For this you have to make sure they’re enabled, then you can only use them in offline solo play. On game master. They aren’t approved for multiplayer yet.
They are approved for multiplayer, that server just needs to have those mods
I’ll watch video thank you. As far as I’ve seen the only way to do a custom scenario with game master is to find a empty multiplayer lobby, vote yourself as game master then spawn stuff in and start playing. But even at that people can still join and vote themselves in as gamemaster then just delete the scenario you’re working on.

However I know I saw somewhere that Reforge will get some 3 major updates (+ more smaller inbetween like the today's one) and that vehicles/weapons/features will be added too with those big updates. Really not sure where exactly I have seen that and if I remember it all correctly.

That could just be because they limited the server sizes, though.

A buddy of mine is getting this error. Battleeye is 100% installed. Was able to connect to servers before not able to now. Can't find anything relating to this error for Reforger, only for Arma 3

thats wrong, theres no mounting system in the game yet
mods located in C:\Users\username\Documents\My Games\ArmaReforger\addons by default. inside each mod folder is a ServerData.json file that contains the 3 parameters necessary to add them to your server

If mounting was only prone that would ge a problem, kneeling is more practical depending on the environment

I assume it's either different for the enemy, or they can't hear you without the encryption key anyway. As a second question, are there any forms of radio relay in the game currently for communication?
i wonder if the enemy team sees the same frequency? then they can yoink an enemy radio and listens in on the players. or just use the default frequencies to listen to everyone because nobody bothers chaanging frequencies
I assume the radio towers are just for the other thing called radio range which is what base you can cap or not
this whole radio stealing thing needs to get changed tbh. its fun for a second but long term letting players grief eachother like that is too toxic

yeah ive done that too. fun for a minute but overall makes the game less streamlined, making everyone second guess everyone else, having to ruin the flow of the game by looking in the player list to see if the players are in the right team

Well let's not forget that this is the stepping stone for Arma 4, this feature if it would pop-up in Arma 4....... well it would be a great feature for those willing to use it is semi PVP/TVT/COOP (with some small opfor group of player).
organized PVP/TVT/COOP communities normally decide on their own rules and have no issues with upholding them

About the walkie-talkies, you wrote a little earlier. I wrote about it once. I think we need a setting for servers that disables the visibility of the nickname in the radio. For example, I play on a large project in A3, where we play large missions for 210 people, reconstructing real combat every weekend. We are already used to the fact that communication by radio has a special regulation, and we will know exactly when the enemy is on our radio wave. In Reforger, I recognize the enemy on my radio right away, because I see nicknames there.

ACE team is already considering making ACRE for Reforger/4, so unless something goes terribly wrong we'll have alternative communication methods
By the way, I have a question about limiting the number of players on the server. Is it known if a higher limit will return? For Conflict mode 64 people is very small

Reforger, almost certainly not. A4, they haven't suggested it will be. With their new engine maybe a port will be viable in the future but it doesn't look like it's a priority

So, I have tried doing this, but it doesn't seem to work. So maybe not implemented yet. In Game Master, I'll spawn a BTR and add enemy to it. But no matter how many I add, none of them get in the drivers seat. So I'll take control of one and manually get in the drivers seat. Then I'll go back to GM and click the vehicle, then mark a waypoint. They just get out. Can the AI not be told to drive vehicles yet or am I missing something?
I believe any of the Life mods on the workshop are frameworks only or not fully working. I don't believe any of them are fully working yet. But, I believe all mods should be cross compatible. So if someone starts a Life server, you should be able to join it from console. This is just my guess from reading though.

It is most likely a mod issue. I had the same issue, so tested mods 1 by 1 and found the culprits. Removed them and loaded into server fine.

i was able to stay in a server for a few hours. but it was low pop, like 15 players
it won't really matter if it is or if it's not, they basically have the same version of the game as we do
right haha... and like every big streamer that has played has crashed and got upset and cut the game off.... like u figured that alone would embarrass them and make it top priority to fix it when theses streamers are like showcasing their game...

i'd be surprised if it wasn't their top priority. that doesn't mean it's going to be the first thing to be fixed or that all other development halts until it's fixed. some problems are more complex than others. there could be multiple problems involved in it

Hi, i have a question related to game files on Steam. I just checked the verification of integrity of game files in Steam, and at the end the result says " 1 file is missing. It will be reaquired further on. " What exactly this means? When is further on? How to identify the missing file, or how can i solve this issue? At moment i can acess the game but with 20 minutes game crash's , I am wondering if this is the root cause of game crashing and server disconeccting me
- No, this file (probably) has nothing to do with current connection stability issues that everybody is having
- Steam updated this file for you after validation. If it was just a single file, then probably download finished before you finished reading this message

I was hoping it was a radio relay, but I tested last night and nope. If you're familiar with CBs, you can use a relay to get extended range.
idk about that but it'd make most sense for that to be the designated frequency to use for defence of a specific point
Every base and a mobile HQ that is friendly should behave as a relay for the signal.
As Jezuro said in #reforger_conflict , the frequency is just a helper for joint groups attacking an/or defending the base.
That makes no sense when squads default to a squad frequency. Why would you change to a base frequency when attacking only to change again for the next base.

It would make more sense to capture a base, then benefit from the extended range of using that base frequency
Also, it would make strategic sense to capture a base to interrupt the opposing teams long range radio.

That's vanilla. You can take off scopes. It should be double-clicking the weapon to see attachments.

Hello I'm here to ask if theres any ways to sling your gun onto your back and being able not to hold anything ingame?
Does storing supplies do anything after you've built all the structures? If not, I'd like to see respawns limited while supplies are low. And each time there's a respawn, deplete the supplies a little. This will force the players to run supplies to front lines and also make them strategic targets.
How often will the game get content updates? (of course solving bugs and connectivity issues should come first)
And will anything similar to the eden editor will be added in the near future?
If you open the inventory, and just drag the equipped weapon a bit in the "weapons" container, it will go onto your back.
id expect new 'major' patch about every 3 months based on quarterly planning and agile sprints used by most software development projects

When you're in a squad and you're all attacking the same objective, you can all stay on your frequency. But you might be doing different things and/or people from other groups might be joining in the offensive too. The displayed frequency is just a suggestion in case you all want to communicate.
@ember bay it would be difficult trying to communicate with a squad you just joined in, so having a standard and then changing it from there helps
Is there a way to cap how many gamemasters there can be? If so I assume it'd be server settings if you were to host one. Gets a bit crazy with 5 people playing as game master lmao

Yeah I spose, how ever the concept is simple enough. To send/receive you must be on the same freq, each team both has a set freq 42/48.
To talk in platoon freq you need the radio backpack but any team member can hear it

I don't believe you need a radio backpack for the platoon frequency. The backpack is just a mobile spawn as far as I understand.

Yeah base frequency seems to serve no purpose. I understand its a recommended frequency to use when communicating about that objective however as @ember bay stated it isn't explained and it needs to be. I like the idea of relays though or if the specific base frequency increased radio range around that base might help players know to switch to that frequency when targeting that objective which is kind of along the lines of relays. Also my understanding is that backpack radio is needed to talk into platoon frequency so all players on your team can hear it. However if you dont have backpack radio you can talk into platoon frequency but its only heard by all those within normal radio range
I think SLs should be able to have a “frequency suggestion” that pops up whenever someone joins a squad. Because having to navigate through text chat to get the frequency wont work..
And, how are these people supposed to tune into the SLs frequency? They need some meta notification so its not difficult

actually the tutorial is really good. doing the tutorial felt like it gave me more knowledge about the game mode than i did in Squad after playing for 50 hours 😆

That was just for marketing purpose. Game seems opened 1 year ahead of release (Reforger) to modders actually. That's really modder friendly.

btw. @brittle agate this is the documentation I would like to see (and I would expect, when author says in interview there is documentation for the engine).
Referential documentation around common prefabs/scripts/components like SCR_PlayerController. That's the real documentation for devs. How to start up the game with parameters and setup basic mission with areas is just guide for player. That's what I meant. 🙏 for this content to get into the Wiki soon.

Isn't changing a class mod? On default conflict you spawn with default loadout and you are supposed to get weapons from armory each time

ACE's advanced ballistics and FCS integrators run from extensions, judging by their github. Regardless of whether ACE in particular needs it or not, it's a pretty crucial feature to have in general to expand the scope of possible mods. I doubt anything numerically heavy like flight models or more involved sensor simulations would run well in EnforceScript

Sure but if I wanted to implement something like an airborne radar with realistic terrain backscatter or even terrain mapping capabilities, I highly doubt that would be viable in ES given that in C++ it's barely viable in real-time without multithreading. For reforger it may not matter much but it will definitely preclude a certain class of mods that might be really neat to see in Arma 4 that need heavier coprocessing

Anyone know how to force a server to restart a mission from scratch? Everytime I restart the server it loads the mission from where it left off last time, which can be a problem. So far doing server command #restart or restarting server does nothing and it keeps loading a save of the mission I start up.
inside the missionHeader array in your server.json file you need to add "m_bIsSavingEnabled": false, to stop the mission saving persistent data, so then every restart will be like a new mission.
Alternatively in your game servers profile folder is a \.save\ folder where the persistant data is stored, deleting the json file applicable to the scenario you are running will remove that data.
Thanks will try this. I did a deletion of the save file some time ago but didn't immediately work on a restart, so might have missed that as a workaround earlier. I will try the server.json option though as that might as well be how we do it until stuff become more stable.

basically the game has the PIP scopes in, it dual renders the game meaning outside the scope isnt zoomed in but the inside is(like a actual magnified optic) and 2D scopes is just an overlay of the reticle while zoomed in

not in the sense of a Virtual Arsenal, but if you go into gamemaster and place down a arsenal box you can edit your loadouts there

How can I play more than 4 minutes without getting kicked, and why did you charge $30 for this while simultaneously scaring away thousands of new potential Arma players by making a horrendously bad "Conflict" mission design of having more capture points than players? some mods are nice, but for the most part the mods are just people dipping their toes in the enfusion tools, so dont expect extremely complex mods like RHS or CUP right away

Honestly no clue whether it might fix the issue where people get disconnected when attempting to get info from the server regarding where things are placed etc.

One of my players got banned from the server automatically, presumably from Teamkilling while we were testing stuff. How does that work, and is the banned state preserved between restarts? And if so, how do I unban players?
You cannot unban players, if you restart the server the ban gets taken away.
And it works because no one usually likes team killing in these games so they made it bannable in online servers

Hello, this is due to one of the mods you are using, or sometimes the amount, you'll have to disable a mod(s) in order for Arma to launch and to find out what mod(s) are causing this issue for you.

I'm on xbox, and a couple of my friends are inviting me to a game that they're actively in, but I'm getting the "No connection to backend" error, which suggests that I check my internet. However, I'm running 100mbps at the moment. These friends of mine did confirm that they're playing in public servers too. Anybody else experiencing this?
Servers are just literal dog water atm, you will get booted every half hour for nothing then the server is full and you just lost hours of gameplay, just happened to me today

The best way to know if the servers could be fixed for you is keeping an eye on the @ armaplatform twitter or the website news for patch notes, since Reforger doesn't receive an update every day: https://reforger.armaplatform.com/news
If you want 100% certainty they are fixed or not for you is to hop into the game and try connecting to a server or several servers. Not everyone is experiencing the same problem, so your problem may be fixed while someone here will tell you "no" because their issue wasn't fixed yet.

Well arma 3 has a lot more content between the dev created stuff and mods but it can be so much you just end up not knowing where to start

I have ~100-300 fps in A3 while doing anything alone, such as flying helis and stuff on max settings. Here I have ~60 while playing alone on max graphics. The upside though, is that when you get in a firefight in A3 it's around 30 fps while here it basically doesn't change the fps whatever you are doing, pretty stable.

hey, do backpack radio spawn points have a ticket system too? often i will go to spawn on one, only to be spawned inside of HQ or a random spot, which i'm assuming is a bug but could make sense if the radio was out of tickets/range. if so, i think there should be some more information on the spawn screen to signify that
Anyone figure out how to clear the gamepad binds? they seem to be conflicting with my keyboard and mouse binds.
why hasn't BI released a full list of .chimeraUserInput.conf input commands. if we can't change our binds in-game, at least give us the full list of input commands so we can change the userinput file ourselves.

Project Reality maybe, they want to see how things turn out with enfusion and then might make something. There is a post in the forum about reforger where a dev replied. So in Arma 4 we could have day 1 project reality mod maybe 😄

Can someone explain to me how the radio network thing works. Right now my assumption is that every checkpoint has a different MHz. When you capture it, it gets added to the network grid so that channels close to that MHz are more clear. So it's about capturing the objectives and how far away you are from the individual checkpoint which influences clarity of radio chat?
Also if we capture something with say MHz 36, is it best to switch to that channel then if nearby?
The radio frequencies on the objectives are for friendlies to get on channel to coordinate attack/defense. The points have to be linked to capture them
And in which way do the comms become more clearer when you capture objectives? Is it important to switch to a channel close to the captured objectives MHz setting to achieve radio chat which is less distorted?
All I know is that distance effects the clarity of transmission
I find it weird that the individual objectives have different MHz settings when this is not projected into the gameplay. I will experiment with this later on and see if channels closer to captured objectives are more clear.
What would be nice, and I'm sure will come later (unless it was not a function of the radios from the era), would be the ability to switch quickly with preset channels between frequencies

Yes to the first question, no to the second. There have been some datamines showing a few of the other things already in the files, but likely incomplete including a couple of helis.

I would remark that Arma Reforger is officially estimated to be in Early Access for a year so there's plenty of potential in the meantime for updates to break existing mods; for that matter it took years before Arma 3 finally stopped receiving 'could break your existing mods' updates

When will there be a next update for the Xbox Series XI? Am having audio issues. I can hear that game through my headphones. And switch the options on my Xbox settings. To the game, through my headphones and my speaker. I cannot hear the game through my speakers. Is anyone else having this issue? My roommate wants to watch the game. And listen to it. But cannot.
from what I heard you can either use mic and be deaf, or be mute and hear
- firstly, it is anything but a port process, it requires a ton of work, from 3d meshes to animations, configs, sounds, etc etc. It isn't anywhere near a streamline process, but that was expected. Yes, we do have some assets on hands, no, these cannot be injected as they are without massive amount of work on each of these.
- secondly, you cannot commit to something without knowing what you would commit to, as in blindly. some of us bought the game, and from that portion some of us have started investigating the toolsets. I for instance have wasted quite a bit of time around these, but with limited success in testing a new design / inject pipeline for my own 3ds max workflow. i have yet too fully succeed.
- thirdly, dev time is a premium. We are all a lot older, with various degrees of obligations on top of what we had to deal with back when RHS started, hell, back when A3 was released. We are also a lot less directly active (maybe we should invest into getting more people in, but we kind of family).
- we aren't saving it for Arma4, but we need to take into account that future game at some point, plus all the possible update for Reforger.
What is worth doing, what is a priority, at least in the most general terms. Also, in order to plan anything, would be nice to know what one is planning for to begin with....and we are currently a bit in the unknown in regards to both the capabilities, and the pipelines required to get from A to Z, where Z is not even known atm
TLDR - it's never a promise with mods - we are investigating, but that doesn't mean that RHS will be on Reforger (minus the currents tests), or if it is it will be the A3 mod moved over to a newer Engine and with improved 3d models and textures. that is not how this works

There is a lot of systems in place already, but no in-game examples.
Medical, Refueling, Flares, artillery, etc. All of it possibly subject to change and evolve as they get more implemented into Reforger itself. I personally don't want to end up in a Jet DLC situation were I'm needing to go back through the workflow to re-adjust for engine changes. Rather just build what is there and now, then risk working on something not fully implement were I could possibly lock in asset were it would be a ton of work to re-do.

cross play is not implemented if the config lists both xbox and pc it just sets it to whatever is first which i believe is PC by default
i do not believe community servers have even been enabled for xbox yet

In theory... however I understand that the base classes for tracked vehicles aren't yet in, so I'm not aware of anyone attempting to jury-rig a tank knowing that it could be superseded by whatever Bohemia's Reforger devs add later; EDIT: the same goes for why, despite the game files allegedly also having both a Mi-8 model and a UH-1 model, I'm not aware of any modder attempting to make working helicopters yet
This is of course as opposed to personal firearms or wheeled vehicles, where there's plenty of WIP and releases

I think each side has different freqs, and the other team wont hear your comms unless they get one of your radios. Idont think theres any kind of boost, its simply an organization system to try and let players coordinate better. that said you can press 'p' and see what freq nearby players are on so it really isnt useful overall

I think even if the freq is the same, they are encoded. So it only works if I take an enemy radio. But the base frequency, puzzles me.. what do you mean by pressing p to see nearby players?
if you press 'p' it shows a player list on the server. anyone who is in radio range of you will have the radio frequency(s) they are on listed, so you can always see who is talking on what

Hello @agile tulip maybe a good idea: Is it possible to add the function to climb some smaller trees or something like that? At the moment trees are just blocking the vision and nothing more.. it would provide a nice feature than for them so you can climb on a tree for a sniper or higher observation point.
