damage, as that will affect gameplay massively, hopefully, by reducing rushing over the map, if it both breaks an axle and injures your character when hitting a rock - but probably it’s trickier to implement than is observable from the surface, hence we wait

The admin UI has this small list of players to the right bottom corner. It is useless if your server has more than 30 players.
It's too small, can't change the size of it. Doesn't have a search function. The players are not in alphabetical order. It doesn't even shows which team most players belongs to. There are blur players, red players, and grey players.
Finding someone in it is too time consuming.
Been having a lot of instances where I'm dying after leaving a vehicle. It used to be every once in a while but now it seems to happen way more often. Especially with the troop transport trucks when getting out of the back. It's happened with and without the vehicles being on.
once we finally get helicopters it would be awesome if we got medivac variants and maybe even a sling load system like in arma 3, i think it would work well with the new logistics system the devs have spoken about

Yeah I thought it was fixed since the update I had way less but now it's getting just as bad as before update. Mind you I notice it most when hopping out of the US Ambulance or the modded JLTV, but it is most heartbreaking when doing logistics and your supply vehicle is left to either despawn by the time you get back due to either the 10 mins delete bug or the shitty servers settings clearing all unused vehicles every 30 seconds

I also Love to see some more immersion added into the game like with Environmental update. Maybe Cows, Sheep, Goats and some that will attack if you get too close instead of always Humans. Great example here in the UK we get attacked by a cow if we go into the fields of them, Reforger or 4 can have this as well so the players gotta be on the look out of what fields to cross. This can be a togglable feature that can be added. It can also alert OPFOR as well like the birds do... much to play around with animals within the game.

It would be nice if there was a building that would give you resources from time to time, and that it would have to be connected to the main base through the other bases, that the building would cost 2000 resources or something like that, I think this would enhance base captures more and supply runs, sometimes it feels like capturing bases is completely pointless, this would make them a little more meaningful as a strong position.

what about more beefy hardtop humvees? ive read that there were something called a "supplemental armor package" that existed in the time frame. It would optionally installed be to reinforce the Doors with a thin layer of Steel, because the standard "X" doors weren't even made of metal. the Steel overlay gave them a smooth look instead.
still wasnt able to stop rifle rounds afaik. Rangers in mogadishu complained about these doors not being able to stop AK rounds, and only did so in instance when thier bullet resistant windows were rolled down.

So if the bottom of the torso and the top of the head line up at 3.9 magnification, theyre 390 meters out (Range 400 and aim for the upper neck)
And you should shoot them at 3.9 magnification
then the scope isnt modelled correctly because by that guidline i have a target zoomed in x9.... that would mean i have to range it out to 900m. yet im shooting way over. I had to manuall ( trial by error) zero to 600 meters before i got a headshot ( was aiming for upper torso)

no i mean the elevation of the scope self adjusting. the M21 manual says the sights themself should be zeroed at 300m, but that aparently zeroing the sights isnt nessesary after ranging process. because its supposed to do it by itself. " When turning the power ring to adjust the target’s image to the reticle, the sniper is also turning the ballistic cam. This raises or lowers the scope itself to compensate for elevation. Therefore, once the scope’s magnification is properly adjusted in proportion to the target’s image, the ballistic cam has at the same time adjusted the scope for the proper elevation needed to engage the target at that range."
because in arma reforger if my scope is still zeroed at 300m even if i estimate the range correctly shots will still fall short of target. IE adjust my zeroing for 600 if i ranged the target at roughly that range, SO i can line up the crosshairs and have the bullet land where i planted the crosshairs

Did anyone notice weapon rest works strange? You may need to do a good dancing around to find a spot for a weapon. I would expect the weapon rest algorythm to be less selective for the surface.
Like most features, they first make some basic semi-functional version and try or not try to make it work in some way with a horizon of several years. The chance that it will ever actually work in all cases is rather small.
Is it possible to receive rolled sleeve uniform variants into the arsenal, and also get the two hidden Soviet helmets (Net, Camo) into the base arsenals? Would be really cool tbh
Also, genuinely: could a function be integrated that prevented enemy faction from speaking on platoon frequency and only on squad channels? i personally see a lot of micspam / stupidity in conflict only occur on the major frequencies
supposedly radio encryption is coming in some form. the way it will be implemented will have solving that problem in mind (according to BI) but no details on it have been released. RHS has a really nice AN/PRC-152 which supports encryption and way more channels than base game so its definitely possible

yep happens to everyone, bc it needs to load the sound file i am guessing, but the same thing happens with all sounds and environment assets
sounds like sth that should be easy to fix, i hope. if not i create a mod that plays every sound at mission start at once just to load it into RAM 😂

Right now you can hold F, crouch down and aim around for anyone approaching. It should leave you vulnerable though, like throwing a grenade.

Casing point: start of match ( 20 min earlier), 1 griefer destroys all the VEHICLES - technically not a TK, so no penalty for TK -, and whole server can't seem to get together to kick the griefer..
That's probably the intended gameplay considering that BI doesn't do anything about it. About half a year ago, they were bragging that it was a priority to solve it, but absolutely nothing happened.

Honestly we need to start banning IP addresses for at least a month.
We've been complaining about this for as long as I can remember. Nothing from BI. Apparently they are "working on it" but who knows. Its incomprehensibly utterly ridiculous they don't give players the power to effectively kick trolls/griefers/TKers

It eye zooms every time you ADS. It completely ruins gunfights especially considering how often you need to ADS and un-ADS
Isn't there FOV setting ingame when you ADS? I set mine at 0%. So you wont zoom in when you ADS

Sometimes I experience when reloading, the sound play faster than the animation. Like in M16 the sound when removing the magazine and loading it again not synced properly.
Then when doing a full reload (empty mag/chamber) I have to press R twice because the round is not chambered when reload the magazine. Like press R first to reload the mag (the sound play all that, still not sync to animation) after the mag is reloaded, have to press R second time to release the bolt to chamber the round

I forgot how freelook works, haven't played in awhile. It's not that bad but not very intuitive either. Honestly the first time I stopped playing was when they redid the controller configuration last year or something. I hated it lol.

i am guessing it is the speed at which you pull the trigger button
its how far you depress the trigger. partial pull will result in "focusing", with the zoom intensifying as you depress, while full depression of the trigger will ads

This issue is caused by input detection. Soft pull vs full pull of the trigger. Soft pulls activate eye zoom, and the zoom level is based on how much the trigger is pulled. This works even when not ADSing. So when you do a full pull, it also registers the soft pull that takes place as you make the full pull. Which, it should not do. There should be a threshold of time where a soft pull is not registered so it doesn't misfire.

Yes. And it makes combat suck because it zooms when you enter ADS and when you leave ADS. It’s super jarring and clunky on top of that. You either deal with it or walk around with your left trigger held, fully zoomed in whenever you wanna fight lol
Hi so I was flying the helicopters on pc and I wanted to ask if the devs can make the flight controls more responsive on mouse and keyboard also hotas support would be great and thank you for adding them in the game it was much needed
The joysticks are not supported yet. We have issues with input handling that have to be resolved first.
How do you envision the flight control responsiveness improvements?
the mouse sensitivity is a bit slow then using wasd I like the arma 3 mouse sensitivity for the flight controls but Im having a lot of fun flying them right now 🙂

I am seeing alot of stuff missing when open my map in the experimental tools, like alot lot roads missing that are there on the current version on stable and houses forrests and such stuff
Just gonna say, as someone who has a lot of issues with the game this is a major step in the right direction
a lot of bugs in relation to supplies and building

People have been having issues too with supplies where they cannot unload them, like across the entire player base rather than individuals
so in my game right now we emptied every supply depot in arland and now no one can get supply to build anything haha
a player had a issue where they could not exit the map when in the co-pilot seat, could not open pause menu to respawn either.
the stick flags are currently bugged, the fia and ussr ones just turn into us flags
gm radial menu sometimes will not show options
would it be possible to get a red internal light for the heli's? for night flying
another good feature to have for pilots is to have your speedo and altitude gauges in first person in the cockpit

If you go fps, you are supposed to look at actual gauges, just like in car. Hud ones are only in 3rd person

The new supply system actually causes more people to argue who gets a helicopter, whos wasting supplies on helicopters and who gets to fly them. Its turnings people to become absolute ferals and creates a lot of toxic behaver on the server, it probably doesn't help that the supply depots are not unlimited anymore too
I think that this will be very hard to fix with no roles, mby commander update will help a bit.

I think if they made supply depots unlimited it also creates a
situation were people can be happy knowing that they get to do what they want to do in the game and it reduces the arguments and toxic behaver. You don't have to worry about draining supplies in the base if you just send a truck up to get your supplies for a helicopters. Right now its a huge race to get to the supply depot because supplies are limited in each match and its not certain a player will get one. when you get to late game you're just relying on base supply regeneration and also when players do get a helicopter they usually player very conservatively because they don't want to lose it and because its not certain that they will get another one.
That's where pvp comes in.
I think locking helis behind a higher rank will help with that a lot

Yeah cause you also get the players that are "like if I can't fly a helicopter then know one can". It happened in a couple of my games I played last night, we had our supply's cleaned out and dump in the water.
